Last day of our mini break. Great views here and a quick find. Thanks for the cache.
#937We stopped by here after digging a hot footspa at Kawhia beach. Easy track, and a scenic cache location. Dropped off a TB.
Found on a mornings fishing/dog walking adventure. No problems finding the cache
Enjoyed the easy and scenic walk to this one. Replaced the container with another sistema with an inner pill container and replacement logbook. Hopefully this will now keep things dry.
Cache full of water. Log book is unreadable so didn't leave names. It's all in the name! TFTC
Over in Aotea for the weekend with friends and we were taken up the beach in a dune buggy I had to stop us briefly to run over and pick up this cache. Great spot TFTC
I've took a short cut to a cache location by driving on the beach.
This place reminds me Hokianga Harbour! Thanks for bringing me here.
Plastic bag wrap attracts animals. Already damaged.

Great day at the beach! Notebook is a little soggy and we dried out the container in the sun for a few minutes. TFTC!
Was a little damp despite the double insulation but a great trek! If you are going consider bringing a large ziploc bag to help weatherproof.
As we haven't been to Aotea Harbour for a while, this walkway was new to us. We enjoyed our walk to GZ despite the weather being dull and windy. There were many people out fishing too. The sandhills across the harbour are amazing, lets hope they don't plant them in pine trees too. With today's find we have now found all the angela&ian caches in the Kawhia/Aotea area. Thank you, we really appreciate all your placements in the area.
+ a large marble, - nothing.

As I was warming my feet on Ocean Beach a woman recommended coming around here so I did. More big sand dunes over the other side.
A beautiful day to cycle from Kawhia. We walked along the deserted walkway and soon the cache was in our hands. TFTC
Yay found it! Such a beautiful day for a walk and also figured out what a kanuka tree is TFTC
Wow. What a beautiful day. Who knew about this place. A walk to get the cache but well worth it. TFTC
Cache was in good condition. The stuff inside was a bit rusted however. Quite easy to find in a small amount of time.
We had wanted to visit Kawhia for quite a while and as we were staying in Hamilton we had decided today would be a good day for the drive. A long journey, as we first visited the Bridal Veil Falls, but we made it in the end. We had fish and chips for lunch, then looked to see what local caches we could look for. The idea of a walkway after all that fish and chips sounded like a good idea so we headed back up the road to Aotea. Not many people about today and the track to the cache was empty on our way out, though we met a couple of people with dogs as we were walking back. The cache was an easy find and we then walked to the end of the track. However, with the tide on its way in we decided not to venture further to look for the next cache in case we were cut off. In spite of that we really enjoyed the walk on a track we would never have known about if it wasn't for Geocaching. I'm giving it my only available FP as a result (Bridal Veil Falls caches miss out).
Many thanks angela&ian for bringing us here.

You have to go a bit off the track to get to GZ. Really wet and smelly inside. TFTC
Found today. Beautiful walk. Suboptimal is that to have to jump the fence to get the cache as it is protected dunes there. Cache dry and in good condition.
A winters Monday morning so it was great to have the beach to myself This is what caching is about getting people to go to places that they have not been to before and yest its my 1st time here. Great views tftc
What a great spot unfortunately the tide was in so I couldn't do the other two caches nearby. TFTC
Sure was a beautiful view today and loved seeing the bar to this harbour. Most enjoyable walk to GZ. Nice wee easy find. Turned back as heading further south and no time. But will be back.
Nice walk along to this one... weather was setting in and tide was in so couldn't carry on to the next cache... will have to plan a return trip TFTC
A Chrissy cache! I'm sure it is a beautiful view on a sunny day. TFTC. www.thesoloavocado.com
2486 Today Kawhia was on my plan. It involved a walk around the top of the estuary, a bush walk at Te Kauri, Harbour walk (Aotea) and ended on the main beach before fish and chips at the wharf. Now for a walk to the Aotea entrance. Followed the walkway and climbed over the fence to get cache. After signing I sat and enjoyed the view for a little. Then on to the entrance.
Out and about grabbing some caches in the back blocks of my home area King Country with Cats&Dragons.
Despite being to Kawhia often in my youth, i'd never been to Aotea itself. I've never seen the dunes before and what a sight to behold! Amazing. I really don't like sand but it's so neat to view from a distance. Looks like a volcantic wasteland.

Well a chance to get out and about and clean up a few caches in the company of Kyb3r through some of the back blocks of the King Country.
Not a bad day all in all with 465 kilometers covered, 10 caches and even managed to ad a couple of years (in time) to my list of lonely caches.
This was the eighth of the day and an opportunity to travel roads that I had not traveled for many a year. There are many summer memories of evenings out at Kawhia and Aotea as a teenager. Very nice and pleasant walk out to the cache after so many kilometers driven today
The drive was great and easy with some wonderful views into the valleys.
Thanks for the cache, thanks for the placement

Sadly couldn't find this one! Perhaps I needed to look a bit better! Looked like an awesome place to fit a cache under and around this wind swept Manuka tree, wondered if it's gone or I just haven't looked properly! Never mind I will enjoy the return trip back soon, very much enjoyed this walk, beautiful evening walk and Sun set!
Very nice views here! Unfortunately tide was too high to attempt other cache but will return one day...cache all good...TFTC
Nice, quick and easy walk today no muggles around found signed replaced thanks for the views. Day 40 of a 50 day streak with the South East Auckland Crew. Tftc
Picking CB up from the Lodge just outside Kawhia, so though we'd continue onwards and enjoy the setting sun while we went to find this cache. Really nice walk, (which I've done a couple of times now) and a nice easy find once at GZ. Found everyone's names in the book, looks like they've started from both ends of the book.
After locating the cache, we had dinner in Kawhia at the Blue Chook, well worth visiting if your next in the area. Thanks for the hide.

Got up early this morning for a ftf in the north waikato. Might as well go for this one in the opposite direction. What carbon footprint !! Day off so a good excuse to get out again on the spyder the drizzle held off. Nice ride out here on the spyder for a ftf at around 1235. Just realised I was a FTF cacher on the nearby one around 4 yrs ago.Tftc
