Thanks for the find, was a pretty quick find, as I spied something on the cache container that stood out, although I was looking for a large container, it's not what I call large haha. Container is broken and falling apart so needs replacing.
Took a little longer than I expected but we found it at last - after some 'green oasis' diversion/distractions, lol! Sadly container is broken, so damp i side it, but we were able to initial the damp log paper - after displacing 2 snails and a dozen slaters.
took a while to find, was about to log a DNF, but had one more look. Thanks for the cache
Found but has eggs and spider inside the container we wernt keen on getting anything out
We almost DNF’d this — it was wet and cold and the size implied something larger. But I’ll take the win! Container could do with some love. Tango Foxtrot Tango Charlie kjtcs!
It's wet. We are soaked, so this took a bit of finding. Looks as if this cache has shrunk in the wet! TFTC kjtcs, number 12893 for me.
M25 and m14 rushed to the waypoint and after reading the description, it didn't take long before the cache was in their hands.
Nice and easy find, log all good and signed here. TFTC.

I don't often get to visit the Taranaki, and even rarer is a visit to New Plymouth. But I had a reason to be here over the weekend, and even though that reason was not geocache related I still managed to sneak a few caches into my itinerary
This particular cache would help me with my '360deg from home' count on PGC, so I was keen to find it. Having parked up near the entrance gate, I was very glad that the grass wasn't too long or two wet in spite of the overnight rain. I had the place to myself and was able to search uninterrupted.
A quick find here, although it was very damp inside. It's been my experience that these jars don't seem to perform quite as well as you'd think they ought to. But I was still able to sign the log and replace back where found
Thanks for bringing me here today.

Couldn’t find it for the life of me! Spent about 15 minutes looking and I would’ve spent longer but was in a no parking zone.

Managed to locate an interesting, if not controversial parking spot and headed into the tall maize, taking care not to damage any plants. A nice stroll to GZ which appeared as an oasis amongst the greenery. A nice quick find once on the right side of the fence. TFTC

I had been meaning to grab this one for a while now but finally tonight I made the effort to get to it. While the cache was exactly where I expected I didn't immediately figure out the hint.
Tango Foxtrot Tango Charlie Kilo Juliet Tango Charlie Sierra
I had some time to use up between work today and my other hobby this evening and decided to grab a couple of caches. I ended up with two finds, five stages of an Adventure Lab Cache and one stage (of two) of a multi.

Found it after some searching, is now a small container and found a loose trinket so put that in too.
Having a Tiki tour round Taranaki visiting friends. Stayed in New Plymouth last night and now heading north. Got to GZ avoiding all the mud. Found the lid as others have indicated. Left a new container and log although only had a small. The CO’s attention would still be appreciated. Thanks for the smiley.
We were heading further North on our travels and we thought we would make on last stop in the area to look for a large size container.
After checking out the sign and not finding the cache I read through some of the previous logs. Yes we found the same as the others, so like the others we signed the lid.
We are in the North Island to try to complete the PWGT Tahi section so we are having to head to the far north. Along the way we will pick up a few other caches that take our interest such as those with lots of favourites or size large or letterbox caches or some that will just help us to fulfil some of the various challenges we are working on.
With the new souvenir challenge we need to use the app to log the finds, but as I like to waffle on and write my stories on my laptop I am writing these while back at the campervan.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

This cache caught my eye for it's size, and the phonetic alphabet use which appealed as I'm military. Parked nearby and headed through the gate and through the maize, almost like a Stephen King character. Alas, as others have said it's a lid only now so I signed the lid and placed beneath the step of the stile.
Having moved down from Auckland at the start of the week, and settling into a new work routine and having a new team at work it's been quite a hectic week. So what better way to kick back and relax than embark on a 730km, 16 hour marathon Geocaching expedition to the Taranaki region. It was more about quality than quantity and I had a number of statty targets; a couple more TMGT tour caches, my final missing S39 degree minutes for the Challenge cache, a few Virtual caches, including the new fmz Monopoly one, couple of Earthcaches, and a couple more DT combos, and anything else that I passed, but without adding too much diversion onto my trip. 36 caches was the total and a pleasing selection of treats and more than doubled my current Taranaki finds total of 24 finds total. Thanks so much to all the COs for their caches, imagination and hard work and maintenance, much appreciated. When I eventually made it 'home' at 1045 PM I was ready for bed, and dashed my (foolish) plans of heading to Ohakune/National Park etc today, that will keep.

My mission today was to drive from Auckland to Wellington via Taranaki. My two objectives were to find enough caches to crack 18,000 finds and to find enough caches in Taranaki to knock off another district towards a challenge cache in Nelson. There's a problem with this cache. I found the lid and the log book, which was damp but still signable, but the actual container is missing. TFTC, Biggles.
After a 12 hour day tramping the Pouakai Crossing, the group disbanded and went their own ways home, and we decided to stay local for just one more......cache......but now on the route home....
TFTC.

Container has a hole in it now! But cool location and clues. Understood the code because I live with medical students learning it!
Not sure about the parking near here, and luckily for me, the field had been harvested, just a few remnants of corn to be seen.
A short walk to gz, and I missed the cache on the first look, then found it when I lifted my gaze.
Happy to be signing the log. Thanks kjtcs for sharing the history of this place

few other cars parked here but not caching.
easy walk through the maize and cache soon found
interested the last 2 cachers had not signed the log

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We had planned to have another crack at the PWGT trail this weekend. And just to make things interesting, Gap had work in Taranaki...
This cache had enough intrigue to make it worth stopping for. We read the historic notes and the NATO phonetic alphabet message... This set us up for the short walk in and quick find. Thanks kjtcs and TFTC.

Yay. Finished the wonders of the world today!!! Nice place to hide a cache. The box is a little damp inside. First find today. TFTC.
Arrived At Gl To Find The Farmer Has Plowed Up The Field Since I Had Past Last.Located The Cache To Find It Had No Log Book In The Cache .I Have Put A New Log Pad And Reseal Bag In The Cache So I could Sign It And Other Cachers Can Continue to Log There Finds.
Have Put New Log Book And Reseal Bag In Cache ,when I found This Cache It Had No Log book In It.
Here is a piece of Taranaki history that most would not notice as they whizz by. Thanks to your geocache we stopped and spent some time exploring the area. Good views from here too. An easy find. Thanks kjtcs and a favourite added.
We took a detour on the road to get to this cache as there are major roadworks on the main road. Funny enough there aren't any parking by the sign to this reserve it is all a no parking area [?]. We crossed a farmer's field to get to the reserve and could spot the cache as we were heading to GZ. Good piece of local history, the sign has even more information about what happened, looks like part of the Maori troops fled before the fight and left the Ngati Haua warriors alone. TFTC
We have driven by here multiple times and had no idea what was here. Had a few minutes to spare on our way to waitara so stopped. Glad we did. Wonderful views on a stunning day and the history made a connection with some graves we saw in New Plymouth. Favourite added from us. T4tcsl
Interesting spot and history. Found with little blue hen. Great view from the summit. Tftcsl
A nice easy find while exploring the area. Thanks kjtcs

.Came and visited this one for tagging. Cheers.
Day 14 - Boxing Day, Thursday 26 December. Around New Plymouth again today then started moving north. .
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Nice history but the NATO phonetic alphabet seems incongruous.
Merry Christmas!
It's Boxing Day, day fourteen of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today we are rummaging around New Plymouth.
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

We (Rattll & I) are on a mission to grab the geotour caches in this area and any caches that are close to these caches.
nice quick find at GZ thanks for bringing us here.
nice quick find at GZ thanks for bringing us here.
Out and about on a caching mission to collect some geotour caches for the Wanganui/Taranaki region, and of course some other caches we couldn't go past since we were in the area anyway!
After a quick break for food and coffee, we headed out of NP and continued on our way.
With my shoes still wet from a previous cache, things got pretty messy crossing the newly ploughed field. This could be a tricky one to get at once the crops planted.
I left a pet rock - a koala.
Thanks for putting this here kjtcs

A bit of a squeltch under foot to get to this one, welcome to the Naki ground.
Up here for an awesome weekend jaunt with Team Gators, TheWanglers and Karma Reprint to do a loop of the mountain in 48 hours grabbing as many caches as we could while having a good laugh. Logs signed as some derivative of (KT)^2
Cheers kjtcs for the cache

A planned geocaching trip to the USA was shelved (but is all go for this time next year!) so we came up with a weekends Plan B. Taranaki with TheWanglers, KarmaReprint and KiwiMoose - logs signed (TK)^2 or a variation of. A really fun trip with the forecast rain and thunder seemingly always in the distance but never hindering us. A really fun weekend.
Arrived in New Plymouth; grabbed the rental and hit the road running - aiming for Hawera....well; hmmm.....Hawera ain't that far away but it might take a while if we stop for all the caches?! LOL. Nice puzzle and a funky spot - bit of a squelch to GZ but all good. Cheers!

A quick and easy find, first for the trip. Cheers
Day one, New Plymouth airport to Hawera.
A long weekend cache raid to Taranaki. The weather didn't stop us doing anything, and we had fun times. Logs were signed with a combination of KT and 2 depending one which of did the signing. Thanks Kiwi Moose, Team Gaters and TheWanglers for a choice time.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

A plan was hatched for a few of us to head to America for a Mad Mission. With life getting a bit crazy a downsized trip was organised as I had sorted childcare for the cachelets. The big America trip is now set for next year. We asked a member of our crew if we could go to Nelson, Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington, Hastings the answer all came back "I don't have many to find there". We left it to that member to suggest an area. He came up with New Plymouth and a loop around the mountain. That's a go from the rest of us. We sorted puzzles, gpxs, motels and a car and hit the ground running. The forecast was doom, gloom, rain, hail and lightning. Oh well, sounds exciting. We had very little of any of the weather that affected our caching and found we had all overpacked (thank God!).
Day 1: We grabbed the car and started caching at 2pm and made it to Hawera after 8pm settled into our accommodation and had a bit to eat and hit the town before calling it quits for the day.
Wow, it's muddy in the Naki.
Thanks for the cache kjtcs.

Grandparents with Asha 11, Sophie 8, Cooper 6. Our first day caching. Thank you for your effort. Trackable uplifted for travel.
Spending the afternoon doing waypoints for the First Taranaki Land War multi - stopped here because of the history. What a sad and impressive place. Completely forgot about the cache as we approached the site - returned to the car and remembered just in time - had to run back to get it!
We could find this geocache during our holiday in New Zealand. Today we visited New Plymouth and visited the Three Sisters.
New Plymouth was a surprise. After we spent some time in the library recharging our laptops we explored the city. We have some street art in our hometown (Oostende, Belgium) and we've see some nice work in Dunedin last month and we were happy to see some great wall paintings in this city as well. We counted some steps and enjoyed the food. We liked the wind wand and walked to the nice white bridge from here. It almost felt like home.

Great spot. We loved walking through the corn, something i had never done before- thank you!
A nice quick find at an interesting spot. Access easy today because the cornfield surrounding GZ is only a foot high. It will be an interesting walk in a few weeks when the corn is a couple of metres high. Thanks.

This was the eleventh day of my twelve day trip to go to the Wellington Mega. I am in and around New Plymouth grabbing as many caches as I can today.
At first I strained, but it was much easier than that. TFTC.

Once upon a time there was finally a sale between CHC and NPL, and I managed to grab a seat! The anticipation of the holiday was killing me, as this was to be the first time I set foot in Taranaki, the last unchartered territory in NZ for me. Since the wait for the dates was unusually long, I even got a chance to do some planning and pick a few nice caches to look for. I was hoping to go for a few walks also.
I had a slightly different plan for today, given that this was a best weather forecast of my stay. Unfortunately the noise at the YHA kept me awake until 2am (and it was thanks to staff as I found out!!!), and I was in no state for too much adventure. Never mind, I went for smaller trips instead, finding some amazing caches!
I was originally going to stop here on Friday afternoon, but as i was navigating to gz, there was an accident just before and there was no way OI could have stopped for the cache! Nice quick find this morning with not many people about just yet - and it has been a while since I walked through a cornfield!! Great childhood memories TFTC!!
