Awesome Bridge. Tricky cache. GZ was in the middle of bridge. So Kids went one end, geomum other way and come up with the cache.
A loose plan was hatched for a 3-week road trip with RoamingHowie to explore locations in Country NSW wed not been to before and of course, find a cache here and there.DAY EIGHT: Bye bye Bathurst, hello Orange. This had us going for a while. I focussed on one level while RH focussed on the other. Eventually, with a systematic approach, I found the sneaky blighter. Very well camoed! Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, adsark ~~
It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 8: Its time to leave Bathurst and venture a little further north west to Orange. Trying to dodge the weather along the way.WOW!!! What an epic adventure this one was. We attempted to find the track to GZ that was mentioned in the description to no avail. We only located a closed gate and overgrown paddocks. We parked nearby on the road and wandered up to GZ. We searched and then I spotted something so I headed down. Then I headed back up again (or should I say climbed and almost slid all the way back down again). Up and down again.OzHockeyChick was the one to finally make the find on this one. A very sneaky and a little mischievous this one is.Thanks adsark for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. The [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour Event - GCAFQ8B](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) is on 18 February 2024.Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Day 4 of our geo adventure holiday, after camping at a nearby property for a 4wd event, we set off to explore the Molong region it's somewhere we have never ventured before until now, this holiday is all about taking the time to see some of the amazing gems that you find while geocaching

Can finally change my poor sad blue DNF face into a happy yellow found face. It’s a tricky one, but a good one. Look low
We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 21 – Last day for us today our journey would be from Dubbo to Canberra. We were both well and truly ready to be home again back to the home comforts. Nice to go away but even nicer to return home. Many caching stops along our way home and this was one of them.
All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise mentioned.
Log is full here, needs some TLC.
Thanks for the hide adsark

This looks awesome from the highway, southbound. Its clear how stranded it is. Made the relatively easy walk through the grass and was pleased to find it relatively quickly.
I had studied older logs last night in Dubbo and warned the geofamily it could be a longish search. Squeezed 'GH' in the margin.

We found a safe spot to park and made our way up to the bridge to nowhere. It was interesting to see the old bridge which we took many photos while searching for the tricky one. With an idea where to look the micro was soon in hand. We just managed to squeeze our team name on the very full logbook.
Thanks adsark for the interesting location and sneaky hide.

On the way to Cobar for the weekend and needed to stretch the legs.
Spent about 10 minutes at the wrong end before checking the GPS and once at the right spot made a quick find and sign in the torch light.

Muggle65 and l are on the long drive from Tumut back to Brisbane. This was our forth and last cache for the day. Very tricky indeed. Imagine you could be here for quite a while looking for this one. Great hide. Thank you for placing it. Log definitely needs replacing.
Our 4th cache for the day TGG & I wandered up to the bridge through high thickets to find this well hidden gem. Was a little concerned re the DNF’s but didn’t find it overly difficult.... I can say that cause TGG spotted it first again I played a supporting role.
Looked high and low but obviously not high enough or low enough.....lol. Thanks for bringing us out here.
I decided a weekend dash north to finish my inland NSW counties was in order. The aim was Brewarrina for the two Earth Caches. Day 4. Today was my last day and I did a bit of caching as I traveled from Welling to home via Cowra.
This was my second visit here. GZ was all over the place so I started looking. I must have missed it by that much the first few times I went along there, but eventually I saw the slightly sneaky addition to the hide that made it so hard.
Thanks for the cache adsark

We found this one on the trip home from Orange & I was the one who found it. Signed R1BG. TFTC
I had a search for this in January with a jumpy GPS & no luck. I was determined to find it the next day on the return trip, but in the end went another way & missed out.
Today getting to GZ was much different, with the dirt now replaced by thick green grass & weeds & prickles. & this time the geofamily was with me, & bushwalkinggirl's eagle eye spotted the cache not long after I'd searched that area. Great cache & a great location for one. I'll always remember this stretch of highway from my childhood trips from Orange to visit family in Dubbo. Signed as R1BG.
Definite favourite point from me. TFTC!

A beautiful sunny day for this search. The grass was long and this bridge was well hidden from the road. It certainly is a funny spot. A nice tricky hide that seemed more obvious once found. Logged as R1BG. TFTC
This one really haunts me at night! We went up there just before dark, so didn't have that much time to look. Looked everywhere up, but didn't go down... The coordinates were pointing at the rusty barbed wire, but we thought that could not be it, as it seems too dangerous for a kids friendly cache. So we looked all over the bridge, every possible hiding spot. Nothing. We had to give up because of the sunset. I terribly wanted to come back the next day even though it was way out of our way, but it was raining and we gave up and didn't return. Now it plagues me. I have many new ideas on where to look. I hate not to have found it! I hope to return some day, which is unlikely...
This was a adventurous long weekend drive from ACT to Wellington caching along the way with TheSkype. Muggle bro in toe. This took awhile as others mentioned, both me and TheSkype looked hard and long. Follow the wire, find the cache. Smart hide. Tftc
#3719 Sort of looked up in that area, but GM had a closer look up there down low, and came up with the goods. Interesting to see the old road and old rail way line. TFTC.
Glad I didn't leave the car running to keep the car cool. That just took me AGES even though it was so obvious in the end. Duh!

First cache for the day after an overnight stay at the Molong caravan park.
A bitter cold morning, so much for global warming!!!
But we braved the elements and headed up to GZ where it took a while to find this sneakily hidden cache.
Not only was this a bridge to nowhere but railway lines to nowhere too.
Thanks.

Long story short, I'll know where not to look next visit. And not to do it in the rain that causes instability of soils. Rain! How good is this!
Up in the west this weekend for some "work", specifically in Orange & Parkes (from the central coast). After some brekky in Orange we all split up to meet at the dish later in the day. I decided to kill that time by going caching . Never been to Molong before and after doing some recce last week I spotted a few good looking caches for the journey, including this one - with D/T like that it deffo begs inspection! Parked just off the highway and found some tracks lol which led me to GZ. Once there, all the usual tricks had me empty handed? Then I kinda picked up on some careful wording on the cache page and so after stepping things up a bit and trusting where the pointer was pointing on the app map, I managed to make the find. Tough hide! Cheers, adsark.

This was our last cache for the day. We had already thought about the info on the page and sensed what type of hide we might be expecting to find. This proved to be correct, but we should have trusted our instincts and acted on them instead of checking out something else first. We tracked along to reach the cache and after finding it and signing in it in the next space, we tracked back via the same route. The road on the bridge still has its centre lines but certainly leads nowhere. Thanks to adsark for placing this cache.
This cache will forever be locked in my mind and not for a good reason!
Approaching GZ along the track, I was so intent on looking at my GPS that I tripped and bashed my face on the train rails, resulting in a gash on my forehead that eventually needed stitches, and several other cuts on my face. Who says Geocaching is not dangerous? (Actually it isn't if you keep your mind on the job)
I was glad that one of our group came up with the find. It IS worth it after all. TFTC adsorb.

Back for a second search brimming with great ideas on where we should have looked last time. Ended up finding it where did look last time. [xx(] So much for all those brain racking thoughts! TFTC adsark, happy to finally find it.
Found as part of an Orange and surrounds geomission with fitzy_1965, AngelG27 & Sol de Lune (signed as FASS to save time & space) Top weather, great company and lots of laughs meant for an epic weekend of caching all round!
Jeez fitzy certainly has his caching eyes on today! He was straight onto it like a dog on a chop! [:o)] Great work!

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX, Sol de Lune and I (logged as "FASS") headed from Canberra to Orange and surrounds for a caching blitz over the 30-31 July weekend. We logged around 1000kms in the Geo-Jeep, selecting those caches that Fitzy had not previously found. I scored around 130 caches for the trip. The visit was characterised by blue skies, very green paddocks, lots of water off and on the road, a fair amount of mud, and good company! Still plenty of caches to collect and scenic spots to explore on a return trip. Thanks to my fellow travellers for a fun weekend, and the COs for all their efforts in putting out and maintaining the caches.
20th for the day at 1125 (95 for the trip). We were concerned that we would have to spend too much time at GZ for this one, given its difficulty level and number of DNFs. Two of us searched down and two search up, and it was not long those words "I found it" put pay to our doubts. A very small container that could have been hidden anywhere, but Fitzy came through for the team yet again - thanks adsark for the tricky find and challenge!

A weekend trip up through this area with SpecimenX, AngelG27 and fitzy_1965 to grab a few caches up around these parts. Had DNF'd this one before but today was a different story. We arrived at GZ and fitzy came up with the find in under 60 seconds. Gotta be happy with that.....

11283. Headed up to the Orange region with AngelG27, Sol de Lune and specimenX ("FASS") for a fun-filled weekend of caching. Lots of caches found, a few not found, and a lot of laughs had as we toured around over 2 full days as far north as Wellington which resulted in 124 finds for me.
Headed out early again today for a final big run of caches before heading home to Canberra. Next stop for the day on a loop up to Wellington and back. We thought this one would prove a tough nut to crack but clearly the caching gods were smiling on us as I looked in an obvious spot and found the cache straight away - gotta be happy with that ! Log signed, cache returned and we were off to the next one.
Thanks adsark !!

This one took some time.
Its a shame people log online without signing the log.

Linden/6 & Immyky, heading from Brisbane to ACT, following a few windmills along the way.
It would NOT be right to ignore all the caches en-route! LOL ...
Day 2, Tamworth to Orange.
Our 45th cache on this trip.
Last one for today!
Parked the Geo-beast & wandered over to GZ.
Hmmm?
This could be interesting.
Nothing evident after a quick look so it's down to a thorough search.
Worked along one side then the other, several times, before taking a short break for a rethink.
Read all that was available & found that there had been a few DNFs.
Hmmm?
One recent finder according to the online logs.
We were determined to find this one (if it was here!) before night settled in & that wasn't very far away!
After several more intense rounds of searching it was Geo-Mamma who was triumphant!
YES!
Opened the cache log to reveal that the last signature was back in June 2015?
Is this an unloved cache then?
Photos taken of the physical log to confirm last signature.
Hmmm?
Something strange seems to be afoot here!
Left our mark & replaced as found.

Now the 4th DNF in a row. Any wonder people don't like Nanos in the bush! Pity - it's in a worthy location - just a useless kind of cache.
A nice easy cache on our Sunday mini road trip out west, 16 caches found for the day (4hr's of caching) with not a dud cache in them , only one DNF , thanx heaps to all the hiders of the caches , that took us on roads we had never traveled ! We had a top one, cheers and thanx again

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.
On day one of our trip we headed from Canberra to Dubbo. The caching was in the second half of the day at small towns and around Dubbo itself. Mostly it went soothly, but not here. Thanks.

This morning I took a turn down a road that I hadn't intended to and ended up joining the highway a bit further south than I had intended to, which meant that I got a chance to find this cache which I now intended to, even thought I had not intended to [:o)]
A quick stroll across the highway and a railway (which is shown on me maps) I was under a bridge
Nah !! No mention of trolls in the cache notes !!
There's always mention of trolls in the cache notes if the cache is in troll territory !!
So off I scrambled to a higher elevation.
A micro cache eh !!??
Here ??!!
I approve [^]
It gets a bit monotonous sometimes finding regular sized caches in tree stumps
I was up to the challenge
Or was I ??
It was warm out here this morning !!
There were many places a micro could be hidden ...
... think "If", think.
Go the obvious !!
The cache was not so obvious, but was in the obvious place
TFTC and another chance to not cross a bridge when I came to it

FTF.Liked the location and the search. So many places to hide one here. Rocks, railway line, trees, above, below, on bridge etc. Kept thinking is the two and half terrain when you walk to it from the highway or when you 4wd to it. Co ordinates are good. Fav point.Tftc
I set out to find this one and get one up one geofriend The Smodges who couldn't find it. He parked on the road and walked up. He couldn't find it. I went today and drove the 4WD up and I could find it with either my IPhone or my Garmin. The co ordinates were all over the place. They had me about five meters away from the bridge in the bush I would walk to the bridge and I was directed to where I had just come from. I am puzzled about the type as is The Smodges. I suggest you either re evaluate the location or add a hint.
Great spot! Thought I had a good shot at the FTF, but after a long and fruitless search, no dice! Puzzling over why a Nano cache when there are so many easy spots to hide a bigger container...
