A trip over the dittecch and I'm in the land of the big white cloud. Yep, Made it to Christchurch and onto Dunedin for a week of caching. DAY TWO (23/10). An early start with a breakfast meetup and then onto some caching. We had a list of general caches and the main priority will be the web Cam. It does seem as this one is a little different to the traffic cams around Europe. Today it was Bluewattle, Snickersallan, Wollaston and myself touring around town. There are seven or eight or more types on the list so it will be a busy day. The final for the night is a dinner event, but there is always time for one more. After our morning event it was on with the day of caching, we headed north collecting some names, some horses and a few others as we passed. Thanks for the placement, we had a little fun here searching and signing the log. Thanks for the cache it is such a lovely place out here.
Touring around with a lovely group of Aussie geo friends for a few days in Christchurch, picking up some solved puzzles, and selected others on our to-do list.It was a beautiful spring day, with lots of laughs and fun along the way. Most of the hides were found quickly, and it is a real credit to all the cache owners who placed them for the benefit of the geocaching community.
Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. TFTC warfi
Thanks for placing and maintain for our enjoyment Found with Snickersallan, Wollaston and chamadVisiting Christchurch for a few days before heading down to attend Geotora Mega
Have visited this location before finding what I thought were the remains of the cache container. I was wrong as the cache was quickly located this afternoon during a revisit; TFTC
On a road trip with Net61 from Kaikoura to Christchurch. A nice quick stop here as we spotted this one on our approach. TFTC
Out on a Various Task Mission (especially my favorite, collecting pine cones!!) With That Darn Bear and UnicornLex
Out on a mission with GeoHubby (GNARwhal) and Miss 11 (UnicornLex), finding some caches in the North Canterbury region. A quick find here. Thanks for the cache. Now off for a coffee and find some more trees for Miss 11 to climb!
Rushed around the block and somehow skipped this…maybe rattled by previous dnf!
Will pick this one up on second attempt at the bridge.

Loved the container only the second I have found such as this a favorite for the thought
#12,406. The last day of my week long southern holiday before driving to Picton tomorrow. Covered a fair bit of ground picking up geoart, CANZ, solved puzzles, challenge caches and adventure labs. l also managed to fit in some bird watching at Lake Ellesmere which I also did this morning. Left there at 10.30 am after an early start and drove straight through to this area Took over an hour to cross through the city. I have until 7pm tonight when I need to be at my nieces place for dinner in New Brighton. Until then I am doing as many caches as possible up here in the Amberley and Rangiora areas. I had solved a lot of the geoart puzzles in the past year so today is the day to pick them up. But will stop for any traditional caches along the same routes. Afraid its a cut and paste day.
Thanks warfi for this cache. Nice quick find here. Good to get some of these before starting the geoart.

Team G0LD ( 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ ) on a caching mission to Christchurch. We had travelled down from Whangarei on Wednesday avo. Solved puzzles were going to be the main focus of our trip. We had spent a lot of 2020 and 2021 solving over 400 puzzles, so we had a lot on our list.
On our Big Day Out yesterday, we got reasonably close to our perhaps optimistic target of finding 300 caches in one day. Today then, was going to be spent working on the remaining GeoArt puzzles, to clear as many as possible, before heading home tomorrow.
In the morning, we headed North from our accommodation and completed the Rattles GeoArt caches series, before it was time to head back for Greg's lunchtime appointment to help family. Time though for the odd trad on the way back. A nice quick find here, once we were on the right side of the road. TFTC

Team G0LD: Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ are down from Whangarei for a few days. We've all solved the 4 big geoarts so they are the main target for the trip. Of course there were many other puzzles solved as well which filled in the 24th. The 25th was the Smurfs and Fresh Breath. 26th was Rattle and Horses. We certainly made a great dent in my solved puzzle list but I'll still have enough for another trip.
We'd just completed the rattle series so now it was time for a few more extras in the area. This fun find really brightened up our day. Thanks for these trads around your block

Team BOP on another crazy mission again to the South Island. Lockdown gave us a lot of free time that we directed into Canterbury’s many Geo-Arts and with the Auckland 2020 Mega postponement, Christchurch was an easy decision. Team BOPs current incarnation is DavidsonClan, NZFlossy, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed all the logs as Team BOP to save time and log space.
So Labour Weekend 2020, it’s a numbers mission, the Cachly cut’n’paste template is sorted and while I unapologetically use this tool I truly appreciate you placing this cache for us to find. This was a welcome break from all the Geo-art series we're currently working through.
Cheers warfi, TFTC

With the Mega Covid cancelled this year a part of Team BoP decided to come south and try get all our solved puzzles, and some others along the way. So here we are!
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

On a mission to the south after mega in Auckland was canceled. Team Bop booked airfares and here we are. Thanks all COs for your efforts. Due to numbers please excuse copy and paste logs in advance.
As Auckland Mega has been postponed we decided to do a trip south to Christchurch. Four of us from Team BOP joined up to share a car and accomodation. I always love these weekends as the company is great and makes our days and nights out caching lots of fun. We have done lots of puzzles in preparation and did some long windy roads to get them. Found lots of great caches and thanks to all the COs for the effort that goes into these Please excuse the copied logs and I will try to make some individual notes on as many as I can This sort of trip is where I find the cachly app very valuable. Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
If recent days have been anything to go by, then today's activity is going to seem crazy. We have such a big game to play, spread out over a very large area - An early morning start in the north, with a late finish on the trails to the south... Let's go! We met the new neighbour, and he was aware of this hide. Thanks warfi and TFTC.

Headed up to North Canterbury this morning with the aim of picking up at least 22 caches today to take my total for the year to 800. Had a few left to do from yesterday’s series too. Located 25 all up before heading home mid-afternoon. Used the car to get to some and the bike for others. Pleasant countryside for cycling. Biked along the shingle road to this cache and the next five. A quick find. #2976. TFTC.
P.S. My notes say that the container for this cache is falling apart, i.e. disintegrating!

Bit of a wet day today so off work early. Popped out before the rain really set in to grab this one.
Any bad day geocaching has to be better than a good day at work. Clever hide though getting a bit damaged perhaps from a moa. TFTC

This was the second day of caching with KCN and MPM and we aimed for the Rattle as well as any close by traditionals and other puzzles plus Horses 101 we missed the day before. Weather today wasn't as great as yesterday but we didn't let that slow us down. Thank you to all the COs for placing these caches.
8 March 2019 12:37 PM. I have a Sharkefan cache as well so had to find this one when on the area. TFTC warfi & sharkefan
Came out for a drive in the country picking up a few caches along the way. Mostly quick finds. 3 DNF. Pleasant day. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 2031
Took a bit of finding, ethness spotted it first, I was considering giving up. TFTC.

The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara and I are on a mission to find the elusive Turtle in Christchurch. We leave Zara in Sefton, while The Seagnoid, Toby and I start exploring between the Kowai and Ashley rivers. The elusive Turtle has been located and Gracies nursery visited, so lets see what else is around here.
A quick snag and tag here. Thanks warfi.

Taybeedragon, Zara, Toby and I came down this way as we heard the world turtle was hanging out somewhere near the nursery. It was too, we caught a glimpse of it back there, through the trees. So the mission for this weekend is done. But now that we are here, we carried on exploring the entire area between the Kowai and Ashley rivers.
I remember seeing logs from Sharkiefan, and have probably met him. But that would have been way back when i was but a young seagnoid. I don't remember.

(# 4409). In Christchurch with Yeetrees to grab some caches during the weekend. The weather was not the best today with low lying fog all day. At least it kept the muggles away. This is part of 100 finds for the day. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
This year has been a slower year than my average so I decided to head out and try to increase my average cache a day for 2017 to one a day. No problems locating this cache today. Thanks for the cache.
Christchurch - Kaikoura
We had a day on the road, tracelling many country roads. The scenery was rural with many sheep & cows . The road sides looked great with all the blossoms.
We found a variety of caches today, even meeting 1 local cacher

On the last day of a wonderful 7 day feast of geocaching, including the Oamaru Geofest. Still having a blast. Thanks!
I haven't met Sharkiefan but I take it she was a bit of a shining light? TFTC # 11,265
We set up the slow cooker and went out for a few hours of caching! Great use of time, and although it did start raining at one point, it stopped before I got out of the car. We had a great time! TFTC!!

Out for a nice, but cold, caching evening. We stopped by to grab this one, and it was a quick find. All good!

Driving back to Nelson from Christchurch with Mrs Biggles today. Time to find a few caches along the way. No real problems here although the cache container is broken and has sharp edges that could cut unwary fingers. Log still intact and able to be signed. TFTC, Biggles.
GPS jumping all over the show with the low cloud cover so had a good look or so I thought. Saw a car further up the road and a person getting out looking my way so headed in that direction and found Warfi. Had a little hint, so while she was off looking for one of her small dogs, I headed back and found it although it has been damaged. Geez it must have been a duh moment earlier.
Along time ago this was found...thanks to Warfi for going thru her logs to help me find the day. And thanks too for the cache.
Certainly a Sharkiefanish cache. This one was quickly spotted. It may need a bit of a patch up and some glue though as it has sustained some damage and doesn't quite sit right. Tftc.
Found with Injeanious as we took a slight detour on our way to Amberley. TFTC!
Quick and easy find. Decided to make the most of this glorious Saturday by going for a run around the block where I'm housesitting to log some local caches. Beautiful area!
