Unable to maintain this one any longer. Plenty of new geocachers these days that can inject some new enthusiasm & placements. ??
Once I spotted the plastic bag mentioned in logs, I soon had this signed and replaced, TFTC
Thought it was a you know what at first so examined carefully. In poor condition but signable. Came down all those steps¡
At the end of our Northland hoilday back in Whangaeri as it our home town
Nice easy find

Good team work. Find credited to Budly1. Shabby little cache with some hoary tokens inside. Great fun!
Saw the plastic bag and thought nah that’s not it but picked it up anyway and geeently opened it dreading what I might see inside. Was getting ready to heave it away when to my relief there was only another plastic bag inside with some paperwork. Lucky I was geo caching because finding plastic bags in the bush and opening them doesn’t bring on those warm cuddly feelings. Maybe I seen too many Sunday horrors as a kid.
Great cycle ride on a cracker day. We are on a motorhome trip to Northland from Blenheim. Always good to get out and about.
R called out "damn dog owners" but after hunting for another 5 minutes we read previous logs!
Not quite what we were expecting. TFTC

Oops! forgot to re-enable when lockdown levels changed to allow it! Safe & Happy travels and caching
Due to the Covid 19 lockdown & the need for everyone to keep within their "bubble", same reason as playgrounds are off limits, so are physical geocaches until further notice. Try some cracking puzzle/mystery caches, and get find the finals later, when it is safe.
Keep Well everyone!

Found on way back to car after walk along track. Did not locate on way there but was easily found on way back. Log nice and dry. Thanks for the hide
When you find a plastic bag in the woods containing something slightly squishy your first thought is that is not a cache.
I opened it extremely gingerly but it smelt fine, looked fine, and was fine! What’s more it was dry.
No container!!

Nice hiding place - the outer bag made us think it contained canine residue but we carefully opened it to reveal the cache! Signed and returned, all good! TFTC
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches
Signed log as tm/ww NZ

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

We are new to this (day2) and at first thought this one was left behind by a lazy dogowner..however the hint won us over. Appreciate the extra effort to hide while foing the B2B:)
Spending the long weekend in the area with Jag50. A quick find but there is no container, just the log in a plastic bag
Out with 23 scouts and parents from horahora scout group to show them what geocaching is all about. Good hunt up a geotrail. Found log but no container for this one??? Our fourth find.
Nice easy find thanks..
Am really enjoying my walk here today thanks..
Having a mini break in Onerahi!
Need to return....fantastic area.

Well this had been a journey in the making for some time as for the past few weeks a group of us were working on puzzles in the area for a 24 hour mission (travel time included) to see what we could reasonably grab.
All caches were signed "HOAC" so as to save space in the logbook. So together with HKCB, 11HPG, kiwis69 & Alpenmilch83 we left Hamilton at 6.pm with the aim to do as many as possible before sleeping in the car, grabbing breakfast and continuing on. Plenty of laughs were had and stories told. Thanks to all the CO's for their efforts in keeping these going and taking the time and effort to place and maintain these caches.
After the night cache we continued along the track to the end to see what was possible in the night
Thanks for the placement, Thanks for the cache

On another HOAC mission, this time with Cats&Dragons, Kiwis69, 11HPG11, and Alpenmilch80. The mission a 24 hour blitz on Whangarei puzzles, plus a certain multi to complete C&D's 5th loop around the D/T grid. Leaving Hamilton at 6pm, with a quick stop in Auckland to pick up A80, we were in Whangarei caching just after 10pm.
During the moonlight hours the plan was to focus on the puzzles around Onerahi, and the Pokemon series, while during thhe daylight the plan was to focus on thegreatauk puzzles plus a few others we had solved. The mission turned out to be fairly successful considering the level on difficultly of most of the hides we were targeting. The logs were signed as HOAC to save room on the logs, a big thanks must go out to all the CO's for their hides.
Continued on from the nightcache to find the rest of the caches along this trail. Found the cache without a problem but the contents were spread around abit.

A Friday night a bit different. I got picked up in AKL by a car loaded with Cats&Dragons, 11hpg11, kiwis69, HKCB & a trunk full of food, which could have lasted us for a week surviving in Whangarei. Started into the night with telling a lot of funny stories, enjoying laughter’s and geocaching, geocaching, geocaching.... After the long ride in the car I enjoyed this part of the night strolling along the track finding geocaches. Found our way to GZ but hmmm somebody got into the geocache. We got all items back together before moving on...
I enjoyed the time out with the HOAC crew and must say when I arrived back home I felt broken, but very happy and accomplished. TFTC and TFTTrip

A trip to Whangarei for the night to collect a few caches is totally normal right? 2 hours sleep is also normal? Our group tonight consisted of Cats&Dragons, HKCB, Kiwis69, Alpenmilch80 and myself. We left Hamilton at 6pm on Friday and we were home by 6.30pm on Saturday. Some great caches were found and some laughs were had and a lot of sugar and caffeine consumed. A lot of planning and puzzle solving had gone into the prep work so we had a good plan of what caches to attack. Logs were signed as HOAC to save room
A nice walk along here and soon spotted where we needed to be. Don't know if the cache had been pulled apart by man or animal but found the cache holder, bags and other bits and pieces spread around. Put it all back together and made sure it was the cache we were holding and not some discarded item! Thanks for the fun cache

Found during our 24-hr Whangarei caching mission. After a few weeks' planning and a lot of nights working our way through some of the more recently published puzzles, we (HKCB, 11HPG11, Alpenmilch83, C&D & myself) set off north on Friday evening with our caching wish-list. Great trip: really enjoyed exploring new areas, lots of laughs as always and good to find a few caches (although a bit more sleep would've been nice too!) before we headed back home on Saturday afternoon. All caches were signed "HOAC" so as to save space in the logbooks. First stop was Onerahi: walked long the track to look for the night cache and carried on to look for pokemon, meaning we were also searching for other trads along the way. Easier to search & find when its nearly midnight with multiple cachers looking and no muggles around, TFTC
Turned around too late so had to carry DS from open at the close to here. Two words: cheeky sod! took painted rock. Didn't leave anything sorry, but will load up next time and put something in all the ones we find.
A beautiful area to walk here and teaming with birds. Unfortunately it also has every noxious weed known to NZ. Geohounds had a lovely walk too. tftc!
First cache in my first trip to New Zealand. Walking the trail with my sister and our parents.
Still there but some one had left the container open... things are a little soggy... sealed up and returned to store...
Out biking these trails today collecting a few caches...this was a Nice find as there seems to be a neat we trail that leads to it ...thanks Saltycachenut for the great placement this is a nice area took TB will log later on computer
Cycled along this walkway this afternoon. Followed the geotrail in. Thanks for bringing us here SaltyCacheNutz.
It took me longer than I care to admit to bush bash through to this cache, only to find I was at the wrong end. Finally got to cache and saw how easy the trail was. at least I got to hide well when the muggles walked past. TB dropped. TFTC.
Lots of weeds in the area. Didn't take long to spot the cache. Had to wait for a couple of muggles to pass on by before returning to the path.
Out for a ride tonight, rather than going for a run. Looked in the logical place according to the hint and cache was soon in hand, so was able to sign log and be back on track before any muggles passed by.

[ Very authentic memory of this runner. I pulled the plastic bag from behind the trunk and had to laugh. ] The shoe was wet and a little smelled, just as if Forrest had just taken off his leg.
[Thanks for this memory. ]

Went for a walk along the Waimahanga Track as there were a couple of caches that had popped up since last walking it. This one was tricky as GPS was a little bouncy. Had to use hint and pictures in comments to help us but nonetheless we spotted the "End" of the tree. Nice cache.
Fun story Unfortunately I was unable to find this one.. I looked in multiple places that fit with the hint,. both those where the GPS wanted me to go and that one that was just so very obvious, but no..

Nice little diversion from the loop track and this cache posed no problems. Many thanks for bringing us here.
I didn't realize Tom Hanks only had one leg, what happened to the other foot. lol Nice hide. TFTC
Took a while to make the connection with the shoe, then rusty made the connection. Quick find with clue, cache in good condition.
We were on our way back to the stairs, so a short diversion to come and find the cache. I started at one end, and UGNZ the other, not long after she calls out she has got it
Did not realise it had a temporary disable on it, but we found without too much trouble. Thanks for the hide, love the "Runners"

ran into this one. Easy find and good one add to the daily tally of 33 from me. TFTC
We walked in from George Point Rd to collect the caches along this section of the track. An easy find and well themed. I liked the movie Forest Gump. Thanks for the cache
Bit surprised to find this cache is crossed out. We are visiting from Tauranga and decided to find a few caches along this lovely track. This was an easy find, exactly where it should be. Signed the log. TFTC
Decided to finish the year and see in the new year in Whangarei, Vistra and tikitour decided to join me and we spent the time grabbing caches around the region, in some cases it was just one that needed to sign in others it was all three of us, signed as TYV (or combination of those letters) or VY when it was more than 1 of us.
This is very close to other caches, but was told it was probably still onsite and quickly had it in hand.

I'm back up in my home town of Whangarei for the holiday period and today joined up with fellow Auckland cacher yorkshirekiwi83 and local caching friends tikitour for a hot summers day of caching around the city. The logs were either signed with our caching names or some combination of the letters T,V & Y for our caching names - depending on who had previously found the caches. As we approached the end of the day we decided to tackle the Waimahanga Track and look for the caches located along there. We left one car at Waverly St, then drove around to Pah road to start the trail. No problems finding this one along the way! TFTC!

Greetings from West Sacramento, California! Papa EGTH are on Day 1 of our 3-week honeymoon and after arriving in Auckland a little after 5am this morning, we stopped for this cache before going to our hotel in Whangarei. The contents of the grocery bag are a bit gross, but the log was signable. Thanks!
HockeyHiker19 and I were on day 1 of our geocaching honeymoon in New Zealand. We were on our way back to the care after finding Whangarei's First Letterbox and she wanted to go after this one before we headed back up the stairs. Our GPSrs were not getting a good signal so after a good 10 minutes of searching we referenced the hint and made a quick find afterward. Our GPSrs were showing GZ on the wrong side of the little waterway.
cache seems to be sharing space with a shoe and a colony ants. hmmmm tasty...... tftc
Another find for today. Getting the hang of this now. Found with PageHeart and Cache Pup
Wow, another interesting cache along this beauti track. Found after Riser5's EASTER hunt event as so very close by today . Really neat camo here .
Found with fellow cachers while on Riser5's awesome Easter egg hunt. TFTC, Salty.
Our on riser5 easter egg hunt and thought we'd find some of the other caches nearby. Love this cache! TFTC
