Toowoomba again, usual appointments, caches and lunch.
Had promised YOF that I would come and do some maintenance on this cache for him in his absence.
Had everything ready to place, Mr D came in prepared to search with me. Four eyes (eight if you count our glasses) poked around in all the forks, roots, under bark, under mulch etc. Gave it our all for at least 30 minutes. We had read previous logs, in particularly one of the most recent, so we knew where we were supposed to look.
Not prepared to put down a throw down, eventually contacted YOF and advised we could not locate the plastic bag
His decision - to archive. We did try, truly we did.
Sorry mate.

Unable to get any closer than about 9metres before bush too thick, or my compass was not playing the game. REgardless, unable to locate the hide.
What a great morning of some fun caches. My buddies have left and headed home. I have decided to stay a little longer and clean up a few more caches in the area before next weekend. I have a few puzzle caches and a couple of multi’s I would like to get as well as a couple of dnf’s to avenge.
I saw this one and thought it was not far away so why not. I found the contents very easily in the open, yet all sealed up. I looked for a container and nothing, very strange. I am not sure if this is supposed to have a container or is the bag it??? The log was dry and some of the contents were a little moist. I signed the log replaced the bag of contents between the fork and lightly covered. Thanks for the cache and the hide.
Staying in Toowoomba for a few days. A lovely winter day so we headed out to find some caches of course. No real surprise but lots of traipsing up and down hills through long grass, quite exhausting for these grey nomads.

Awesome hide, We have never been to this beautiful spot thank you. Didn’t take anything but Have left a little something for the next person.
Thank you youngoldfella for placing this cache for me to enjoy!
Found cache bag in the open with holes in it. I’m happy to replace cache container for CO over the next couple of weeks if CO isn’t available.

I lived in Toowoomba for about a decade so it was a nice trip up memory lane to drive past friends’ houses on the way to this one.
The warning signs about the shooting range were a good reminder to stay on the right side of the fence.
The GZ was clear enough, and the cache easily found, with an abandoned wine bottle basically pointing to it.
I recovered with bark. TFTC up here.

There is a tradition, right across the Multiverse, of macho law-enforcers toting ridiculously heavy sidearms, which surely represent overkill for normal policing duties. Dirty Harry had his .44 Magnum; Detritus carries a siege weapon with a two thousand pound draw.
As Detritus considers this a waste of energy if all the energy devoted to drawing back and cocking the string is only expended on a single arrow (which from a human point of view is a six-foot lance), he has adapted it still further, so that it shoots a bundle of twenty or so arrows bound together around a central core. Due to the violent force acting on them, the arrows tend to disintegrate into a cloud of supersonic (a significant fraction of local lightspeed) shrapnel which bursts into flame from air friction. The resulting fireball scythes everything in its path totally clean. Hence the name. It not only opens front doors, but frequently creates a back door as well.

It’s been a long time since I’ve cached in a pair of shorts. I got sick of being scratched and bleeding after a day of caching only for another reminder of the day when I jumped in the shower. These days I just throw on the long duds even if only drive-bys are on the cards.
We are on holiday in Toowoomba for the long weekend and caching apparel wasn’t high on the packing list. I have to share a suitcase with Mrs Woodyrothwell and most of my half of the case is already filled up with my wife’s multiple outfits.
When it came time to get in amongst it to look for the cache we all slowed up. Long pants give you the confidence to bash into any bush first and ask questions later. We pranced around because instead of looking for the cache, we were looking at the spiky plants that wanted to kill us. tftc

This cache wasn’t in the first place I looked, but wasn’t far behind it... co-ordinates are spot on... I replaced the outer bag, even though I’m not sure there is supposed to be an outer bag... tftc...
Previous hide has been removed by clearing an area under the power lines. Same co ordinates at base of a single tree on the side away from the actual walking track.
Just one more, she said, and this was it. Spent 20 minutes scratching away, staunching blood flows, and muttering. Are your ears burning? Got excited by every squashed tin and bottle, but no cache for us today. Too good for us. Our eyes are dim ... Our thanks anyway to youngoldfella.
TFTC! Well I overshot the mark a little on this one, so in to the Bush a bit further than I should have? Turned around and spotted the cache!
Found this one today on a rainy Sunday collecting some caches in town.

Hi there youngoldfella.
We wanted to attempt some more Toowoomba caches today, especially the ones we didn't manage to get to yesterday due to high muggle activity. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
We found 8 caches today & DNF'd 1. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 6m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

I was concerned at finding a large cache container, muggled and lying in the open.
The logbook it contained didn't match recent logs however, and I eventually realised that this was a missing cache. Logbook dates from 21/9/2016 to 28/9/2017.
Signed logbook in new, small cache and covered well.
Retrieved large cache to return to YoungOldFella.

Soooo much wild passion fruit vines here! . Views from around the old rifle range area are spectacular Tnsl tftc youngoldfella xo
Received word that this one could have been muggled and it was. Found mushy log book and laminated cache card. Walk down path go to your right. Look for a small group of treees. 7 trunks. Nearly 9 meters from the end of road barrier between the 3rd. And 4th post, 9 meters to the East. Now a large small. log book only.

Easy find today. A big container too which is a nice change, heaps of room for travel bugs. Unfortunately I don't have any at the moment.

Arrived to find a recently chainsawed tree and two open cache containers and lids scattered around, found the log, not the bag, hopefully rehid it securely.

We toured the town following the geocaching trail. This took us to lots of parks & places with some great views.A good variety of caches found.
Made our way to GZ, spotted the cache from the path. Took the TB to move along.

6443 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1020. When the Mrs first saw the container she thought she had found the guzunda. It amazes us that more sites don't get muggled here. SL Tnx youngoldfella

After grabbing some lunch headed along to take a look for some more caches, this was the first stop.
When we arrived Mr LHE Duo, dashed off and I think may have had the cache in hand before we even headed down the path, but we soon caught up and got it signed before replacing, and saying hello to the nearby cows on the way out.

We needed a find for today and this Cache appeared on our radar. We are on a bit of a roll, three Caches in three days, work has been causing some big dry patches and it is good to have some time off and out Caching again. We parked close by and took the short walk to GZ where we quickly spotted the hide. The log book is very dam, we were able to drain a bit of water out of the container before we replaced to lid. I think the container is not to water proof any more.
We picked up a couple of travelers from here, we'll keep them moving.
Thanks for the Cache youngodfella, we are happy to tick off another one of your Caches.

Enjoying Toowoomba and surrounds with Muff1 today. Now why would anyone think this used to be a through road???? Well a long time ago, I think it was, but not anymore. The guy we saw as we were leaving was having a hard time on his mountain bike coming up the track, so I guess it gets pretty challenging further on. SL TNLN TFTC
The road here looks as if it would go into the greenery and our maps did try to tell us it should, we wondered if it ever did. Anyway Speedmistress was already heading down the path on her way to finding the cache. Hubby did the gentleman act and dived into the bushes for us and came out with a well rounded container. An interesting area. SL TFTC
I've arrived in Toowoomba for a few days of camping and caching by myself, and now that my campsite is all set up, it's time to head out and grab a few caches. After a walk in Redwood Park, I decided to pick off a few drive-by-ish caches My second visit to this one, and today I had a better result. Was a little dark by the time I got to GZ, but the cache was easily spotted. TFTC, youngoldfella.
