As I happened to be up this way today, I took the short detour from where I was to find this cache, and glad I did. It was a nice wee walk, some pleasent and easy stream crossings, and a nice cache hide found in the exact spot it was expected. All good here.---Thanks to DarrenKeri for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
Today is a size regular dot-day. It is also a weekend, so I would normally pick something that is at the end of a long walk, something not really feasible as an after-work cache. Alas I am on call so I picked this one. I cycled to the bottom of Dowse Drive, then took a bus up. I have cycled up Dowse before, and frankly, it's a slog. Then it was a cruisy cycle down Stratton Street. Locked up the bike then a very short walk and a fast find. Nice hide by the way. The CO did use a non-waterproof container and then laid it down, pretty much guaranteeing water will get in. Which, of course, it did. But it looks like the CO thought of this and used the best waterproof paper ever made, so the wet log was not as problem. Well done.
Out and about on a "Sunday Drive" (in spite of it being a Saturday) with my other half, we ended up driving along Stratton St so naturally decided to stop and see if we could find a cache or two.
There weren't too many people around when we parked up close to this one. Then it was just a short stroll and a hop skip and jump over the brook to get to GZ. Once there we fanned out to search, and JUS3 came up with the find. Nicely placed and matching the Hint perfectly.
The log was then signed before everything was placed back exactly as found and we were back on our way again.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Nice quick find after doing a loop walk taking in Belmont Trig and the Horokiwi Bridleway.
Nice hide here.

Nice hide here.

Excellent camo and lovely area for this lonely cache. Good coordinates led us straight to it. TFTC
After my walk up to the Belmont trig I decided I had time to search for a couple more caches, this one took me a while a find using my phone GPS and spending a while walking round in circles, eventually switched to my GPSr and then it was a quick find, liked the hide, thanks for bringing me to this area, TFTC
I decided to go on a hunt for another oldie, and this seemed like a reasonable place to park and start. The bike area was quite busy, so i was glad the cache was a bit out of the way. Great hide!! TFTC!!
Pretty good coords let me to the correct location first time and despite the excellent hide something led me to investigate an object which turned out to be the cache. TFTC.
Quick find once I latched onto the hint, successfully negotiated all stream crossings, one in a single bound, and it looks as though some sort of amateur stream crossing is developing in one of them. All was good with the cache, TFTC
Quick find where all good at GZ. I was up here yesterday and the streams seemed a little dryer! After the rain so far today I’m not surprised.
Dropped wife off to mall in Lowe Hutt - I hate crowds so went for a drive. I had planned to go for a decent walk up a hill but decided I didn’t have to get wet - these days that is a choice rather than a job requirement.
Nice creative cache - hint is spot on. Earns another Favourite Point
Seems this cache has been lonely for a little over 6 months. Lonely no more.
Thanks for another smilie.

I came home early and went for a run up here. According to c:geo its only 2.6 kms from my home. However, it took quite a while to get here as there is a big hill in between.
I really like the effort that went into this one. Gets a FP from me.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.
Thank you

Back with big boots! A quick splash across to GZ, and then 30m beyond? My GPS had thrown a fit and completely muddled the location. After I'd spent a few minutes persuading it that the world isn't flat it took me directly to the cache, which I'd looked at and thought a likely place as I strode past not five minutes before. FP awarded for a nicely constructed hide. TFTC
I wasn't up for wet feet today and although I could see GZ not far off I could see no dry way to get to it. I'll come back with wellies another day.
#137 Love the cache container! Hope they show us how to make these and other ingenious containers at the Oamaru Geofest! Our 5th day of bushwalks after school to enjoy these lovely weather TFTC
Yay. We found it. Tricky one as no cell reception down there. Well crafted hide. Thanks.
A nice quick find this afternoon after a walk up to the Trig. Some good accurate coordinates meant I Zeroed in on it straight away. TFTC
Did today with Violet Butterfly and The Wandering Dragons. Thanks!

Did today with The Wandering Dragons and Astro Hunter. Very interesting. Glad that TWD got wet for us. Thanks for the cache!

Cache # 3,431 - Been looking at doing this one for a while, and today was the day with Violet Butterfly and Astro Hunter. Took the shortest route possible, which still resulted in wet feet on my part as I carried the other two over the stream each way. A very clever cache, instantly found, but still worth a favourite point. TNLNSL. TFTC!

A beautiful location, great to have an excuse to come back up here. *TFTC DarrenKeri, #9131*
Wandered up the track that follows the stream. It was starting to rain, so I was pleased this was a nice quick find, thanks to the spot-on coordinates and the hint. TFTC!
Found it after 15 min searching with helmet lights after a MTB night ride up the "4 degrees" track. Took a while to find the "out of place" item but were rewarded with very clever container. Gets a "favourite" from us.
I tried to quickly pop down to grab this one after getting the Wool Shed cache. Because I only had my sneakers on I had to gingerly make my way across the first two stream crossings, but turned back at the third and had to make my way down the road to approach from the other side. Soon quickly found the unique hide and signed the log. TFTC
I called by here this evening to turn 26 November from a foursie to a fivesie. I was expecting this to be a standard sort of cache hide and was pleased to see this was not the case. I have seen similar container types in the past but I reckon this is the best so far. My immediate reaction was "favourite point!".
Visited this area with Gilgul and UlmusLynx for a day of caching Lovely spot pity it was spoilt by Wellington's wind TFTC
Laughed when I saw the container. Found with Gilgul & Selesi. Best container of the day. Worth the wet feet. TFTC
You're an also-ran if you take the time to remove your shoes and socks before getting to GZ! The three of us were very impressed by the clever cache. My favourite of the day!
I tried this one from the second carpark - came across a (small) river. With no gumboots, and on account of me being a sook, I headed around to try and access from the south side. Upon finding another (small) river, I figured the only way was through. My son just walked through, but then kindly helped me across with minimal wet feet. After looking all around for a few minutes, I came across something suspicious. Upon further investigation I had the cache in hand. Great hide. A fave point from me. TFTC.
Nice quick cache today, after a pot of shopping and visiting the Library in the Hutt. Have been saving a couple of caches up this way, but decided I'd come out late this afternoon as I felt like a bit of a walk in the sun. Cache quickly spotted. Signs of the flooding a few months ago still very evident.
TFTC!

Found while out on a walk to explore the new cycle track. Its going to be a beauty. Well done WRC. TFTC
#1231. The family headed down the path from the carpark to pick this one up. But only two people had gumboots on so Mrs GSEL splashed across the creek to look for the cache. After a bit of wandering around she spotted something and got a surprise to find a different cache container. I decided to risk getting wet feet to join her and take some photos. Nicely concealed container. Signed the log and returned as found. TFTC DarrenKeri
I was back in the area 16 August and couldn't work out why this one was still showing on my pocket query. Ah ha, I'd overlooked logging my find of 1 August. So here's a somewhat belated log entry for my visit to this cache at the start of the mont.
There was clear evidence of the extent of the flooding in the area and I was concerned that perhaps the cache would have fallen victim to a raging torrent. Thankfully, no, not so. All intact, and out of context.
A straightforward find after some creek hopping. All in order, log signed and then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

This was going to be my dot day cache but when I arrived there was a big notice DANGER! Facility Closed. It appears this area was damaged in the floods and there is no timeframe for a fix.
Had time this afternoon, so I headed out this way. The road seemed to go on forever! Had the place to myself today. After this morning's deluge, keeping my feet dry was not gong to be an option, but neither was coming away empty handed. HAve a FP for the clever construction & TFTC.
Called here this afternoon, a very pleasant spot as always. Plenty of water in the stream today but I was still able to rock-hop across it in street shoes. Spotted the "out of place" object as I waslked towards it so it was an instant find. Nicely constructed container! Signed log, TFTC.
Nice find with Just-Lookin & Princess Emily.
Out and about finding a few caches before an event in Petone.
Good quick find - thanks for the cache.
Had a bit of a slip here and ended up with a sore neck and back!

Another fun day out with tmann421 and Princess-Emily collecting up some local caches.
A quick find upon arrival and nice container. Log signed and cache safely returned.
Okay so the sore back and neck comments by tmann were in reference to my driving skills as we were leaving. Didn't notice those big boulders when reversing out. Lucky the Corolla has a tow bar

2tf with Yosser9. A very nice container ... Thanks! It was my first visit to the park and we were hoping to take our dogs for a walk (the area is lovely) but the poor things had to stay locked in the car as we looked for the cache as dogs are not welcome here. Fortunately it was a quick find. Tftc.
#6287. FTF @ 23:10 and first day find. A little drive to the entrance to Belmont Regional Park on a warm evening. All quiet at this time. Cache was in excellent condition. Nice hide. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache.
