Its a bit like a needle in a haystack round here. Had a long search on the way in and a shorter one on the way out but couldn't locate the cache. I think its still there just ran out of time today.
New Year’s Day and I went for a ride of the tracks near the beach in the Pegasus region, hoping to pick up a few caches along the way. Ended up with 11. Had looked for this one briefly earlier. Gave it another go later in the day. Took a while to find and I was on the point of giving up. The hide fitted the first part of the hint but not so much the second part. #1584. TFTC.
Daddy and daughter day and what a great day we had. After lunch we biked from Pegasus to Waikuku and back and grabbed these two caches on the way. Thanks for the caches.
StreetWalker and I had been keeping this wee pocket of caches for a day when we had the bikes with us. Today was the day, and so set off mid morning to Pegasus with the bikes on the back of the car.
Not too keen on spiders, especially the larger ones.
This cache wasn't an instant find like the first 3 and needed the hint to track it down. Now to head back and find the caches further south. TFTC.

#14424. After getting the bikes through a mini-maze just short of GZ, it took a bit of searching to locate this one. Cache found, we turned around to head south (back through the mini-maze). TFTC.
Today's walk was about 3km up from the carpark at Pegasus. It feels great to finally be getting more and more caches off my "too lazy" list. I'm always dubious about caches where DNFs are the most recent logs, but looking back through, I see that's not unusual... so I parked up at Pegasus and walked north, grabbing the other caches on the way. Worst case scenario if I couldn't find this one, it would be a short walk from Waikuku at some point in the future. I straight away spotted a likely hiding spot near to GZ, but that turned up nothing. 2 PAFs later I was still fairly stumped. I was just about to call it quits when something caught my eye... bingo. A few metres north of where my GPS was sending me and closer to the track to where I had previously been looking, but still pretty much as per the hint. I left it a bit more obvious for the next person, but still well hidden. Pleased to have all of these ticked off now. TFTC (3447)
Beautiful day for a forest/beach walk looking for a trail of caches. Mostly successful outing - still so many muggles on a week day! Many decaying logs, many pinecones. Fewer decaying logs with pinecones. No sign of cache, widened search area, couldn't find Will be back!
Bit of a challenge here and we enjoyed that, hunted for a wee while but nailed it in the end....tftc, favourite for hiding effort.
Out cyclocaching around the Pegasus area.
I actually don't mind spiders. Even whitetails don't cause me any stress. Strange really considering most other bugs bring me out in a cold sweat.
I had no problems with this cache. It was exactly where it should be according to the GPS and hint. TFTC.

Nice walk along the trail here, we couldn't find this one today, but tree cutters nearby so we didn't look for long as we were being watched!
Had some time available this afternoon on the way north so diverted to Waikuku Beach and went for a bike ride down the trail to Woodend Beach and back. Another quick find on this enjoyable ride. Signed log, TFTC
A great day for a bike ride, and that is exactly what I did. After completing the Ashley River/Rakahuri Trail series earlier this morning I decided to pop over to Pegasus for some more cycling, and cache finding. I enjoyed the ride here, and the finds, on this short ride up to Waikuku Beach.
Many thanks for the placements Nosynel.
Many thanks for the placements Nosynel.
Had a great walk from Woodend Beach and found a series of caches. Had lunch in Waikuku and then walkes via Pegasus back to the camping. Thanks for placing and maintaining all these caches.

I needed my cache for the day, but I wanted to preferably get at least 2 to get these lighter days darker on the calendar.
So I picked here as a good idea for a wonder with me and the hubby.
We had a lovely stroll, picking up an apple each at the start of the walkway - nice and juicy!
Ended up finding 3.

Have been meaning to head up to this trail for a few weeks but was always thwarted by the weather or faulty GPS. Got here today and managed to find most with a search for one on the GPS that had been archived already and one DNF. All the rest (including 1 replacement) found fairly quickly and one where Coordinates seemed a bit out but previous logs helped to locate.
Clue of abolsutely no assistance - like saying under a rock on a beach - eventually found - phew
Quick find between muggles, out on the MTB to look for all of the caches along this path. Nice theme to these caches. TFTC
Hooray !!! At last !!
Something that has been bugging me in NZ
Spiders
Sure they are cute as a button, but those damn webs !! [:o]
I have copped a few face fulls of sticky silk in the pine forests while looking for caches
But yet again, the web threat is low compared to back home.
SE Queensland is spider central and you cannot go geocaching without getting at least one webbing in a cache day
TFTC !!!
PS: Spider's eyes reflect light in the dark like possums or cats eyes.
Shine a torch around on the ground at night back in Oz, and you will be amazed at how many spiders surround your campsite [:o]
Don't tell the arachnophobes in you family

Came down to Christchurch for the 2015 MEGA with a group of caching buddies for the weekend. My first MEGA, and it was fantastic- loved every minute, the caching, the events, meeting other like-minded crazies (sorry, I mean cachers!!!). Our group found 283 caches throughout the course of the of the weekend, so apologies for the cut and paste logs- but it's going to take me hours to log them all!!!! All logs were signed as SEAC (South East Auckland Crew), to reflect our home caching base!
HUGE thanks to all involved in putting on the MEGA event, and also to all of the Chch CO's for the effort gone to in their hides- we found some awesome caches, including fantastic hides, and cleverly done camo.... well done Christchurch, you're an awesome bunch!
Third day today, our mission being to find as many different kind of caches we could. This being done, we continues on to find some trads near to where we were staying.... and to try and get one of our group members up to cache number 2,000.
Ugh..... I hate spiders..... but I love finding caches, so I was happy that we found this one!!! TFTC.

Day three of the ChCh Mega weekend and today's goal was to make finds on as many different cache types in 24hrs...
Couldn't leave this one un-found so stopped by for a quick find... onto the next one.
Signed as 'SEAC' South East Auckland Crew to save logbook space and time.

Part of the “South East Auckland Crew” here for the Christchurch Mega. All logs done as “SEAC”. Sorry for the Generic logs…but when logging 200 in a day it can be a bit much. But thank you so much for placing all these awesome caches
Day 3 or our epic journey from Auckland to the Christchurch MEGA. The South East Auckland Crew (SEAC) was formed for the weekend and today the plan was to complete as many different cache types in one day. After lots of research and planning we decided on a plan of attack and with a few extras thrown in we completed our mission of 12 cache types in a day.
Sorry for the cut and paste log, but all the different caches that we did today were awesome, many thanks to the local CO’s for their imagination and creativity!

School holiday bug hunting! Logging this late, as apparently only one logged on phone at the time! This is a great trail for competitive mini cachers. Found with allisonnz
Lovely day today- so perfect chance to get some exercise and nab another one of this series. GPS pretty accurate for me- so nice easy find. thanks
This was No 5 for the morning. Could not find it when heading north so continued on to the last of this series and stopped on my way south again. The change of direction must have worked in my favour as it was quite a quick find then. I think that the cords are showing about 8m off (it may be my GPSr but all the other finds were right on!) to the south.
Gps seemed a tad out, but the cache was located without too many difficulties. Tftc.
Another quick find, though you dont need to cross the fence.
Plan A from last weekend, but had to be aborted, came to fruition this weekend. Kiwi Moose and I had a field trip to the North Waimak to collect some Horses, other puzzles and any caches that got in our way. Had a great day stating at 7am and finishing with a beer at 9pm. Very productive day, with most cache logs signed with initials only.
Thanks for effort put into the puzzles and the hides.

A chilly day out with Karma Reprint, finding the little boxes. Tooka a few minutes, it was well hidden. Cheers
Coordinates seemed to be a little bit out for this one, but it was probably due to being under trees and having an almost flat battery. Found after using the hint. Thanks for the cache
Found on our 25 day New Zealand South Island holiday.
Apologies for the late log but with little or no internet as we travelled and only super slow WiFi in van parks I decided to log all finds on my return home.
Stayed in the nearby van park and enjoyed our afternoon walk.

Had trouble with this one with iPhone going everywhere. All good in the end. Tftc
Had a decent search but didn;t find it. GPS was jumping all over the place and as it was getting dark we carried on.
Spiders not a big fan of these especially the bigger ones this one was ok. Cheers for the cache.
Hunted slightly longer for this one, but soon found using the hint. I don't mind spiders.
Needed to blow out some cobwebs so we headed out this way with the bikes. The plan today was to start at Pegasus and make it to Waikuku and grab a few caches inbetween. We had a great time and had a wee play at Waikuku beach and the playground and scoped out the area to bring the caravan. Lovely ride and we really enjoyed the track.
Nice quick find at GZ as I waited for the troop to catch up.
Thanks for the cache.

Still got a scar on my arm from a spider bite many years ago. No such trouble from this critter. Tftc
While we were looking a cyclist (ex Geocacher now muggle) stopped and asked if we had lost something. When we said no, he said Ah Geocaching and cycled on his way. TFTC
Scary!!! Luckily picked the right spot quickly. This was a popular spot for dogs so just watch where you put your feet. Thank you.
With the newly published 'locust' and two others to find I thought it well worthwhile to come out in the evening. Grabbed Mrs Gs wagon, loaded up the bicycle and away I went. Parked up at the locked gate at Pegasus, unloaded the bike flicked on the newly acquired ultrabright light and pedalled off into the night. After a quick find and sign of 'ant' at the start of the track it was a fast treadly to this gz..... Not so many flying bugs tonight...maybe we ate them all on Monday night?! Heaps and heaps of rabbits out and about. Cheers.
My gps just wouldn't steady down when I homed towards this cache. First it led me right past, then it led me 20m back, then 14m to the left in among the trees, then back to the north, then back to where I had dumped my bike 29m south of where I eventually found the cache! I then reverted to looking only for certain hint objects. One did attract my attention, but I was unsuccessful at first and again at second. A third search of another object near by turned up the goods. As I signed the log I then noticed that the gps had decided to settle down and was now displaying GZ as being just 4m away. Good enough for me - but why didn't it indicate that earlier? Oh well, time now to head off to Woodend to see if I can cadge a cup of coffee from the Wombles. Thanks for the cache and this mornings exercise. Cheers.
WooHoo FTF.We Ummed and Arred for most of the Day,then decide yep a Walk would be nice. But Typical for us,as we had to bide our time briefly as a Muggle Lady was Running towards us.Then it was a quick find.TFTH
