Day 7 of my fortnight+ road trip up to Brisbane eand back to Blue Mountains. A leisurely drive up. Avoiding GC power trails. Randomly driving to various spots that take my fancy. This was one of my shortlisted geocaches to visit. Arrived in time for sunrise, along with many muggles around the lighthouse. Among many selfies taken by these, heres mine to satisfy this EC requirement. Answers sent to CO whilst having a breakfast later. TFTEC igotahunch
What a place to be! All byron is such a great place! The town as the walks on the whole coast. This place was interesting to learn about, thanks for putting the Earthcache! Answers will be send later today.Cheers from belgium
#7777On a trip north with harveyt2079, staying in Byron for a few nights. After visiting the lighthouse and walking down to the most easterly point, took the opportunity to visit this earth cache. Some amazing views from up here! TFTC igotahunch
Answers sent to CO. A beautiful day at Byron Bay. Gathered the answers for this Earthcache. Thanks for bringing me here to view this beautiful sight igotahunch & Flora the explora. All good with this Earthcache.
Came to Byron, did some caches and went back to Lennox. Nice view and heaps of whales this time of the year.TFTCIronbark
This lighthouse is in a great spot like all lighthouses are. Even saw a bunch of whales while looking down below.Earthcaches arent my strength or favourite, but the answers I believe are correct are sent, and instructions said to log the find - so here it is. Fingers crossed part of my answers are vaguely close!
Bisoutje and I are on a roadtrip between Cairns and Adelaide and have now touched ground at Byron Bay, the Easternmost point of Australia. We spent our day mostly hiking around cape byron, enjoying the views over the beaches, cliffs and of course the never ending story. During our walk we were on the lookout for koala's, whales and dolphins but unfortunately found none. What we did find is a few geocaches here and there.Magnificent views. This is the Easternmost point we have been so far. We answered the questions and hope they are alright. Answers are sent to the CO.TFTC!
Found after a exhilarating early morning skydive nearby I found a park on the northern beaches side and made the walk up the PATH. I was last in Byron when I was perhaps about 9-10yo on a family holiday and remember this spot very well. As numpty tourists mum or dad had the idea to walk around the headland so that we had walked around the eastern most part of Australia. This involved a fair amount of rock scrambling and at some point the adults decided we weren't going to make it and wondered if we could turn back. Someone (was it Dad?) indicated the lighthouse was "just there above us" and we could go up. Maybe he was joking, but me being 10yo-me, did exactly that. I was off and up and probably my parents were then thinking "Oh no!" Dad definitely followed... I think mum took my brother back. But I was determined and up and up I went and did make the climb. I think this is where my love of climbing stupid hills (like the ones in the Himalaya) came from. Standing at the top this morning I had to call Dad... (yes he is still talking to me) and we reminisced. Seemed like fun at the time. Looking at it now it was definitely silly and certainly I do not recommend anyone else ever try it. I later headed down to Tallow Beach to find signage saying exactly that. (In my defence, these were not around in the 1970's.)
Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi. Staying in Byron for a week, and today was the visit to the Lighthouse. Had looked at the earthcaches details before the visit, so knew what was required when we arrived. Took the obligatory photos, and while doing that, gathered the information required for the answers.Sent off the answers and now logging the find.Gratias pro earthcache igotahunch & Flora the Explora
Great area my first time here as too rainy on Goldie but same here haha. Answers sent. TFTEC loved the area
Tftc. Logged with sunlord06Started our day with a hike to the lighthouse. Later today we are going snorkling at Julian Rocks Nguthungulli Nature Reserve. Greetings from Norwegians on vacation.
By motorhome to Byron Bay.We visit many beautiful locations around Byron Bay. We look for some caches and walk along the beach to visit unique geological locations. Thanks to all owners for showing us the interesting locationssayTeam sissifalke
We are visiting Byon Bay as part of our trip from Sydney to Cairns. The city is so chill and positive, we love the atmosphre! We climbed to the lighthouse to admire the view. We did not spot any animals... (maybe the sea was too agitated) but we did the earthcache at l'est. TFTC
Thanks for bringing us up to Australias most easterly. Enjoyed the walk up from the car park but the very easternmost track was locked off. Answers sent, hopefully these are acceptable. TFTC and adventure.
I really enjoyed the location of this earthcache even though I could see the rain coming in. It was a little later in the day so there weren't as many people around so I got to enjoy the area a little more.Answers have been sent to the CO. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:I was visiting from the U.S. and had a goal of driving all the way up to Port Douglas over the next couple of weeks. My day started in Port Macquarie and ended in Byron Bay. It wasn't as long a day as the previous one but that was okay because I needed a break. And it ended up raining, so that was its own good reason to arrive in the early afternoon. In the end, Byron Bay ended up being my favorite city of the entire road trip. Who doesn't love the beach? Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but I do appreciate you.
While we enjoyed the views from here we also found the answers of this EC.TFTC geovi
Our master plan was to start here and hike to the top and the most easternly point.Let's put it like this: at least we found a convenient parking spot. Ten bucks. However, as the hiking path was closed since two weeks, there wasn't much to do but have a photo with the lighthouse and get back down.It was a bit underwhelming. At least the view was nice and there was some exploring possible to find answers to this Earthcache.TFTC!
On holiday in Australia, caching when we can between attractions. Having a wonderful time!Made the hike out to the east point and up to the Lighthouse. Very beautiful area. Thanks for adding to our adventure!
Today we visited the Lighthouse and this earth cache in the pouring rain.I hope our answers were acceptable. Thanks for showing the place. TFTCacheld

Than I left to Byron Bay, have a little rest and late afternoon hike from Lighthouse to the very eastern point of Australia. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Czech republic. The answers were send.
I am having an amazing time on a Contiki tour travelling up the East Coast and our next stop after Sydney was Byron Bay. We hiked up to the lighthouse to watch the sunrise on our third morning here. It was absolutely stunning even with the clouds!Finding physical caches has been a challenge with such a large group, so I was glad to have an Earthcache here that I could collect the answers for while we watched the sun rise I also ventured a little down the path at the end and spotted my first wild wallaby, which just made it even better!Answers sent to the CO today (10/01/24); photos attached!Thanks!(#2102)
Today I visited the easternmost point of mainland Australia and the lighthouse.
Had to replace a nearby physical cache for Liz and Bruce and took the opportunity to find the answers for the earthcache whilst I was here.Good to come back to this location.
After a false start at the posted coords GreenGecko1 & I wandered about the blowy lighthouse area and thought these conditions were a contributing factor to the erosion on the exposed eastern cliff face. A great location and my second visit here.I remember a documentary from the Leyland Brothers who took some seawater from close to those fallen rocks in the water (the most easterly point) and they trekked westward to the Indian Ocean to deposit that sample into it.
After visiting the Burringbar area for a few days we drove to see Byron Bay and found the lookout spots and lighthouse quite a treat. Thanks for the effort with the cache.
I visited this earthcache as I headed home to Adelaide after the QOGM events around Longreach. The plan was to be away for about a month. I travelled up to Longreach via Broken Hill, Cunnamulla, Charleville and Barcaldine, camping and finding caches of interest along the way. I am heading back home via Brisbane and the NSW coast to Sydney, then across to Adelaide. However my plans are pretty loose and subject to change, often on a whim! The weather so far has been good, albeit a little warm at times. I am hoping it stays good for the rest of the trip.I have had to be quite selective with the caches I have found as there are so many that I am passing. As a result I have mostly targeted non-traditional cache types, although I have also grabbed a few Trads opportunistically here and there. Thanks igotahunch for an interesting earthcache, which has contributed to an interesting and enjoyable trip.
It is amazing what is on this CapeI got lucky and snared a car park down from the Light House which was fortunate as a real challenge to get one at the lighthouse car park Great spot and TFTC
We are enjoying travelling the east coast. Friends from Tweed drive us down here for the day, did some caches.Answers sent, thanks for bringing us here to enjoy the beautiful coast.
Well my trip up to QOGM has officially started and I’m taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there.
It has been a while since I have driven up the Hume to Sydney and some people say that it is a very boring drive but I enjoy it.
So after spending a couple of nights in Lane Cove it was time to hit the M1 and A1 and head north to the last of my target caches The Frying Pan.
After finding the Pan and a little celebration I was then in googles hands to get me to up to my next destination.
Spent the night in Taree so now back on the M1 and A1 to head to Byron Bay for the most Easterly cache and a few LGA’s along the way.
I made it to Byron and after visiting the Easterly tip you cannot go past a visit to the lighthouse as well
Thanks igotahunch & Flora the Explora TFTC.

Apologies for the late log here (13.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.Interesting stuff here, not least because I'd destroyed my trousers. I mean, a rip so long... Anyway, let's not dwell. I enjoyed my look around, an ice-cream, and the vibe generally. Also, this compact EarthCache, which didn't need a week on Google to answer; always appreciated. I got my photos and made my notes - answers coming via Messenger - before moving on. Thanks for a fun one on a busy day!TNLN-Virtual. TFTEC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.
What a great place with its fantastic views and history. Bonus was seeing all the whales. Answers sent to CO. Thanks for bringing me here.
On a road trip with Themongrel. Starting in Sydney and finishing in Brisbane meandering our way along the coast . Hopefully adding to my LGA tally to qualify for a challenge in Western Australia . Really enjoying the landscape as it’s so different from the west .

Another great earth cache, I enjoy reading about how our planet has evolved over millions of years
Here I continued my hike around Cape Byron. The view along the coast was magnificent!
Afternoon visit to Byron on our last day staying with Grandma. no trip to byron is complete without a visit to the lighthouse. i recall when i was young there were a number of goats that lived on these slopes surrounding the lighthouse, back then there was far less vegetation along the trail. luckily i had a spare coin so that Scoob could use the binoculars. Unfortunately for us the ice cream shop was shut but the kids still completed the walk down to the bottom of the hill anyway. Thanks for the cache
This weekend, jesswrigley and I travelled south to Byron Bay for a long weekend getaway.
On Saturday, we visited the Bangalow markets, Newrybar, and then walked at Killen Falls. It was then a drive along the coast via Lennox Head, Whites Beach and then checking in at Suffolk Park.
On Sunday, we started the day with a hike in Goonengerry National Park before having a late breakfast in Byron Bay. We perused the town's shops, enjoyed Suffolk Park's beach, and then returned back to Byron Bay for dinner.
Finally on Monday, we visited The Farm in Byron Bay, and then later saw the lighthouse at Cape Byron.
Today, we started out the day with a visit to The Farm, where we had breakfast nearby to the animals. Baby Warren got to experience feeding chickens and sheep, and we then had a self-guided walk around the premises. We then took a drive into Byron Bay to have lunch, and then made our way to Cape Byron where we parked at the lighthouse. We only took a short walk around the headland, visiting and snapping a photo of Australia's most easterly location. We then commenced our drive home, making a stop in Brunswick Heads before continuing our drive north.
This EarthCache was an interesting read, although it felt like the location that it brought me to wasn't specific to the geology and questions required to be answered. We had already prepared ourselves to complete the walk down to the smaller headland and beach, but perhaps this EarthCache could be improved by the addition of informative waypoints? We managed to collect a few educated responses to the rationale of the different beaches/directions and rocks, and have messaged our answers to the CO for verification. Thanks igotahunch & Flora the Explora for the EarthCache preparation and ongoing maintenance.

TFTEC We had a lovely day exploring Byron Bay. Did a lot of walking and eating. I love this part of NSW and have been here many times. It was a lovely sunny day the day we were here in June.
After an unsuccessful attempt to see dolphins yesterday, today's walk was filled with pods of them swimming along past this headland. There were plenty of whales out there today too (as circled in my photo) which helped to distract me from the puffing I was doing walking up this hill haha!
The cliffs along the way were beautiful and the view out over Byron is lovely. It's no wonder this is such a cliched walk to do here... because it's worth it!

Stopped for a bite to eat and to enjoy the gorgeous view. Off to blues today and glad to tick off a few caches.
It was a long time back when we visited on our way back from Dorrigo and it was nice to finally see this iconic spot. The weather was not kind so we didn’t see any aquatic wildlife frolicking.

Been to this point the second time in my life some time ago, forgot to log that. First time I was here was in 2003, before I discovered Geocaching. Beautiful place, saw some dolphins while we were here last. Magnificent view. Will come back when we visit relatives in the neighborhood.

Omg so windy today. And we made it back to the car just as it started pouring. Great walk down to the eastern point and beyond. Bring water! Those steps are tough.
I spotted a turtle swimming in the water.

Nearing the end of the Cape Byron walk, my wife looking daggers at me for all the steps/hills, we checked out the slopes around here and did our best with the questions, it was a bit difficult to work out which slopes were being referred to, as the published coordinates don't have views of anything? Our answers have been sent in any case.... This is a great spot, and well worth a visit.... TFTEC!

I found myself right next to this earthcache while on an Adventure at Byron's beaches today, so I spent a few minutes taking in the geology of the area. Thanks very much for the geology lesson, which I must say complements quite nicely with the learnings I received from the other earthcache here.

After an awesome weekend of caching with some great friends from the Canberra caching crew (Onieferret, Barb2E, Smittengranny, Joolay, K8TYBEE, Kittykatch and GLISS!) K8TYBEE, GLISS! and I peeled off for another week of fun travelling around Northern NSW gathering as many counties as was humanly possible. Have managed to clear up much of the state! Thanks so much for all the fun. Thanks for the cache!

Avoiding Covid places and needing a time out from work so hitched a ride with Nibletricecakes and GLISS! armed with hand sanitiser and face masks, we went touring NSW collecting counties.
We started in Canberra and spent a weekend in Bathurst with the capital crunchers then continued on North and West before heading home again. TFTC!

I found lots of caches on a roadtrip holiday up to Byron Bay. Over the course of the week, I targeted a variety of caches that worked towards different statistic-based goals. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their contributions to this fantastic recreational activity.

Today, my hosts treated me to a drive down the coast to Byron Bay, stopping at several of their favourite places on the way.
I've sent my answers to the owner. I hope they are worthy of me letting this cache become my most southerly and most easterly for what will probably be many years to come. This is my second visit here but first as a catcher. Splendid scenery here. Tftc and UTV

Passed the Lighthouse early in the morning at sunrise. Came back at noon when we took a long walk around the coast.

FP for a good earthcache.
Leaving Sweden in the beginning of January, passning Singapore on the way to Australia. Then visiting NZ before flying back home via Dubai. A trip of almost three months. Fantastic scenery and nice people along the way.

On our drive from Brisbane to Canberra we took a detour today and headed east to Byron Bay. What a beautiful area, and it was great to head to this very eastern part of our country. We enjoyed exploring some of the walks and the beaches. There was a small amount of rain during the day and grey clouds for most of the day however somehow that added to the beauty at GZ.

Thanks for placing this earthcache in such a beautiful location.
