This cache was reported as probably missing, so is now replaced with another bison tube. Good to stay!
After two recent DNF logs, went for a quick look. The cache container was missing. Replaced with a bison container in the same spot.
Took the advice in previous logs and avoided the rock wall but couldnt locate anything in any of the holes that we explored today.
Needing a U cache today to help spell FEBRUARY in February for a challenge , this cache became my focus. Im not sure how long ago I solved this puzzle and I think perhaps it was a joint effort with my daughter. The find was a lot, lot easier than the puzzle and was super quick when heeding the advise of previous finders. The old wet log is now firmly stuck to the inside of the container so I have added a new log sheet. Thank you for keeping me entertained. TFTC
Regarding this puzzle, I have done my share of Futoshiki puzzles in search of a geocache, and the printed paper, pencil and eraser seem to be the best TOTTs to work through. After a few days of working on the puzzle, I eventually had it solved on 21/02/2022 with the coordinates in hand that the GeoChecker liked.I parked on the nearby side-street and took the short walk to GZ where I began my search. I initially avoided the obvious hiding area, and past logs seemed to suggest that searching there was not necessary, but I did search much higher Terrain locations without success. I continued to search, noting the CO's former look that I needed to search a few metres away than where GZ was indicating me to be, and after giving up hope, I thought I'd keep searching various hidey holes as a final attempt, and then I found the familiar cache type. It was hidden a little further away from GZ than what I was expecting. I am not sure how there could be water inside the cache given its hiding spot, but there was water, and the log was subsequently damp. I tried to not tear / damage the logbook further, and added my mark accordingly. Otherwise, the cache container was in good shape. Thanks George Montague for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today, following the regular Saturday morning parkrun and gymnastics, I escaped for a few hours to geocache the areas around Chelmer, Oxley, and Darra. I've enjoyed travelling around these suburbs in the past, and I targeted the *Oxley* series of WaterWays of Brisbane, and the highly Favourited geocaches by [stairman1](https://coord.info/PR4R27Z). As the heat and fatigue started to get the better of me, I ended my outing with a naughty McHappy Day burger and a few geocaches in Darra, before returning home in the early afternoon.
We are now heading north to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria. Loving our time around Brisbane and around the area. Today we just grabbed a few around the area we were staying.
Had tried solving this a few times but it was Mrs Moosetash that finally got the green light. Today we headed out to find the prize. Arrived at GZ and started searching in the wrong area and after some muggles passed on through, we then were able to search, where we were rewarded.
Thanks George Montague for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

This one was quite the head bender, but finally after multiple tries and much frustration (and a bit of educated guessing) a set of coordinates was reached. When I finally saw where GZ was I had an Of Course! moment! An area I am very familiar with. A bit of searching around at GZ and we came up with the goods. Thanks for the challenge and the hide.
With the current HQ challenge completed, I can now concentrate on my own personal challenges. I had finished work early and was feeling the need for a bike ride. I headed over to Oxley way, as there was a particular cache that was and had been on my list of to do’s for a while. I had finished that and put the bike back on the car . I then saw a puzzle cache not far away that I could grab
I parked up and wondered in, I searched that wall, it is so clean now. I was about to give up when I thought I would read some previous logs. Luckily, there was a hint in one. I am going to help even more but not give the answer. It has nothing to do with the rock wall, lol.
I found the cache and signed the log. I replaced it back where I found it. Thanks for the “fun” I had here today.

After spending the morning with Geo friends caching nearby, I decided to find a few caches before heading home.
I remember coming here many years ago with a friend after a geocaching meeting at night but didn't log the find as I hadn't solved the puzzle.
Fast forward to today and I made my way to GZ and searched where we found it last time but no luck. Read the description and had to change my search location and then made the find.

Finally, finally, finally. I solved the puzzle over a year ago, but could never find the cache. We tried a few times.
But finally after some help from the CO and the previous finder we were able to locate it.
The tin was open already and the log and bag were outside the cache. I put it all back together again, ready for the next person.

I am a fan of the Master of Mystery cache series. I solved this as part of the MoM Osaka puzzle. Apart from finding MoM caches I also like to find any of the caches that make up a MoM puzzle whenever I am in the area. This afternoon I made the find of the cache in its subterranean hiding hole. TFTC

Was passing by so checked and it is still there hiding. Getting a bit lonely, too.
I have been working on this puzzle for the last few days and I just could not make it work. Eventually I used what I knew about the cache location as part of the logic and that helped me get a few more numbers out. Then I realised that I actually had all the numbers that I needed so I calculated the cache location and abandoned the frustrating puzzle.
A quick park and grab today. It’s a nicely hidden cache but it was right where I thought it might be. TFTC!

As mentioned in the cache notes, container is re-placed slightly north of where you calculate. The checker confirms the calculated coordinates.
Like the previous log, I could not find this one today either. Seems like work by rail or council may have removed or destroyed it. Will replace it soon.
Was in the area with a previous finder so thought we’d stop and have a look. After a solid search we came up empty, it has been over 1yr since the previous find.
Futoshiki puzzles were definitely not on our radar prior to Geocaching. Sure, we had done plenty of sudokus, however it took some time and patience, and many YouTube clips to really work out how to tackle this type of puzzle. They are now something we feel a bit more confident about.
Out for a beautiful spring day of Geocaching, we were able to add our name to the log for this one.
Thanks George Montague for keeping our brains in overdrive. Thanks also for the hide.

Over this way picking up a bike for our granddaughter so picked up a couple of caches. The log is a little damp but okay and the container a bit rusty and hard to open. Geohubby found this one in a place I’d already checked . Thanks George Montague for the puzzle and the cache.
I’ve looked at this puzzle for quite some time with no idea how to start... a new printer at home gave me the shove to try again... I was surprised at how quickly numbers actually started to fall out once I actually concentrated...
A very quiet New Years Day seemed ideal to approach the cache... we only got passed by once... tftc... replaced the snap lock bag...

Puzzle solved with help from GeoDad/Husband who loves numbers. So time to find the cache. An appropriate name for both puzzle and cache. Nice and quiet today, so found after a little bit of searching. Tftc.
The second of three GM puzzles in this area solved over the last month or so. I needed a little help with this one as after the 8 was placed, I seriously struggled to get a start and place the numbers. So, with a couple of digits offered up, I perstisted with the rest and eventually the grid filled up and the final coords fell into place.
With a plan to catch up with NurseyJulie later this morning, I swung by nice and early to have a look around GZ. I wasn't sure what elevation I needed to be on, but a scan of the area soon answered that question and I had the container in hand. [^]
Name added to the log, cache returned as found, I hit the road. No nosey neighbours today, I guess they were enjoying a Sunday morning lye in.
Cheers George Montague.

Unfortunately we couldn’t come up with the goods today. We definitely didn’t have a decent look because the guy from the house next to GZ was mowing and came down to check whether we had lost something (or whether he could pick up some cheap drugs). We gave everything the once over but couldn’t dedicate time for a thorough hunt. We will be back when it stops raining and the grass doesn’t need to be cut every weekend. Thanks anyway
Out for some caching fun with nikid1 on another sunny, hot Brisbane day. I really enjoy a logic puzzle & had solved this one sometime ago, it was the first time I'd seen one like this.
Nikid1 made the find at GZ.
Thanks for the puzzle & cache George Montague

Enjoyed the puzzle even though it took a while.

A gorgeous spring morning was spent collecting smilies and dodging marauding magpies south of the river. This was a fun puzzle, and an easy find in the first place I checked, just not the first time I checked it

The previous finder reported the container was rusty and hard to open. Replaced the container this morning. Thanks E_M.
Found with Callum’s help (he solved puzzle too). His second cache! Thanks George! Unloved 12+ months. No ants.
For some reason, Geochecker is not accepting the correct answer. Will investigate in a couple of days.
Out with IolantheK today. Decided to grab some random solved caches that I'd solved ages ago [^]

Once I sat down to work this out, it fell out fairly easily. With evince down o messaged the CO to confirm the coords which he kindly did.
Fun fact: I was born only a couple of hundred metres from GZ.
Anyway, I rocked up and wandered in for a quick find. As previous finders have mentioned, the ants seem to love this one.

Off to an hour caching, mostly caches in area that benefit from the company of a child or a taller person.
Fun number puzzle that was solved quickly. The location of the container took a few minutes longer than it should have. It was in the most logical place... Home to some ants.

TFTC... 22/12. An unloved one for sure but reasonably easy to find. Public path, so could be a couple of muggles passing. Unloved by all except the bitey ants.
I needed a U cache for the July challenge so solved this last month in advance. Today I had a spare minute to make the find. Took longer than it should but found it after about 15 minutes. Last spot I looked of course. TFTC
Today we decided to clear off some of the mystery caches from the bundle of solved ones we have accumulated but not et visited. I invited Nadine1989 to join in.
This is the third of our four mysteries, and what an enjoyable number puzzle it was. Executing the hunt was a breeze, although I did manage to punch in the wrong coordinates into the GPSr who took us to the wrong side of the railway line. Once corrected it was a short walk to GZ where the cache was soon located, signed and returned.
Found at 11.55am on 22nd February 2016. TFTC.

After being at the LCCH, my mum mnance101 and myself deicded to do this cache! TFTC!
Needing a puzzle cache for the January challenge, I decided to do this one. I started working on it a week ago. I had some trouble and asked my husband for some help. Finally last night I solved it. Today after being at the LCCH, my daughter pinkypie05 and myself decided to find the cache. We walked to GZ. I thought "Ok it is in here somewhere". The coordinates were spot on for me. As we were putting the cache back, a lizard came out of the cache's hole and gave us a fright. TFTC and a great puzzle!
It can be a little embarrassing when you finally do find a cache that has proved elusive. Today I finally made the find on this one, and can only applaud the CO for the simplicity of the hide. Elegant indeed. Thanks fr a champion puzzle, and a challenging hide. Most enjoyable all round, and a fave pt for you!
Well I have to now log this as a definite DNF. Sometimes you just can't see the wood for the trees.
Today was my second time here and I am still none the wiser as to where this cache is hiding. Resident muggles were getting suspicious, and the constant flow of wary passer-by's was causing me grief in the hot afternoon sun. As much as I didn't want to I reluctantly had to give up the search once again.
It is funny how much I enjoyed this puzzle and the struggle it presented. The struggle to find it was not one that I had anticipated.
One day I'll come back.

We were really chuffed when we worked this puzzle out - hadn't seen one like this before.
Little did we know that (for us) that was the easy part. We walk this way quite often but usually at a time when many others do too making it difficult to search. We visited one night when all was quiet without any luck. But this morning while walking the dog we decided to swing by here for another look and found it.

I was looking around the caching map the other day and noticing all the new listings. It was exciting to see two new puzzles by George Montague in the area. They are always great; novel, engaging but still manageable. My favourite types of puzzles, in fact. You can plug away and get demonstrable progress. They do not rely on the "aha" principle.
This Futoshiki puzzle is a great example. I had not seen this before and the methodology was tantalising. I sat down in front of it for a long while before giving up. I decided that I needed some more practice at Futoshiki puzzles so I downloaded a Futoshiki app to my phone. All of those versions were 6x6 and were a whole lot easier that this one. In fact, the very longest it took me to solve them (on the "deadly" setting) was 20minutes. This 8x8 of George Montegue is a heart breaker by comparison.
However, the practice certainly helped and I developed some strategies which was sure to help. I re-started the puzzle today and completed it in a single sitting. I was surprised how significant the 7's and 6's were to getting the final solution.
So, I headed off just before sunset to attempt the find. It was not easy by a long stretch. I spent about 20mins at GZ, often interrupted by various people walking past. Finally just as I was about to give up I spotted the hide. Like other finders I needed to grope with the tips of my fingers to get the cache out.
Thanks for the challenge, George Montague. A great puzzle worth of a favourite point from 5Meerkats.

Out for a play day with teamdfl
This one took some work to solve but I am pleased to have learned yet another number puzzle. And since teamdfl has recently done it, we had no trouble making our way to GZ. The cache took some fiddling to remove but small hands prevailed. TFTC, George Montague.

I had been out for a bit of a geocycle around Carina. This cache was going to help me with my August challenge so I decided to drive home this way and see if I could find it.
I had solved the puzzle a while ago. It was not a puzzle that I had ever seen before, so I researched it a bit. It did not take long to come up with some numbers, and happily there was a checker to make sure they were correct. [^]
A short hunt at GZ soon located the cache and I was suitably equipped to actually get at it easily.
Thanks for a nice easy puzzle and thanks for helping me complete another challenge cache.
I saw a beautiful tree in bloom near my parking spot.

Interesting puzzle!! After an initial flurry of numbers, it was a plod going through each square to test the logic. Eventually the numbers started to fall out until all the squares were filled out and had the green light.

I made a promising start to the puzzle but then things quickly fell in a heap so it was put to the side. Swellerfungus mentioned that he had solved it so that spurred me on to have another look, which garnered me one more number but that was about it. Deciding that this one would be a good grab for July I had another do or die look the other night. I was able to get a few more numbers but once again came to a screeching halt. I had identified a few squares with a couple of options and after running a bit of a what if scenario, things started to progress surprisingly well first go. In fact things went so well that I was soon looking at a completed puzzle. Not believing my luck I proof read the result and was amazed that it all fit. The checker gave me a green light first go and the coords were filed away. I was fortunate to be passing the area this afternoon so stopped of and after a brief inspection of some likely looking spots in the general area I soon had the cache to hand and the log signed. A nice thought provoking puzzle. TFTC
I solved this cache last month, but decided to keep it for my spell the month challenge this month. After work today, I met up with NurseyJulie and we made our way here. We parked nearby and wandered to GZ. Whilst I was trying to figure out where my notoriously unreliable phone wanted me to go, NurseyJulie located the cache. We signed the log and returned the cache to its hiding spot before heading back to the car.
This one had me puzzled for a little while. I had a hunch where the 8 went. On numerous occasions, I tried the solvers, and even roped in the husband. I then roped in Selva Girls to join in the fun to get our "U" for a challenge and together we managed to put it all together. At GZ, a quick scan and in the dark with torchlight, I discovered the little niche and the cache within. TFTC George Montague
Knew where the 8 goes but the rest of it was hard.
Hit and miss.
Finally some coordinates appeared.
Off to GZ after the Event tonight with Patrol14.
After a little scan about, the cache was located.
This was my last one to complete the July challenge and the 12 months of challenges.

I decided July was a good time to try a new challenge so I was happy to find a U puzzle not too far from home.
I have wasted more hours on Sudokus than I would care to let on but I have never tried one of these puzzles. The hint and a few "test runs" on simpler problems on a website were enough to get me started. This puzzle was challenging but not impossible. After about an hour or two and combining some logical and lateral thinking, I arrived at a solution that made sense.
This morning at GZ I initially searched in the wrong area but the hint left me thinking there was nowhere sensible to hide that kind of cache where I was standing, but there were many useful nooks and crannies only a few metres away.
It is not particularly busy, as other cachers have noted, so I read a few logs to narrow down my searching area and finally spotted the well hidden cache.
Fortunately I had packed some tools that I thought I might need later in the day, as the cache was quite well back in its hidey hole. I managed to get it out and was about to sign the log when a lady with a pram approached. I decided the car was a less conspicuous place to sign the log and make sure I packed it all away safely.
I've replaced the cache where it was, but not quite so far back in case the next person doesn't have a tool kit.
It is still very well camouflaged. Thanks for the challenge!

I needed to find a mystery cache for the June challenge which started with 'U'. It seems mystery caches starting with U are few and far between and this was the closest to home at 13 km away (next closest was about 30 km away). So I set about to solve this puzzle. I had never come across this type of puzzle before, but I enjoyed it, and may now solve more of these for fun Found the cache when no-one else was around, luckily as I can see it would not seem like a place people loiter around. TFTC
I found this puzzle quite challenging. it was the first of it's kind I have attempted. Enjoyed it a lot. TFTC
The Mega has reminded me about early morning caching - cool air, torchlight and no traffic. SO this morning I left home just as the sun was rising to go look for a few new-ish puzzles not too far from home.
I enjoyed this puzzle as I'd never seen one like it before. I found the eight OK and this provided some logic to look for other highs and lows. After a bit more scratching and a few assumptions, some more numbers appeared.
This morning I arrived at GZ from the other side and ducked under to get to the other side. It appears the neighbours were up but behind high fences. I looked high and low before consulting the hint. That eliminated a few spots so I looked more carefully till I spied it.

What a novel and enjoyable puzzle! Solved and got the OK from the checker (which I can't say for all your puzzles ), but I'm not sure when I'll get to Brisbane to find some of these ... Still wanted to say thanks for the puzzles all the same. Cheers!
Ah, another George Montague puzzle. There are two actually!
Upon the release of this and your other mystery, I decided this would be the easier of the two to solve. I read over the rules, and had a good idea of how to go about it. Probably not in the way you intended, but a pretty decent amount of effort went in. My method still provided some problems (human error), though I eventually had a set of coords that Evince agreed with.
Fast forward to today, and I needed something to wake me up from an aweful nights sleep. Being the closest solved and unfound cache, I made my way over and set about looking at the familiar area. I'd been through here during my early days of caching on foot. There were a number of good spots I decided to check out, none of which turned up the goods. I was on my knees in fact when I heard someone pull up behind me. There was a guy on a bike, wondering if I'd lost something. I gave him a brief explanation of what I was doing, though he seemed disinterested, so I let him pass. I decided to be a little less conspicuous about my search, despite the area not having much traffic. I took another look at a spot I'd removed a dirty needle from some time before, and noticed the light reflecting a little differently from within the shadows. I pulled out the cache, and set about signing the log.

Sorry about he mix-up. Yes D and T were the wrong way round! Fixed now, and George will go and stand in the naughty corner.[B)]
I awoke early to the news of KUW's discovery: good stuff! I decided I would head back anyway to see if I could do better than yesterday.
When this one was published, I was at a conference on the other side of Brisbane, and had to wait for a long time to get home and print out the sheet. I had to go out again but after skimming through the instructions, I found a place to have a coffee and get into it. It seemed rather more difficult than I expected, but I struggled on, until I suddenly realised I had too many numbers left in a row. Yes, I must confess I had gone into automatic sudoku mode and had been trying to solve it with numbers all the way up to 9. D'oh! I think that this is probably one of the most spectacularly wrong approaches to a puzzle I've yet taken, but I did get a laugh out of it.
Anyway, once I'd printed out another back home, I got most of the way through, but made a mistake in fading light and FTF pressure, and somehow lost my way again. Printout number 3: nice and slowly does it, and this time it all played out. I was very surprised there were still no logs, so headed over close to 10pm or so. The Terrain of 3 led me into some 'interesting' positions and I soon noticed I was being observed by a couple from within their yard, who were basically standing and staring at me. Time to leave before a shotgun was produced, I decided, and headed off.
KUW's log suggested I needed fewer acrobatics, but I couldn't resist a couple anyway, before adopting a systematic search which almost immediately led to being able to touch the container but not see it. I then found it difficult to extract but long fingers were helpful... Need to be very careful not to push it back in too far, but at last I could sign up and replace.
Quite a few cyclists came by this morning but thankfully I wasn't caught in the act. TFTC and nice puzzle, George.

Not sure if there's been an earlier visitor or not... I arrived at a likely GZ but after a bit of a scout around by torchlight, noticed I had attracted some attention from neighbourly muggles who were no doubt wondering what I was up to. Might have to leave this one to a night ninja who's prepared to be very stealthy indeed, or else return at first light.

I got to 100 FTFs a while back and decided that that was probably enough. I do like puzzle caches though, and I had looked at these 'less than' constraints while working on Sudoku Prime, and ... well why not have a crack at it. So once the little fellow was asleep I set about solving the puzzle and soon had some numbers that the checker was happy with.
Being a bit out of the night races it took me a while to find my torch but when I had it I set off. I had looked at the Google Map and my phone was agreeing so I got to within reach of the cache and then started playing 'think of the places the hide could be'.
Now I have read a couple of GM logs and I know he can be pretty adventurous (See 'Middle of Nowhere' for example) so I reckoned a T3 must be over (and not under) so I go up to the over where you don't need to get under the fence and had a good look. Hmm nothing. So I go up to the over where you do need to get under the fence.... Still a lot of nothing.
Obviously, that means that the cache must be on top of the wall which is really over... I figured that there must be a gap up there which would hold a mint tin. So I edged across that bit feeling the top of the wall for the gap that must be there.... nup, ok edge back...
So I sat down (a little sweaty by now because it was a humid night) and puzzled a little bit more, and decided that maybe the puzzle was a little harder than 1.5 and maybe the D and T were swapped, and maybe that would indicate the cache would be just there... and there it was.
Thanks for another fun puzzle and cache George!
