Thought you had us walking the plank there for a while! Lovely views, thanks for the adventure.
SNOT. It lines your mucous membranes and helps trap and destroy or clear out germs and harmful particles.Pretty much what the fresh air on Norfolk doesYup So the sun and the moon were in the sky not at the same time while I was here. The tide was coming and going. There was a lot to do hereRembrandt Im not definitely of the naive period so find my masterpiece attached. Thank you TeamAstro for educating me that SNOT can be pleasant Ill never think of SNOT in the same way!
Spending some time on Norfolk Island and took the time to collect a couple of caches while here. Collected the information for our SNOT and proceeded to sketch out our plan which is included in our log. Thanks for the earthcache TeamAstro - awarding a FP for this one.The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football
We visited GZ this morning before departing after spending the week at The Ballroom Dancing Festival. this was a definitely a different type of earth cache task. tested out our drawing skills.
Contributed to the Norfolk Island SNOT drawing together with goingplaces2. Just hope it passes the test.We spent a fun and productive week geocaching on Norfolk Island, as well as seeing the spectacular views. We also did several tours and other activities on offer, which highlighted different aspects of the island life and history. Thanks for this cache.
Well, the best we can say is that at least we tried to do a SNOT diagram, but it is not as good as we would have liked. The view was great though. Thank you to TeamAstro for the artistic challenge.
Tide-high at 6.58am, falling tide to low at 1.38pm, at GZ 10.56amSun-north eastMoon-nearly full This cache helped me contemplate the awesomeness of tidal forces on an igneous rock, also the scale of rugged coastlines.A fav from mePics sent. Thanks TeamAstro

Frazeydaze and I visited gz twice today during our geotour on Norfolk Island. Our observations follow Morning visit at 9.25am.Position of sun = 70NETide height = Ebb tide = 1.4m Afternoon visit at 3.25pm.(Because we wanted to capture the colours in the cliff face).Position of sun = 271NWTide height = Rising tide = 0.6mThanks for this earthcache TeamAstro.
Oldmorty and I visited GZ to discover a spectacular sight. We arrived at 9.25am where the sun was positioned at 70NE and the tide was an Ebb tide of 1.4m.With not much of a glow from the iron rich clay loams, we decided to visit in the afternoon, at 3.25pm.At that time the sun was positioned at 271NW and the tide was on the Rise at 0.6m.Norfolk Island is certainly a lovely place to visit.
Thank you for this earthcache. It is a stunning location. Here is my rudimentary drawing. The sun was low in the sky & the moon not visible at the time of the drawing (late afternoon).
Found on the 20th. Drawing has never been a strong point of ours. This log has been a challenge, but the location is just fantastic. Thanks Team Astro.
#6085I arrived at the GZ for this earthcache at around 3pm to finding lots of our group SNOTting away. It was a beautiful afternoon with the sun shining out to the west although a little cloudy. No moon was visible to me. Not actually knowing, the tide appeared to be high judging from the water near the base of the cliffs. What a beautiful spot this is and a lovely way to spend some time at this magnificent view.I learnt lots of interesting things from this EC. One thing is that Norfolk Island is made of basalt lava which erupted between 3 and 2 million years ago. It's been here a long time. Thanks for this EC TeamAstro. The logging tasks were different to the usual and most enjoyable. Adding a FP to your tally. ??????
A fantastic afternoon with the charcoals and sketch pad. The easel blow over a few times and was a bit awkward at GZ so relocated a little easy. Some muggles watched as ADI and I sketched, erased and smudged a few interactions. Interesting spot and exercise I normally dont have time for. The last major one I did was Mount Cook many years ago which took a couple of hours. TFTC
#7605 NI Day #4Having rounded up all the caches around the Cascades area earlier in the morning, it was time to work our way up the west coast. Spent quite some time here enjoying the views and working on our sketching skills. Left briefly to attend an event at Puppy's Point and then returned to watch the sunset. Unfortunately the clouds rolled in and obscured the final moments and then came the drizzle. Time to head back to our accommodation to prepare for our progressive dinner.TFTC TeamAstro
A novel and challenging earthcache visited with MummyPenny on our Norfolk geotour. Thanks TeamAstro.
My buddies: bella at waggyNorfolk is gorgeous!A wild & windy afternoon with b@w!! The easel kept toppling over, which was super frustrating! Some muggles watched as b@w & I drew, erased, and smudged our way through the sketch. It was a fun and an unusual exercise! b@w's creativity really showed here! I was the assistant! We also spotted another artist nearby, crash2079Thank you TeamAstro, for creating, placing and maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.Follow my story on Instagram @AlphaDeltaIndigo
After a full day of caching we headed to Puppy's Point for Brewmaker's sunset event for our NI GeoAdventure group. On arrival there was quite a group sitting on the hillside drawing their SNOT sketches and discussing the geological features in front of us. This really is a great spot to clearly see the different layers of Basalt that have been deposited.Today, 22nd May, 2024 -sunset 5.01pmmoon not visibletide low at 1.12pm and incomingphoto taken 4.02pmdrawing completed and photographed back at "home".I've been to other places on the Pacific volcanic rim, the most notable being Balls Pyramid which is part of the Lord Howe rise another volcanic rise in the South Pacific. It is also a great place to see Basalt deposits.TFTC # 6038
Walked out to exact point of GPS location. Really scary and windy. Wont do that again!
#7473-On a very blustery day in Norfolk we headed this direction to do some caches and look along the coastline. Thanks for the geology lesson. My sketch is pretty basic with a few of the main areas added. Thanks
Windy windy windy, but simply amazing view. A very close call for my hat which blew up, got stuck on a tree branch, with rescue obstructed by a large spider in its web. MaxAdventurer came to the rescue with a long stick. No spiders were harmed in the rescue of the hat ?? .
That was a different kind of EC to complete. The views from GZ are fantastic. It was late afternoon, with the sun making its way towards the horizon, but there was enough light to get some good photos. I felt like I was on the edge of the world at one stage. BTW, that Cliff Edge guy is dangerous. Take care. TFTV
What a wild and scenic part of the NI coastline. Very high cliff here, with the swell pounding the rocks at the cliff base. ?? TFTEC Team Astro
The scenery along the west coast of NI is more rugged and scenic, with high cliffs being pounded by the ocean swell. Great view from our clifftop vantage point. Sketch by EH & MA. ?? TFTEC Team Astro
#14386 15:55The second day of Geo Adventure 2024 with a group of 30+ geocachers visiting Norfolk Island. Roaming around the island for a few days, a smaller group decided to tackle some caches in the South West first.Together with 4Rods, Ziggau, Everest High, Tardis, Max Adventurer and Brewmaker this cache was found. But there was still some home-work to do. Very original and worth a FP for that very reason! Attached my SNOT drawing.TFTC TeamAstro.
This was a fun way to complete an earthcache, I spent a little bit of time relaxing on the picnic table to complete this. Some stunning views here.
Day 5 of my Norfolk Island adventure. I can understand why people want to live here . Its a little bit of paradise. Wow so much history on the island, Im enjoying my wandering seeing the sites . Some logs signed as N2OThis is my 12113find.Thankyou TeamAstro for placing and maintaining this cache
Over with IolantheK from Brisbane celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary [^]Out for another day of caching up the west side of the island this time.Got to GZ (IolantheK not happy) picked an orientation for the Field Sketch see Info/observations:Date/Time: 9/10/2023 16:52Tide: HighPosition of sun and moon: Sun still 2 hours off sunset, moon waning crescent (not visible).Ocean State: swell approximately 3m and roughWhat I have learnt: Lots of observations can be made, but it is hard to interpret the data.Field Sketch and photo attached.TFTC TeamAstro
T-Tech and I are visiting Norfolk Island for our 40th anniversary. We arrived from Brisbane and are staying for 2 weeks at Endeavour Lodge, and plan to get some R&R, see all of the sites, learn the history, and gather every cache here so we can claim the Se Dun Challenge Today we had a leisurely start with a visit to the Show followed by a wander through town and a coffee at our favourite cafe. The plan for the rest of the day is to visit Bombora Beach, Crystal Pool, 100 Acre Wood, Headstone Point and St Barnabas Church, gathering caches along the way.T-Tech wanted to visit GZ so I tagged along, but I admit I was too terrified to take note of anything clearly. He took the photos and noted details and has drawn our picture. As to the requested comments:the Sun was 2 hours off setting so shadows were long.the Moon was not visible but it is a waning crescent.the tide was about 40 minutes before the high of 1.4m and the swell was about 3m and rough.Attached are 2 pictures:T-Tech's drawing with my extra title "Earthcache Nightmare" and my photo of GZ after I had crawled back to safety [B)]TFTEC, TeamAstro.
Find # 10499Day 3 in Norfolk, here for a week of caching fun with geofriends Joolay, barb2e, StrangeTrousers, and iPlod. Zoom zoom zooming around in Kermit (green not red) Logging as DEMCBR.Wild and wooly weather here again today This was a not so quick exercise here at Norfolk Island SNOT today. Feeling like I was a little precarious with a strong wind buffeting and very steep slopes on either side. The sun was almost directly overhead, the moon not vision the sky, very overcast day. The spur I was standing on was East/West, and the bays in front and behind were North/South. The cliffs I was photographing were to my north. Thanks so much for the many caches TeamAstro and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light
# 8980 A late log for Norfolk Day 2, where myself, iPlod65, Joolay, barb2e and contesta had a fantastic day of caching and exploration. There are so many wonderful locations here on Norfolk.A beautiful location but a bit windy today. Gathered the info. Sun was directly overhead but the moon was not visible. Sketch attached on behalf of iPlod65 and myself. Others in the group have done their own. Thanks TeamAstro for the Earthcache
After carefully picking our way towards gz, trying not to succumb to any holes, we had a good look at the cliffs. The time was about 2.30pm so the sun was overhead. The moon was not in the sky and the tide was pretty high but did not cover the rocks. It had been low tide at Emily Bay at 9 30am that day. It was a waning crescent moon at that time so suspect that it was not a very high tide period. Not much surf break.Interesting to see the layers of basalt and tuff with the heavy load of loam on the top. With the help of a photo or 2, we drew our sketches. Fun approach to an earth Cache. Tks for bringing us to this amazing view. Tftc
This was a pretty cool and interesting trying to work out the separate parts.Sun overhead and fairly overcast. Moon not in sky, its currently a waning moon. Tide reasonably high. How exciting to be at Norfolk finally. This has been the plan for so long. Came to the spot with wazza9 today, a beautiful sunny day, no surf, looking north. I will draw the SNOT back on the mainland from the photos taken, done. A very interesting earthcache. Thanks for bringing us here TeamAstro.
TFTC,
Day 6 on the Island and back into some walking to caches. Our first area is to walk the loop track within 100 Acres.
What a great location and story.
Oh yes the EarthCache requ requirements. I have taken a lot of photos and will do this at a later time from home.
Visited trackables and added a note to my diary for Monday.

On 15 October 2022 a new batch of prisoners were shipped out of Brisbane to spend 7 days incarcerated on Norfolk Island. It has now been 3 nights and 4 days into their sentence at Ocean Breeze Cottages.
The prisoners have made several unsuccessful attempts to find escape routes from the Island.
Today the guards dragged the prisoner out of bed early marching him out to Headstone Reserve. The prisoner was forced to walk out a narrow path flagged by steep cliffs on either side. The prisoner thought this was the end having noticed the memorial to those who perished nearby many moons ago.
However once at this location the guards informed the prisoner he was to undertake a geological assessment of the location and provide a SNOT report to be submitted to Governor Astro back on the Mainland.

TFTC Thank you for creating this earth cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
What an interesting name for an earthcache, we believe that we have fulfilled the requirements to give us this smiley. Well as it was an overcast day we cannot objectively say for sure where the sun was but we assume it was in the sky above us somewhere and as it was daytime the moon also was unavailable to be seen. It was mid afternoon on the day of our visit and the tide was low approx at 2.30 pm as the glass bottom boat had launched when we were at Emily Bay. We have learnt, as per the sign in our photo, not to go to close to the edge and that no matter where you are on NI the scenery is delightful.

Norfolk Island and Sydney trip, Day 7, Norfolk Island, Hundred Acres Reserve and surrounds.
Photo attached, answers sent to CO. No sign of any wave action, sea is very flat today.
The entrance to this area has large potholes, which we weren't game to traverse in our little car, so we parked down the road and had an extra walk.

DNF'd on the traditional "Home by the Sea" next door
so decided to drop in here for a look.
Snapped a couple of photos of the locale and break.
First day on Norfolk, and this ended up the first cache on the island.
Approx 2.40pm - approx 2 hrs after a high tide of 1.22m at 12:50pm
Passing showers but clear skies at the moment.
Photo and sketch added
Nice views - but as we were to learn ... there's plenty of them on Norfolk

Found while heading over with the family to get some lunch over near Anson Bay, got quite a few caches and also BUCKETED down on with rain, despite the rain we still had an amazing time in this beautiful area.
Hopped out of the car in the pouring rain, raincoats on in an attempt to stay dry. Arrived at GZ to be amazed by the cool landscape. Took some photos, got all the information we needed and headed back to the car. My dad (lee737) will have the sketch in his log.
TFTC TeamAstro, FP for the really cool scenery.

With the Se Dun challenge in mind, we set off to clean up the west coast this morning, before a lunch at Anson Bay. The weather started off good, but soon the grey rolled in, then a few scattered showers, then some steady rain, so we ended up wet, but with 18 finds for the morning.
We were glad this was an observational EC, as the rain was worsening, but we got to GZ and made our obs. Sketches logged.... TFTC!

We’re having a lot of fun while exploring and discovering the island.
This morning we visited this location and it’s heavily overcast, (no sun or moon today) a bit drizzly and quite windy and the waves were pounding the cliffs. We learnt that Norfolk Island is part of the same ridge as NZ. Not surprising.
Thank you for setting up this earth cache.

Spending the day caching around Norfolk Island between a few showers. We covered quite a bit of the island and traveled along many of the minor roads.
Thanks to the COs who have placed hides on the island as well as Endeavour3 who has many caches, as well as maintaining the caches of others.
What amazing cliffs and bays over this side of the island.

Aquilus1 & I came to Norfolk on a 48 hour mission....ALL OF THEM. This was achieved with reasonable ease...though the last one really was hard at the end of 2 hot humid days!
Took a photo of this and drew once I had access to paper....done with traditional GreyHams purple!

will Add photo and fix details just keeping the logging up for now. We visited at 12pm and although a little cloudy the sun did pop through when the clouds passed over. A few waves but it was really calm but the photo shows it best... more later.
Trip log: Norfolk Island... Not something we had been planning to do but with GreyHams noticing travel here was starting up again, a good deal on flights and that this would count as a new caching 'country' this was indeed a very tempting location to visit.
Puzzles were solved, our double vaccinations certificates ready to go. A last minute change in the entry requirements added our PCR tests... but we arrived.
We had a challenge to collect as many of the caches as we could in the 48 hours we would be on the Island... A caching trip, but one that guided us around into every hidden gem the Island had to offer. All its beauty, history, scenic and quirky... and moisture! Humidity that sucked the energy out of every pore as we sweated our way about, but it was awesome!
An event the first evening was fantastic to meet with endeavour3, a wealth of local knowledge and assistance... both caching and the local area. It was great to confirm details, amend as needed and with a few DNFs help us back on track.
An honourable mention to the cows, especially the one that licked all over the car, the feral chickens (but not the roosters that wake up far to early and noisily) and the very friendly waving people everywhere we went!
Thanks for your cache that helped guide us about, and can all the caches be found within 48 hours... I'm very pleased to say that yes we could!

We had visited Headstone Reserve with mrandmrschosen and Team Welsh on 16 July, just in time for some of the worst weather we encountered in our week on Norfolk. Managed to take a photo but decided to return on a nicer day. Came back this afternoon when the visibility was better to complete the requirements. One hour and 10 minutes before high tide, and still plenty of rocks showing at the base of the cliff. Thanks for the interesting earthcache.
Answers sent and response received. First visit was just as a thick shower came through, photo taken beforehand. We went back last night for sunset, and it was a good show, with clouds only around the horizon and high overhead.
Thanks for the Earthcache

Visited Snot 17 July 21 at approximately 5pm no visible sun or moon but over cast and very windy with a good surf pounding the cliff face. Slips visible on the upper clay loam. Attached is a very crude sketch from GZ
Haven’t downloaded photos yet but will do shortly. Just putting this in order of finding.
I didn't quite get to 0m on my gps. It seemed a bit scary! We were there about 11ish and the sun wasn't directly on the cliffs so it was harder to see the differences than it would have been later on. We were looking north. Sketching is not my forte but I have made an attempt! Thoroughly enjoyed stoppin here and learning about the area. Thanks for the earthcache.

43rd and final (for this trip) find on Norfolk. 11.50pm
Beware of Cliff Edge.
Doing one final lap of the island before returning the car and jumping on a flight home. I figured this would be a fitting final cache.
Looking west, a light breeze here this late morning with the sun almost directly above. Unless it’s behind one of the clouds occupying about a quarter of the blue sky, the moon isn’t visible. Though, at the moment, it is only a small slice in the sky, as seen star gazing last night. Learnt a bit about Headstone Reserve (the habits of the Ghostbirds and the fate of the Coprosma.)
Pretty choppy surf below with waves crashing onto the hundreds of rocks below the steep cliff faces adorned with pines and other small plants.
43 finds in 3 days with a strike rate of 98%. My days and nights were definitely well filled. I had a great time on the Island. Should be back some day in the future, maybe to even tick off the Se Dun challenge cache.

We went to the location of this earthcache and observed. The water was very calm with small wavelets breaking. The sun was behind a cloud in the West. The tide was quite high. It was 2.30and website said high tide had been at 12.10. A barge and a small vessel were anchored offshore as shown. Thanks for the geology lesson. We could see the layers at this location. TFTC
Oh dear, needing to make a drawing and no good piece of paper, so I took a photograph and later used photoshop to make some scribbles. I hope this will suffice. I can't comment on the moon or sun, as it was a wet day and the sky was heavily overcast. My attempt is attached. TFTC TeamAstro.
We had a lovely week away visiting Norfolk Island towards the end of last month. Loved exploring the island, learning the history and culture and of course finding geocaches. ??
On a trip to Norfolk Island and we are trying for the Se Dun challenge Cache.

Cheers CO for cache
Today we had a very wet, windy and black ominous clouds were around, only fools or geocachers would be out on a day like today. So have no idea where the sun was, however it was a bit after noon. We learnt along with previous viewing of the local scenery that NI had at some stage an extremely violent volcanic beginning. I also learnt I can't draw and I am cold.

Had great fun with this. Visited twice and spent ages doing our homework. I won’t publicise the answers except to say we decided to name the cliffs The Ramparts Of Norfolk as they are as forbidding to invaders and protective for the ‘insiders’ as the Ice Wall in Game Of Thrones.
Bring paper and pencil to draw a picture!! Hah!! I failed art miserably in school so I hope my "doctored" photo will suffice. It was an extremely foggy day and a bit drizzly and gale force winds, so I was pretty quick in and out to take this picture. FP awarded for the location - be magic on a fine day - and for a different type of Earthcache.
We had a fabulous week on Norfolk Island trying to achieve the challenge of finding all the caches there at the same time visiting the many and varied gorgeous locations.
We came out here late in the afternoon and there was some cloud around.
My apologies for the late log as I have beenenjoying myself in New Zealand after returning home from here. I must also apologise for the quality of the sketch as I did it on the back of used paper.
Many thanks for drawing our attention to this sandstone area so unlike the southern area that is mostly volcanic.

Justjessie and I made a late decision to spend a week holidaying on Norfolk. A quick check of the caching map revealed the "Se Dun challenge" The local term for completing something, so we set about "completing" all 53 caches on the Island. Can't be that hard can it....?
Headed out here to have dinner watch the sunset and check out the cliff.... Justjessie sent in the picture.
Each log has a random picture from our time on the Island, we would recommend it to other cachers as a great way to spend a week, getting to know the Island the people and their heritage.

Squeezed in a trip to this GZ after a strenuous walk out to Bird Rock. Grateful there was very little wind out on the narrow headland, especially with the clear evidence of a recent landslip narrowing the path further. Rather overcast, so the moon did not show itself. The sun was pretty much straight above and it was low tide. There was a sea creature on the horizon which gives scale nicely. Have attached my masterpiece which showcases my paint skills and that I have learned to observe layers in the cliff faces. TFTEC!
Mrs S does not do heights. Specially ones like this. So it was up to Mr S to risk his life, out on the windy, rain soaked ridge.
Weather today is horrible. Neither the sun or moon would dare come out on a day like this. There was maybe a dull glow above us, so as it was 13:00 hours, deduct DST and it must have been the sun, so he was looking due North. There was some marine growth showing on the rocks, so the tide must have been on the low side.
Spotted the Waka under sail. Also Air New Zealand appeared through the mist and just skipped over the cliff. Heard no bang, so he must have found the runway.
Thanks for the stress Team Astro.

Visited your earthcache at about 5.45pm. The sun was just starting to set but no moon was visible. The tide was heading towards low -scheduled for 7.18pm that night. I learned some more about rocks in the area and weathering has played a very important part. TFTC
Visited this earthcache and have attached all the answers etc for myself and misschief18. What a stunning location made even better by the setting sun casting a glow over the ocean and onto the rocks - magical! Thanks so much
opppps .....had to send the file as it is a PDF

As a special needs school teacher I try to avoid SNOT at all costs... but I'll make an exception for this cache We arrived at GZ just after the full tide and it was absolutely beautiful in the morning light. We spent quite a while here just admiring the landscape and taking photos. Thanks so much for the interesting geology lesson.
With all forms of writing implements to be completely missing in this house and a PC at my disposal I figured the easiest way would be to a photo edit. TFTC TeamAstro. FP for the idea for this earthcache
Day 4 of our trip to Norfolk Island as we continue to explore this lovely island collecting geocaches as we travel.
This was our last cache for the morning and sort of topped things off. We have walked up and down hills, through scrub and long grass, been dived bombed by birds and now we have to draw a picture!!!
This job definitely went to Mrs SKI as both of us failed art at secondary school, but she by less than I did.
In the end we enjoyed the task and the Field Sketch in our opinion is quite a good likeness for the photograph we took at the same place. The Blind Institute has confirmed our opinion!
Thank you Team Astro for an Earthcache to add to the puzzles on the island.

We visited this Earthcache site in the early afternoon at approximately 13:30hrs
It was a clear day and the sun was high in the sky. There was no moon visible.
High Tide was predicted to be at 15:00hrs at a height of 1.5m
The distinct layers were very evident from this angle, as was the sheerness of the basalt areas.
While the surf was not overly rough, it was quite windy during our visit.
Thanks for this Earthcache Team Astro. A very different was of getting the viewer to focus on the features.

Went here on our first full day on NI (15 Oct) but submitting the log today due to poor internet.
As this was our first experience here I can't comment on the tide, as it could have been low, falling or rising. It was not full, thought. lol other details are on my very poor diagram. While doing the required task, a muggle approached me and asked if I was sketching. As I heave no artistic ability, I said I was making a very rough diagram for a project.
Thanks for giving as a good reason to loiter in the area; we would have visited, but sitting he makes you appreciate the view a lot more than just getting out and taking a quick photo. TFTC, Team Astro

Hi TeamAstro....
I found it a bit scarey getting to gz..!
Couldn't see a barrier....
Anyway thanks for bringing me here ; and it sure is a very different idea getting us all to make a sketch !
Enjoyed looking at all the various ones ! All so different !
I think the annotated photo ones are pretty cool !
Moon wasn't out this afternoon.... but was a full one later when I went on the Ghost Tour .
Sun set in usual place about 5.30.
Thanks for making this earthcache to show us all the special features of the area !

Oh the agony! Had to dredge back nearly 50 years to Geology/Geography Field sketching. Very bad at drawing but did learn something at Uni and hope that long lost skills have re-emerged sufficiently to make sense of this great area. If the photo of the sketch did not make it through Message Centre let us know and we will re-send when we get back to Tassie.
Loved the views and the area.

Thursday. Day three of our fabulous week on Norfolk.
What a spectacular view! Walked out onto the escarpment, did the requested SNOT, results are attached Now logged after permission from the CO.
This was the 4th of 12 caches found on today's meanderings.
Thanks ***TeamAstro***, for showing us this place.

My drawing skills being appalling, I have uploaded an annotated photograph of the view north of the listed coordinates. Although it was overcast and the light not perfect, I was able to discern the different layers and learn about the geological makeup of this fascinating island.
Thanks TeamAstro for setting up this earthcache and bringing me to this stunning location.

TaurusSix and I were at the GZ, balancing carefully in the strong winds to obtain this sketch.
The is was past noon so the sun was to the left. The moon had not risen yet. The tide, I cannot determine actuarily, but appeared near high. The winds from the west were creating a rough sea and plenty of waves.

Only some of us are blessed with drawing ability - I am not one such. A lovely spot and the exercise certainly made you note details that you would not have noticed.
Woisträßler are on a 3 and a half weeks holiday. Via Istanbul and Abu Dhabi we flew to Melbourne. Next day Ayers Rock, back to Melbourne and via Sydney to Norfolk Island .
This Island is so beautiful!
Today is our second day here and our first day of the holidays without a flight! So just relaxing, enjoying the nature, the amazing views and find some caches along the way
Heavy rain here as we arrived. We used the additional Waypoint to draw our sketch. I know why I am not a geologist, because my drawing skills are miserable, hopefully it counts!
Thank you very much for hiding and maintaining and greetings!

Out in the south west corner of the island today to visit the headstone reserve and drive through the fig trees again. Had a lovely afternoon on this cliff line sketching this picture in the waning light
Spent a great week on Norfolk Island. Decided to find all the caches and as it is a small island geowife and I thought we didn't need a car. Thought we might need a bike but in the end walking was fine. 133 km of walking. BTW Oztopo v8 is about 1km out so can't be relied on at all for NI. Many, many thanks to endeavour 3 for all his work.
Onto Day 3 now which was 29.2 km of walking. This was the last cache of the day and a very windblown spot (as were most of them!)

During our visit to the island our aim was to locate all of the caches including the Earthcaches. There were many interesting and picturesque places we visited that we would have overlooked had we not been geocaching.
We have completed several earthcaches to date but none previously that required a sketch so this was an interesting exercise which required us to note the details of the landscape in order to complete the requirements of the sketch.
Thanks for sharing the secrets of the island TFTC.
