A little bit of jump around the rocks to finally find it but I found it in the end. The hint was correct. It did help.
Good find. Phone was jumping around a bit but we found it at the end. TFTC
This spot is amazing! Thank you for encouraging me to visit here, awesome hiding spot too
TFTC! Like previous finders have written, all nice and dry, log book kinda full but still plenty of whitespace beautiful location!
On day 2 walking the Leanganook track. A very misty day which made the rocks stand out, and given it was early, no muggles about. Nice easy find.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Put bushwalking with OnieandScoot today. Beautiful spot for a flask of tea in the sunshine. TFTC

Hi there Mainebirds,
Just wondering if you have noticed the recent log by 'Berniejames' (30/Jan/2023 ) which indicates this cache is OK and available to be found/signed?
Please remember that cache maintenance arrangements need to be proactive, not reactive. This means **regular** visits (by the CO) to check on the cache and not relying on or expect passing seekers to fix issues or replace missing caches.
Even though things may seem OK, there is still a need to remove the "Needs Maintenance" attribute - see here: [**Removing the Needs Maintenance Icon.**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) and then Enable the cache - see this link: [**Temporarily Disable and Enable**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235) .
**I've Enabled the cache and removed the NM attribute for you on this occasion.**
**JUST A TIP:-** In case you are not aware, there is a Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own. Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD)

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Mainebirds for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

The cache is still in its hiding place. The logbook is a bit messy. It is set up like one log to a page, so it appears full. However there is room for later logs (like mine) to be squeezed onto a page with not much story telling. So its not chronological and it would be hard to find a log entered after 2020 or so. No shortage of paper for people who just want to enter their username and date. Dog Rocks is a very interesting place to explore.
### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

Hi there Mainebirds,
It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.
- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers are not mind readers (unfortunately), so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, you have been in hospital, the area is in flood, or some other reason that has prevented attending to the cache, they can't tell what is going on.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? A quick dash to Mount Alexander straight after work, temp was still 34 degrees!!! This area is stunning but holds difficult memories for me. I soon realised that my GPS is still operating 10m out. looking around me I almost gave up there and then!!! Thankfully my Scottish thron kicked in and I set to work........... A wee whoop of joy when I found it. Absolutely no-one else around - must only be Mad Scots Women & Goofy labradogs out in the heat. Many thanks. Now logging on work PC so missing my wee smileys but just image a happy face, Scottish flag and Aussie flag!! Many thanks
Well we felt like a mountain goat doing this one. Cache and a hide that will last another few million years doing well. I thank you.
Out with my bush walking bush doing the Mt Alexandra walk. This was our morning tea break, while the others ate I did the search. Very glad of the find as there was so many options. Cache in excellent condition. Thanks for the find Mainebirds
I came up to this magical place in a solo hike.
What a stunning area! I had no idea of the beauty here!!!
Thank you so much for bringing me here!!!
It’s amazing!!!

Second time looking for this and both times my GPS sent me waaay in the wrong direction. Lewis pulled it up on his phone and it was mine within moments! No pen today and no pen provided so just a digital log today. Thanks for the cache!
Heading out of Melbourne for a bit of a break, first stop is Castlemaine.
Heaps of caches around here, mostly around abandoned mines so time to increase a few attributes here.
So drove up on Monday afternoon and stopped for one on the way up.
Then spent Tuesday visiting a lot of the historic sites and finding the surrounding caches.
Dropped of 3 Trackables and found a path tag. (not seen one of them in a long time)
This was my favourite cache of the day..started off in the completely wrong direction, but worked my way to the cache after clambering over some large rocks...
Thanks for the cache and the hide.
Log book has been signed and returned

Havnt been here in ages, once when we were here my daughter met some very cool climbers and took up the sport not long after. Tftc
Thanks Mainbirds, I'm camped on the mountain and have gone from my morning walk with the bonus of a geocache. The geocache with well hidden and in good condition though the logbook is full I have started again at the front. Thanks for the cache, regards from Vic
Find No. 3257. Found at 3.02pm
Mr Tyred n Cranky had footy duties at Harcourt so FUF009 and myself (Mrs Tyred n Cranky) decided to go down with him for the drive. Geodog Penny came with us. We dropped Mr Tyred n Cranky off at the footy ground and then we went around the area caching.
We have cached the Harcourt area before but it has been a while since we have been down this way, so naturally there are a few new caches around to grab. Today we thought we would try to turn this part of the map all into smilies. Must say the area sure has changed in parts to when we were down here last.
Seeing how we had time, from the Reservoir we decided to go back to the footy ground via Mount Alexander where we had five caches to find.
Another lovely area on this mountain and again like every other place we have been to today, there were people. Only two of them this time that we had to walk past on our way to the hide.
Cache found, log signed and off we went.

Great hide. Enjoyed the rocks and climbing around to find this. Gps signal was all over the place. Topendteam TFTC
What a great outlook for a cache!! Too the kids a while to locate it but there was a great shout when they did! Tftc
Out this way for the day with Sean.75 and kenare. We were walking along through the quiet bush and all of a sudden people were dropping from rocks!! It was like an abseiling convention!! tftc
I can see why this is a favourite spot with the abseiling community. Cache was found quickly when the gps finally settled. Cigc. Tftc
Up this way with Sean.75 and kenbryl finding a few caches, having a few laughs and enjoying amazing views! Tftc
21 December 2020, took some looking for a cylinder that it wasn't, but what a beautiful spot to visit!
Beautiful spot and a cure for home sickness. This looks almost like the Harz Mountains in Germany (minus the Eucalyptus trees).
Took a while to find nd, but the scramble was loads of fun. Thank you for the great spot. Heading to Sydney, so took Dori the TB.
Found it! Was a very good spot, took me a bit to realise I was standing on top of it the whole time
Freezing wind and more guides than you can poke a stick at. Gps failing. Apart from the this I did find it. Thank you for the cache.
Doing the hike from here towards Bendigo, super views from here. Also some rock climbers to watch.
I leaped out of bed very early this morning to meet up with DAB to make the most of 2020's leap day. We were keen to get out on the road early and see what was in store for us. We had a list of caches we wanted to check off. We packed the geo wheels with plenty of supplies and took off in the early hours of the morning. And what a fantastic day it was!
Well I wasn't expecting to find these massive boulders here. It was a fantastic place to explore, I will have to come back to check this area out some more. I went searching through the giant boulders for a bit and then we got down to work to make the find on this cache.
**Our thanks to Mainebirds for placing this cache for us to find and enjoy**

Being a leap year, I'm sure there were a lot of fellow cache hunters out and about today. With a handful of juicy geocaches loaded into the GPSr, I hit the road with Na'wal. We had the kayak, the extendable ladder and a fridge full of goodies. Once again we had a very successful day, with no DNF's, but we did come close on a few.....
We couldn't believe the size of the rocks here, amazing. Na'wal had a play in the caves and I checked out the scenery. A short scramble and we soon had our names in the logbook. TFTC Mainebirds

Enjoyed finding the cache and having a look around the huge rocks here. Lots of little caves. A great cache day in good company to celebrate my birthday. Also great to get away from the thunderstorms in Geelong. The flash floods were avoided by coming up north. Tftc
A day out to Bendigo with Pacman, Anikano and Tritonz to escape the rains and celebrate a birthday.
Ohhh man, this cache had so many potential cool hiding spots! Caves everywhere! Still a great spot to check out, thanks for taking us here.

A great place to visit for the views and rock formations. Worth clambering over the rocks to get. Thanks
GPS has us close but needed a little help from Polhey_moley to get the find. Amazing spot and view.
Found on 24 November 2019 at 4:33:50 pm. Find #2816. While in this area on my drive from Chirnside Park to SwanHill for work i broke my trip up with a stop here and the local area for a few caches.
This was a ripper and loved the exploring i did around the whole territory.
Fantastic cache !
Thanks for the adventure Mainebirds!

Day 7 of our epic trek to the St Arnaud Mega via Geelong. As you do.
The constant was my travel companion for the entire trip, - Anymules. but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire for a lot of the escapades
With the Mega finishing yesterday we continued caching around our base of Bendigo. Today we joined up with muff1 and au.fait for some adventures. Disaster struck early when my GPS touchscreen decided to freeze and it became useless. I tried learning a phone app on the go but in the end resorted to the old pen and notebook.
Took a little while to locate this but the hint made all the difference. A very spectacular place to visit.

Rocks rocks and more rocks, no dogs seen here today We did find a cache container keeping itself safe and warm among the rocks. SL TFTC
A plan was hatched last evening so early this morning I set off with muff1, also accompanied by brisal5, AnyMules and locus cache on an adventure to Lake Eppalock. That part of the adventure successfully completed we turned our attention towards Mt Alexander. A pleasant walk past some impressive inselburgs to the dog rocks TFTC Mainebirds
A lovely walk to some really interesting rocks. And as a bonus we got a cache find.

thanks for the hide!! ahh what a beautiful location and view and ty looking gorgeous as always
Beautiful view, location and company with catherinec19. Surprisingly we were both here recently and didn’t think to check for a cache! A good reason to pop in again however tftc
In Harcourt for footy, boo09 and I nicked off between games to grab a few caches. We decided to target some Mystery at the Museum caches and headed up toward Mount Alexander.
Well this one took us forever. Partially because the cache was a bit elusive as we focused on a different area and partially because 9 year old Boo is obsessed with rocks and climbing them.
She freaked me out multiple times but had an absolute ball. Fair to say we will be back again one day with the rest of the family too. A fantastic spot, thanks so much for bringing us here! TFTC

Found at 2:53 PM GAFF1.
What a wonderful area - such impressive boulders. Would have been interesting to see a pack of dingoes roaming around - but not too close thank you very much
Thanks Mainebirds
Feedback: Glad that we didn't have to rely on the hint!

Found with Exportswede. Great spot, but very brisk today! Found ourselves in a war zone when some kids started playing laser tag among the rocks, which seems a nifty way to trick them into running off some energy Took a bead, left an eraser. TFTC!
Hi Mainebirds, this is a great spot for a cache so thanks for it.
I've been here a couple of times before, both time as a muggle but also prior to the cache's placement. Here visiting some family who live not far away.
Ventured up My Alexander this afternoon for some leisurely ambling - EeePees by 4 and local family muggles by 4.
After enjoying exploring rocks and 'caves' we then made an easy find, guiding muggle grandson to the hide.
Thanks for the adventure, and greetings from Tassie.

A day of hiking for me and my muggle friends. Started at Leanganook Picnic Area and took the track. It was surprisingly well signed, but can't say the same for the track - lots of fallen logs and trees.
Missed looking for this on the way to the top, but passed it on the way back down so decided to have a go. One of my muggle friends went with me and it was actually him who found it for me!
