TFTC,
One if the easiest letterboxes to deal with!
Hardest part was getting across the road.

06-May-23
Quick easy park & grab, will be back to have a go at the series. Tftc

Found this letter box cache, I was a bit confused with the hint because I had already followed said procedure in to GZ, very unlike Tiz13 who generally likes to make things harder than they need to be.

With the Mega only just around the corner I have decided to try and make it a milestone find of 7000 but that will require a little bit of work in the next couple of weeks to be in a position to make that happen. That in mind I arrange with AusFox; today to head over this side of the bay today to give the P.I.G and Pretzel series a crack having solved them so long a ago I can hardly remember doing them.
Development seems to be extreme in the area at the moment an it looks to be trying to engulf the series. We had to contend all day with large trucks that were clearing away large amount of earth which was a little tricky on some of the narrow sections of road.
thank you Pinkpiggy7 your hard work with these sries

22-Mar-23
Joined up with SimsFamily to do a mid week caching trip to visit pigs and dinosaurs that had been solved for a few years now.
The roads were surprisingly busy, which added an extra challenge to the day.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for the Puzzle cache PinkPiggy7

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".

So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.

**Thanks to Pinkpiggy7 for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

With the new Whittlesea Challenge Wander (WCW) series getting released, I looked at some of the new challenges to see which ones I could start to work on and out of all of the new challenges I decided to start to work on qualifying for the [WCW - 6 Types every day Challenge (GCA0HZQ)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA0HZQ_wcw-6-types-every-day-challenge).

That one requires you to find 6 different cache types on each of the 31 different calendar days and when I checked the challenge checker It said I needed to find a Letterbox on the 15th.

So after work I jumped into the geomobile and headed out to this one. The road was so busy, and I couldn't find a good place to pull off near GZ. So I ended up parking near the closest side road and walking over.

With the amount of traffic I really had to walk in the ditch to GZ, which unfortunately had a lot of standing water.

*Oh well who needs dry shoes?!*

Once I arrived at GZ, it was a nice quick search before the cache was spotted. With the amount of rain we have been having lately and the amount of water in the ditch I was nervous that this one was going to be wet, but all in all the cache was in good shape.

Thanks for the fun today and TFTC.

Cache Maintenance Status:

The cache container was in pretty good shape. The logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

After an early start this morning Crustyvarmint and I took advantage of little to no traffic on these roads to complete the P.I.G. Series .. I had solved these ages ago and, due to busy roads, big trucks, COVID lockdowns and other stuff, I hadn’t managed to collect all the caches…I had a bit of cache blindness for this one for a bit ..Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for creating the series and for placing and maintaining caches.

24-Sep-22
Travelling today with Skylizard, we stopped off to log this cache. It took a few minutes to find, but then we spotted it.
Thanks Pinkpiggy7.

Caches on this road without parking is nuts. Traffic is now crazy when it used to be quiet.
not loving these ones at all. Parked and walked

Out for a caching day with my sister, Nyochi around the area and this was our first stop. Definitely a really busy road! But we did find a relatively safe spot to park (which turned out to be right in front of the cache!) And we were soon stamping and signing the log book and on our way to the next one! TFTC!

Out today with Squiiix concentrating on two main cache series. We found most in this series with just one DNF, but with the rains of the day before, three were bypassed as we didn't have gumboots or kayaks to access them.

My thanks to Pinkpiggy7 for the cache.

A quick find on a fairly busy road.. thanks.

After spending plenty of time working our way through the puzzles and pulling piggy apart it is now time for Kristysadventures and I to find the caches and put piggy back together again. Only after finding this one did we discover the original letterbox had been muddled. Sorry to hear. Thanks for replacing to keep piggy alive

31-Dec-19
Nice to avenge a DNF. I picked auslanmane up from the train station and we were heading out to our wives parent's place for NYE. Not before stopping off at some select Caches on the way. Took some hunting around, but I finally spotted the container near auslanmane's foot. Signed log and replaced cache. TFTC!

We were in Melbourne this morning for an appointment and, as Mr SKI had solved this series of puzzles a while ago, we decided that it would be a great idea to stop and look for the caches. A beautiful, sunny afternoon made caching even more of an attraction, as we have only recently arrived home after disappearing from Victoria over winter. We have slowly been freezing after encountering the wintery cold conditions that greeted us on our return.
We were a bit wary about stopping for this one given the amount of traffic, but a place to pull completely off the road helped a lot. The container was empty and had no lid, so will need looking at. Thanks for placing the letterbox hybrid-we don’t see enuf of these types of hides
TFTC, and apologies for the generic log as this is a great series that we have really enjoyed solving and finding

19-Apr-19
The second set of numbers I tried proved to be correct. Stamped my elephant stamp in the log book. In good condition.

02-Apr-19
Our caching hunt today with ilook4geo took us to the other side of Melbourne. We had a list of solved puzzles to change to smiley faces, but even so we still had to pick and choose as we had limited time available and a long list of possibilities. Each log had two more names added to record our visit before we moved on. Our thanks go to Pinkpiggy7 for placing this series of fun and often challenging puzzles and the caches to go with each one.

01-Apr-19
Decided to do a caching run and pick up some puzzle caches. A lot of the puzzles were hard to solve, but the containers were OK to find. Log signed, all replaced, job done. TFTC.

Umm. Took a little while to persuade the lock to offer up its contents. I guess dad should read instructions a little more thoroughly!

Being a Letterbox Hybrid cache we had to stop off and search for this one. The cache itself was soon located once at Ground Zero. Mr Team GBS immediately got stuck into trying to crack the code - while he was doing so I put my thinking cap on and just a few minutes later I called our. number for his try, and the next thing the container was open - a real eurika moment! We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe

In Preparation for our Australia tour we found this nice geo art. At home we solved all mysteries. Our target today was to find all prizes. It was a tough game, because the nature was on its top, but we managed them all after more than 4 hours. We are happy and say thanks for the Caches!

Attempted this cache after the Alexandra mega last year, in the dark before we headed to our accomodation. But I couldn't work out the padlock code on the fly, and we were having other issues that were preventing us to spend too much time here so we gave up.

Down here for the Parkville mega this time and at a much more normal time, just before 2pm in the afternoon!

Once again we struggled to work out the code as we were taking it too literally, eventually Cankid slapped his head however and told me what number to punch in. Ahhhhh all makes sense now, great to be able to open this up and log another letterbox!

Thanks Pinkpiggy7!

Despite the aparant extensive planning by the J.E.F.F. App, this cache somehow managed to escape being added to our to-do list. The eagled eyed Crookedpete was well on the ball, despite his designated driver duties and a hasty additional waypoint was added to the schedule. Striding over to GZ from our parking spot we passed the waylaid motorbike hidden in the bushes (which, reading past logs, seems to have been here for some time now) and quickly located the container. Gaining access to said container was a different story. Despite a considerable list of puzzles solved under our belts it took an embarassing amount of time before the penny finally dropped and we deciphered the information we required to gain entry. TFTC

First full day of the 3 day whirlwind "Bromance" Parkville Mega FIFO trip.

After a late night (or rather early morning courtesy of the last flight out of Brisbane and a few caches on the way to our cheap and cheerful Airbnb accommodation near Frankston,Seffnjarah, Swellerfungus and I were a bit slow to get going this morning.

After hitting a local bakery for breakfast, we were on the road, targeting the C.F. and PIG series. Along the way we were frustrated by the endless closed roads from roadwork's as the urban sprawl swallows up more farmland.

Last of the pigs. Parking near here was a little scary with traffic roaring past. At GZ the container was quickly found, but how to gain access? Initially, we searched a little further down the road for an additional clue but then the penny dropped. No, that is not it, but that line of thinking led us to the correct code. Nice one,

Most logs were signed "Bromance" to save space. Many thanks Pinkpiggy7 for placing this puzzle. Have a crooked favourite point

Pete

Day 2 of the Bromance (from Brisbane, Queensland) trip to the Parkville Mega. We stayed overnight in salubrious (AirBNB) accomodation and headed off early for caching. Our targets today are the CF and PIG series from a past Mega that we were unabe to attend. Of courese we cannot drive past virtuals, interesting D/T's, letterboxes, puzzles, earthcaches, wherigos, and challenge caches.
I was left to watch the car as the rest of the team jumped out for this one. Some fun working out the hint, but eventually they came up with the goods!
In most cases logs were signed as the "Bromance" that represents Swellerfungus, CrookedPete and seffnjarah to save space in the logsheets.
Thanks to all the CO's who placed and maintain these old series.

A quick stop off at this letterbox on my way back home from an appointment . Deciphered the magic number to gain access and the log duly signed and replaced in its hiding spot. Cheers Bert for a great series and lots of learning along the way. Just a few left to collect when I have more time then on to the Pretzel series.

This is our first letterbox cache and had no problem locating it. The problem came when we tried to open it. For some reason, in my notes, I had written down a line of numbers. I can’t even remember doing this. I’m proudly reading all these numbers to Steve when he turns to me and says we don’t need that many. WHAT!!!!! Ok, I’ve obviously done something wrong. Reading through everything again, the answer clicked and log book signed. Very exciting.

Thanks Pinkpiggy7. This was fun

Oh boy, that was embarrassing... I needed 40 minutes to get the missing piece. I solved lots of the actual puzzles in a shorter time frame.

Thanks for the cache

I've been meaning to solve and find the P.I.G series in forever and now was the time to do it - I don't cache much during winter but the Hidden Creatures series gave me a push. I managed to solve all the puzzles in a couple of weeks, with a few needing a push from a caching friend or the CO. Thanks Pinkpiggy7
The cache - I always love a letterbox cache! My device was pointing to a trail bike in the bushes but then I spotted the cache. As mentioned before, was a little dicey crossing the road
The puzzle - I couldn't see the information I was looking for so I PAFed. Just before I got a reply I figured out what to do myself, and open sesame

14-Jul-18
Today was spent finding the P.I.G Series. I think I have these solved for quite some time now and I FINALLY got around to attempting to find their physical locations. I started the day of woefully, spending some time looking for my 1st cache – HQ to all Cachers, before rechecking the puzzle in the field and realising I was severely off the mark, by about 1km or so...
Undeterred, I set off to the next cache on my list, not realising until I got home that I missed one completely. (as in I didn’t see the icon on the screen . The day was off to a slow start... I soon got into the groove of things and soon my eye was in full cache spotting mode.

26th find - a bit hazardous crossing the road here, but managed it in between the car flying past.

08-Jul-18
During the week I had a look at the P.I.G. puzzles and I think I correctly solved quite a few of them. Today was the day to test the accuracy of my coordinates.

Unfortunately the weather was terrible, with intermittent showers and puddles everywhere.
I went out searching anyway and met with success in many places.

That bicycle shown in one of the pictures is still there.

Thanks for cache Pinkpiggy7.

Find #9586

A beautiful winters day and several souvenirs on offer just for finding caches. Big Grin Roll back time to March 2015, I was supposed to be making puzzles for the Melbourne Mega Event when this series was published. I solved a handful, then got back to what I was supposed to be doing. After the Mega, I found time to work my way through the remaining unsolved caches.

Today was the day to put smiles on this series, but it started not so well with 4 DNF's. After a chat with the CO and a re-solve of 1 of them, I was back on track.

I must say, this was not my favourite part of the trail. Way too many cars flying past.

Many thanks to Pinkpiggy7 for the cache. TNLN.

Found somewhere safe to park then made our way back to the cache as the norm for me when caching around this area is to find some form of stolen goods this time it turned out to be someone pit bike very well hidden from passing traffic but not cachers took a photo and coords then we finished the cache off before doing 1 more then heading to the police station to report it. This was my last cache of the day in this area. I was pretty tired by this point and starting to feel a little pink despite the constant application of suncream. Not sure how many kilometres I cycled in the end but it was a few! TFTC!

This is the last cache that I needed to complete the PIG series, but I had been avoiding it for a long time because I know how busy this road can get. Today being the last day of 2017, it was my last chance to finish it off so that I could start the new year afresh.
Got to the GZ about 11 am and parked with just enough room off the side of the road, even if the car was on too much of an angle for my liking. Saw the letterbox hide straight away and wasn't expecting the lock. Then saw the other interesting item and spent a number of minutes looking for some digits to unlock the cache.
Gave up, went back to the car and starting reading the cache description and learned what I needed to do to get to the cache.
Moved the extremely long slug off and opened the container and signed the log file. Dropped off a TB for the next person to continue its movement. Glad to say that I have now finally finished the PIG and Pretzel series.
Thanks for the adventure Pink Piggy 7

So today I finally thought too myself to actually go and have a crack at finding all the caches in this series. As I had been sitting on all of them being solved for a while now. And with it being such a nice day it was time to go. With everything packed it was time to go, and soon enough I was at the first cache of the day. None of the caches were particularly difficult with only one or two being somewhat annoying. Either way the sun out in the morning made the day caching great but as the afternoon came round so did a thunderstorm so I decided it was time to leave for home for the day. Anyways thanks for the great series and I will be back soon too finish off the series.

10541 and 6th of 6 found today.

Boy was that almost a DNF. I was so close to giving up when the required numbers couldn't be found no matter how far I went (The telephone pole had numbers but none of them worked....) Eventually had a bright idea and that too failed. Then a smack upside my head and the right numbers were revealed and the cache magically opened. TGFT.

Evil but at least helped me with another one that I didn't find . . . or would have if I'd found it.

Thanks for the cache Pinkpiggy7 and the George.

After a couple of nights puzzle solving this excellent series, I decided to head out and make some finds today, just as many as I could before the rain came. I was in luck today as it held off long enough for me to finish the series and consider starting another local series! The puzzles were great, for a beginner puzzle solver like me, and the hides were in theme and very cute. TFTC and TFTP Pinkpiggy7

Having solved all the puzzles in the series, today was the day to see how many I could find. I had a pretty good hit rate but there were four that escaped me in time I had available. Thanks for setting up a fun series of puzzles. Cheers and TFTC

Oh no!!! it is on the other side of the fence with far to much barb wire. With a bit of thinking and the help of a stick I was able to bring it back to the right side. It was my second guess that I came up with the numbers. Love it. This road is sooo busy!!!

Had worked on this clever series apparently about 650 days ago according to the C:GEO and so finally I decided to get out of the house and do the run to put a smiley on each. Took about 3hrs to complete the series with some minor rain bands that passed over quite quickly. It had been quite awhile since I had done a drive-by power trail and quite enjoyed it by the end.

Enjoyed this one, quite clever and nicely placed, was able to park opposite unlike some of the other further north.

Found it! No porky puzzle to solve this time, so straight to the posted we went. Risked life and limb (a strange saying, as if one lost their life they probably wouldn't care about their limbs?) to cross to the correct side of the road only to find we needed more info. Luckly Kelly had her brain switched on as usual and picked up the hint. Another part of pig performed...TFTC...

TFTC. Last visit I completely missed the clue as to the right combination. When I typed up the DNF log I realised the error of my ways. The CO kindly pushed me in the right line of thought. DUH! opened up the letterbox and stamped our book with a pig.

15-Jan-17
We found the cache container without any trouble. But where are the numbers to unlock the letter box. looked in the direction suggested. Sitting back and typing this now I think I know the combination required. Must admit to feeling nervous along this stretch of road as it its quite busy

This cache was MIA on our last visit. As I am targeting Latterbox Hybrids for a challenge, I was pleased to be able to make the find today. Thanks PP7.

Well we certainly had no trouble finding the cache, but how do we sign the log? Back to the car to read the cache page. Ahh! we have to look in a certain direction. Now I'm not saying we both used our compass app to find the solution to the problem but it may have happened before we both slapped each other around and came to our senses. Needless to say we both had that light bulb moment and our names along with a sketch of our avatar are in the book. Please don't mention the compass thing to anyone.
Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for the great series

Geodad aka Fleabag- did the majority of the puzzle solving for this series. So today we headed out pig hunting. Dusty roads and flies was the order of the day. My 5yr old lil geosister was in charge of food and gave us 1 item per find, such as a grape or a M&M. She even got out for 26 of the caches. All caches found within a few minutes searching. Thanks for much for this great series. Favorite for this one.Cool.

22-Dec-16
After solving these some time back I finally managed to get time today along with GT02 to make the assault on this series. This was clever. At GZ it finally twigged... ahhhhh. Thanks to Pinkpiggy7 for placing this cache.

About a month ago I decided to turn my attention to the P.I.G series and on Saturday I completed the final puzzles so I decided that today would be the day to collect them all. It was a lovely sunny day which made the collection even more enjoyable except when I had to trudge through long grass.

Having completed all the P.I.G Mystery caches all that was left for me to achieve my smiley piggy was to find and log this cache...Done.

Find # 3958

Found with sharkiefan.

The plan had been organised some time ago to catch up in the big smoke, and grab some of the CF series of caches (and some other caches that were on the map while we were on our way around).
Also in Prep I had managed to get all the final GZ'ds for this PIG series.
Like some of the puzzles, finding the caches were just as hard. don't know if it was tree cover or a strange day, but both of us seemed to have some GZ's off a little. Neverless we managed all but one on this series. Even with a couple of Revisits to claim the smileys.

Found with FUF009 after doing some maintenance of the CF series. This was a pretty good series although we found some of the coords to be quite out. We had to double back to check a couple we missed. There was one patch of road that was quite scary to try to stop on but we managed to make do. Thankfully I have a tiny car. Tftc

Find no. 1333

After a lazy Sunday morning sleep in and having not found a cache this week what better way to spend the afternoon then finding some of the solved puzzles in this series. We were surprised how over grown the grass was at some GZs and made plenty of noise to frighten off any wriggly sticks.

We're a huge fan of letterbox caches, and this one had us pondering how to open it for a little while. While I was over thinking it, geowife came up with an idea that led us to working out the right combo.

Thanks pinkpiggy7 for the fun series.

### MEGA - The Surf Coast Event 2016 ###

----------

**DAY ´6**

I am alone again today unfortunately. My daughter had to fly back to Sydney already.

We have planned for the mega event long before hand. I have spotted the GeoArt caches right at the beginning of my planning.
The Pics and the Dino’s were all solved in Germany beforehand. Many were quite a challenge and I had to ask some friends back home for help.
We just couldn’t figure out 3 so we had to ask the owner for help.

I started the Pic cache by beautiful sunshine. I had so look around quite a bit at some spots to locate the cache. I have met a cacher on the way who told me that he couldn’t find the next cache. I looked there for about 30 min but I was able to find all the next ones.

At the end I finally had the final in my end which I was so happy about, however one was still missing. I went back again and looked but couldn’t find it.

Solving the caches was already fun back home. I was happy about the beautiful nature. It’s fun hobby and I was happy to enjoy the quit nature.

Nicely decorated caches, the nice contact, the nice helpfulness and also tolenance.
Thank you

Best regards from Germany

A nice hide, but had to think about it a bit before working out what was required.

I'd worked on the P.I.G. puzzles a while ago and recently discovered the Pretzel/Project Pretzel series so spent some time (when I should really have been studying...) cracking these too. I challenged myself to solve them all myself which I did except for one which G' of GJMMelb gave me the solution for (he solved many of them independently) as time was short. Combining these puzzles with a few others in the area and The Slog series a grand plan for a Big Day Out of caching was hatched with a core list of 133 caches to find! Our merry band of cachers - lochb who did the driving and G' of GJMMelb and myself who did the bulk of the brain and legwork - set out early for a full day of mostly drive-by caching. We succeeded in getting 134 finds before light stopped play! This was despite some setbacks: a handful of DNFs (luckily we found other caches to substitute for those we couldn't find), a couple of errors in solutions that we luckily sorted out and still managed finds, an unwelcome flat read tyre and even a couple of "close encounters" with a helicopter - we weren't sure if they were checking us out or not though. A great day of caching that saw all three of us beat our personal best finds in a day Smile
