Taurus Six and I have taken an extra day off work to make it a five day Easter Break. This is day four and another fabulous day staying in and exploring the beautiful Swan Valley Region. We have indulged in sufficient wineries the last couple of days so today we thought we would venture a little bit further a field and head to the hills area for geocaching and exploring . One area on our radar today was the cluster of five challenge caches near Gidgegannup , then we came south and completed a full circuit including Parkerville, Stoneville, Mount Helens , Sawyers Valley, Mundaring and Darlington then back through Midland as we headed back to our accommodation near Upper Swan . It was a beautiful warm autumnal day , the surrounding bush was fabulous and all and all it was a great day of geocaching .This is our twelfth cache find of the day along with nearby Adventure Labs. Well another great example of if it was not for geocaching we would never know this place exists. Wow what a really sad piece of Australian History. At least the cemetery is laid out nice and respectful , but a very sad place nonetheless the less. We collected the required information and calculated final gz, a short stroll soon had cache in hand . Thanks for the cache parky Peakers .
Had a lovely walk around this tiny cemetery. Oh so sad....I hope they are all with their mamma's now. Found the cache without trouble and it's in perfect condition... Log book and all. It looks nothing like the pic in the last log and the Needs Maintenance needs removing. Have attached a pic of the cache. Thanks for bringing me here TFTC
Out and about again, spent most of the day in
Parkerville and Mundaring area cleaning up a stack of caches.
Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Teamed up with the Cockburn Crew to clean up the hills near Hovea and Mundaring today, with the public holiday.
Found the final cache without any issues today. It was bashed and broken open, muggled by a member of the public. The logbook was also absent, so we signed the back of another cacher’s calling card and gathered the contents and put it back. Will need attention. Cheers Parky Peepers!

G’day Parky Peepers! I am recommending a maintenance checkup at this cache.
See attached photo. The cache is trashed and logbook missing.

Out with Sgtant for a couple caches today, tiny cemetery with such tiny graves and a sad thought and a nice puzzle to find the cache, TFTC
Meet up with Geotrakka to finish off a lab cache that we had both been working on and to grab a few smilies along the way. the rain held off for half of our adventure, so slightly wet but we have some more smilies. Thanks to the CO's for maintaining their caches.
I usually enjoy cemeteries - not because Im morbid but I find them respectfully interesting to wander around. This one however has a sad feeling to it - though I appreciate you bringing me here and for the multi parky peepers
Quite a sombre cache. Glad, I drove down the gravel track to learn more about this place.

Had this on a list of caches to attempt while completing some Labs in the area.
Once at GZ we sat down and worked out the final coordinates and started heading to the final location.
Not far from the cache I realised I had left the pen in the car, luckily when we found the cache there was a scribble stick inside.
__________
Chatted to SirFancy over the weekend and seeing all the kids were occupied today decided to head up into the hills to clean up some Adventure Labs and grab a few other caches along the way.
Although a little soggy to begin with it turned into a rather pleasant and successful day finishing up adding 37 finds to the total and grabbing a cache unloved for nearly two years.
__________
Thanks Parky Peepers for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 2843 for me.

Whilst on the way back from a FTF hunt nearby we stopped in to grab a few caches on the way back down the hill.

Thanks Parky Peepers for placing and maintaining this cache. Out and about with Barnzy12 getting a few smily faces.
Such a sad place to visit. Sorry for all that happened despite such good intentions. Thanks for the hide.
How very ,very sad. Thank you for bringing us to this moving & memorable place.
So sad to see this but good to see the local kids are remembering the little ones. I knew a true gentle man who had suffered at the Home. Branded as a trouble maker at the time there was no way we genie volunteers believed it. I thought of him whilst here.
We found this one. The clues were tricky but fun. The cache was well hidden and good to find

Thanks for taking us to this interesting place. I brought my own baby here it’s rather sad to see so many young bubs just like her that didn’t get a chance to grow up, tough times. Cache found in good condition. Find number 1 of 12 for the day.
This is a great multi to do. We parked at the suggested spot and made our way into the cemetery and were pleasantly surprised at how good the area has been kept.
We quickly worked out the solution and had the cache in hand, log signed and cache returned to its hiding spot.
Parky Peepers we found your cache on Sunday 20.1.2019 @ 5:45 pm with BenJessAwesome3. TFTC!

A terrific cache, highlighting some important history, but what a terribly sad location. Glad I didn't have to enter. TFTC Parky Peepers. Have a favourite point.
Tried to find it but gps took us to a couple of positions - only found a pretty bobtail hanging out in the bush nearby
Wow, wow.wow. Such an awesome yet sad spot. This is why I still do Geocaches. I actually nipped off between a Sunday roast & dessert/coffee to do this. I have always know of the Parkerville Childrens home. Yet I was apprensive to do this multi. I knuckled down to do the maths. Some muggles I was not too happy being around, so drove the car a bit closer which you can do. So dessert was an hr late but oh well. Took a few pics, esp of the tree fence ladder. Check the block work everyone. Tis in the back left corner. Took me 2 goes to get it right. First go lead me 90 m away northward across farmland, lol. I immediately thought, this is not right & went over the clues/directions.Thank you Parky Peepers. My Geocaches I make are like yours. I try to get people out there to see some history & have a walk out there. A favourite point from me, Cheers Parky Peepers for finally, finally bringing me here.
Would never have known about this place if not for geocaching. Thanks for showing me this bit of history.
Never would of thought a special place like this was hidden away up here in Parky...Thanks geocaching for letting us discover new places
I have looked at this cache a few times, but my GPS doesn't show any roads leading to the cache, so today I checked in maps on my phone before heading out this way and it wasn't too difficult to get here. Once at GZ I found the required information and calculated the final coords.
I had to search around for a while before finding the cache. I grabbed the travel bug from the cache, and will move it on soon.
Thanks for bringing me to this spot Parky Peepers!

Found it - how hidden is this significant area - left GPS trackable TFTC - our first multi for 2016
TFTF! Really pretty spot. I am thinking of going back to the cemetery and giving some TLC to some of the graves.
Found this at night Robertoherz and TOBY_RW at night which was scary as but a great place very sad but will visit occasionally. Tftc
Went on Monday 5th of October with Rob CC and Tina
Was Shit scary going at about 9:30PM

Out and about with the kids, we had a slight diversion off our usual path & I noticed this cache not too far away I had not read up on this cache, so what a surprise we got when we pulled up close to the first waypoint... Such a sad history, but very interesting at the same time! Whilst the kids did some exploring, I worked out the numbers... Ooops my co-ords were 3km's away, so after rechecking the calculations, I soon noticed my error & we were on our way to the final
The kids were quick to find this one & it was in great condition. Thanks for bringing us here Parky Peepers [^] This is one of the reasons I love geocaching... How on earth would we have ever visited this spot without this game? TFTC

Oh my gosh, what a sad history. Fantastic that the cemetery is being maintained and has not fallen into disrepair and become overgrown and forgotten. Thank you Parky Peepers for sharing this bit of history with us.
This cache had to be the cache of the day for us today. Such a sad history and facinating location, a must to visit. Thanks Parky Peepers a favorite point for brining us here.
Sad but delightful location with wildflowers are just coming into bloom.
Only 10 minutes from home and I never knew it was there! Thanks for highlighting this historical site.

Such a sad and lonely graveyard. Says much of the hardships of earlier years.
Found the information, did the calcs and had a short walk for an easy find.

WooHoo FTF @ 17:05
Saw this come up on the phone around lunchtime and since I still needed a FTF for March I decided to give it a go later in the day. Checked the listing around 4:15pm and still no logs so punched the co-ords in the GPSr and headed off with the compass showing the cache about 25k's away. Time was limited but I should be able to get there, make the grab and be on my way.
About 30 minutes later I found myself travelling down a gravel road with the sun low in the sky straight ahead. The work van was going to need a spruse up after this outing. Parked up at the suggested waypoint and began the short trek to the cemetery. I had seen a couple of cars going in the opposite direction on the way in and wasn't sure if I had been beaten to the punch or not.
Found the plaque with ease and spent a few anxious minutes doing all the relevant calculations. Put in the new co-ords and, as expected, GZ was a short distance away. I had spied this object on the way in and thought then that the final had to be over there somewhere. On approach I caught a glimpse of the container under its camo and made a quick find.
Being a bit of a drama queen, (king), on FTF hunts I tend to be a bit melodramatic. I grabbed the container and found a suitable spot to sit down so that I could comfortably extract the cache contents. I anxiously pulled the log book from it's bag and slowly opened it up and was very pleased to see a blank page.
I wish I was able to have a proper look around at the cemetery but serious time constraints wouldn't allow it. It is a very sad story and I will be back one day to pay my due respects and also pick up my second favourite geostick that I have left behind.
Giving it a favourite for the FTF and for the interesting though historically sad location.
