Unfortunately no luck here for me today. Found hint and possible spot but just came away with stabbed fingers. Will watch and return.
Drove through on the weekend for a maintenance check. The spot is overgrown with gorse and cache missing so time to archive this one.
On our way to Wellington and had a cache up here on my must do list. This one was on the way so made the list too! Quick find once I found the hint item. TFTC
Was passing by after finishing the power trail. Quick find in a very exposed spot.
Nicely-placed cache made for a quick park and grab on this busy road. Thanks for the cache
Felt rather exposed searching here, tried to time it between cars. Cache had rolled slightly, I wedged it back with rock. Mihi Just-Lookin!
A quick stop on the main road, felt quite exposed, but quickly found the cache. Nice piece of local history, shame there's no official indication of this. All good, tftc!
Getting milk from the Faith farm vending machine so thought I'd get a couple of caches for the 2/2/22 badge. Went to the wrong side at first but found it 2nd attempt. Forgot a pen so took a photo of log book. TFTC
Very last cache of the day, as I cycle back to where I'm parked. Nice quick find here, TFTC
Log book is damp and disintegrating. Was able to sign buy might need replacing soon. TFTC
Decided to spent some time around Otaki picking up some caches. Quick stop and didn’t take long to find the cache. Log all fine. Thanks for the smiley.
Very cool history! Added my 5 cents worth to the cache. Log still a little damp. May need a check before the winter season arrives.
All good and dry. Took a dino and swapped it for some toys and a smiley lanyard for the next cacher to enjoy. Thanks very much for the cache.
Enjoyed a few hours walking and locating eight caches on the Kapiti Coast today. A reasonably quick find after lunching at Waikanae and starting up the road to Te Horo Beach. I was surprised to see that it’s been almost 10 months since this cache was last found! #3292. TFTC.
Found on my way home from a geocaching afternoon in the area. Road quite busy. Easy find. TFTC
Have been poking around all over the area, grabing the odd cache here and there, many thanks to all the cvache placers - Bitsprayer
We did grab this one 2 years ago but failed to log it so as we were passing today managed to find it again. Thanks CO for keeping it going.
Day 2 of our New Years trip up to the North Island. Today we traveled from Upper Hutt through the winding Akatarawa Rd up to Palmerston North. We didnt see the hide initially and investigated further into the thistle than needed. Ouch! We then sat on the motorway and snailed it at 5kph until we could turn off onto Te Hapua Rd. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy.
Road not too busy this afternoon and log was quickly signed. We remembered this building being near the path of a tornado a few years ago! TFTC.
Quick find - we were even rumbled by a geocacher farmer who has found it either. He drove off and should have stayed.
Quick and easy find. Found with TwigNZ. Signed the log as "T & T" Thanks for the cache
I had been eyeing a few trails to do on the weekends I have my son and decided to go hard out today to see how many caches we could do in and around the Hemi Matenga Reserven an afternoon. We were lucky enough to be blessed with reasonable weather, when the forecast had been for showers, so that definitely helped us to get a great result.
I apologise in advance for the generic log, but there was no way I would have been able to write up each Cache as I went along, so am logging them now in bulk (sort of)
We thought we'd grab this one on the way down.
Quick and easy find. Signed the log as "T & T" for myself and my son (Thatweirdguy04).
Thanks for the Cache

Stopped here on the way to cycle the expressway from Peka Peka this morning. Nice quick find, thanks
I was passing by Waikanae today. I was dropping off some papers for work to a nice couple in the retirement villeage up the road.
I don't get up this way very often so I stopped to have a quick look for this one. Funny thing is I am planning to come back up past here to Otaki tomorrow.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.
Thank you

I had come up along the old State Highway 1 so it wasn't a hassle to pull over and grab this one, even quite quiet as well. A quick find. TFTC

This cache must be must easier now that the expressway is open because traffic is really light on this road now and I could search between cars without any problem. Although as it was a pretty quick find maybe it wouldn't have been too much of a problem before either. Thanks for highlighting a bit of local history.
In Waikanae so detoured to grab this one and back to Paraparaumu on the expressway. TFTCSL
Found with bkj97. No problem with a pull in now the expressway is operating. Decided to suffer the shambles at the peka peka roadworks which necessitated going to te kowhai Rd intersection to turn south. Nice drive back down the expressway. T4TCSL
Find #2749. Today was my first experience of the Kapiti Expressway cycle way. Arrived at Waikanae on the first train of the day out of Wellington and cycled up a very quiet (old) State Highway One to Pekapeka to join the cycle way.
First of the day - quick and easy find. SL TFTC

Fortunately the road works cones started just beyond where the cache is so no problem collecting this one. Greetings from the UK. TFTC #7206
#13713. We had a bit of a false start to the caching day as I had neglected to load North Island caches on to the GPSr's. That was quickly rectified in Waikanae, and it didn't take long to reach this cache. An interesting bit of history, and a quick find. TFTC.
Day 3 of our North Is trip, and today we are traveling from Lower Hutt to Chateau Tongariro. It was rather drizzly at times, and we had to curtail our caching activities as we are fair weather cachers. Luckily the day ended with fine weather and even better, a view of the top of Mt Ruapehu .
This was the first stop fo the day, and it is a place we had passed many times before without a glance. Easy park and grab as there seemed minimal traffic going north - a different story heading in the opposite direction. Thanks for the cache page write up, Just-Lookin and TFTC.

We have noticed this building as we have passed and now we know what it was. Thanks for telling us about it..
+ a marble, - nothing.

2nd for the day. Have driven by hundreds of times and never knew the history. Thanks
Logged with GCDroid. Picking ones to find onmy way to next overnight stop. Just finished putting it back and sitting in car when car pulled up to collect mail while giving me a sideways glance. Just need to watch gz cover as I had a long reach for it.
Got this one on my way up to do a caching run up in Horowhenua/Manawatu. A quick find just as the sun is rising. TFTC
Found two containers. One sodden and lid wont click on. Soggy log. New jar on top of it with new clean dry log. One other signature on log. Manic traffic. Tftc
There must have been some cache creep as I couldn't find the cache at its original placement and couldn't locate it after a short search. Replaced with new container and log and all good to go again. Thanks to those cachers who removed the prickle bush
Thanks for the history. It is always interesting to learn what happened in different places years ago. Dealt to the thistle, picked up the trackable from the cache but unfortunately couldn't sign the log as it was waaaayyy too wet. TFTC.
Thanks for the notification of wet log. Will look to replace in the next couple of days.
We wanted one last cache for today to drop off a TB, so we thought despite the last DNF we'd give it ago.
The large thistle at GZ was a little off putting, but we managed to find the cache which had dropped down a hole partially under the thistle. The container was full of water & the log book too wet to sign. We took a photo of the cache as proof if the CO would like to see it, but we also left one of our pet rocks & dropped off the TB.
We replaced the contained behind the fence post (still at GZ) in the hope it wouldn't fall in the hole again, but it may be a little more visible there.
Thanks for setting this up just-Lookin

nice quick find on our way home, not to many cars out on a sunday afternoon.

Easy find, driven past here many times now I know what the barn was used for, TFTC.
Returning from wellington and thought we would add a couple of caches to today's talley.
Straight forward locate and log.
Cheers.

Out for the day with UlmusLynx on way to clear up a few caches in Te Horo A quick find. TFTC
Holidays in NZ without geocaching? No way!
Grtz. from Holland. TFTC on our way to taupo

On a trip to Taupo for a week long of solo camping and lots of geocaching! This is find number one. A nice quick find and the road is already very busy despite the early hour.

After completing my Birthday caching in wellington the family and myself are ready for home.
So time for the drive back from wellington to wanganui, stopping at a few caches we have picked along the way.
Cache / Camo / log are in good shape.
Pulled in here and was greeted by the title description, Hyjynx and myself jumped out and had a scuffle about before extracting and signing us in.
Cheers

I'm staying on my own for 4 nights at Paraparaumu and grabbing caches here and there including Wellington inc a power trail today at some point near Palmerston. I loaded a heap of caches into my GPS back in Auckland. This is my first cache for the morning and an early start too.
[green] On my way to Palmerston North for Christmas, and caching along the way. An awesome day to be out and about. Except for the traffic. It seems that everyone is on the road. Getting back onto the road, especially if crossing lanes, can involve a ten minute wait!
And that's the problem. I am not enjoying this little series. Don't get me wrong, the caches are fine. No micros, locations mostly okay, parking mostly okay. It's just that I am doing them today. Looks like half of New Zealand finished work on the 18th and everyone is heading out. And everyone else is heading in. Both directions flat out busy.
Was a little concerned this was going to be a flax hunt. Turned out to be not a problem.

Our last cache for today on the way to our camping ground. I didn't read the hint but quickly found the container and we could continue our drive.
TFTC!

A quick find here. Interesting to get the history of this building which we'd always thought was just an ordinary old farm shed, if we even noticed it at all! TFTC
7.35am. Setting out to find the last few round. An easy one here. I remember seeing flax drying at Foxton.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Heading north having been down to Wellington on business with a plan to pick up some caches as I went and this was one of thirty odd picked up on the way there and back. Again, this is one of those places I have passed so many times and noticed those red buildings, so was pleased to learn today what they are all about. Parked up near to where I thought GZ was and out of the car where a quick find had the cache in hand and signing before returning the cache to its spot - TNLN.
Found on a 12 hour caching expedition from Wellington to Palmerston North and back with Kjwx on a drizzly Sunday.
We pulled to a stop and quickly found the cache, although the wind stole it at one point and we scrabbled around in the long wet grass to retrieve it! Thank you for highlighting this interesting historic spot. We made a day of visiting flax milling sites, stopping up in Opito to visit the old toll bridge. TFTC

In the neighbourhood for my annual check up and had some time for a few caches before my appointment. Nice to get out of the Wellington southerly and horizontal rain.
A quick park and grab.

We are on a bit of a numbers run today as we head north to do the KAS Trail. The SH1 series fits very nicely into our plans. A quick park and grab here. Thanks.
