I was lucky enough to be part of Team Dipa... (we definitely had conversations about whether it was pronounced diaper or dipper) which consisted of 4 cars carrying... Fangsoki, 1MinnieMoo, Radnoski, Team Herbz, Mrs Just-a-Trifle, KBreeAhh, Ponchomon11, Captain Terror, Crew 153, Pprime and OzBeanCounter.

It was day 2 which sadly meant we had to return to Brisbane after a great day along the beach yesterday and a brilliant night camping with friends last night. This was the last cache for the day. The walk seemed longer than it had to be and with a swollen and very red leg I definitely wasn't going the fastest but the container was soon found and I was soon heading back to Brisbane to find out why my leg was not working as a leg should. Thanks for the cache Sphir3

For some reason, another trip up to Double Island Point was planned. Not that a trip away needs a reason and this one was for geocaching purposes anyways. It'd be a one-nighter, the full length of Teewah Beach, camping at Freshwater with four vehicles and thirteen geocaching mates. In the convoy was KBreeAhh, Ponchomon11, Crew 153, Fangsoki, 1MinnieMoo, Just a Trifle, Herbz, Radnoski, Net88, Pprime and oz_bean_counter.

Over four hours ago we had left Rainbow Beach for Gympie. Nothing had gone wrong, just a lot of geocaches to stop for. And it had now been a long day, with a drive home left to go. This would be the last stop, late in the afternoon. I enjoy a nightcache, and sad this one has been archived. But with some previous finders in the formation, it was felt possible today!

I followed the convoy and we parked up across the road. Then, off on our adventure bash'n through the bush. I quite liked spotting the reflectors, though at the end there was some ambiguity now about where the final is. But, with 13 pairs of eyes, it was eventually spotted. By me! I win!

Everything here is still in perfect condition - the logbook was handed around and signed before being all replaced back as found. Lovely! I quite like the idea of a bonus geocache for the trip. AAn archived multi nightcache too! Thanks for this geocache, Sphir3 Smile

I was lucky enough to be invited to join a group of friends on a weekend away at Double Island Point. While I had already found the majority of caches targeted by the others, this was one I had not yet found. Fortunately, one of the teams had found this multi cache previously and led us to the appropriate spot Razz

Thank you SPIKE for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy Big Grin

What a fantastic way to finish a weekend of sun, beach and caching in Rainbow Beach / Teewah. Headed home via Gympie and decided to add this awesome night cache into the mix. Still in good condition Smile thanks for a great cache SPIKE!

Wow - what an amazing weekend away with good mates: Fangsoki, oz_bean_counter, 1MinnieMoo, Crew153, Mrs Just-a-Trifle, Radnoski, KBreeAhh, Ponchomon11, Team Herbz, Captain Terror and net88 ... collectively logging as 'DIPA' (Double Island Point Adventurers) ... over the river from Tewantin, up the beach to Double Island Point itself, overnight at the campground, then inland to Rainbow Beach and back along the road to Gympie. Truly stunning scenery, amazing night, ocean, sand and friends. The best.

Our final cache on this trip before the last leg home, and with a little help from a former finder we navigated successfully to the final - all in good condition here.

Thanks Sphir3 for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #8802}* Cool

After completing a weekend trip from Noosa to Rainbow beach along the beach out intrepid group were heading home and it was mentioned that the final location of this cache was known to a few of the group so we headed here on the way home.

We spread out and the cache was quickly located.

On a road trip to ??Rainbow Beach?? but made a small detour to collect a smiley here. Thanks to previous finders I had an idea of where to hunt. I made my way into the bush trying not to bash too much.

Reaching approximate GZ it didn’t take long to discover the container. It was lying out in plain sight. I opened the logbook to find it still in good condition. After leaving my scribble I replaced the cache back in the hidey hole it should be living in.

Thanks for the smiley SPlKE Big Grin

29/9/19 4:24 pm Find #2730
In Gympie for lunch and a swim with the Fangsoki family today. With “formalities” over and done with, it was time to say goodbye and begin our journey home.
But of course there had to be a cache or two involved as well.
Fangsoki mentioned this one which he had done, but had since been archived and we decided to give it a go, pretty sure we could make a find.
A bit of a blind wander around, and it wasn’t too long before, sure enough, we had found ourselves a cache.
Log signed, off we headed once more.
Thanks for the cache Sphir3.

I'd been visiting the parents and was heading home - so I decided to grab this cache right on dusk.

I set off and soon found what I was after. It's a nice little area in here indeed. I successfully followed what I needed.. until I noticed one of them had been burnt by some annoying little creature.

I glanced around and saw nothing. How could I continue? Well during my random hunt I noticed something that only a cacher could notice.. viola.. the cache! So I am unsure what the co-ords were as I never found the two reflectors.. but at least I found the cache. It was in good condition.

I signed the log and re-hid the cache was found. This one might need a bit of love - but I still managed to find it. A fun little cache to do nevertheless. TFTC Sphir3 Smile

Dora the Explorer! and I headed up to Gympie to check out this night cache.

The initial reflector was found easy enough and did not have any real problems following them to the final location.

Final coordinates were calculated and it was not too long before the cache was in hand.

The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.

All is good with this cache.

Ooh this is spooky on my own!!
Had done this one with the RoddyCs and aykayem in January but for some reason had not logged it or quite a few others. Rather than messing up my stats, I decided to come back and sign the log again with todays date. It was quicker this time as I already had the finals and took the shortest directest route in. Did not bother stopping for the $200 for passing go, just went as quickly as I could and got to GZ. Signed my name n put it all back and got on the phone to Mrs RoddyC who was thrashing around in the dark in bushland somewhere near Brisbane. At least she had friends with her, all I had was something thrashing about in the bush nearby n i wasn't sure if it was an animal, another cacher on the hunt or a Mick Taylor type so I didn't hang around to find out! Got back to the car and said goodbye to Mrs RoddyC who was trying to find a crazy scientist while I was trying to avoid anything remotely crazy. It was only then I realized that I still had the pen from the cache in my hand.
I apologize profusely to the CO but I will not be going back to the cache tonight to return it. As I'm on my way home to Brisbane, it looks like I've got a new pen.
Cache was dry and in good condition on this visit although sans writing tool.

After an early morning event at Kin Kin I headed north with El Peregrinos to grab a few caches.

After parking nearby we headed off for a pleansant stroll and soon arrived at the spot we needed. It was interesting watching team EP gather the info and as mentioned in the previous log the info for B is very hard to read. But read it we did and soon had the final co-ords in hand and after a short walk we were at GZ and the cache was in hand.

Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

After attending an Aussie day event we headed to the Gympie area to pick up some smilies. This was a fun cache where team effort was a must. Konie spotted the waypoints and at the final point a bit of acrobatics was required to get a look at the clues as the numbers were hard to read and a closer look was necessary. We made a best guess for the “B” and then we were off to nearby GZ for a quick find
Thanks for the adventure Sphir3

Drove up from Canberra, for a much needed holiday staying with my parents in Caloundra ... Up here for a few weeks (Christmas, and most of January Smile
My parents didn't have any plans for this weekend/NYE so I figured I would come up for the Geocaching weekend at Widgee ... glad I did - 3 days of fun!
Arrived Friday evening, went and found lots of caches with others on Saturday and Sunday, including seeing in the new year with a little Geocaching adventure by myself (the others all went to bed early) then a few hours sleep and up again for more fun ... CITO event, and then the one over the road, before packing up, and following RoddyC, and then joined by Echocage1, to find a few caches on the way to Gympie, then a few more IN Gympie, then some caching with Echocage1 while waiting for dark, when we met up with RoddyC again for a night cache before I finally headed back for a very late (reheated Smile dinner at my parents place - lol
TFTC - Echocage1 and I dashed back from etc caches to meet RoddyC for a lovely walk in the park in the dark - this one was fun.
My good torch helped (actually a bicycle headlight Smile
Gorgeous cache guardian... the others had to wait a minute longer to see if the cache was actually there in the likely spot I had found, while I took photos of handsome hairylegs, before disturbing said arachnid to retrieve the cache from under it - lol

We came upon your cache, Sphir3, after the Geocaching for Newbies Event at Widgee. We are in the company of Aykayem and echocage1.

Thought we would stop by and do a night cache. The storm has gone so in the humid evening air we set off ticking off the reflectors along the way. The final pair with the numbers was a bit hard to read as part of the number outlines is faded. But we took the best guess and the site looked good. At GZ we found a huge huntsman spider guarding the cache but he wasn't interested in waiting around for us.

Dropped off two TBs: Higster-JK2 Around THe World In 84 Days No. 3, and Schweini on Tour.

Log signed and replaced at 7:20 pm on 1 January 2018. TFTC.

Saturday. Today was the day to attend Sweet-Sour's '2017 Cacheup for Newbies' event at Widgee. Mr Slow Puncture only as Mrs SP had to work today

I joined Orange Crew (the whole crew of 4, a rarity when caching) for a few cache hunts in the latter part of the day. As I arrived prior to the Crew, I made myself useful by going on the bush bash to retrieve the clues. When I got back to the geo-mobile, the Crew showed up and we agreed on the final co-ordinates. Then back to the bush we bashed again. In good time, the hide was located.

This was the 7th of 10 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***SPlKE***, for showing us this place. Smile

Out in the Gympie region while camping at the event at Widgee, we took the opportunity to have a look around and sample the local caches.

We caught up with Slow Puncture, who had followed the reflectors and found the info. We soon had the cache in hand.

This cache is in good condition, and makes smilie #3080. Thanks **Sphir3** for showing us this spot. Feel free to discover our trackable TGQNRV .

#27 This was a really fun & challenging cache. Wandering through the bush in the night following reflecting dots on trees. Probably one of my favourite caches so far. Thanks Sphir3.

01-May-16
I would have liked to give this one a go at night but as most of my caching adventures are solo and my sense of direction is horribly impaired I decided crashing around in the scrub alone at night was not the best plan. Instead I hopped on the bicycle and decided to at least check out the area in daylight to see what was involved. Against all odds (the odds being a solid blanket of cloud, intermittent rain, not able to use a torch to find the reflectors and very fogged up spectacles from the bike ride) I still managed to find the thing! 03-Jun-15
The sun was going down and I soon had to hit the road home.
Just one or two more.
It was dark enough for me to try this one and I could just see where I was going.
I had my torch with me and headed down the track.
I spotted what I needed to find and moved on through twisting and turning as the need arose.
Soon I was where I collected the numbers and headed to GZ and the awaiting cache.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Sphir3 Cool All good with this cache

29-Apr-15
Parked where suggested and armed with two very good torches, just in case one goes flat or something, I set off. Found the first reflector then Just walked and found the remaining ones in very quick succession. From the time I left the start point till when I returned to the Geo Mobile would have been no longer than 20 minutes.

I have done many night caches in different Australian States and New Zealand and tis one would rate as about average in length and difficulty. One or two of the reflectors were well above head height but not hard to locate due to their size.

I did not encounter any spider webs at all. Gathered the two required numbers and found GZ a short distance away and under 2 Meters out from where the GPSr wanted me. Good final Co Ordinates.

Can't believe that if GeoH and I had found it that day when we went for it and realised it was a night cache we would have been the FTF!!!

Great little hide. I agree with Sweet-Sour about the spider webs though.
Left a Woolworths Domino in there (you'll have to find it to see what character it is Smile).

*FTF* 1855. My first night cache [^] and a FTF [^] at that.
Figured a weeks grace Cool for the other local cachers was enough time to claim the FTF, No takers.

A bit tricky finding the start of the track in the dark, took a couple of false starts, got there in the end.
A word of warning, wave a big stick in front for the spider webs, saves getting all yucky.
Found the GZ about 10m out, but not hard to find.
My favorite logbook, BLANKBig Grin on those grounds a favorite point
TFTC Sphjr3 Your last one will have to wait for another day.
