Very interesting little area...thanks for bring us here...cache soon found. Thanks for the hide.
My first cache on the island. Started a long walk into town just after lunch time. Very pleased this was at the historical cemetery. Based on previous logs it was missing so replaced for now at base of tree at GZ. Hoping this is OK with the CO as lots of DNFs. Tftc
On our 20 day hiking experience on the South Island were got to stay on the Island. Search for this one quite a while before reading previous logs. Believe its gone. Requested to log as found. Greetings from Australia.
Should have been straightforward, but we checked all the bases and couldnt find anything either.
200ml container should have been straightforward. Happy to come to old cemetery although not expecting a find after previous log
Did this after lunch and a rest. A very peaceful place, but sad to see some of the young ages on the stones here. Thanks for the cache.
Nice little walk. Keep walking around to deadman’s beach for a lovely view and beach.
My first visit to Stewart Island to complete the PWGT and go to Ulva Island as well as explore Oban..
Dropped my bag at the South Sea Hotel and had prehired an ebike to get around and explore today. Took a moment to spot this one... My GPS was being a bit weird so wasn't quite at GZ. Nice views today
TFTC drawp, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 7 find(s) of 11 today, making this find #3774

A lovely spot. I put the replacement log paper in a small plastic bag because it was at risk of getting as damp as the original logbook is. TFTC
This was another cemetery we found ucked away at the end of a road with a view over the local beach.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Last cache before we fly out. A fat black dog waddled from a nearby house to bark at us. The small graveyard was a surprise. Thanks for the cache, drawp. Long way from home!

Woohoo!!! off on our Stewart Island adventure!!!
Second day and a walk past the previous days gardens find up the road and onto the next inlet of Braggs Bay. My man spotted one of the ferry crew and stopped to chinwag while we headed up to the fellas (a Bragg) family cemetery. Beautiful wee spot and view, as a lot of cemeteries have! cache found easily and all good. tftc

Kiwicampnut and I finally managed to coordinate ourselves and get over to the island. A revisit for me.
As others may have noted, this logbook is sodden, and and additional dry logsheet has been added.
Not worth doing a cache maintenance log as don't want the cache archived due to lack of owner maintenance.
Thanks for the cache drawp

Ruru-NZ and I are on Stewart Island doing the Geotour caches as a priority but any others found are a bonus for me. Seems this could just be the Bragg family cemetery
What an unloved cemetery. Such a shame. Cache quickly found, signed & replaced. TFTC
It wouldn't be a geocaching trip if we didn't visit a cemetery!
A nice quick find. Thanks for putting this here.
We left an alphabet stone - the letter 'A'

First find of the day with 4Clubs. A lovely calm morning after much needed rain last night. Thanks for bringing us to this secluded spot. Tftc
Didn't quite make it this far on the previous days walk so called in here before go back to town for lunch. Started going along the beach as the road appeared to be private at the end, but I began to sink so far into the sand that I needed to make my way up there before getting stuck.
Again it looked like I was coming to a dead end with only private property ahead, but after turning back to see what the other two were doing, a couple came down the road from behind me and ensured that there was a track up there.
This time I quickly made it to the cemetery and had cache in hand soon after. All good here, TFTC.

Saw a large seal on the beach on our way up to the cemetery. Thanks for bringing us up here. Found with Piwaka54 on our epic southern adventure.
An interesting place to visit. Some of the headstone engravings twigged my curiosity, one in particular. I have taken a photo of it to further research when I am home.
GraciesGPSfun, JustLookingOO, ItchyFeet2020 and I are visiting Rakiura to find and log the PWGT caches as well as see some of the beautiful scenery. Although the trip is short because of our focus, I for one will be back to sample more of Rakiura‘s delights. TFTC drawp.

Lovely little Urupa. Beautiful memorial to those remaining here. Thanks for bringing us here. We spent a bit of time reading and reflecting. TFTC.
Everyone in the Bragg Family sleeping while we hunted around. I found it! Are the magic words. Quite over grown uru pa. Fabulous bay. Thank you for bringing me here.
Today I decided to hire a car from the garage to visit most of the outlying caches that were near a road.
Rather sad that some of the family perished at once and that the cemetery is not maintained.
Cheers for the cache.

Day 2 on the Island & we hired ebikes to explore & grab caches along the way. Weather forecast was for rain all day & it was drizzling solidly when we picked up the bikes, but we decided to risk it & I'm glad we did! The weather ended up not being too bad & we saw a wild deer on the track 15m ahead of us, a real treat for nature loving me
Another lovely beach There are so many on Stewart Island

Found quickly with accurate hint. Interesting cemetery, some very old headstones. I like being brought to cemeteries, so much history within thanks for that. cache a bit damp so put a waterproof paper in that might keep the summer visitors satisfied, tftc.
Water in cache unfortunately so all a bit wet. Could do with a bit of maintenance. Found during a visit here and a walk around some of the tracks. TFTC
6 June 2021 15:03. A quick find after heading over to Lee bay for the GeoTour information. Another beautiful spot, thanks for showing it to me. TFTC
We had a good long walk this morning - the weather forecast was awful and we walked in brief showers of rain, hail and the odd patch of sunshine! Certainly a variety of weather and has been pretty cold, but we were warmly dressed so actually enjoyed the walk. Always fun to pick up caches along the way... TFTC
We finally got dates, tickets and accommodation lined up for a few days caching at Stewart Island. With the batteries recharged in Invercargill after a nine hour drive we were on the first plane as light drizzle turned into solid rain. It didn't last and by the time we had checked in the sky had cleared and it stayed that way for the duration of our visit, whoopee! Today we hired a car to look for caches further from the township. Both Tour and Trads. We drove up till where the public road stopped then walked up to the small cemetery. There's a lot of family history there, and a cache of course. I left the Horseshoe Point cache to watch the sunrise tomorrow but that's another story. Thank you drawp
We had finally been able to get our ducks in a row to make the trip to Stewart Is and left a very wet Invercargill on the first flight Tuesday morning hoping the weather would ease although prepared to get wet if it didn't during the four days we were to spend on the island.
It was still raining when we arrived but shortly after booking in to the hotel it eased so we set forth on foot to see what was what on this southern chunk of land. Knowing we had a rental car booked for the next day we concentrated on the ones closer to our base although did end up walking several km by the time we got back to the pub, also ticking off waypoints for the AdLab cache at the same time.
Because we had found several caches on the first day it meant we had much more time to spend really enjoying the views and peace the island offered. All planned caches were found and the AdLab completed on the second day so we left finding the bonus cache until next morning, also a walk to Horseshoe Point for one last view and find before hopping on the ferry to Ulva Island for a wander around.
After booking out of the hotel on Friday morning and with nothing left to do and all day to do it we managed to change our flight to an earlier one so left a few hours earlier than originally intended but well satisfied with our trip.
We left the rental car at the end of the public road and walked up to here. It's not hard to see where the bay got it's name from when looking at the headstones. A quick find here.
Thank you drawp (and Wethreefourdices).

Down for the weekend picking up some caches at Stewart Island Rakiura with Natalie247. Today our plan is to get some local caches and then head to Ulva Island and come back to get a rental and grab as many as we can before heading back on Sunday.
The weather has been fantastic and so has our adventure down here.
Interesting find up here.

Over on Stewart Island to complete the last of the PWGT5s. Been meaning to come back here for a while and 2020 was so busy decided to wait and then all of these new caches got published which was great. Made a plan to come visit with Eve07.
I forgot how big this place was. It was a good walk from here back to Oban after the great walk but glad we could hire a car this time to get around as I fell over on Friday. Foot is now strapped up 4 days later and in a moonboot to help give parts of my ankle a break.
A nice simple cache to find.

[NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

On a PWGT expedition to the deep south with rustynz, rebel98, gorby and boneybruce. Great fun down here, great caches and an awesome visit to Stewart Island as well. TFTC!!!
A trip has been planned for 4 days away (1-4th May, 2021) to collect all off “RIMA” – part of the Pokai Whenua Geo Tour in the bottom third of the South Island including Stewart Island. This time round, there is myself, rustynz, Rebel98, FMZ and his skeleton called Bruce. We have picked up a car at Dunedin airport and will return there.
While Rebel and FMZ lingered by the rental, me and rusty decided a burst of healthy energy would get us up the hill to the old graveyard. Good views from up here, so we concentrated on the cache first, it was in the 2nd place I checked.... viola! I signed us all in and then took some fotos of some of the old residents. Thanks for bringing us here.

With a group of Westies (rustynz, rebel98, gorby, FMZ and bony bruce) on an overnight stay on Stewart Island
Took a left turn, and was soon parking the car, for the short walk up the hill to the cache. Loved the nearby Island, which of course meant we had to take more pictures.
As to the cache, Gorby soon called out he had found it, and the log was being signed.
Thanks for the history and the hide drawp (maintained Wethreefourdices)

Thanks for the hide, making our way around the Island with a group of Westies on a stunning day
I'm on holiday at the moment exploring some of Southland and Stewart Island. Today was my big caching day on Stewart Island and I hired an ebike for 5 hours to get around most of the easily accessible caches on the Island. This was one of last caches if the day, getting a little tired but thankfully my bike has plenty of battery left, tftc!
In the South Island from Tauranga on a six week holiday and now following the PWGT. I hope to have the tour completed before I get home.
Now here on Stewart Island for three days. Was a bit bumpy landing but all good now. Out and about gathering as many as I can. Wow what a beautiful beach.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

We woke to the wind howling and rain threatening. We decided to get the tour caches finished before the rain set in. It was a good theory but the weather gods had different thoughts, just as well we had our rain coats with us. This is my first trip to Stewart Island but gk has been to various parts hunting on several occasions. He has not been here exploring this area before so it is something new for both of us and we were not going to le a bit of rain stop us from exploring.
Our primary focus is to find the PWGT caches including the lab cache. So we hired a rental car to help us get around. I am still recovering from a (geocaching) injury and hobbling around on crutches) so gk gets to go and find the caches that require a walk.
I waited in the car while gk went and found this one.
Thanks for placing this cache and of course thank you for the smiley.
Just a wee note for future visitors to the island... All of the locals have said how busy the island is and that people need to be organized if they are planning to book accommodation.

My Dad's favourite Uncle lived on Stewart Island for several years after returning from WW1. Dad told many stories of his times over here staying with his Uncle when he was a boy. I had assumed my great uncle was buried over here but when I looked up the records before coming they show him being buried in Invercargill and not here. Interestingly one of the places to stay on Stewart Island includes the unusual name that everyone called him. This is a real coincidence as hardly anyone knew his actual name which just happens to also be my son's name. My son, who is so enamoured with my Great Uncles's war heroism, called his second son after him. I tried to find out more information at the museum but the person who I needed to talk to wasn't here today so I filled in a form and awaiting further information. I feel very privileged to visit here today thank you drawp and Wethreefourdices. TFTC # 16,734
We spent a couple of nights on Stewart Island, staying with friends. Quite an amazing area, with plenty of interesting bush walks and beautiful scenery.

I came to this one on a day trip to the island, while in Bluff for a special Waitangi Day event. Decided to walk around Braggs-Horseshoe Track.
I stopped at this one on the way around. Found on a beautiful day at this interesting place of rest.

Hidden away cemetery for the Bragg family, and had plenty of visitors today. Fairly easy find with @peadub. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
Lovely history in these graves. I love trying to identify the roles each person played in the family. Tftc.
Nice find here. Good to find something after a DNF. Brings me closer to my goal to have more Caches here in NZ than my home country Germany. TFTC
Found with MrsC on our NZ travels from the UK. Three days in Stewart Island doing coastal walks. Quick find, thanks.
God not working so hint required on our enjoyable walk. Found with mr c on our travels from the UK thank you.
