Headed out after work for a quick walk before it got too dark. A short circular loop up to the reservoir, with 7 caches on the way. Nice quick stop to get my breath and a quick find. Cache/ log all fine. Thanks bumandworker for the smiley.
Quick find out of sight of a Muggle that was following us down the ridge, rehid while he was not watching. Starting to see some new lambs about.

Clearly this one was missing, so with an agreement of the CO, I dropped in a replacement container, as per the hint. Let it live a bit longer.
Like the last cacher I had a good dig around all the warratahs, posts, rocks, and tanks within 10 m of the GZ. I too found nothing.
Unfortunately after a very thorough inspection of the area I didn’t manage to find anything. Ah well it won’t down my spirits, carrying on up the track!
Quick find this afternoon with eltee291 and crman1. Perfect day for a nice hike around the Wither Hills. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache, bumandworker!
Found this one today with hingis20 and crman1. Today was the perfect day to make our way along one of the loops on the Wither Hills. Really awesome up and the views are incredible. Lots of sheep and cows to talk to along the way. Here from Victoria, BC, Canada visiting with my daughter and her family in Blenheim. TFTC
Out in the hills with Eltee291 and Hingis20. Trying to get as many as we can today. Tftc
This one took a wee bit of looking. Dodgy knee so this is as high as I went today. Thanks
Day 2 of our drive to Auckland to catch up with family
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

We had two main reasons to head over the hill again today, there was still a small trail of caches on the Wither Hills we hadn't found plus there was the matter of a pesky Wherigo with a couple of waypoints still to be visited before we could begin to figure out where to find the final.
Most of the walk was in strong winds with the usual icy cold wind at the top which meant we sat in the shelter of the fertiliser bin at the 'Crown' for a break from it while having lunch before completing the loop without too much 'back tracking'.
Secondary to this there was some new caches published since we were here a week ago, three of which were puzzles which we had solved.
The logs today were signed variably H+H, HZ+HM or our full names.
I spotted this one from a short distance then directed Hazedarus on the finer points of retrieval.
Thank you bumandworker.

There was one major blot on our Blenheim cache map. It was the Reservoir Ridge Track. We were looking for a key to give us motivation to succesfully turn green into yellow. Not only was a key presented but a Whereyougo was thrown into the mix as well. The forecast was perfect for the job on hand with cool overcast conditions. At the foot of the Wither Hills we eyed the challenge ahead and off we went. What later developed into a strong and icy cold wind gave us a gentle push in the back and the warm clothing stayed in the pack until a higher altitude was reached. The fertilizer bins at the crown gave welcome shelter for a breezer, some food and a drink. After completing the loop our focus became some new placements and at least for a few hours the map looked a sea of yellow before we received notification of some new placements. And so it continues
Close inspection from outside the perimeter had us spot what could be the cache. I was put on point and told where to go No muggles to consider here and a quick find was made. Thank you bumandworker

Stopped here on a big loop walk in the Wither Hills Park to find some of the many new caches that have been placed in the four or five years since I was last here. A quick find here. Signed log, TFTC.
Getting a few caches over the hill with Nanzie. These caches are nicely placed for rest stops. Quick find thanks bumandworker

Found on a post-school/kindy jaunt up the hill. The cache was soaked on the inside and the log beyond saving, impossible to sign. Left a new piece of paper in a dry bag, hopefully that won't go for a swim also. Tftc.
I headed off into the Wither Hills early this morning left the Redwood St Carpark at 10 past 6 and went up the Sutherland stream track then headed down the Reservoir Ridge track a circuit of just over 10 km which took me 2hr 50 min with stops for 14 finds along the way. The cache had gone for a swim, the log sheet isn't too bad though I replaced it in a more upright stance and covered it with some stones. Cheers and TFTC
A day off work with perfect weather meant a day trip to Blenheim to go and find some caches. Also a perfect day for a wither hills wander. I spend a good two or three hours up and around the trails today. Took me a while to find this one. Fixated on one hint object before I finally looked at the right one. TFTC, Biggles.
QEF. Bit of a stretch to get it but all good. Water has gotten into this one - the lid seems a little cross threaded and bag not sealed - so we could not sign log. Have added new log in a plastic bag until original can be dried out. TFTC
OK... so Mrs SoBad had not read the listing until logging the cache. But she had sat on the seat mentioned and spotted the sponsor. We then would like to say we slowed our approach to the the cache site because we spotted two people heading down and we didn't want to meet them at GZ. In fact we could say that - but going slower at that stage in the walk was welcome. As were the accurate coordinates which gave a quick find. Now onwards - and upwards.
Thanks.
Thanks.
A bit of a grunt up here - - but boy those views make it all worthwhile - - plus I must be getting just a little fitter in the process - - - and yip, collecting smilies along the way. All good. And such a cracker day. TFTC.
We've been in Blenheim for the week for a bit of R&R, kicking off last weekend with the Wine and Food Festival. Today Nana had the kids, so we had the chance to get out on our own and to tackle a couple of puzzle caches I'd solved. It made sense to carry on up the hill and to grab a couple more too, which included this cache - our 950th find. It was a beautiful Marlborough day with views out to Wellington and well up the Wairau Valley. The cache didn't take Mrs long to track down, she was in the right area within seconds and logging our 950th find.
A bit of a grunty walk up here! Might have to work on the old fitness! TFTC.
Decided to finally get into these hill caches. Took Father for a 2 hour walk to the top and back. Tftc. Wondered what caused the triple fences
#1446 Pipe leak = swamped area. Cache was saturated, log totally unusable however will be ok if able to dry. I have recovered it and will pass to capperz who may be able to pass to CO if I am unable to do so myself.
Container dried as best as possible and new logsheet/bag placed in cache. A couple new rocks placed at GZ - sorry - it now looks like a cache to anybody looking (if they know what a cache looks like). Best I could do in a rush as family now wanting dinner so I need to pick up pace a little.
Thanks for another South Island smilie.

A stunning day in Marlborough, great to be up here for a walk. Quick find. Container and log pretty damp. Dried out in the breeze and should be ok now. For other cachers, the plastic bags don't seal when you bend them on the seal strip. I also lifted the cache slightly so water can drain away, still hidden the same. TFTC
out on a sun day afternoon to find a few caches here.
all good here and no problems.
thanks for the cache

A quad bike full of dogs whipped past me further down the track but I couldn't believe it when a different one arrived here seconds before me. So I spent several minutes admiring the view until the farmer did whatever he needed to do and they were all off again allowing me to get on with the find. TFTC #6866
In the area this weekend so I got up early for a short walk up the hill. Nice view up here pre dawn.

#9396. I wonder whether the all these reservoirs are linked to each other. Good views along this ridge. TFTC.
Sure are lots of reservoirs on this track, and most seemed to have a cache . That was fine by me as it kept the interest up because the track was a bit of a slog in places. Good views to be had as I stopped to catch my breath.
After we got on the right side of the fence, the cache was a quick find, third of the morning spent in the Wither Hills. TFTC.

Started off on the wrong side of the barbed wire but soon relocated to make the easy find.
Thanks bumandworker for the cache.

After a relatively quiet weekend on the caching front NZDi and I decided to clear out some of the recently released caches on the Reservoir Ridge. Rather than grunt up the ridge from the bottom picking up caches as we go, we decided to take the longer but less arduous route up Upper Quail Stream picking up a couple of caches that NZDi hasn't got yet and let gravity assist us with our caching by returning down the Reservoir Ridge Track.
The first glitch in our plan came when NZDi went to sign the log at the 'Quail Trail' cache and found our pen had gone dry. To compensate for not being able to sign the logs, we took a photo of the log or cache container as evidence of our visit which we will upload to the cache page. We endeavored to take the photos so that the cache location was not compromised.
This was my third cache for the day (and NZDi's fifth). By the time we got up on the ridge a good Marlborough Nor Wester was blowing so things weren't that pleasant, however we were rewarded on our trip with our own mini-airshow thanks to all the warbirds taking off from Omaka to return home after the Classic Fighters Airshow.
Following the description and hint allowed for a QEF, however the barbed wire made for a tricky retrieve. I see you were in town this weekend, can we expect to see more B&W caches released in Blenheim this week?

I wasn't a premium member, but curiously my Geocaching application started showing some of the premium listings (but not the cache details). This led to the conclusion that it might be worth venturing further up the hill, so I obtained a premium membership upon the ridge - the things one can do with technology nowadays. This therefore is my first premium cache. TFTC.

I was aware that there was to be a t least one new listing this week so was surprised to go to sleep last night with the phone all quiet and no publications evident. Seems Status Quo has become quite the releasing night owl as there were 3 newly laid eggs waiting for hatching when I woke up at ridiculous o clock this morning and cehceked my notifications. Had prior agreed to take fellow cacher the Seagnoid along for an Easter egg hunt if there were any so he was an enthusiastic yes when asked if he wanted to come along. Coming on from 2 previous dark F T Fs it was nice to see the sun starting to peak and the day lightening a little as we decided the third cache of the day was possible before heading off to work. A nice early morning climb, temperature around 7 degrees, so not too warm. A few fellow early morning risers out and about too.
Nice and easy find at G Z and good to turn round and appreciate THAT view, great
T F T C b&w and a nice joint FTF (FTF) {FTF} [FTF] *FTF* @ 0725 (Approx).

[green]{FTF} Capperz and I were suspected that some new caches would come out last night and made tentative plans for a 6am jaunt. The caches came - more than expected - as did 6 o'clock. We figured we had time to do just one, but after doing two and finding we still had time we headed for the hill and a stiff walk. No torch needed, even though dawn had still not arrived by the time we returned to the car. I love walking in the early morning!
In the end Capperz and I did three joint FTFs this morning before work! Woohoo!

Thanks B&W - another reason to trek these hills in my backyard... you are keeping me busy and fit.
