Walking up was exhausting and took a while, but was well worth it for the views! TFTC
Area has been cleared by bulldozer, with cache an unfortunate victim, with just the logbook rescued. Ill get a more suitable container sorted by the end of this month and re-enable it then.
Needs help desperately shattered or something and found the contents all over the ground
We took the easy route here from the top of Glencoe Road. An easy find, thank you.
This has been on my radar for years. Came up before Xmas with no luck & have had a watch on it since then. Very happy that it has been replaced so today was a very quick easy find. Fav point from me TFTC
Quick time on our midday hike. Great views the way up and a quicker route on the way down. Thanks for the cache!
A great walk, mostly shaded on a hot day. Steady climb but well worth it for the view. Cache was easily located and a nice reward for the work.

Sadly someone has walked off with this ammo can cache [:-(] I’ll get another container up there within a week.
Replaced original ammo can with 2ltr snaplock container with new logbook, and trade items.
Today is a beautiful day after a long time.I decided today for the Tobins track.️I was looking for this cache for a long time, but unfortunately I couldn't find it.
Low cloud today, I’ll have to come back on a clear day, I bet the views are amazing. Got the cache and started to descend this track, wow okay maybe not. Was more like a mudslide then a track. Usually I’d be keen for the challenge but today I’m not feeling being covered in mud. Thanks for enticing me to the area with another smilie.
Its been a long time in the planning but finally the week long trip to the South Island to complete the Routeburn Track is here. Day #6 of the trip and this and tomorrow were to be our relaxation / chilling days post walk....yeah right...off we went on the trail for cache finding!!
Woohoo we made it to the top! Nice to stretch our legs. Wandered down the little path that likely would have gotten quite steep after this point for a nice quick find for B4Dawn.
Thanks for the cache.

An awesome walk with the dog. I have walked up and down here a couple of things but today I got to the top. At the top I thought I would check for caches and yippee there was one. Even better was it had a pen as I didn't have one on me. TFTC a great cache and hide
Our niece took us for a hike and when reaching the top, wondered if a cache was nearby... Yes! And a mighty fine one too. Nice to find some good old style caches like this ( decent container, walk, and destination ) still exist. TFTC! Incredible the last log was back in June!
Found months ago but in the excitement i forgot to log this one. Duh.
Up in Arrowtown - enjoying a stay at Millbrook while most of the tourists are absent due to covid pandemic still raging around the world.
This was an unexpected bonus cache today, as we came up here for the view and to a place not visited before.
Bonus was a cache as well.

After finding the cache at the hut ruins, made a spur of the moment decision to divert up the Tobins Drop track (bottom S44 57.618 E168 51.193). Very well used and a good warm-up on cold day! Snow lying on ground from halfway up hill, after last night's front. At top, investigated the fenceline before realising it was right there. The elusive dark ammo can! Photos at top of that classic Wakatipu basin panorama. Think we'll plod back the easy way for a late lunch!
Made the find with only 1% battery life left on my phone! Ultra happy I made it to the top to get a photo and that it led me to the cache before it crapped out! Nice big one in a great hiding spot! Bummed I wasn’t able to find the one on the way out- guess I’ll have to come back TFTC
What a walk. Just steep enough to make you hate every step, lol. But a beautiful view of a tiny town! After looking at the view, I made my way down the steep path to the cache and made the find. Didn't go the rest of the way down the steep path due to Converse being my choice footwear. Maybe next time. Always nice to find some choice music in a cache as well. TFTC!
We had a free 30
Minutes today while we were in Arrowtown so we jumped in the car and drove up to the top of the track and made the short wander down to the cache. Quickly found, log signed and then back to Arrowtown. TFTC

**Found this nicely hidden cache whole out walking the Tobin’s track**
Cachewnut_ and I (with some other family members) were out on a geocaching/walking trip today.
Once we got to the top of the track, we had a nice picnic just before finding this geocache.
A nice find to grab while on the way down.

Great! Cachewnut and another one of our team members found this one. They didn’t have a pen so couldn’t sign log. Well Done with this little cache to find while on the way down. TFTC!!
Managed to drive to about 250 m.of cache and then slithered down muddy track to the cache. Good to find caches in the wide open spaces. TFTC
A much longer and more tiring walk to the top than I expected, but rewarded with great views, personal satisfaction and to top it all off a fantastic cache! Finding this one felt like a classic cache adventure, even with an ammo van filled with sizeable swag for the full authenticity - would highly recommend future finders bring some items to drop in! Tftc, a favourite point for the adventure
We found a much closer parking spot that the one on the cache description page!! Dakotacats tells me that when we lived in Arrowtown she used to bring me up here in a backpack - so I guess this is a return visit of sorts. Great views and we really liked the cache. TFTC
Soooo it turns out that you can drive to the top of Tobins Track, who knew!! We had come over from Wanaka so came in from the Crown Range road. Plenty of bunnies on the road and we also saw a pheasant and her two babies. A short walk to the cache from the top. Cheers for the cache, it's always nice to find a decent container.
During our Holidays in New Zealand we found a lot of very pleasant places. This one with an incredible lookout. Finding the cache was not a problem and so I could sign the logbook.
Thanks for showing this spot an greetings from Germany

Great day for a run with added bonus of a geocache at the top. Cache in great condition and dry as a bone. Tftc.
A great early morning walk up Tobins hill. Found the cache without too much hassle and then a slow walk down the very icy hill. TFTC!
Running the clock down while there was still some moonlight left and Venus was ascending, nice one. Found the tin after a good walk up the track to the top. The trapping seems to be working as we didn't see any possums around, just a dead rabbit that got flicked off the track. The tin was soon in hand and the little woman remembered the swag and chucked in a hat and some baubles. The lot got bagged in a familiar strong baggy after SL. Sat out the last hour watching the airport workers preparing the runway before returning for the other two. TFTC
A quickly found. Thanks for schowing this place and hidding the cache!!!

Today we are cycling from Arrowtown to Wanaka, and Tobins track is an obvious choice . Tftc!
A pleasant evening stroll up the track to find this cache and some others on the way. A little exposed in its current position but probably not easily spotted by anyone not actively looking for it.
Picked up a TB and will move this one along.

Merry Christmas! After a big cooked breakfast and before the start of the early afternoon feast, the whole family went for a walk up Tobins Track to burn off a few pancakes. Always fun to find an ammo can. Took TB to continue its travels. TFTC GSVNofixedabode.
Yep....TFTC....doooogies howling at nearby residents.... the one that can fly away
It's been years since I've been to the top of Tobins Track! Lovely day for a walk, capturing some fantastic photos from up here! TFTC
A week of Odyssey caches in the lakes district. Second time walking up here and the view never gets old. Good to sit down on the ledge and soak up some sun there. Found after a short spell cooling off, dipped down the track and grabbed the ammo tin, I luv 'em! At least this one didn't try to take my fingers off. TFTC
Awesome location and great views up here. I cheated and took the 4 wheels option to get up here. Awesome cache TFTC
Having found the cache at Tobin's cottage ruins when here last November, there was more time and inclination this time to venture up to the top. The views at various gaps in the trees along the way and then the whole panorama was well worth the easy but steady climb up the dusty road. We could see the increasing activity below on the manicured golf courses as preparations and practice rounds were in progress ahead of the NZ Open.
As often seems to be the case with reasonably remote caches like this, muggles sometimes find them and investigate and even add their names to the log, as they have here, especially when it's a nice big ammo can like this cache.
Thanks for the cache placement and the incentive to venture up to this great look-out and geodetic trig point.

Have run up form Arrowtown a few times, but today cheated and approached by car from the top. Great place for a cache, pity we didn't have time to explore the path descending form the cache.
Found on 11/11/2015.
Great views before the steep descent to the river.

Beautiful day for a walk up a hill. I've been meaning to walk up Tobins for years!
We took the easier approach and drove to the top of Tobin's Track, then walked. Cloud was coming and going at ground level so the views were not great.
+ a large marble, - nothing.

Cant believe we could have driven here! But it is a great view, and the walk up probably did some good. TFTC
