We are on another short (three day) caching holiday in North Western Sydney, staying for two nights in a park cabin at the Ingenia Holidays Avina BIG4 Holiday Park at Vineyard. Planning on exploring the suburbs of Lalor Park, Kings Park, Marayong, Glenwood, The Ponds, Rouse Hill, Scheyville, Agnes Banks, Yarramundi, Hawkesbury Heights, and Castlereagh. Hoping to collect some more previously solved Mystery/Puzzle caches, complete some more Adventure Labs and SideTracked caches, and accumulate some more "units of fuel" for the "Cosmic Quest" souvenir challenge with a view to scoring the 100 point Ultra fuel souvenir. Our final day will have us going via Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside, for some more caching and a visit to the Nurragingy Miniature Railway, before taking the M7 & M2 Motorways back to home. Photos will be uploaded to logs on our return to home base.Today (day 2) our first mission for the day was to log our 7000th Milestone find with a Mystery/MultiCache at historic Scheyville, followed by a nearby previously solved Mystery/Puzzle, which sadly ended with a DNF. Then it was a drive over to Agnes Banks for a MultiCache, followed by a drive up Springwood Road to Hawkesbury Heights, collecting numerous Traditional caches and Adventure Lab stages along the way. Ended our day with a drive down Castlereagh Road for a Traditional cache and an Adventure Lab stage. This was the 18th of 20 finds for the day (day 2), and 34th find of the holiday. After finding lots of caches on a drive up & down Springwood Road we were now driving down Castlereagh Road and took a little detour out to this one. Left the tar and drove down the grassy track to GZ for a nice quick find at the appropriate tree. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC thetastate, and happy International Geocaching Day to everyone Find #7017
Recommend rear entry rather than trying to broach lantana at front. Quiet peaceful day away from schoolkids on holiday. Co ords good. Fairly straightforward find. Log sopping and in signable. Pic provided. Thanks for placing this, the tastate
Went to the Hawkesbury and while out here I stopped here for this one and a quick find was madeWith cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. This one has evaded me this time.
I am pretty sure I could see it but I wasn’t going in there after rain.
I am pretty sure I could see it but I wasn’t going in there after rain.
Believe we found what looks to be a little container lid was off and no contents. (looked like a little pill or tablet bottle)
Awkward find in full view of residents, high muggle rate now, thanks for the placement
DNF. Wasn't feeling very stealthy looking for this one, it being so close to a property. Lot's of dry grass had me crunching about GZ.

I had an hour to spare while in Penrith today so figured I'd put the time to good use by chasing a smiley on this cache that I'd overlooked when I was doing a caching run in this part of the world a couple of weeks back.
A straightforward find. Plenty of leaf litter around to make things a little challenging, but the judicious use of a natural tool soon uncovered the cache in the logical hiding place. Thanks for the hide.

We are based in Richmond for a few days and what a wonderful choice of caches. Today we followed the gps without a very firm plan of what we were doing and this was one of the caches we targetted and found. Thanks to thetastate for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
#4250 (9 of 10 today)
My finds per weekday are pretty close. Recently my finds on a Friday exceeded my finds on a Saturday. But one day lags somewhat behind all the others... Sunday.
So today I decided to go for a slew of easy hides to balance things up a bit... OK, a small bit.
Headed out to Yarramundi / Grose Wold mid afternoon and managed ten finds (out of 10) in under two hours.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Time to start heading home, so decided to target a few caches on the opposite side of the river.
Hmmm, this one is between two properties. And there are goats watching me.
Got the right spot first up, but the camo was so good I started checking elsewhere. Came back to it soon enough - and a little digging had CIH.
Completed signing duties and replaced. Then back past the goats to the car.

27/3/17. 10:38 AM. Cache #4887.
1st of 6 finds - Agnes Banks, Castlereagh, Galston.
In January, I cleared out the caches in Agnes Banks on the Hawkesbury council side (north of Bonner Rd). Today, I'm clearing those on the Penrith side, plus grabbed some other caches in the area. Started off at this one. Very peaceful around here; lots of bellbirds 'pipping'.
I used the hint to make an easy find. Signed log, replaced with camo and went on to "The Passenger". TFTC.

Out with Team Merlin in order to find our daily cache to keep our streak going.
With coordinates in hand we headed to the stated coordinates. Parked the car as close as possible. Now on foot headed towards GZ. Locating GZ it was a quick find. With the cache in hand we both signed the log, before replacing as found. The cache log and container are in good condition.

After attending a family history meeting in Windsor in the morning, headed out with JJCC for an afternoon cache run in order to find our daily cache to keep our streak going.
Parking the car about 70 metres away we made the short walk down towards GZ. A duck down under the two trees and a quick discovery was made. With the cache safely in hand we both signed the log, before replacing as found. The cache container and log are in good condition.

Car gps kept saying “turn right on road” but I couldn’t see any road and initially missed the turn off to what was supposed to be “the road”. Once parked within 5m of GZ, was a quick find.

This was the only find for today. I was keen to find this cache because it filled a missing date on my dates hidden calendar. I have enjoyed driving through this area finding some other caches so I decided this would be a nice Sunday drive. I happened upon GZ and decided to drive up on to the grass where the tyre tracks were. I stopped about 30 m away and then walked up. It was easy to spot GZ which meant the cache was also a quick find. I didn't want to disturb the neighbours so I quickly signed the log and left. TNLN. TFTC.

The cache was very easy but I enjoyed the location. Such a lovely spot by the river. TFTC.
Streak Day #798 - Met up with ris768 and dave8153 at GZ, apparently the neighbours were intrigued as to why ris768 was there and probably even more confused when dave and i rocked up haha. TFTC
I met up with Snoopy1976 and Dave8153 to find this cache. I got there first and I had my 3 geodogs in tow, probably a good thing I did as the neighbours were out chatting and one of them came over to check me out. Fortunately it just looked like I was exercising my dogs, the goat and minature pony were also intrigued with our presence as they joined their owner to say hello. The neighbour went back to chat to the other people he was with and then Snoopy arrived. Just as we make the find, Dave shows up, now I am sure the neighbour thinks I'm doing more than exercising my dogs. SL #2196 on streak day #1169 TFTC

Interesting location, would never have come down here if not for caching. Nice quick easy find. I was a bit worried about it being close to houses but didn't see anyone.
Thanks for the cache thetastate.

Nice spot here, although I thought it might have been close to the water. Thanks thetastate
A bit close to a house, and there was someone on a ride on mower, but they ignored me as I made an easy find.
My first find for the day. After choosing the area for my caching ground this morning, it was the first of many finds.
Thanks for the cache.

After meeting and having a coffee in Richmond with 'goingplaces2' discussing things caching and in particular how they went at the recent Mega in Queensland. This allow the muggles to pack away their things from this mornings market day, before they tackled Richmond, NSW Australia (reason they were in Richmond).
Then it was off to here where a quick find was made by goingplaces2 and we all signed the log. tftc

No trouble finding this one with lucky1955 and even the mugglehounds next door settled down when we moved a bit further away. TFTC,
Had neighbours on both sides outside...probably wondering why we were wandering and wondering. TFTC
Joint FTF with WaywardWoman and AMGSARI
It was a slow day. The highlight, so far, had been the early arrival of the washing machine repairman. NickoHeap and Garks were at the Easter show, and I'd been reading Virginia Woolf's 'Flush' since their leaving, a biography of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's spaniel. When you consider that it has variously been considered a meditation on the position of women in Victorian society as well as a commentary on the rise of fascism in Europe, there's no saying where reading between the lines will get you.
It was the WaywardWoman who spotted the publication of this cache. She was eager to go for an hour's drive to clear the cobwebs. Her decision might have been motivated by a reaction to the position of women in the twenty first century whose washing machines have just been fixed after a long period of rain. Or maybe she just likes caching. Either way, I was over Virginia Woolf, too, and tired of trawling the Internet for academic readings about a mutt.
So we drove down to Agnes Banks. When we came to the bend in the road we saw a ute from Endeavour Energy parked near where we guessed the cache would be. The WaywardWoman was reluctant to drive down the grassy track if there were workmen about, but I persuaded her not to worry. We parked at the end of the track and walked back towards the cache. As I was passing the driver got out and called to me by name. It turned out that he wasn't there on any official business, but was in fact AMGSARI, considering his search options.
We established that the coordinates might be out, since AMGSARI had already taken a look at the place where we were heading. So we all took a look there, just to be sure, and then decided it was the wrong spot. We considered the hint, and then expanded our search. We soon found the cache easily enough, and signed the log away from any neighbours who might get concerned.
When we got home I got a text from our sons. They had sent a photo. Garks had bought himself a horse head at the show and was wearing it. In the spirit of reading between the lines I wasn't sure whether he was referencing the 'Godfather' or Picasso's 'Guernica'. There was no way a seventeen year old boy could just be horsing around.
Thankyou to thetastate for your first cache, and AMGSARI.
PS. I found the coordinates were somewhere between 17 to 20 metres out, so I have added some suggested coordinates to this log.

#2923- Joint FTF @1.41pm with bikerbuddy and Amgsari.
It was one of those days- the washing machine had just been repaired and I had loads of washing both to do and dry to bring in. Pairing socks is such a drag. I needed to clear my head.
I had checked emails and seen this one pop up some hours before. GazMag- no,Toriaz-no, Amgsari- maybe- oh well, let's try for a FTF. We spotted Toriaz coming back up Hawkesbury rd, and I, not realising she was off , thought she'd already been there. Just a lovely drive anyway.
We arrived at the bend in the road, contemplating whether to drive in the section between the houses. There was a work van there, so we decided he'd be good camo for us. As we got out of the car and walked back, I heard him say bikerbuddy's name. I hadn't met Amgsari before.- nice to meet you.
We looked around , but the co-ords were taking us to a spot where there was no cache. Continued looking and bikerbuddy turned it up at another spot about 20m away. A nice little spot with a combination of plants I wasn't aware of.
Congratulations on your first cache- took the minion TB to move on- have been loving all the minion memes on FB lately. Thanks

The Imp has an RAD exam coming up soon, so she has intensive ballet workshops every day this week. So while I saw this cache earlier in the day, dance took a higher priority than the fleeting glory of a FTF. Especially as we had already planned to head in this direction after ballet for another cache.
So it was fairly late in the day by the time we made it to this cache. I used bikerbuddy's coordinates and made a quick find. The lack of camo over the cache added to the ease of the find. What I imagined was the intended camo was nearby, so I used it to cover the container. I hope the lack of cover isn't indicative that an inquisitive neighbour hasn't found the cache.
This is a lovely spot, thanks .

Joint FTF with Bikerbuddy and the Waywardwoman even though I must admit Bikerbuddy made the discovery. Initially I had followed my GPS only to come away with nothing so I then retreated to the car to research the hint a little more when a familiar face turned up at GZ.
With extra sets a caching eyes on the scene the search was on again, the hint finally made sense some 20meters from where I had GZ and the cache was located soon after.
Thanks to thetastate, nice part of the hawkesbury down here.
The snowball TB is now safe with me.
