Logs
Having got the coordinates on a recent trip to Belfast to visit my parents and ran out of time to find the cache, today was the day. Having just got off the plane, I asked the taxi driver to drop me off just at the GZ, waited til he was out if sight and had a quick fumble in the dark. So glad to have found it - my first of 2016. Awarding a fav point as CS Lewis means a lot to me. TFTC
#1084 deepest apologies I somehow managed to lose the log in dark and the wind replaced with temporary log
Last night we were scoping out a few challenges online, one of which was 75 multi-caches so today was a chance to get a bit closer. Off to Victoria Park for a bit of a cycle and some swings we did a quick stop and took a photo from the window of the car. Fast forward to some supervision in the playpark and a chance to work out the final coordinates before heading back to the car. A quick stop and grab in the end, surprised to find an opportunity for a magnetic cache here, but simple enough in the end. Who knows if we will sign that challenge or not in the end, but at least now we're only 46 short! TFTC
14/15 Finds which also included 1 DNF during a wonderful late morning / early afternoon caching session accompanied by mrs_sgtzara and Tigra, our 11 year old German Shepherd Dog.
11 of these 15 finds were in the beautiful setting of the Stormont Estate with the remaining 4 finds and 1 DNF being in the general East Belfast area.
A good day for it, dry and reasonably warm which seemed to bring muggles out in large numbers too but thankfully with a bit of patience on occasions, they didn't present any huge problems.
Anyhow, as for this cache, with our main walk of the day around Stormont done, it was now time to take a wee scoot through East Belfast and see about picking up a few caches that have been on our radar for a while now. mrs_sgtzara was happy enough with this plan as I said once we'd finished, we'd nip into Spoon Street and enjoy some delicious fro-yo with all the toppings.
While driving past the 'item of interest', I shouted out the information to mrs_sgtzara who duly noted same on the back of her hand. Parked up a short distance away to do our sums then set off towards GZ.
Once there, we'd to wait on two sets of muggles passing before we could begin our search in peace. First location searched produced negative results, the second .... BINGO.
Enjoyable wee multi-cache andreabelfast and the third multi-cache we've done today and indeed third that we've awarded a favourite point to.
Wouldn't have learnt about this wee bit of important local history if it wasn't for same. Would love to see a photo of the site before the flats were erected.
SL & TFTC (favourite point awarded - thanks!).
