Heading from Scone up into Barrington, we took the long way to grab a pair of caches we had planned to get yesterday, but a tyre blowout necessitated urgent repairs. This was a pretty quick find today, to avenge a DNF we managed a while back. We even had a coal train pass underneath as we found it. TFTC Rock_Dok

On a drive up to Quirindi to pick up a motorbike for Mr TGK we stopped here on the way home to grab this one. A quick find. Cache needs new log. TFTC
Found with Beary_Unicorns, just Miss Bear with me today. Miss Beary found this one, again she proves too good for me. Visited TBs, Tftc.
It was just getting dark but luckily it was a quick find and sign.
No coal trains but the passenger service came into the station while I was there.

Last find for the day. The light was beginning to fade and we still had quite a drive back to Sydney, so at this point I decided to stop any further caching for the day.
I don't often just walk up to a nano like that and make a grab, but the co-ords were good and the hint suggested the necessary action, and I just had such a lucky grab. No complaining, because in the fading light there would have been a good chance I would have given up pretty soon if I had not found the little critter so quickly.
Log signed, everything returned as found, and then we had to put our heads down and get home, no sparing the horses ...

Found on the way home from Tamworth after doing a trip around NSW following the Murray and Darling Rivers, visiting the following places, Young, Mulwala, Barham, Wentworth, Mungo National Park, Copi Hollow, Wilcannia, Louth, Brewarrina, Warrumbungles and Tamworth, crossing over the border to visit some adjacent town on the way. This was a quick find thanks to the hint. TFTC Rock_Dok

Found by Mary & David at 1425. No trains while we were there. M grew up in Victoria so this area is new for her. Our thanks to Rock_Dok.
Tftc,
Took a while to spy this one.
It was amazing how many people drive across the bridge and look at you.
Visited trackables.

I, mr Chippyroo, am staying in Aberdeen for work and thought I go for a little drive around town grabbing some caches.
Took me a little while to locate this one but had it in hand. No trains while searching either

7089 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1025. The cache is spot on. As we made homage and bowed a coal train passed under this feature. The thing must have been over 1500 metres long. SL Tnx Rock_Dok
We are heading from Brisbane to Bright in Victoria, caching as we go, wherever it is safe to pull up with the caravan. We left Brisbane on 3rd Jan and don't have to be in Bright til the end of the month. Today's drive takes us from our camp at Burning Mountain to Musswellbrook.
We parked the van and went for a drive around town without it. Saw a country train near this cache. Thanks Rock-Dok

Last Aberdeen cache found and Las to find in the Coalies series. Thanks Rok_Dok.
My 2nd find in this series being railfans, we "Bowed To The Train" (that arrived about 15 minutes after I found the li'l blither) The train was the Flour train to Gunnedah numbered 9537N which had motive power 8174+8113+8227 past our cameras at 08:20, Gunnedah bound [^] Not a Coalie but it'll do, lol I signed the wee log scroll at 08:04 on Thu 28 Sept 2017. Late afternoon by now, on our long drive north. But we still had enough light left for an easy find here.
Thanks

The light was beginning to fade as we reached this cache. Some of the local girls were dressed up in twenties costumes and were walking along the road for their night out as we approached the cache. The hint was actually quite useful, leading to an easy find. Thanks
A newbie to Geocaching. I Remember hearing of it some years ago and it sounded fun but i never looked into it. Now after seeing the enjoyment my minions aged 6 & 5 get from Pokemon hunting and wanting to start on the painted rocks left in park for other kids to find craze i decided to look up this geocache thing. To my absolute surprise its still a thing and there are plenty to find locally so lets get started! Today is my first day. And out with Sister Geocacher Gibberish101.
On the way to sydney from tamworth. The weather isnt good today. Anyway grocaching will do good for me . Thanks.
A busy place to be at 4.20pm. Not with trains but with passing muggles. Had a muggle school boy in a bus wave to us while here and I wondered if he might have been a cacher who knew why we were hanging around here.
Quickly found but the contents were a bit big for the container here. The lid has become detached but we still managed to get it back on.
Thanks.

It took a few minutes of searching, but the timing was perfect- I spotted it and signed the log as a coal train passed underneath.

Staying for a few days in Upper Hunter valley, and after some wine tasting it was time for some geocaching in the area. Aberdeen was close to our b&b, so that was the logic choice for the day.
The third Coalie cache, this time not troubled by a level railway crossing, but a bridge. The cache was easily found thanks to the shadow of the fence on the sidewalk.
Thanks for the cache, Rock_Dok.

After spending several months house sitting around the Central Coast, Sydney and Bateman's Bay it is time to head back to Queensland.
But I have time to find a few caches around Aberdeen.
A quick find once at GZ. Not need to put yourself in any danger getting this one.
Thanks for the cache.

Good spot. Walked past it a far few times. But just had to stop and think about it for a second.

A long vehicle and trailer can be restricting for cache hunting which is why we stopped for this . . . . big parking. No trains, but a quick find, a breath of fresh air and we were on our way. TFTC Rock Dok.
We had travelled up from Sydney, spending a week or so in Tamworth & Nundle for the April school holidays, and collecting caches along the way. Today we are heading back toward Sydney, but will have an overnight stop at Singleton, before arriving back home. This was the 7th find of the day, 88th find of the holiday.
Another nice quick roadside "park & grab", this time at the rail bridge crossing. Watched a looong coal train roar through below us. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC Rock Dok.

Had a good look, maybe we couldn't bow low enough. Had a toot from a car passing on the main road, I hope it was a geocacher.
Thanks Roc_Dok this means we still have more to find next time we are in your area.

We parked around past the bridge and searched while no-one was driving past. MrsFish soon found it as she always does when I am getting nowhere. Thanks for a great, sneaky little hide.
We had some unfinished caching business in Muswellbrook but did a few extra ks to grab a few in Scone and Aberdeen.
A quick find using the touchy-feely method and a bit of a bow too. The O ring on this one has perished and broken. Had a spare with us so we replaced it. Thanks Rok Dok

Took a bit longer than the last but only by a minute or so. Really enjoyed this 1, got to watch the coal train go underneath. Tftc
