Checked on this area today and the demolition appears to be completed (for now). There is an interesting 'pop up park' (see photos) but as we don't know what the long-term plans are for the area, have sadly decided to archive this cache. The graffiti is still worth visiting.
It has gone walk-about as the area is changing with buildings being demolished etc we will put a replacement on hold for now and see what we can set up in the future.
Sadly we think this one has gone as two of us couldn't locate this one, maybe some of the art has been replaced with signage
Noted a few DNFs but was walking past GZ so thought id go take a look anyhow. No luck for us here either and would suspect that this ones gone. We will be back another time.
This was our first of 3 dnfs and the start to a very windy hour.unless this cache is where construction is going on.. nice to see the graffiti
Called in here with HKCB, 11hpg11 and Kyb3r after visiting two other geocaches in the area which we have since found out were disabled and missing keen to make a find. We scoured the area and even PAF but came away empty handed.
Another big mission for our little Hamilton team. Maybe this time we can clean out Tauranga and the surrounding areas. Our team consisted of HKCB, Iammrwalker, Kyb3r and myself. We signed the logs as HIK1 (or 1HIK as the day went on!) Another 4am wakeup and we were on the road by 5am. Back home by 11pm I think it was, it was all kind of a blur by then! We were fueled by Sour Patch Kids, B.K., Caffeine and quite a few painkillers. We had a great day with a large variety of cache types, sizes and difficulty! Thanks to all the cache owners for their hard work on giving us some great quality caches to find. We had a few milestones hit today and I think we all had a great time. Looks like we might be back again some time in the future!
Must need new glasses, 4 of us looking but we couldn't spot anything today. Interesting spot though, I am sure we will be back.

#7141. Parked on Devonport Road in Tauranga for an interesting walk after dinner around the Legal Graffiti Art area. GZ was all quiet when we arrived. Found after a short search. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Nice hike today from 13th Ave to The Mount. 26 finds in total. But just nice to be out on such a nice day!
Hint is not relevant anymore, but quick find nonetheless.
TFTC and greetings from Hong Kong!

Didn't understand the clue and walked right past it, more caught up in looking at the art. Hidden in plain sight.
Quick find but was confused by the clue??? Maybe it related to something that was once on the wall there or I'm just a bit "slow" ha, ha
Never would have come here or know about this without the cache placement so thanks for that. I didn't get the hint either but spotted the cache very quickly TFTC
Gosh my finger are frozen and i needed 10 min to get it out of the case...finally got there and must say it is a freat corner i didnt expect in tauranga. Thx
Yay found qiuckly on a cold Sunday morning so no one about. Enjoyed checking out the talent. Didn't get the hint so lucky we didn't need it. TFTC great start to our day.
Today we are heading over to visit various friends that we haven't managed to catchup with for a while (and a little bit of caching in between). Having visited some friends we now have a little time before the next set so time to wipe out a few caches through this part of town.
This was the ninth of the day and with now that the rain had cleared so more serious caching was happening. Plenty of muggles about but managed a very quick grab and walk away.
Thanks for the placement

After bumping into jandalsndaisy on the bridge she told us that she had struggled to get this one due to muggle activity....we had to walk into town and what better way to go than passed a cache. No muggles for us and despite not quite understanding the hint.....too young.....the hide was obvious and on closer inspection the cache popped into our hands.

Over from Hamilton for the weekend, but with two muggle sisters, not steed, just two finds today. They were happy to indulge me finding this quickie after our walk. An interesting concept, thanks for showing us.
When it said park I expected trees and grass but that isn't what I got. Good placement and an interesting, if busy, spot. TFTC
Quick search around to find this one.
However got it located and log signed. TFTC

Second find tonight have to get the kids over to Te Puna now for training. This was a quick find also I remember watching Mork and Mindy as a kid. Lots of muggles coming to there cars after work so we were careful to retrieve the cache took back to car to sign then returned .tftc
Some brilliant art here. We hung about for a while watching a Parking Warden dishing out tickets and not wanting to get one, we kept moving around. Finally Mrs S roamed around on foot and following her iPhone and her finely honed Geocaching instincts soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks nzkites for another smilie on Tauranga. That makes a clean sweep in the city.

Out grabbing a few inner city caches before the rain gets here.
Parked down by the rail bridge and walked up to this one. Again coords were right on the money and took me to GZ where the cache was quickly recovered and the log signed. Thanks for the placement nzkites.

We were lucky enough to see an artist at work however that meant we had to delay our search. After finding some other local caches we returned just as he was adding what we thought were the finishing touches. After he departed we made a hasty find and took the cache back to the geocamper to complete the log however before we had time to return the cache the artist came back. Obviously he had forgotten to take photos of his masterpiece. We waited and we waited and we waited some more and finally after quite some time spent admiring his handy work he left and we were able to replace the cache. Thanks for the adventure and the fun of this find TFTC.
Not too much art here today, looks like the walls are ready to be done again though. Tried to go in for the quick find but felt like we were being watched but people walking by, decided to give it a miss this time but spotted it just as we went to walk away, not sure how we missed it in the first place. Thanks
These urban caches are always challenging with people and cctv cameras around.
However coords were good on this. A satisfying find.

#359 - How did i not know this was here! what a good idea. Parked close and walked to GZ found relatively easily thanks to the spot on co-ords. TFTC
Love seeing street art (as opposed to just plain old graffiti). Thanks for showing it off!

Needed a cache today and after running marathon yesterday it needed to be close to car, no hills, and no steps. Thought this one may be a good candidate and yes all good.. Looked at a good spot as approaching and thought - yip that is it Longest part is returning the logs as I always seem to have to have a couple of get.. Boy I love namos! . Log sheet filling fast, popular cacheTFTC
6am - Drove right to this one, only the street sweeper around. Quick find and off. SLTFTC
We are off on an aventure weekend this will be one of many to come after the Tauranga Event Tftc
We clambered up the steep wooden stairs from The Strand. rusty led us along with her GPS, seeing as she had the foresight to load the co-ords before we came to Tauranga. The rest of us: me, Rebel98, supernanny and willbuild came along for the ride and the super amount of fun. We came to a halt in this alley, where the art work was, when it was realised we hit GZ, I soon realised this had to be where the Mork hid his nano nano! Weren't too many places here for that cache and I spotted in almost instantly! Not bragging though... yea right. Then after signing the log we came to realise one of us was missing! Rebel decided to be a rebel and bolted off somewhere. We found him in a shop, we thought he might be called of to a call of nature. But no, so we joined him and had a fascinating look thru the 1-2-3- dollar shop, we came out with some caching goodies! Lots of fun had by all.
Spot on the coordinates but still fooled us for a little while.
Thank you for introducing us to all this graffiti, people have had fun creating them.

After the 15yrs events, spending whats left of the afternoon to make a few finds. Graffitti Art was awesome and some good eyesight spotted the cache in seconds. SL. TFTC.
With rebel98, supernannny, gorby and willbuild we made our way to the next cache, within minutes gorby already had the cache in his hand smiling
We admired the various pieces of art. Then walked onto the high street, visited the nearist 1,2,3 dollar shop and found some caching supplies! Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.

Some cool artworks around here. Never been here before, so we're glad there's a cache here. Spot on coordinates made a quick find for us. Nice camo, it blends great in to it's surroundings. SL
Thanks nzkites

Forgot my spray can so will have to make do with my tag on the logsheet.
Homer is my favourite, like the way the "artist" has incorporated his initials OD in his eyes...

Gps was playing up in the ally way so turned off phone and went visual mode .took awhile and found it where i didn't expect to .awsome cache .tftc
Late find while there were no muggles around, the co-ordinates were a little out for me however the note dated 17 Apr helped and intuition did the rest. Interesting that you can phone the local grafitti officer at the council to get permission to grafitti! TFTC nzkites, #7817
Cool art forgot to bring a pen so will come back to sign log when I back this way
Found easily thanks to the revised coords which put me right on it.
This had been a NZKites caching weekend for me. Thank you very much for the well planned and fun hides.
This had been a NZKites caching weekend for me. Thank you very much for the well planned and fun hides.
Strangely the GPS seemed to be having a real hissy fit showing 10m this way & next second 10m in a different direction.I quietly wandered around looking for possible hides having sussed the hint & decided that unless the invisible field had been removed there weren't many,so ignoring the GPS checked all possibles one by one & came up trumps.Took a while as I only had 4 mins left on my half hour parking ticket when I got back to the car.Thankyou nzkites, all's well that ends well.
We think the coordinates may be out on this listing. After checking today with our GPS it seemed to want to lead us to the other wall. when we took the reading for this we used a Garmin and averaged it but it still seems to be wrong. We had intended to hide this a couple of years ago but were not able as another new cache was published minutes before the coordinates we took then were S 37 41.191 E 176 10.180
and looking at google maps they seem better than the listed ones. We will get down to GZ over the weekend and check and change the listing if better. Try them and let us know what you think. Apologies to those finders prior to this.
Parked up and as soon as we'd sussed the hint out we were away. Cache quickly in hand, and log new enough to not be a problem removing. A neat spot - I happened to walking through here one time when they were working on all this, fascinating to watch. But I'm not really into tags as such so I've attached my favourite piece below. Cheers nzkites.
Quick FTF (fourth to find) at lunch time today. I love the urban caches and hope to hide a few of my own around soon. Thanks nz kites. TFTC.

Dot Day... Another big drive to fill a space on the calendar.
As expected, I had a little bit of trouble with these coordinates, which were out on my iPhone. The best thing to do in this situation is to turn off the device and search visually. It took some time for the eye to register... I did make one sweep of the artworks before spotting this hide. TFTC.

Driving home from work and a email pops up and im pretty much right near it so had to give this a crack. First on the scene and had s good look around but might of been reading too much into the clue. Bridgeaway and gopro pretty much turned up at the same time good to meet them at last and nice FTF tnxpro and im sure i looked there lol. Thanks Nzkites have walked past here many of times
And the winner is....ME . My second {FTF} this week. Am starting to like it when Splatty leaves town.
When I got to GZ, Bridgeaway and kiwimikebop were already on the hunt. While they disappeared down the alley looking at every conceivable crack and crevice (or whatever), I went in for the kill and came up trumps with a sneaky little hide. Thanks nzkites for another great urban camo'd cache.

Another trip out in the evening for, hopefully a FTF, but no such luck this time. When we drove up the alleyway, we saw someone walking about the area with a phone in his hand. I said he looks like another cacher, and it was kiwimikebop, good to meet up with him. Then tnxpro arrived, and we all had a good look around the cool looking artwork adorning the alleyway walls. But we were a short distance away from tnxpro when he called out that he had found it. And kiwimikebop claimed 2nd to find, and we were 3rd to sign the log. Thanks, nzkites, for bringing us to check out the downtown artworks here.
