Found with minniek and the rest of Team CC24 (Canberra Canoeists 2024).Day 2 of our Colo River Region Caching Adventure. After an amazing days caching yesterday mainly on the river, it was time for some bushwalking for caches today. The main aim were the Challenges and Yin Yang series (or at least as many as we had solved). Nice quick find. Signed, returned, and we continued on our way to the next one. Thanks teamMerlin !!
Find # 13050Following an epic paddle on the Colo today, after a brief rest a few of us went off caching on the way home and off to the next event.Always energy for just one more - with Smittengranny, KittyKatch, and Joolay. Many thanks to teamMerlin for placing EG-Q#10: Lilburndale for us all to enjoy. Your contribution to the game through the placement and maintenance of this cache over the years is appreciated.
Spending some time caching around the NSW/ACT southern tablelands with lots of side trips. TFTC.Another day around the hills of Colo River collecting challenges, solved puzzles and traditionals.A great day out with the Canberra Crew signing as CC24. It was hot & exhausting with lots of bush walks over many hills. Wonderful scenery. A long convoy of cars carrying kayaks. Awesome. Many great puzzles that are well thought out. Many to still solve.
Cache found okay here today.Today the Canberra crew that had gathered in the area for the colo River caches, met up this morning for group caching. We started the day walking a trail of challenges, before moving on to ying yang puzzles. Our group consisted of kittykatch, joolay, contesta, MinnieK, Fitzy, search4, Aykayem, smittengranny, FurfacesLL, loci, Nibletricecakes, Gliss, TikvaNZ, sacada and myself. We signed as CC24 (Canberra Canoeists 2024) as our group name to represent all cachers.A nice walk through the bush for the challenge caches. The cicadas were loud, oh so loud at times! But a good series and a stunning view out over the colo River we had paddled from the morning before from the trad at the end. With our walk complete, we convoyed from cache to cache mostly doing the ying yang puzzles solved. A ferry crossing saw the last cacher cross, but the ferry sat on the other side chatting to the one car returning and after a long time waiting we turned and went of caching our own way unable to cross. Later, we crossed elsewhere only to meet up with the group returning!!! A warm day and the walks become too much for me with hills, a great day (Weekend) though and time to return home. A great area to visit and cache, thanks for your cache!
On our way to the Wiseman Ferry after Color River paddling event. Huge day but picking up some on the way. Signing as CC24 for Canberra CachersThanks for getting me out and about teamMerlin
Colo River TripHeading to Wiseman's Ferry area for a weekend of caching with Joolay. We headed out to find some caches after today's paddle with some mates. Thanks for hiding and maintaining this cache teamMerlin
The huge day on the Colo River is over and a small group of us have decided to continue to search for caches up in this area. We were on our way to another event, this time in Wisemans Ferry, so couldn't resist grabbing a few on the way. This was one of the ones we found and signed as Smittengranny, Contesta. Kittykatch and Joolay Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches
Today I had a big geocaching day out in the Hawkesbury District with It's_Dozzie. Although our main targets today were to find as many Yin-Yang caches as we could, and also some of the many Challenge caches in the area, we found a few others as well. TFTC teamMerlin
Hello teamMerlin thank you for the cacheA nice quick find.I found this cache during our Newcastle 2024 trip to see the grandchildren.Found on Saturday, 27 April 2024 at 1216**TFTC**
After finishing up with our aim of the Kayak series down the Colo, Rats, Steeba and I had a bit more time in the afternoon to cache before we needed to be home.We targetted some more caches in the area, some of which included chalenges that I do not yet qualify for.It was a stinking hot afternoon, and I was pretty fried by the time the afternoon thunderstorm hit.Cheers
Out for a weekend in and around the Colo River with The Rats and Hoojar to find plenty of caches- a fair bit of legwork needed beforehand though. Some enjoyable country.TFTC!

Came along today to add some more smileys to the map of the Hawkesbury area. You just have to love geocaching, especially on Valentines Day. It was a good run and goingplaces2 came along for the ride.
The only thing we could find here was the base of the outer container, as the area had been mowed and trimmed and was very clear. So there was no container and no log to sign. This one needs some attention by the CO please. TFTC.

Found today on a nice cache drive out this way with my brother, Dad, Mighty Minions and barefootjeff to get a few high-terrain caches and also some of the roadside yin-yang ones, had a nice time out here even though BFJ hurt his ankle at one of the first caches, we still had a really fun day around here!

We were caching in the Colo/Sackville area today with Mighty Minions and barefootjeff, with a couple of good walks and interesting terrain and a handful of more roadside finds, we had a great day with perfect caching weather.
We were heading home at this stage, so planned a route that would drop by a few more caches.
This one was not in any shape to sign, and needs to be replaced, please accept out photo-log.... TFTC!

Under beautiful skies I made the most of my day off work to bag a plethora of caches in the Windsor / Colo area. It was one of those days where I drove past more caches than I found, but I went with specific mindset of finding caches that helped improve my D/T rating.
Thanks to all the CO's for your hides, I had a great day either in the bush or by the river.

Found, but cache is full of ants! Enjoyed the spot and the company of the cows

Today was a road trip around the Hawkesbury area. An ambitious list of caches to find as I set myself a target of reaching 10,000 finds by year end. Covid-19 lockdown put a spanner in the works and I now have only two months to find the remaining 200+ caches. So rather than interesting caches, I had to schedule a day in the car and go for quantity, rather than quality.
The logsheet has seen better days and is in urgent need of replacement.
This is 51 of 61 finds today. TFTC!

This 1 was completed on the spur of the moment – it was nice to complete – last 1 for the day – ants had made them selves a home but log sheet was A OK TFTC / TFTH / SL
TFTC, found it in at about 4 meters from GZ & still in good shape. Replaced it back in GZ & as according to the hint.
Found! Log needs replacing. I had to squeeze my name in on the earlier logs l. Tftc
The cows were funny because one kept charging at the other cows. Found the cache as well, nice and peaceful here. TFTC
Nice backroad I came back to visit since coming here in the 80’s .
Many thanks for the hide.

Nice quick find, the history in this area is quite amazing and looks to be a beautiful old house. TFTC
A simple snatch and grab! Don’t know if I would call it micro but fun all the same thanks
With still a little time before the CITO event I drove on further along West Portland Road to grab one more cache. It was a bit further than I thought and I was distracted by an interesting letterbox along the way.
Once at GZ the cache was quickly spotted and the log signed.
I think I collected the correct information for the final but I'm a bit vertically challenged and it was hard to see.

Another day OCW marj01. After a very early start from the eastern subs we arrived at Ebenezer at first light to commence the day. During the course of the day we visited 69 trads, 4 multis, 2 puzzle and 2 letterbox caches. With only a handfull of dnfs it was a successfull day, with the majority of the caches being found in a reasonably short time. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and maintaining their caches and providing us with a fun day. Cheers oldmorty.
Out caching with @itsonlybarney.
Suffering from a bit of geocaching withdrawal after our geocaching holiday. We decided to take the opportunity of the good weather to grab as many caches as we could. We managed to get 25 finds for the day. TFTC.

After a week way from the searching for caches after our holiday, we needed to get out and about on a glorious day. With a total of 25 finds for the day, it felt good to make some finds after a week of no finds.
All caches were in excellent condition except as otherwise noted in my comments below.
------
Pulled up out the front, and with limited parking, turned the geomobile around knowing I had to return back along the road to continue the quest. As I sat there the police passed by sirens blazing, not sure where he was off to. A quick find was made before getting back on the road.

Found with Mighty Minions on a trip to the area. We targeted the EG-Q series as well as a certain trackable out here. We found pretty much all the caches we tried for. Though we started to skip some as the day went on, but got all the answers needed for the final. A great day and we will return when the final is solved...
After a detour to a dog and a letterbox, we returned here to finish off this series. Drove straight past number nine and stopped here. I like how all answers are six letters long, very well played. Cache found easily. Tried to make friends with the cows on the other side of the fence, but they were scared of us and ran away.
Thanks for the drive, cows and cache!

Day 3 of a school holiday trip to Wisemans Ferry in our brand new geomobile, spending a couple of nights at the Del Rio Riverside Resort, and collecting some caches along the way as we explore this historic area.
Today we were on our way back home, going via Lower Portland and taking the Sackville Ferry route back to Maroota and the Old Northern Road, then down through Galston Gorge. This was the 7th of 17 finds for the day, 22nd find of the trip.
Another nice quick roadside park & grab, after spotting a very familiar bit of caching camo. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. The local cows supervised us while we signed the log. TFTC SearchnLog.

#3410 Nice spot for a late lunch cycling from Wisemans. Luckily we rocked up to this vertical with a great view. Many thanks to teamMerlin for establishing and maintaining this cache.
Out today with the garbageman, his two beautiful daughters and my daughter. The aim of the day to find 25 different D/T combos in a day . This was number 16 of the day and we were glad of another quick find to continue the mission. Thanks for the cache teamMerlin tnln sl
In town today in search of 25 different D:T combos, in the excellent company of my geokids (3 and 5) and the Mighty Minions. A wonderful day - filled with great family moments, about 8km of walking (the last kilometre by torchlight in complete darkness), some very cheeky hides, and most importantly, NOT A SINGLE DNF! Thanks to all the COs in the region - the coords today were consistently very good, and the caches and logs were by and large in great condition.
This was the sixteenth cache of the day and another quick find, which was appreciated, due to some pressing concerns about daylight. We missed this once before - not because of competence, but because the farmer working with the cows in the paddock across the road clearly saw us as suspicious so we abandoned the quest. This time there was no sign of him, and we made quick work of the necessary duties. TNLN TFTC

Was out here last week and thought it was a nice area to bring the geoWife, so after lunch in Windsor, we started the EG-Q series. Lucky to make a quick find here as it wouldn't take too much to miss it. It helped that we had seen a similar one earlier on in the day. Wow the cows in the nearby field were making a hell of a racket. Either it was close to feeding time or they were really keen on the two boys on our side of the road.

Another find on the EG-Q series, later in the day. I had to turn around and backtrack with the car a bit to get to a better parking spot off the road.
There was a herd of cows in the field across the road, lowing very loudly. Although they were quite far into the field, the sound traveled far. Perhaps they were calling to the bull who was in the paddock close to where I had parked.
A quick look around GZ and I had the cache in hand. Log signed and everything packed away where I had found it. Then we were on our way again. Close to the next cache I was looking for I realised that I had neglected to get a bit of information for the final puzzle. Grrr, I could kick myself for being in such a hurry to move on. Now I will have to go past there again at some stage to find what I'll need for the final.

Mooooo - love the huge cows near GZ. This one was quick to find although the roadway was a little busy! Managed to sign and replace cache as found - TFTC =)
Ah, the penny drops....... my gps had the old co-ords loaded, I haven't updated it in some time.
Out on a New Years caching day with Snoopy1976 and Spy79. Quick and Easy Find. TFTC
Out caching for the day, after having spent the night camping at Cattai National Park, we decided to take on the Ebenezer Geo-Quest.
At first the GPSr could not make up its mind what side of the road to look at, but shortly Helga found the cache. Signed the log, checked the fence and headed off to the next cache.

Parked down the road & thankfully I was able to find this one fairly quickly as there are workmen down near the bridge.

Today's in such beautiful weather I took a tour from Wilberforce to Ebenezer and took the ferry across the Hawkesbury back to Tizzana Road. I was able to look at old buildings along the tracks, taking a nice busch walk to enjoy the beautiful view of the river.
This tour was very nice and I have enjoyed myself very much
Thank you

### Happy International Geocaching Day!###
The Geowife is still up on the Central Coast, but due home this afternoon. My plan had been to attend a Deadly Duck Event, the one matching the start event I attended a few weeks ago.
After the event had plans for one specific old multi, but then there are other caches nearby...
In the end I got five but had one long and confusing DNF on a second old multi.
Grabbed brownies at Tractor 828 on the way home - one for me, one for the Geowife.
And I beat her home by 20 minutes!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Cache blindness struck here for a bit.
Initially went to the correct spot and missed it. Then, as the iPhone was indicating the middle of the road, tried the other side. Finally went for the hint.
Right, first spot.
And then I still missed it. Finally spotted the obvious on what was effectively my third go round. Phew.
Then I just remembered to grab the info for the series final.
Completed signing duties while being watched by the cows, and then onto another multi.

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
I headed back up to Ebenzer to try and finish TeamMerlins wonderful series and grab a few others while I could. I went via Wisemans Ferry again to grab a few around there I missed last time.
Last time I came up here this cache was missing and the CO replaced it shortly after. Easy find this time!

Came past after 2016 Hawkesbury Meet and Greet as last time we where hear the cache was not here due to the fence being replaced. Quick park and grab with RangerD. We spent some time looking at the cattle on the property as they came to the fence and watched us,and the some wallabies jumped passed too. Signed log. TFTC.

I had to look for a cache that was on my GPS as the network was down and I couldn't get any updated info or newish caches. I ended up here but my GPSr had me near the intersection of the fences. Several cars drove by and I had to pretend to be on my phone which any local would know was sus as there is no signal here lol. I gave up and got back into the car but my car GPS had GZ further down the road so I decided to check the only likely place and bingo I had CIH. SL #2597 on streak day #1462 TFTC
