We have been unable to relocate this for a range of reasons, so we have regretfully decided to archive this cache. We hope to be able to replace it early in the new year in a location that is less susceptible to muggle activity.
Doesn't really need archiving, but needs to be disabled until the CO confirms it is back in place....
Lucas's Loot was washed up on Little Beach, 10kms from its home, and we strongly suspect muggle interference. It will be replaced on the island in due course, but in a different location with updated coordinates.
THIS GEOCACHE CANNOT CURRENTLY NOT BE FOUND IN THIS LOCATION!
We have found it washed up on Little Beach (almost 10kms away) after the recent storms in Port Stephens.
What should we do? I guess it may be a big Kayak paddle for my wife and I soon.

Came by boat from Fenninghams island caravan park and loved the 5.7km trip to here. Once on the island it wasn't long before the cache was spotted in it hidy hole. Did the legals and replaced as found. Interesting seeing a Bedford truck here near GZ. I wonder how it got here? TFTCM

after lounging around all morning then lunch at Wonganella till mid afternoon i'd left myself only a couple of hours for a paddle before a family BBQ. I dropped in at Taylors beach, thinking dead low tide and a tail wind will make for a ugly return from soldiers point. I was right about that.
I managed to also get the entry wrong onto the island which meant a long slog over the mangrove mud flats, glad I had found my reef shoes since my last paddle (I broke my thongs that day instead).
didn't see the person living in the truck but there was fresh(?) washing drying on the line.
tftc Ibstable . I made at least 2 others late for the BBQ but that's what families are for hey...

Weather: Hot summer morning
I was spending a few days camping with the kids at Soldier's Point (great campsite!), and we decided to start one of the days with some kayaking. We hired 2 from the marina, and GeoBoy11 took GeoBoy4 while I took GeoGirl8. We headed straight to the island and were soon on land. I hadn't brought the phone across, to prevent it getting wet, but instead had memorised the details, plus taken a picture of the satellite image on the waterproof camera; in the end the hiding point was fairly obvious. We pondered over the camp, with its clothes hanging up but with no inhabitants, before heading back to our transport and more exploring the bay. Thanks, fun cache!

Great afternoon kayak to get this one.
Good foot wear is a must a lots of oyster shells on the island.

Not sure the terrain is truly indicative of the ease of access but I did use a boat so I guess it is fair! Way easier than an extreme tree climb a quick find. Log quite damp. It seems someone is living in the truck too. Kids loved the nearby beach. TNLN TFTC
Congratulations your cache has been nominated in the COTY Awards. Below you will find your nomination tag that you can place onto your Cache page or Print out and place in the cache.

Made it to the island on the good ship Barry and soon found the right spot in the camp. Should have brought my shoes with all the oyster shells around. Great cache!
Reperio at 1230.
On such a beautiful day, I couldn't resist heading to Nelson's Bay to do a spot of kayaking. The water was pristine to paddle on, and I was soon on dry land where I was surprised to find a nicely laid out camp. Hoping no one was home, I walked around it to GZ, and soon found the cache. As I was signing the log, I heard a couple of voices which didn't sound too far away at all...in fact...they were just behind me. As it turned out, not only were the other human beings on the island with me...they were cachers!!! What timing. After a very brief chat, it was off to paddle around the area a little more before heading back to the rest of the family who were enjoying the sun and sand. Really enjoyed the paddle out here.
Gratias lbstable.

We meet up with djant and grub fed for this one to go out by boat. This one was not as hard as I was expecting TFTC
Out with grub Fred found it used my boat a little windy today but lots of fun nice and dry tftc
Find No: 4623. Needing a D5 or T5 for the Geocaching Roadtrip I contacted djant re using his boat, he kindly accepted and we set off from Waratah to attack this one. As we rounded the bend to the boatramp we dubiously looked at each other wondering why we picked this day with a howling gale! Got on with it and made it to the shelter of the island and a quick find, then went back to the ramp to meet up with The Marble Gang and had a second trip with the wind lessening, thanks for the cache lbstable!!
This was the highlight of our weekend trip to the area.
The gf swore she saw someone in the shelter but I think she was just being paranoid being on an island by ourselves, I was cautious anyway but quickly had the cache.
Chilled with some pelicans then paddled around in our kayak, great place, great cache.

Quick find with tassie expat while up from Phillip Island. The kayak trip was half the fun and I got some fishing in at the same time. Thanks for placing this cache. Easy and safe trip for families.
As soon as frmen1 suggested a trip to Port Stephens the geo app was opened. After looking over the caches available, this was a must do. A great kayak over and an easy find. Even though I'd read the description, I was surprised by the size of the abandoned vehicles. TFTC, enhancing our holiday and the road trip D5/T5 souvenir.
We picked a perfect day to do this cache. We hired a two-man kayak from the local marina. We chose not to bring the GPS-r with us just in case we ended up in the drink. We hoped for the best the hint was good enough. Off we went. In four minutes we arrived at the island and found the cache straight away under a frying pan. How did they get the car there? That would have been an effort! We had a quick look around the island and back to the marina we went. Luckily we didn't end up in the drink. Boy that water was cold.
Thank you for bringing us here.

Some sort of shelter has recently appeared on the island near the cache, many weeks after we hid it. We've never seen anyone in the shelter, and suspect it is used by local youths for nefarious activities at night. We will keep a close watch, and if there are any concerns we will move it away from its current location and change the coordinates. However, we think it's a cool place and shows what is hidden behind the trees on the shoreline which most people don't realise is there, so don't want to move it unnecessarily.
It was great to finally see the sun shining and this looked like the idyllic location for a quiet paddle, the water looked like glass. We no sooner got rowing and we were at the island and being squarked at by a mob of disgruntled pelicans who took to the water. Rather them than us, that water was cold. We were a bit surprised to find a makeshift home on the island so close to where we were going. We didn't see or hear anyone but just in case, sneaked in like thieves in the night, found and signed the cache and slunk out. A really enjoyable cache experience, thanks lbstable.
1230, GAFF1, 2TF I had brought my plastic kayak along with the faint hope that the sea might have been quite enough that I could have paddled off-shore to find a lighthouse and a trig; but even in the Port there was enough of a swell to be very careful. I had a slightly longer paddle of 400 m each way, but the wind helped me on the way over. With just the coordinates loaded into the GPSr I was surprised to find 'civilisation' on landing. Nobody around. Good coordinates meant a quick find. Log dry and o-ring intact.
Left: a Correct Site Marker, surgical marking pen. Okay, it didn't fit IN the container, but I hid it under it for the next finder. Took: a small tattoo.

**FTF** with chippyroo
Today we set out to find this cache and hopefully be the first, once we arrived nearby we made our way down the wharf to find where we hire kayaks from. After having the kayak sorted we headed off, after a 200m paddle, if that. We hit land ho! Chippyroo managed to clock me in the back of the head on the way over.
After where we're out of the water we made our way over to find something I was least expecting, how the hell did that get here! We used some of the rotten seats to lay over the oysters as we were bare foot so we didn't cut ourselves.
Awesome spot for a cache, thanks for bringing us here.

I saw this one pop up and rang another team to see if they wanted to attack this one today. Team Senz agreed and we made our way out here. We hired a double kayak from the Boat shed and started the short paddle from the wharf, we got into a good rhythm until Aaron decided to change our direction a little bit and I accidentally hit him on the head with the paddle. My oops. With no harm done we continued on our way and made it to dry land. We made the short stroll from the beach towards GZ and were amazed to see an old bedford truck. We wondered how it got there and continued on our search. We made the find and were happy to see a blank log book. The signing duties were done and we made our way back to the marina.
An enjoyable experience, with smiles all round not just on the cache page. HAHA
A fav point from us
