# 9535 Back in WA for a bit from Canberra. It always feels like summer when I'm here. We'll be travelling between Perth, Albany/Denmark and Margaret River over two weeks. While it's not a geo-trip, I should still be able to grab a few.I've never been a puzzle like this before. Very cool. Thanks roymerc for the Mystery Cache
This puzzle turned out to be much easier than I imagined it would be when I saw the diagram in the description. I had it open in a flash. TFTC and the puzzle roymerc, most enjoyable
Found on our trip from Hervey Bay QLD to WA Goes Big 2024. Super cool idea and build
I came over to WA last year for WAGB 23 and had such a great time so I decided to come back over again for this years events in Augusta. So after all of the planning with dates worked out my work decided that I could only have one week off so flying over was my only option. So I flew into to Perth and my first stop will be Busselton for 2 nights. It has been 47 years since I was in this part of WA and Im really looking forward to the re visit.Im making my way down the coast and picking out caches that look interesting to me.After spending a bit of time in Bunbury it was back to the Geo Rent a Car to continue along the coast and I then made it to Busselton.Day 4 of the trip. After caching around Busselton, Dunsbourgh and Cape Naturaliste I reached Albany for 3 nights.Caught up with Roaming Howie last night and a plan was hatched to head to Denmark today (the one in WA not the country) to tackle most of roymerc caches.Well made and great caches were soon located and ye we did remember the batteries.Continuing along the rail trail and this one was soon located but that was the easy part.So we tried this then we tried that and we tried this again and wallah the log appeared.Another fav goes to you. Thanks roymerc TFTC
Day #5. My last minute WAGB adventure continues today! Road tripping again. Ive now met up with Posums in Albany and we are off today on the much anticipated roymerc trail. Fun times ahead.Found it! Although we spoke too soon. We tried some twisting and maneuvering. Then we tried something new. Wow that was clever. Lucky Ive stored some favourites for this trip,A big thanks goes to roymerc for taking the time to add A Plumber's Delight to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? (Think Mega but even more special!)Join us on 22-23 March 2025 in Sunbury to celebrate 25 years of geocaching by logging your will attend at [**GCAP417**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).
Find number 13823 at 1:56:58PM on Sunday the 8 September 2024We're on our way to WA Goes Big, travelling from Croydon (Melbourne, Victoria) with a caravan in tow and making a leisurely caching holiday across the Nullarbor and back.Today we're wandering around and about grabbing a cache here and a cache there, lunching at the bakery and lots of walking.Yep, I can see what this is doing but not sure what it's for, quick find.**Thanks for placing this cache roymerc**---*WOW, so much happening here in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
Very nice use of PVC. This took a few seconds to work out, but I finally got to sign it. Thanks for the cache.
Found at 11:17 AM GAFF2.Nearly 9 years ago we searched for this cache with no luck and decided that it was most likely muggled. Well it turned out that the cache was still there, but the previous finder had buried the cache - now why would anyone do that!Any way today I went straight to the hiding spot and then a bit of nutting out took place as I couldn't reconcile the 3 pieces/4 pieces part of the instructions. I also found that part of it was detached, so I managed to insert the fishing line back in the hole. Hope that is how it is supposed to go!Thanks to roymerc
Thats a cool puzzle! Very easy to find with the hint. Took us few minutes to figure out how to open it, super clever! No bet you thought of geocache with that device, loved it! TFTC
I know nothing about plumbing but MrG, being a jack of all trades, has done a bit. We needed a break after our poor performance at the last cache and this was the cache to do it. I can't open a sistema as fast as this cache was opened. MrG explained the workings..err yeah riiight.... You've either got a plumbers brain or you don't. TFTC roymerc.
It seemed we had a plumbing problem, and so it was time to call the plumber. As it happened, the plumber had never seen pipes such as these, so we were still in the dark with our plumbing problems. We sat on the very comfortable seats nearby and looked out across the water for some inspiration. Eventually, the light shone, inspiration was forthcoming and the pipes are now once again back in good order. Thanks roymerc. Another wonderful invention. Domsky
Very clever, pazza figured this one out....again, well beyond sazzas lesser-known plumbing skills! Well done roymerc for another fantastic geocache for us and others to find and enjoy! Fave point added!
Love that we are walking on flattish ground, no steps and on a shaded pathway.this one took a little to get open but we made it in the endSo many caches, so little time, which do we chooseCanetoads and cockroach on holidays in the West TMac61 and Bliss BabyTFTC
I was looking in the wrong spot when RFC found it somewhere I'd already 'looked'. Then it took both of our different ideas to open the cache to the log book. This was cool, like the concept here even though it confounded me for a bit. The view was amazing again, water so clear, breeze so lovely after the past really hot afternoons. tftc
Ciao e grazie. #10893Last day in Denmark, tomorrow we leave towards the west, the holidays are coming to an end. This morning BA has an appointment with a chiropractor for an annoying neck pain, DU takes the opportunity to make some smiley faces around the city.I arrive at the car park, backpack on my shoulders and set off along the path.I arrive at the GZ and quickly find the artifact. The opening took a few moments and then I signed the logbook.Hello and thanks. #10893
What a fun cache. It took the simple mind of geowife to get the goods, the more technical expert over complicated the job . Loving the walk as well and finding these hidden stops. Another fav. Tftc
Found it TFTC Found in good condition. Geo hubby liked this one very much, but the middle blue section had been replaced upside down so made it hard to open. Please make sure that piece it put back together correctly
We met a fellow geocacher when we were staying at Narrogin who mentioned these caches. I rembered the name Denmark and as we happened to be going through here I mentioned that there were a few caches I would like to find. So we arrived at camp and got out the bikes to do a a bit of a ride and collect a few of these caches.Found the cache with ease now to open it. We had the same plumbing pipes and attachments on our boat and they are supposed to be quick but opening g was always a bot of a problem. Sometimes it took a while and you begin to doubt that is how it is done. So we managed to get into this relatively easily. Thanks for putting this cache together
Mrs Riddell found it ok.Had the right idea in the first place but didnt try it hard enough, which led to failing with all sorts of manipulations. So then she stopped, read some logs, thought about it, try it again and as our friend Ronice88 says Bingo Bang Bingo: open Sesseme.TFTC
We found the container in 3 pieces. Mr C recognised the tool straight away and managed to open it quickly. A very nicely constructed cache puzzle. We signed and replaced as found and then enjoyed the view for a bit. Thanks roymerc
Last time AnyMules was here he had to do a DNF so he was determined this time to turn that frown upside down. A bit of this and a bit of that and he soon had the log book ready to signTFTC roymerc. Found on 1 Oct 2023 at 11:12. Find # 2796
Im back. 2.5 years after my previous DNF when I assumed the stump I was looking at (which had been totally obliterated) was where the cache was located. Today I knew not to look there, and to try somewhere else. A quick find was then had. Woo hoo. No more blue frowny on my map. I found your D2.0/T1.5 Small Mystery called A Plumber's Delight on 1 October 2023. It was find #18596 for me. Thank you roymerc for placing this cache for our enjoyment in the wonderful state of Western Australia.
Continuing along the trail and we came here next. We were making hard work of finding the puzzle, but Mrs Parko then read the hint and got us where we needed to be. Mr Parko had the log in no time. Thanks roymerc
A nice find here, cache is all good
In WA for 3 days, so I decided to hire a car and head south from Perth and drive around the wheat belt and back up the coast line. Day 2, after staying in Albany for the evening I headed off towards Busselton, first stop was Denmark to try and find all of the BYOB and a few other before making my way along the back roads finding a few caches along the way before caching around Busselton in the evening.
Thanks for the cache

REAL Plumbing despite its necessity is definitely not my forte so this had me reticent. But what do you know, bingao bango and lucky logic helped. Out and about on trusty treadles AKA the MTB that goes where I go. Home is some 3500 kms EAST and word had travelled I should look out for roymerc caches. Well - look out I did so I'm on a mission to discover why word has travelled the continent. Each of these have been clever quirky fun creative and sometimes hilarious BYOB gadgets - created to no doubt put a smile on the dial. Certainly built for longevity all hiders should take note - I have! TFTC and the memorable FUN!!
The plumber in me was delighted.
Heading east after one mintue of moon shadow. This is one of stops on a long journey.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

TFTC. Another great invention. Love your work and for getting us out and about enjoying the great outdoors
After a few years away from WA I decided to return and visit family living in the south west.
It had always been a goal of mine to visit Roy Merc territory and today I feel blessed that I have had the opportunity to be here amongst some of the great caches offered.
I will spend NYE and NYD roaming the area collecting RoyMerc caches. It is why I decided to head down this way.
It’s a funny thing about Roy Merc caches. You know that although the structure looks oh so simple to open, in 9/10 cases it is not.
I had an idea on how this may work and needed to fiddle with it a bit to open it. Thankfully I get it in hand.
Many thanks again.

Found this one in an attempt to reach 600 finds before 2023. Love the concept. ATM I don’t have any FPs to give, but I will give this one as soon as I can. #597 for me
Thank you Roy Merc. Great day for a cache and exceptional caches for the day. TFTC another favourite from me
Mrs TiedyeSmileys got it open with part of the cache becoming a missile straight at Mr TiedyeSmileys

Everyone keeps saying to go to Demark, so I am. TFTC.
A great puzzle. It actually took me longer to find it than to solve it.

Very well made, figured the mechanism out quickly as it was quite intuitive. TFTC!
As previously stated GPS is a little off but I soon found GZ. Had fun getting into this one. Had my battery ready to go before I realised it isn’t a BYOB…Doh! soon had log in hand. All returned as found. Awesome work Roymerc
The GPS was a bit off but the hint took me straight to the container. No clues on opening the thing though. I was left kicking myself for struggling far longer than I should have done on this one. Makes so much sense when you can finally see how it was made. TFTC!
Love the key lock on this one too, wondering what this looked like previously, TFTC
Mrs Y'stassie had located this cache on her way out but had failed to locate the means of opening the container and accessing the log. she headed to the last cache after her handy man agreed to meet her back here after she had located and signed BYOB#12
On returning from her find she sat down to wait for her fellow team member. When he arrived he had a short play and then a lightbulb moment and pop the log roll appeared. We sat there and admired the construction of this container. Simple but so effective.
Thanks for this beautifully crafted cache container Roymerc. Opening this container gave us a real sense of achievement. We certainly had fun today.
Another favourite point added to this cache.

my brothers a plumber but I doubt he has seen one of these! We had to resort to the hints the cords wouldn't settle for me. Geo daughter made the find and geo dad opened the cahce.
Somewhere between day 170 and day 180 since we left home and stated our ‘lap year’. Half way in our original time estimation we are not even close to half way around the country, Tassy and SA are done (still plenty to go back and see) …hmm I guess we won’t be ‘home’ for Christmas….oh well… (shhh don’t tell the grandparents)… or maybe we could freight the children home for Christmas? ! Geogranni would like that!
Perhaps if I/we stopped looking at so many amazingly stunning rocks, trees and beaches we wouldn’t be taking so long…then there are the flowers, old things and street art that keeps catching our attention.. maybe it’s the Geocaches… what ever it is, we are having a bloody brilliant time and I wouldn’t change a thing!
Thanks for being one of the awesome caches we found around Denmark this week, a big shout out to the Geocachers of Denmark, some outstanding caches that has us considering some more power trails (generally avoid them) just to get enough Fav points together to award for all these fabulous caches!

Chwiliwr and I woke up early to start heading to Denmark for todays WAGB 2021 activities.
This was cache number 23 for today.
Cache found without problems. Log was signed and cache returned as we found it.

We travelled from Portland Victoria across to WA to see our daughter in Perth. Now we are slowly heading home via Yallingup, the Fitzgerald NP and Denmark.
We have now Yallingup and are heading towards Denmark for a few days. With the van unpacked and the washing on the line we jumped on the bikes and toured the town.
Again Mr Morris spent a bit of time admiring your handiwork.
Thanks for showing us this part of the world roymerc

nice one roymerc! took a sec to figure it out... we were playing with the wrong "3 pieces" - our scale was a bit off! found with papabogs and 2 kelpies
Found with geoson, geo daughter and geo sister. 12 year old son says this is the coolest mechanism ever!
KB and I had fun part walking and part riding along this pretty trail. Thanks for the cache.
Stumpy Stump is still there! The slashing got close but not close enough. The right stump is in the small alcove with the picnic table.
The area where my GPS was telling me to be looks like it has recently been obliterated by a mulching machine.
There is what appears could have been a stump which has now been levelled to the ground.
This one may need a check by the CO.

Onward down the trail we walked, not long before we arrived at GZ. Our GPS was all over the place, probably due to the big black cloud which had been following us. Spreading our search a little wider Ian found the cache. Luckily, he had seen one of these while doing some work on our caravans’ plumbing - the log was soon in hand.
Another favorite from us.
Thanks
