The planned day of caching with Skylizard was looking doubtful due to the weather but we decided to brave it. This great trail was the plan. We got most before the rain set in. We parked in a central location to the first five and set off. This was our third find for the day, a quick find. The log was full but we managed to sign. TFTC
Out and about with TanSaf today caching along the Hallam Valley Trail. We parked nearby and the weather looked foreboding but we managed to collect a few caches before the rain set in. This one was a nice quick find in a logical spot. Thanks crank1 for placing the cache.
#6534.I had some time to attempt this series on a cool and windy morning. I came prepared with the right clothing. The best thing about this weather is it keeps people from venturing outdoors. I had a good day with very few muggles and no DNF's. Thanks for this great series.
Midwinter Melbourne TourDay Three: Dandenong SouthWeather: Still wintery! For entirely non-geocaching reasons, Ive had to head out to Dandenong South today. This is one of four caches in the Hallam Valley Trail logged whilst I was out there. Its all a bit soggy, but I managed to log these four without getting wet feet. A big thank you to crank1 for these caches; hopefully Ill get a chance to complete the trail in the future.
Today Cooper from fisherfamfive and I were out on a quest for some caches in the Hampton Park area. We were a bit unsure where this one could be, searching numerous potential spots around the area. After letting the GPS settle and looking at the map more closely, we honed in on the only logical spot and promptly found the sneaky container, TFTC crank1
Out with my good mate CammJT for a couple caches just before the school holidays ends. GZ presented us with what looked to be a long hard search, however after looking back down at the GPS we realised we were a few metres off. After going to the correct GZ, it was a short search before the cache was in hand. This one will need a new log however, very minimal to no space left on the paper. Tftc crank1
Find 4887 on March 11, 2024Well you know what they say about patterns.... It takes more than 2 to make one. Serves me right lol. All is well with the cache but needs a new log soon. TFTC crank1
Found with Bogonghazy. Day out caching in the area. Thanks crank1 for placing the cache
Found with LittleBoss2 on our week in Rye. Yesterday's caches were so good, we thought we'd head back up the highway for another long walk. All these caches were in good order with great coords. What an amazing series of caches in a beautiful area. Our sincere thanks to Crank 1 for all the time and effort in placing and maintaining them
Couldnt see it so thought Id put my hand there and boom found it defs a good reach
Found it with rex46
& with Mitzi 123456
It’s not on head high. It’s on the ground

All found in good condition
All logs signed and returned as found

After finishing the KM Reedy parkrun this morning I had a look on the map for any caches nearby. 0f course, I found these - so I did just the first five around the sports fields, in an anti-clockwise direction.
Fortunately the cooler morning meant fewer muggles, although I had to wait for the odd straggling parkrunner/parkwalker.
After struggling a little with #05 and #04 this was relatively simpler. I did go off into the trees first after reading the hint, but in the end it was in the likely place (and where the coords were pointing to... ).
Thanks, crank1.

After finding a few of the other Hallam Valley trail caches a while ago, we weren't able to reach these first three due to flooding
Luckily we were passing here and managed to pick these up without any difficulties this time. Thanks for the caches!!
Had to fight with some spiderwebs and gross dead bugs with a stick but managed to grab it quickly. Thanks for bringing us here crank1!!

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to crank1 for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Found it , The few young bmx bandits didn't stop me from this familiar hide. A very sneaky well placed cache. Tftc

I'm on my way to the SideTracked 15th Anniversary event way out in Bunyip. A later than hoped start on public transport, but that doesn't mean I can't make time to find a few more in the series on the way.
The second of those was just outside this brand spanking new Hallam Station, so once I'd found that I still had time before the next train... so off I wandered up a hill, where a lovely view and... ah, yes... a nice shiny cache awaited.
Now, I was expecting to catch a lift with my usual partner in crime, so had to decide whether to continue towards the end of the suburban line, or...
... hmmmm...
That series over there looks like it'd be a nice walk...
And so off I pounded along, well, Pound Rd, to the start of this trail.
The coordinates were just nebulous enough for it to be difficult to decide which objects to target, living or not... should have looked better in the first place I tried, because there it was when I checked again. D'oh.
Thanks, crank1

With 4 hours to spare I took the opportunity to grab a few caches in the area along the Hallam Valley trail.
It was a prefect night to cache with not a breath of wind to spoil the evening.
Not sure about my head height as I was on tip toes to gather the cache.
Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the traditional cache Crank1

Out and about with my favourite people go team tackt thanks for placing this series
Out today to finish of this series. This 1 did take a little longer as we had to pick and choose our timing with a family riding motorbikes around.
Came by on my way home from work to finish off this end of the Hallam Trail. Had to come back to this one as a man was sitting on the nearby seat with his bike and dog. Took an additional walk around the ovals and when I noticed him moving on I made my move. That’s no head height, quite a stretch for me. TFTC
In Melbs again and within cooeee of this series which ticks a few boxes such as getting out on the MTB and exploring the area. Teaching brought me here early on - like some decades ago to Hallam HS so the population here has increased exponentially. My other mission is to bring my “CENTROID” which is way north of the border further south and east so chipping away at these might just have some impact. All the co-ords and Melbs colourful treasures helped - hangers not usually my forte! Also no muggles to speak of. THANKS for maintaining the caches and the FUN!
Kicked off my caching account this year with the completion of the Hallam Valley Trail, working off some of the kgs put on over the xmas break. tftc
Spending the day caching with AlexiKatty trying to stay on target for my milestone for the Wangaratta mega in January. It's a nice day and beautiful to be out hear again. Very happy to add this smile to my map.

The cache was on the ground, so replace new log papers and replace hide. All in good condition.
Doing the Hallam Valley Trail caches today. A bit of water on the track but OK on my bike. I could not find #3, #5 or #7. Thanks Crank1 for your great work.
Out on a nice sunny day today, decided to give this trail a go on my bike. After not having any luck at the last one I was glad to find this one. Thanks for the caches crank1.
Found in the most obvious spot, even though the gps had me looking elsewhere. Thanks for the fun!
We arrive early today and started finding the caches whilst we walked. We couldn’t find this particular one but thought we could come back to it. It was unsuccessful once again
After DNFing a while back nice to come and find this easy cache, can’t believe I couldn’t find it before ahaha did I grow maybe?

Out with Omegaman1971 to do a few caches in the Hallam, Cranbourne areas, we visited several parks while caching today.
Some interesting stats from 32 cache finds- 28 micros, 1 small and 3 regulars, most being bisons. What ever happened to nice size caches with swag, kind of sad to see the game go this way after fifteen years playing it.
This was one of the caches we found today.
Thanks crank1 for the cache.

TFTC crank1 . Took a bit longer than it should, being on the not tall side...gps was spot on. Jimmytherat
Out with xambo4u, we aimed to do the Hallam Trail with a few caches on the way there. A beautiful sunny day made for a lovely walk and talk. Very wet path and surrounds. We looked in a few places before finding the well hidden cache. Thanks crank1.
Out and about with echidna44 clearing out some in the south. Great to take a easy walk in the sun and great company and wet feet. This one took a little longer as it was a little different. Glad some people are that tall. Thanks for the cache crank1
Disabled due to the current situation, take great care in these uncertain times. Stay safe!
Hmmm could not get the GPS to settle and reading previous logs, I think I may have been vertically challenged. Will have to come back another time with a tall mate.
We were looking for a place to enjoy a walk and a few caches today so decided to explore this area. It was great to get out in the sunshine and fresh air. We had to make a detour around some big puddles across the path here. Such a big expanse of green fields and so few people. We were glad the skate bowl was empty because we circled around gz a bit before finding the cache.
Thanks for the clever hide crank1.
