Many of this Co's caches are still around, and a recent refind of Bilbo's Retreat made me have another look at what was left, so today I came for a look Alas I could not find the cache. If the hint means what I think it means, then the cache is not there. otherwise it is buried under very long grass, and gorse. The last finder's photo was a big help, except that it was no help at all.Oh well. This is an archived cache, after all.
jojo&dobby is no longer caching so this cache is not being monitored or maintained. I'm in the process of letting the reviewer know to archive them as jojo&dobby's premium membership has lapsed so can no longer access them. Apologies for any inconvenience and happy caching .

First catch so not sure what I was supposed to find. Few random things but no log. Fun looking for it. Disclaimer: photo may give up the location.
Very clever concealment, however needs maintenance. Log book full and wire ring rusted away. TFTC.
Log book full and the metal ring that its supposed to hang on has rusted away.
This was the end of the track for me today as I made my way through the beautiful beech forest from Ecclesfield reserve (or the halfway point, as I still had to make my way back to where I started). A bit of gorse and cutty grass on this last section of my walk to get to GZ, which wasn't my favourite bit to walk through, but I escaped without injury. No problems locating the nicely hidden cache, despite not having come across one like this before. Almost got muggled by a walker just as I'd finished replacing the cache, luckily she was in her own world and didn't see what I was doing. I managed to squeeze my name in to the last spot available on the logsheet. TFTC
I'm not entirely sure why I've never come to find this cache until now. It's pretty easy to get to, it has lots of favourite points and it's by a CO who has a history of great caches. In fact even when I arrived at GZ I was still just looking for what I thought was an random unfound cache without having checked who the CO was at that time. I had a bit of a look around when I arrived hoping cache sense would tell me something and when it didn't I thought I'd check the hint. Another glance around then I knew what I'd be looking for. Shortly after the cache revealed itself. This is not the first cache like this I've found which is why I made relatively short work of it but I always enjoy finding this type of hide provided no stealth is required - which is the case here. +FP and TFTC.
The end for me! An enjoyable afternoon exploring this reserve, An easy find. Log is quite wet and nearly impossible to write on. Might pay to replace it. Thanks for placing this cache
Had quite the adventure going from the long end to get here. Always nice to also have one hidden in plane sight
A clever hide, well executed and with great views. This gets a FP from me. A nice walk in a new area to explore. Cheers
# 1642 I am pretty familiar with this area as have run these loops many times from work. When I first placed my cache there were very few others around but the area has now exploded in popularity. This day i parked nearby and made the quick walk to GZ. A nicely concealed cache and all good inside. Thanks jojo&dobby for this one.
Collected this one while waiting with a car for D to walk the trail of CO’s high-FP caches. Nice hide Thanks jojo&dobby!
#6890. I needed some more cache finds today. The weather forecast for Sunday has not been great but on the day it seemed like a morning trip to Upper Hutt should be OK. After visiting the Cruickshank series I came down to Trentham to find a couple more caches before heading home. Hadn't realised until I looked on the map that this is the north end of the Witako track that I visited several years ago. But seeing the cache hide I soon discovered it was from the same CO who has delivered some quality caches in this area. Love these urban camos. This one was well executed. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks jojo&dobby for going the extra distance to deliver a fun geocaching experience.
Last find on this loop today and I think my favourite. Love the simplicity. Thanks for another great hide
Neither beginning or end, just a quick visit to grab this nice hide. All safe and dry here. TFTC
A quick trip up to Silverstream in the encroaching dark to grab this one. Luckily I had already scouted out where it was when I passed by the other day on the way to Tanks for the view, and it was still in place so no issues here. There's been many a time when I've had one of these on my belt and had it caught on some door or drawer handle. All good here. TFTC
Great to begin and end with a fabulous view. Thinking carefully we had the cache after just one false start. Nice hide, tftc
Second crack at this one. I approached this one with a new set of eyes this time and after a brief search cache was soon in hand. Great hide, all in good order. TFTC
in fact it was both for me this afternoon although the beginning did come first. Started here for a walk up through the reserve to collect a number of excellent caches.
Nice quick find in a clever hide, like it, well done! The pencil had fallen out so placed back in.
As the car was parked just down the road, after getting to "I am a Rock", it was turn around time to retrace the steps back past all the caches found.
Thank you for placing a hide here, which also had good views of the valley.

With a group of fellow west Aucklanders Merlot58, Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish To attend the MEGA and for a fun long Labour weekend’s caching. Thanks to all the cache owners for setting up and maintaining the caches. Sorry for cut and paste logs. We knew why to look for here and soon had the cache in hand.
I’m in the Windy City to attend the Wellington Mega with a few fellow Westies from Auckland. We’re having a great time as we explore the area collecting smileys as we go. Thanks for bringing us here, sorry for the copy and paste logs but am using a Cachly template to log as I go. Quick find when we were in the right spot
Day 4 of my visit to Wellington to attend the Mega weekend. Thank you to all of the CO's who put the caches out in the area and preforming maintenance on them before we descended on the area. I look forwards to coming back to the area again in the near future.
Today was picking up challenges and getting caches which I need for my JASMER challenge on the way back to the airport.

Down in the Capital for an extra long weekend before exams start, with Jag50, Merlot58 & Bertie Blowfish. We were staying just down the road and thought this would be a good brisk walk for the morning to warm up. Didn't quite realise how many steps there would be. We spent awhile on the wrong level searching but expanded our search area and I soon spotted the likely hide.
I insisted on starting our loop by getting the pavement out of the way. This was where the walk got more interesting (and strenuous).
I knew what to look for here, great one. Tftc

Tftc. We parked down by "there's nothing better" cache then walked up Chatsworth road to this one, with the intention of doing the uphill slog first, then walking down the track. And man....there was a LOT of up to get here from our car. But yay.. cache was soon found. Thanks for the motivation.
After MEGA registration, a morning walk in the Forest and Bird Ecclesfield Reserve and Wi Tako scenic reserve. This was the last of the walk - quick find, unfortunately there seem to be a few hides using this method around Wellington especially. For one hide the CO has advised that he did get permission, so that one's fine. Key guideline is that when the cache is removed, it should leave no track of having been there i.e. this type of hide should be done using adhesive velcro or cable ties, so there's no damage.
In Wellington for WENZ 2018 Mega Event. Great hide took few moments to get on it. Well done! FP
Nice cache construction. As an added bonus today we were able to view a steeplechase run around Trentham racecourse from the GZ.
Meant to log this a while back - 24 March 2017 with my brother Jacksonz - took us a bit to find this well disguised cache. The hint was helpful tftc
Very nice hide! We had an instant find as we approached GZ - although to be fair we had read the hint in advance of heading off to find this cache. Interesting wee area here, we combined this cache with Tanks and Rimutaka Klink. Made for an enjoyable mid-afternoon walk. Thanks for bringing us here!
After meeting a friend for coffee in Upper Hutt I decided to explore this track. I'm sure it would have looked very different when the pine trees were here!
I spotted the cleverly camouflaged cache as I approached. I had to suppress and involuntary shriek when a large eight legged resident scurried out of sight as I retrieved the cache. TFTC

Was after a quick and easy geocache for today. I was on Fergusson Drive and decided to pop up here and log this one. I located it once before so it was just a matter of getting to GZ and writing my name in the log book. And I had walked past it yesterday, so I knew it was still there.
Having said that, I really like this cache. It took me quite a while to find it in the first instance. When I finally figured out the hint I laughed.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry inside.
Thank you

Missed this one on the last run and it was bugging me! Looked for it more carefully this time, great hide. Awesome creativity.

Or as a middle ? Headed here from the tanks, and walked right past it without noticing it, and had to replace our steps. Needed the hint to find this very cleverly disguised cache. Ballpoint pen wouldn't work on the waterproof paper but the pencil supplied was made workable even though it is starting to rot. We then tried the alternative route down to Evergreen Crescent. The track was well overgrown with cuttygrass, so was very glad to be wearing jeans. Got to the bottom and it seemed to be someone's backyard. Luckily a schoolboy arrived home and gave us permission to head down their driveway. We obviously missed an overgrown turn to the right. Thanks for the cache to entice us on this adventure.
A lovely find again. Thanks for the commitment to high quality caches! This rocked.
Out for a night walk to see in Christmas and this was a nice easy find to start the wander.
new log book in place now. track getting overgrown but still easy to access. walked the whole track today and while notices are there to warn of possibility of falling trees there is a bypass track and I have never had a problem with the trees that were ringbarked over 25 years ago. so take care.
I was in the area for the weekend and the nearby trail was on my radar as I needed some different D/T ratings to complete a challenge.
It was full on bucketing down by now and I had over ran this cache in the search for shelter. Once it had eased off, I headed back down to located the cache. Didn't take long to spot something odd. Another well constructed cache here.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

Only one entry left in log. Container quite wet inside as there is no o-ring so couldn't replace the log with a non-water proof one as I would normally do in such situations.
A quick trip to the Trentham area in between bouts of rain. Found it quickly but thought I had made a mistake when it wouldn't move. Moved it in a different direction and there it was.
Gets a FP from us for a sneaky hide in plain view.

Cycled up from Melling with an overcast and threatening sky. We had not visited Ecclesfield Reserve previously and what a joy it. Wonderful beech trees and regenerating rimu. TFTC
Paid a early visit on a frosty morning. I walked right past it on the way down, but soon spotted it when I retraced my steps. Completed formalities then headed back to the warmth of the car and headed home for breakfast. A very nicely put together hide. Cheers and TFTC
Team geocacher Mr. T. spotted this one first (my excuse is that he was walking ahead and I was following). While I was completing the formalities a fellow cacher stopped by to say hello - nice to meet you Trails, Trails, Trails. It's the first time we have been in this area and we continued along the track to pick up a few more caches. Unfortunately we were not able to complete all of the caches along this track (the rain got too heavy) but we plan to return very soon and find the rest. Thanks for placing a cache here jjo&dobby. Worth a FP.
A whistle stop tour of the North Island on a work trip with a ferry sailing in, an afternoon on the ground, overnight nearby followed by an hour of caching Tuesday arvo, then a ferry back to the Mainland in the evening. So a plan was hatched, the maps were checked and a likely looking route was mapped out to head up into the 'hills' overlooking Silverstream and walk a loop of geocaches! Had pre-solved a couple of Puzzle caches prior (with some assistance in some cases), though in the end only managed to find one of the tickets please ones. A combination of poor looking, not-thereness, and dodgy solutions had me missing out on a few. Still easily managed to grab around 20 caches, with some absolute pearlers up on the ridge well deserving of some of my F Ps. Thanks to all the C O s who placed.
First cache of the day from this C O and what would become a pleasing circuit. Nicely hidden away at G Z and replaced as found before retracing my steps to head on up the track to the next.

Made this one at the beginning. Wandered down the steps and quickly spotted what I was looking for. Nicely constructed.. TFTC
Another spot I hadn't been to before, and some great views from here as well. Cool hide, gets a favourite from us. *TFTC jojo&dobby, #8860*
TFTC I went for a walk from here through Witako Reserve to Ecclesfield reserve. Quite a challenge for my old knees.I did enjoy the walk and the caches on the way. My dear wife tells me she as a child lived at the military camp and often played in this area.
Hi, TFTC! Got into caching whilst visiting friends in NZ, coming from Norway, and has been great so far
#376 this hide reminds me of one of my favouritve cachers Wascox hides ! Just a quick visit but I'll be back to do the track. Tftc.
Logging trackable visit from 27/02/16. Also giving a favourite point to this one! Very clever and well made.
A nice quick find once we got to GZ. Great views from here and a fab hide. A fave point from me. TFTC!!! (^‿^)

This was the end. We walked I from the silverstream end. Had to walk back to were we started, so about 2 1/2 hours and all caches found:) Spotted the hide straight away.
#1276 Nice hide! Coordinates spot on. Found this without needing the hint, checked the hint after doing paperwork and it was clear.
Very creative cache which has had a good deal of thought.
It is many years since I was last at this spot - thanks for bringing me back. Each time I've recently been on this hill to find nearby caches I've come up via the water tanks. Although a longer drive it makes for a shorter walk when I come back to complete the remaining caches up here.
Thanks for enabling a short walk cache on a day my arm is in a sling and I'm on doctors orders to rest it - you have allowed my streak to remain alive.

I think years of geocaching experience helped me to find this one immediately. I was wondering whether I was awarding a favourite point on its own merit or if I was trying to make up for some of the cache owner's other caches deserving more than one point. However, when I took a closer look at the craftsmanship, I decided a point was deserved anyhow.
I recommend that anybody planning to search for the caches along this track make sure that they have a healthy store of favourite points available to them.

Found quickly once I got to the right place Neither end nor begin for me - it's the turn around point.
