Out and about with Geo-Pooch, being mindful that upon waking this morning the old girl was limping around the house which appeared to be miraculously cured by the command "swim" at a previous cache. Water having a similar effect on the staffy as it does to a gremlin.. the following several caches requiring mangling a staffy brain who appeared to only remember the commands "swim" and "this way" with the added ability of super-smell that picked up the scent of just about every animal that even remotely came close to this path for added effect.** Cache found with ease.. I had no idea that these tracks were here, both me and the geo-pooch enjoyed the tracks, thanks for bringing me here today. No issues with this cache however we did take a few moments to ponder... If the bees own the hives.. does anyone own the bees or do the bees rent the hives.. and who collects the honey.. and is honey the bee's rent for the hives? and if so.. does the owner of the hives then invest the profits made from the honey back to the bees? or do they then use the profits to "invest" in more hives? or does the owner make the bees produce more honey to keep up with investments? just curious...TFTCFind 764
Regarding our O'Dwyers Gully walk, baby Cottontail and I set out departing from Parkside Drive just after 09:45 hr. We walked along Woogaroo Highway (interestingly named for a bushland track), and then proceeded anti-clockwise via Nic's cross over, Opossum Creek Run, before walking through the scrub to join Bee Run and returning north to then follow Woogaroo Highway back to the car. We ended up walking a total distance of 9.6 km across an elevation of 161 m, with a moving time of 2:20 hr, and elapsed time of 3:15 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/11258349271). A forgotten bushland area, and a few of the trails still seem to be used by 4WDs. Midway through our walk, baby Cottontail enjoyed a backpack nap, which gave me motivation to continue a longer route than planned. There were three bee box clusters nearby, and thankfully, the killer bees were no killers towards us today. We checked a few spots around GZ, before finding the cache in a logical spot; The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks plucka99 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today on the Anzac Day public holiday, baby Cottontail and I travelled to Springfield and walked in O'Dwyers Gully. We stopped at a few geocaches en route in Camira, which provided an opportunity for playground play. Following our walk, it was time for a bakery lunch and a few geocaches in Springfield, Camira, and Gailes, before returning home in the early afternoon.
A pleasant stroll from the other nearby plucka99 cache along this walking trail, this one came to hand equally as quick as the last. After a quick etching in the log, I decided I would continue down the path the cache was on, in the hope of securing a shortcut back to my starting point. Fair to say the distance was shorted, but not sure it was a time saver and my legs and arms would argue it wasn't worth it... I met with walls of lantana on what was steepish terrain, so not much to grab while descending down to the creek bed. I had come to far to turn around though, so I pushed through the crappy terrain and eventually reached a much smoother surface, where I was only 30m or so from the path I was really in search of. I don't recommend this shortcut if anyone else is thinking about it. Cheers plucka99.
Headed out on the geo-bike for a few caches after parting way with my granddaughter.
Decided to hit a few around Brookwater. Quick find once at GZ.

I spent today caching in the bush. I came up from O’Dwyers Gully and walked along the ridge to this cache. I steered clear of all the bees and quickly found it. TFTC!
A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
Wow. Look at all these caches. I wander which one the log is in. BEES!!!
Kidding. Quick find at GZ.

Lots of bees were buzzing around a bucket hung in a tree. I wonder what they put in it. I found the container open but contents were dry. Thanks for the cache
Approaching the bee region we wondered what the usual spot might be. But eventually we found it easily TFTC
My husband’s platoon in the MI BN of the 101st Airborne Div, Air Assault was the Killer Bees. Fitting 500th for him . My platoon in the same BN was the Earth Pigs, I own it
Continuing on the recently graded fire trail, we walked gently uphill. At GZ, we could see clearly why this cache its’ name. Killer bees everywhere, working away in such an industrious manner.
We passed through the hives, keeping to the main trail, so as to not disturb the activity and then made our way to GZ, where accurate coordinates soon had us a cache in hand!
All good here. Log signed,
Thanks plucka99,

The trail down to this one is strangely littered with childrens’ toys.
Found the cache in the usual spot and was signing when a pack of dirt bikers tore by along the path.

Found on my walk on a beautiful winter’s day and not another person about. Found easily. All in good condition. No bee hives there today. Tftc
I came to this area for a target cache or 3 that I needed for challenges. A muggle friend came long for the walk. Quick, easy find for this one.
Dancepants and I headed out just before midday for a nice walk with Harry the dog. We thought we'd get in and out again without getting rained on but we were definitely very wrong. Totally drenched, we made the find without any trouble after the rain stopped. It was then a squelchy and humid walk back to the car. We still had fun. TFTC
This was the next find on my circuit here this morning... tftc... left some American coin...
Walking back to the start after a successful walk in the bushland here.
While getting our necessary exercise I also managed to find a few caches.
The bees have moved on, or swarmed perhaps
Thank you for this cache

From where we had parked the car we decided to walk out as far as could passed some caches and pick them up on the way back. We had no idea whether we were going to hit hills on the walk or find a yellow brick road paved with gold and I had woken up with plenty of foresight and packed my ruby slippers just in case.
The walk out was awesome but it had me thinking that maybe I should have brought the 4WD out and turned these caches into drive-bys. The gate near the school was open and it looked like plenty of people have been having a phat time in the mud here recently. I’d left my mud wrestling gear at home and Mrs Woodyrothwell always kicks my backside in a mud wrestle so I was on a hiding to nothing.
Thankfully the find was quick and we were walking back the way we had come without sighting anyone. tftc

A nice walk out today with lisylou, only had these 2 left, completed all these through here in 2014
This one has been on my list to do for ages. Today after a work meeting I finally decided to do it. It was an interesting walk here today, watching lots of 4WD utes slip and slide in the mud and attack the rough terrains. I had to keep moving off the track for them! Nice easy find. TFTC!
After an unsuccessful attempt a couple of months ago to get to this cache along paths which the GPS were showing but were not actually there, today I made an approach from a different direction and after a pleasant stroll I arrived for a quick find. All good with this cache.

Sorry about the generic log on a few of these but easier for me than typing every one of them
I headed out here this morning to mainly grab a few of the animal alphabet and christian name challenge cache qualifiers, but I wound up grabbing several others along the way
Most were pretty easy to find and all were found in good condition.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed the log.
Thanks for the cache plucka99

Retrieved cache while on the lookout for "Killer Bees". Evidently they were out gathering. All good with this hive... TFTC plucka99
Out with the family and a friends dog exploring their "backyard". Love this area. Let's hope this piece of woodland remains. Tftc
Down from Toowoomba with Eskies5 to grab a few caches. Our third find for the morning and we were more than happy to arrive at GZ with out too much hard work. TFTC plucka99
Continuing on our planned circuit we were thankful for a quick find here after a couple of disappointing DNFs earlier.
We stopped here for a Sunday afternoon walk. It's sad to see that this little bush land is used as a rubbish tip.
The cache is in great condition.

Our last cach while out on the trail. Will have to come back another day for the rest of them. Tftc!
Made this the last one for today as off to do a night cache tonight. Out with GR33N0 for the day. Seems a long time since some of the caches have been sought out in this area. TFTC from the UK
1.00pm. No sign of any hives here and no bees, which we didn't mind at all. Quick find.
Thank you. David and Noeline.

Went cross country from dummy spit. What an epic journey through the Lantana. Wont do that again in a hurry. Lol. Tftc plucka99
Mrs Just a Trifle was out for a day of caching adventures with barbbowman and Raynersinoz. Today, we headed out Springfield way as there were a couple of caches there which would help Raynersinoz with some challenge caches she was trying to complete.
We had pleasant weather for our day out and we certainly made an adventure of the day getting to some of the caches. As we walked along the track we saw some signs regarding bee hives, but we didn't manage to see any nor any of the killer bees The cache was easily located and with our names in the log book, we headed off again along the track.
Thank you plucka99 for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

It's Thursday, so I'm out and about with my caching buddies barbbowman and JustaTrifle. I'm after caches to help fulfil a few challenges and we all like an adventure, so Springfield it is. BB and JAT have visited the area before, but there are still some caches that none of us have found yet.
Killer Bee was cache #5 in the bushland today and we were in luck - no killer bees or hives either. They must have been moved on. It didn't take us long to find this one, so log signed it was time to move on. TFTC plucka99

At Bush Boulder and decided that 600+ metres was a bit far away but the bees was the last one in the area and it was a long walk in to do again, so staggered up the hill to the flat area and soon warded off the killer bees and began the walk out. Funny, didn't seem to take as long as I thought it might, suppose mostly down hill. Didn't see the hives, or any bees, just a fly or two (maybe more). Good walk for winter.

It was arranged to do these caches, some time back, with Mr & Mrs Roddy C but with bad weather & one thing & another it didn't happen.
Put on the back-burner, the trail was once again raised as a possible joint venture & this time, despite the heavily overcast skies, it was 'all systems go!'.
14 caches plus an event made today another great caching experience.
This string of caches are going very well!
Another short walk soon had us closing in.
GZ was quite evident on approach.
A quick find.
All good with the cache.
Signed & replaced as found.

What better way to cache early Australia Day than with geocacher Linden/6, on a long-awaited date, with some great bush-walking to do.
On the walk along this trail, we saw a few signs about bee-keeping activities being conducted on this area. Just as well they aren't killer bees being kept, or we would never be able to tell the tale of finding thins one in an obvious hiding spot.
Found at 7.45am on 26th January 2016. TFTC.

Well, I'm possibly allergic to bees, and I'm also well aware of how precious bees are to the world, so ordinarily I would take the exclusion signs posted near here very seriously indeed. However, the logs saying there appeared to be no more bee hives here reassured me somewhat, and I certainly didn't see anything bee-like in the short trip to the cache, coming from the West. All is fine here, so TFTC.
Picking up a couple of caches on a late afternoon walk today. After deviating off the track I could see a tell tale sign of a cachers favourite place. TFTC pluck99

I had taken all but a few minutes to look at the map this morning here before deciding to throw the bike in the car and head over to go for a ride. Initially had planned to start on a different route, but construction was in the way so I changed things up a bit and this was where I started.
I was hoping that the bees in the area would not be to interested in me after I recently started having Royal Jelly on a daily basis. But really did not see any bees. Thankfully though I did find a cache and got my name in the log book before moving on.

And that concludes our geocaching for the day, I too did not see any bees along the path but I did see quite a few signs, perhaps they have been moved? Remembered to bring a pen this time XD. Signed the logbook and made our way home. Thanks plucka99!
I was cruising around the area this morning for a few particular caches when this one seemed pretty close. It would have been rude not to continue along the track and sign my name in the log book so around I went. There are plenty of signs about the bees in the area but unfortunately I think the hives have been moved somewhere else. I parked up and strolled on down the hill and soon spotted the hide.
Thanx plucka99

Out around the back of Springfield for a geocycle with Brother Colin this morning.
We were finally on the bikes, but even a pedal up the little hill had not warmed us up yet. The wind was bitterly cold today.
We rode almost all the way to GZ. The cache location seemed to be obvious from quite a distance. No worries with this find.
No killers bees, or any bees were spotted on our journey.

Teamdfl and I are in area today for a few caches.
We brought the MTB's and had a great ride around the trails.
This was one neither of us has found.
After a short search we found it.
Thanks for the cache.

Found by Sunshine Toledo and Jinga2 at 2:18pm. Parked outside and made the walk in to GZ. it was a long uphill walk too. TFTC
Out for an afternoon of caching with Rhyssa6. We headed to this one next. I spotted something yellow as we walked along the track, but it wasnt the cache container - that was still a short walk away. No beehives were spotted, but the cache container was quickly in Rhyssa6s hands. We signed the log and headed off to the next one
I don't know if we had blinkers on or what but we didn't see a single beehive anywhere! Fortunately we did see a cache (or several) though so we were happy.
Journey down the bank past the bees (we didn't see any in the hives) and found it without too much looking. The GPS was all over the place... But still it was okay! Big shout out to Dawesy321 to made the find on this one. TFTC plucka99
Spent the day in the area with Genyo doing some caching. I was excited for this cache as I knew what would be in the area but sadly there was no activity in the hives. We continued onto GZ where the GPS was sending Genyo in circles. After a little searching I spotted the perfect place for a cache and there it was. TFTC!
The aim of the game today is to clear the Springfield side of this bushland, and so here we are
Wondering if the large yellow boxes are for the Queen Bees? Nobody at home today, although I took a few pics of the hives and signs. An easy find at GZ, thanks
Better keep on moving on over the hill...

Wandered in from the Springfield side, I have been in this bushland many times so know the easy way to get into the area. Close to GZ I spotted something out of place and sure enough there was the cache. The coordinates were a bit out for me so I'll post the numbers the trusty Garmin gave me. Congrats on your first hide pluck99, and TFTC
I know this bushland well and know this particular spot well also. I had photos and a chat about it on the local geocaching Facebook page about 12 months ago. At the time I met the owner and had quite a chat. It's looking a little neglected now and no where as many hives as then. I got a little start when this one was published as I have been setting up a multi-cache that will begin just down the road. It's been a work in progress for over 12 months. Lets face it, I'm lazy. No worries though as it's not within the designated distance allowed. On to the hunt, well this one had me going in circles for quite a while. The problem with bush GZs is the trees do interfere with the signals. I eventually spotted it about 28meters away from my GPS co-ordinates. You may want to go back and review the location and check the co-eds again. This was not a concern for me as it's easy searching and I spotted the 'usual sign'. Thanks plucka99, and congratulations on your first caches. A favourite point for the location and the fact it was your first.
