We are slowly making our way to St Arnaud via a number of smaller towns and stopping at Maldon for lunch. We enjoyed eating lunch at the Gold Exchange Caf Restaurant so much last time, we thought we would stop there again. It didn't disappoint. Google Maps might say it takes less than an hour between these towns, but somehow, it keeps taking us 2 hours. However, we are now getting closer to our target of 20 geocaches in all Victorian LGAs, hitting more in Mt Alexander, Central Goldfields, Loddon, and our new LGA of Northern Grampians. Nice quick find. However, watch our for the barbed wire laying around at GZ. The log is completely drowned and needs some TLC.Thanks for the cache, Team Ninja.Hunter

A short trip up to Maldon and Heathcote this weekend grabbing a few caches on the way.Rode the rail trails this morning, firstly towards Castlemaine, and then Maldon going north west. All the cache were there, but most need some TLC. Mostly wet logs and damaged containers. This line had a lot of cuttings and bridges! Not a lot of flat land around. Thanks, Robmc.

An unusual situation for us instead of being in lovely warm Queensland we are hiding around cold old Victoria. Medical reasons and caravan repairs have us staying here and we will be looking forward to finding as many caches as possible while we are here. SL TFTC

Out and about in the Maldon area again and it was time to finish this series. Next stop along the way and again the log was soaked however I had no more replacements with me. Grabbed a photo of the log and cache.

Thanks again Team Ninja...

It really is a missing link. Nice stonework though. Sadly this log too is saturated & slimy. Defeats the purpose of a log in a ziplock bag when the bag is left wide open!! Many thanks

Unfortunately the container was full of water the log was too wet to sign

Caching in the area we were able to finish off the SL series after running out of time on our last visit here. Starting backwards we worked our way down to Floodway, enjoying the remnants of the old abandoned railway that each cache had to show us.
Interesting ruins here, even looks like the remains of a water race!
Thanks AussieTrainDriver for highlighting this historic railway line.

The day dawned a bit cooler today in Saint Arnaud.
We started out doing some of the StArs geo art, but then headed of to Bendigo for a baby sitting day tomorrow.
On the way we deviated to get Forte's Ground, and then some very enjoyable caches nearer Bendigo,
Very interesting stonework in the water race over the road.

**Thanks for placing this cache AussieTrainDriver**

Nice to have a variety of cache containers and sizes to discover in this series. Interesting stone retaining wall. SL at 9.35am Left: rooster. #6188 TFTC AussieTrainDriver

Another great site here!
We loved the perfect s stonework on the base here, even that in the drain which directs water away from the base of the embankment.
A lovely sized container and 'keeper' as well.

On a well earned break in Castlemaine and I’m spending the time just touring the whole area, enjoying the sites and picking up caches as I go.
The bushfires sure did take out a fair bit of infrastructure on this line, a lot of lost bridges and such.
Thanks Team_Ninja TFTC TFTS.

TFTC and for sharing the history of this particular Rail Line. Er had completed some of the SL series caches from the Maldon end a week or so ago. Being a nice day for a drive we decide to complete the series , starting form this end . We could then circle from Maryborough to Maldon and then back to Maryborough without having to do any back tracking.=For the most part we found the caches without too much drama. One of the multis gave us a bit of trouble, more of that in the log for that particular cache. A great series and worthy of a favorite from us.

On a day out with Wozzle68 and MazzyMay with the idea of getting the 100 for the month. At the start of the day we thought we would be fighting the rain but as the day went on it turned out to be OK . TFTC.

16-Jul-18
Maldon was the target for today's caching foray in the company of Wozzle68 and Dippa46, we had a wonderful day investigating the area, getting a lot of exercise, more than necessary in some cases, but fun nevertheless. Really enjoying the series. TFTC

16-Jul-18
Caching the Maldon area today with MazzyMay and Dippa46 trying to chalk up a few virtual souvenirs. The rain threatened to spoil our day early on but soon cleared up and turned into a great day for it. Smile The stone wall was great to see. Thanks for the hide AussieTrainDriver!

We are on a road trip with the aim of getting out of Melbourne for a few hours having got my parents to their hire car and then out of the city. We pointed them towards Wodonga and said goodbye in Wallan. Now where shall we go......hmmm! We did a bit of maintenance here as the Chief discovered the cache open, contents strewn everywhere. All contents collected but couldn’t find a log book. Removed lizard from cache container when realised he was real and returned to car for a spare log book. Everything is back in place now.
Thanks for placing [SL] - Missing Link so we could find it.
Thanks AussieTrainDriver for the caching fun.

We have done parts of this series from Maldon and it was good that we could continue to do some more of it today. It was intermittently raining today which meant we could not see all the embankments as per your photos. Still we enjoyed our run of six caches today.

Suscoe headed north very early this morning for a day of caching around the Maldon and Newstead area.
We left home in steady drizzle but by the time we crossed the divide the sky eased up a bit. For the remainder of the day we had sunny skies with the occasional cloud and a generous southerly wind blowing which kept temperatures in the high teens and low twenties.
The country is pretty dry around here but we were pleased to report that grass seeds are not as bad here compared to the North East and even Castlemaine.
We enjoyed this Maldon - Shelbourne railway trail and had a terrific morning making our way from The End to The Beginning.
A big thank you to Team Ninja for a very well researched set of Cache notes and for sharing this knowledge with us.
All good at GZ, all quiet on the roads and the day was warming up ever so slowly.

A 4 day trip from Adelaide to Everton, Beechworth and surrounds.

8 of South Australia's finest caching teams came across the border Freddo, Team Astro, The White Dog Gang, Four Fun, Unicycle, Southern Cross Caching, Shonkloic, and Team Waldron hit the bike trails and country back roads.

It wasn't nice the the mozzies were sent to defend the ceches against us but we persisted.

On the way home we visited Bendigo, St Arnaud and many towns in between.

Many thanks to all the cache owners who put out caches for us to find.

A great time was had and we left enough to make another trip worthwhile.

We CAME. We CACHED. We SAW STUFF. Eight South Australian caching teams on the prowl in Lake Victoria. We were attacked by vampire mosquitoes. We were attacked by rogue magpies. We were attacked by brown snakes. We were attacked by running kangaroos. We were attacked by publicans and cooks. In the end we got the message and went home, but not before finding lots of hidden cachey things using billions of dollars of satellites and cheap hand-held devices.

Smile Found on an awesome trip with the SAW STUFF boys (Shonky, Astro[me], Waldron, Southern Cross, Whitedog, Unicycle, Freddo & Four-Fun). The trip had it all including this awesome cache. There were pots and schooners (no pints) Surprised, mazzive mozzies the size of small elephants we hitched rides on Razz, realistic lizards, real live [xx(] kangaroos that got too close and uphills. Then there were bikes and pumps. There was sweat and dust but no tears. Big Grin My thanks to the group and the coordination that enabled an amazing fun filled few days that will go down in caching-lore. [^]

Thanks to Team_Ninja and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

26-Oct-16
Bendigo Cup Day and the Sisterhood of the Cargo Pants were off on a day out. We had lots of fun except for the damn mosquitoes everywhere.

Because we all live in Bendigo we started from The End and worked our way towards Maldon. As I pulled this one out I thought wow that's heavy. Then I tipped the contents all over me. The clip has broken so it has allowed water to fill it which is a shame as it was a nice sized container.
