This was an Earthcache with a difference, which made it interesting, as did the location.Answers sent.Another very cool day today, but the sun was out much earlier and at least the day seemed brighter even if the temperature wasn't.We decided to have a quieter day so the emphasis was on the Lab in town and some sightseeing and whatever caches that took us near.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache LB.**SKI Pair****

Short notice today, but Mr D decided I needed a break from the ironing and washing, and would I like to go and find a cache or two. Would I? Does a dog have fleas? Not many unfound caches left between Warwick and the border now, but this earthcache beckoned us, thought I had done it previously, but obviously not.So, do you think this wall is Granite? You will have to come and see for yourself. Thanks LiB for the location and the earthcache

Sixth and final cache after a late start to the day.

I arrived very late this arvo ... greeted by a dream, hope and love. By the time I had a look around, found the wall, taken notes for my answers to the questions and strolled to the Memorial building, the sun was starting to glow golden.

It was quiet up here, except for the sounds of birdsongs and their wings on the breeze, which was cooling the day down. The sweet aromas of the nearby blooming flowers mixed with the smoke from a fireplace somewhere nearby that had been lit to ward of the evening chill.

I stayed a while, mindful of this moment in time. When the sky was turning from golden to orange, I made my way back to the car ... calling it a day.

TFTC ... So peaceful here.

Hi there LíB, we found your cache Do you think this wall is Granite ? today.

Day four touring out from Warwick. Previous days have seen some great geocaching, and today is looking to be the same if not better.

Thanks for taking us to this wonderful place. Answers to the required questions will follow later.

We’re thoroughly enjoying our tour around the countryside today, & so far we’ve found quite a variety of container types, sizes and ratings.

Regards
Ian & Penny

Today is the fifth day of the Sims_family/Dromaniax big road trip to Queensland and back again. We are towing a very big trailer, which is chockers, but when you have a mission, and someone else is paying for the fuel, and there is the opportunity for nine days of caching fresh fields, you jump at the chance. We have a long list of target caches and hope to cross quite a few goals off the list on this trip.We were hoping to grab a few Earthcaches today in between long driving stintsThank you for this Earthcache LiB.

30-Apr-23
Sims_family and Dromaniax are on day Five of a our 10 day trip to Queensland and back again towing a 12x8x7 foot trailer that is loaded to the hilt and weighs quite a bit. Fuel efficiency has gone out the window with the Ginja Ninja (My Orange Mitsubishi Triton) going through fuel faster than I have ever seen before.Day Five and the day to start heading home, a day we will make it to Armidale. With the trailer we are keeping it simple when it comes to caches so this was a good one for us to grab on the way through. Parking here was nice and simple with just a short walk up to GZ. Answers were sent by Dromaniax. Sorry for the late log I have been waiting for the answers to be sent before I logged.Thank you LB for the Earthcache

21-Jan-23
This was the first time that I have been back to Stanthorpe since the Mega in 2015 and in the meantime I have solved a lot of the puzzles and there are a lot more caches to find.

I had been to this location back in 2015 and thought there must have been an easier access point to the one I used last time. No there isn't. I did use a different approach and arrive at the location and worked out m answers. Email sent to CO.

PirateLinda and I have journeyed to Stanthorpe to attend the Catch-up in Stanthorpe event… With nothing more pressing, we’re making a long weekend of it…

The giant thermometer in Stanthorpe announced it was 11.0 degrees today… which meant at some stages I had three layers of clothing on, including a down jacket…

Stanthorpe was added to the agenda for July thanks to the latest crazy monthly challenge in Brisbane… there’s a rich vein of unclaimed challenges for us down here…

It wasn’t until we’d done a block that I realised I’d been here during the Mega… I remembered the memorial…

Answers sent… thanks for highlighting this location for us today… that’s quite some tree that’s come down in the park…

28-Mar-22
I'm on my way back home after visiting Brisbane. Sophie GeoSchnauzer and I spent overnight in Warwick after getting caught in then tail end of the rain yesterday. Today looks better for caching - the rain is now east of my route. So, off we went. I decided to go to Leslie dam for the caches and lab caches out there. It turned out to be a serious waste of caching time. The caches were inaccessible due to dam overflow blocking the road, or muggles. However, Sophie and I had a nice walk. This is our eighth cache today, of eighteen. The other 10 were lab caches.

I've sent my answers. Thanks, LiB

Heading to Stanthorpe for caching. Took two extra days of. Yippee. Now day two.

One of my main things today was trying to complete the Unique Difficulty/Terrain Challenge. Of course one was for my next D/T loop, still one to go on my 5th loop.
The funny thing is I did try to keep records of what I did today, so hard doing by yourself.
As I log everything hopefully everything works out and I kept good records.

Todays haul 43 and the breakdown is 5 traditional, 33 mystery, 3 Earthcache and 2 Letterbox. Lots of fun finding caches or learning stuff about the local area.

Thank you CO for bringing me to outback Queensland.

Sorry for the generic log

I found this geocache on a mystical journey from South Australia, through Victoria, New South Wales and back again.
I did log all of the caches on my handheld GPS however some of the logs did not sychronise properly so I apologise for the generic log on these caches, which are the ones that didn't log proprly from my GPS.
I had a fantastic journey and thank you for placing and maintaining your geocache or earthcache for visitors like me.

An interesting location, strange little wall.
Wombles and I completely missed the easy way to get to GZ and managed to bush bash it some Finally we made it to the wall, took some photos and discussed the answers together. On the much easier way back to the car we were greeted by a bunch of Apostlebirds. They are so entertaining to watch and listen to.

Thanks for the Earthcache LíB Big Grin
Answers have been sent by wombles for the both of us.

Nyssaflutterby and I were on an adventure and we stopped off here. I'd been to this park before when the Mega was on in Stanthorpe but hadn't seen this section of the park. We parked at the back and managed to miss the obvious stairs and huffed our way up the hill.
I have sent our answers to the Co, thanks for placing this EC here.

Visiting Stanthorpe this weekend to work on the apple art and all of the other wonderful caches in the area, this earthcache was on the target list.
I have submitted the answers to the CO and hope all is ok with them.

I have just had the best weekend caching around the Warwick, Summit and Stanthorpe areas. With caching buddies (geonayfee, Willis007 and Triple Turmoil) for the weekend we got in a very large number of caches, completing the apple geoart, the fruit run and a few other special caches along the way. I had a fantastic weekend with lots of laughs and funny events it just made for a fun time; the puzzle solving in the lead up to the weekend was great also.

A big thanks to all the CO’s of the caches along the way; for placing and maintaining the caches for us to enjoy. Visiting this area and seeing places I would never see in a normal trip here was enlightening, so again thanks.

In the weekend I got around 180 caches so firstly apologies for the generic part to the log, I do not remember all specifically but some did stand out so I will add a little to those in my posts.

Day two and it was an early start, there is so much still to get in the area. A fun and eventful day in many ways, lol.

As we started to work our way back home it was a matter of zigzagging and back tracking the caches to Warwick. We came across this interesting earth cache, not what I was expecting but a very different look at earth caches. I wasn’t sure if I had the right item till I started reviewing the questions.
Thanks for this one, answers sent.

After meeting Willis007 and Chamad at a previous event over New Years, they invited me to join them on an epic geoart mission at Stanthorpe. After weeks of puzzling and planning, today was the day (together with Nayfee). We covered a lot of mileage, had a lot of laughs and learnt a lot along the way.

Between Warwick and Stanthorpe there are a LOT of caches to sign and we did a pretty good job of getting every single one we could.

24-Jan-21
Day two on our epic journey around Stanthorpe and surrounds with Chamad, TripleTurmoil and Willis007.

After some much needed rest we woke up bright and early (Thanks Chamad for the farmyard sounds) and set off for another full day of caching around Stanthorpe to clear up the rest of the Stanthorpe Apple and a few other caches in between, then we slowly made our way back north towards Warwick while grabbing a bunch of caches we didn't get yesterday.

Same as yesterday we had a wonderful time exploring the area. I really enjoy visiting this part of the world, it's a great feeling to get out of the city and enjoy the country life.

Thank you to each and every CO for placing caches at these locations. We had a great time.

It’s some years since I beadled around the Stanthorpe region and the promise of a temperate climate and low humidity drew me here. Lots of caches, cheese, jam, wineries, truffles, happy hour, awesome scenery, you get the picture Even managed to convert a muggle to our evil ways Lots of fun!

Shiny new geocacher’s first Earthcache. Answers sent to CO.

Out on a Sunday caching adventure with MattyRx and Seemyshell. Most caches found were signed NMS.

SMS has sent in the required info on this. My ex was a jack of all building trades and worked on older dwellings etc, so I knew what i was looking at and the terminology for it.

I have been up here years ago to do a cache only 5 meters or so from the wall. Sad that it's gone - but nice to see another way to earn a smiley. Found said wall and performed our investigation. Seemyshell, No_Tomorrow and I investigated the questions and had some pretty solid answers that were sent to the CO.

Thanks 3LG for another reason to visit this little hill in Stanthorpe!

Out caching with MattyRx and NoTomorrow, we had started these puzzles about a week ago. Some were very challenging. This Apple had some good DT ratings and filled some good gaps.
All caches were found in good order with dry log books. Although a few took some extra time.
Cheers to the COs.
We will be back to complete the series.

Great little earthcache today doing it with earthlight who has sent answers for us both
Guessed what type of cache this would be before even reaching gz

Thank you for bringing this memorial to our attention. We found an easier way the following day but the walk did us good. Lots of construction going on just near GZ. Thanks for the cache.

08-Oct-18
When we arrived, there was a lot of restrictive barriers etc so we weren't sure that we would be able to get up to GZ. They are doing some works but not where we needed to be. I do think that we may have taken the long way up but it was great when we got there. Thanks for the cache and bringing this area to our attention.

Day 3 of my trip to Stanthorpe and surrounds. I had decided to see if I could find five cache types again today, before heading home to Brisbane. This earthcache was the first cache of the morning. I had been in this park a couple of years ago, but this cache wasn't here then. Today, I approached from a different direction so got to see things from a different angle. Once at GZ, I gathered the information that I needed for this cache, then went to the memorial shelter for a look around. I have sent my answers to the CO. thanks for bringing me back here and TFTC

Found Smile 28 November 2017 at 4:50 pm. Came in via Scholz Street to a resident who didn't look too impressed that we were parking near her house. Shut the gate, gave us *The Look* and walked off. This is totally a gorgeous reserve, and the little memorial here is so cute - a really neat place for such a building. I like various parts of Stanthorpe, although I don't care if I never see another granite boulder again. This town is loaded with them, even so much as decoration in residents front yards. Thanks for bringing me here! Giving it a favourite point.

I had been for a short walk in the National Park. I had a quick ride along a nice country road to collect some awesome caches.

Time now for the "suburban" Stanthorpe run.

I parked near a cache and set off on the geocycle for the second time today. Also my second earthcache for the day.

I have been to this spot more than once before. Wink Can't say I saw the wall though - I did not make it past the memorial.

Thanks for a nice easy (I hope anyway) earthcache. Big Grin
