Wow, this would have to be my favourite cache so far in my time travelling NZ. Ridiculously cute! TFTC
Very cute little find. Paid my respects to the gnome and left an ambulance sticker in the cache - apt as Im returning to Palmy from teaching first aid in Taranaki. TFTC
A popular cache here, and I can see why now I've visited. All good except for the barking dog, great job here. It's head home today after a couple of nights at Urenui beach. A nice long weekend in Taranaki was just what I wanted, too many times previously it's just been a time-constrained day visit and have never really scratched beyond the surface of the area, or the caching. I was keen to head home via SH45 surf highway and a couple of other caches. Also keen to up my cache finds by the CO Phronimos, and this was a Pheeding Phrenzy as I got a few of his, as a CO I'm aiming to get finds by him up to triple figures, today will help with that aim. Phanks very much to all regional COs for their placements and maintenance/choices of awesome places to get people to visit.
Nice old cache. The doors are always open to geocaching. Umbrella for rainy days and gumboots on the feet, With a pen in hand off, we go. Somebody got the A TB is the bonus today.
Thanks happynappy8 for the cache. Its #1897 for us. We found your cache on Tuesday 19 March 2024. Quick park n grab and dropped off a trackable.
TFTC after some gentle bush searching in between muggle transportation we found the awesome cache. Awesome cache
On our way through New Zealand where we looked for some geocaches on the road from Whanganui to New Plymouth. And luckily they were in our path. CO thank you for making it available and maintaining it. This way we were able to take our hobby with us. With friendly geocache greetings from the Netherlands
New Plymouth to Whanganui today and grabbed a few caches on the way. Parked nearby. Cache found after a quick search. Lovely hide, though the left door is broken, needing a rock to hold it in place Lovely cache getting an FP from us TFTCTim and Viv - ddm
Great cache! Glad I was a bit persistent, so keen to find it based on all the positive reviews. So good! Thanks heaps for the cache and happy new year!
Traveling from whanganui to New Plymouth, stopped in Opunake for a look and found most caches. TFTC
Nice home for a gnome, such a great cache, very happy to be able to give it a favourite. Thanks happynappy8 for bringing us here.
I don't often get to visit the Taranaki, and even rarer is a visit to New Plymouth. But I had a reason to be here over the weekend, and even though that reason was not geocache related I still managed to sneak a few caches into my itinerary
I had decided to make my return journey via 'the scenic route' in order to try and get a few caches to help me with my '360deg from home' count on PGC, as I have some ugly gaps on my chart.
It wasn't until I actually stopped here that I noticed the high number of FPs this cache has, so I hoped it would be an enjoyable cache to find, which it was. It took me a few minutes to actually locate it, but it was worth it. No issues at all with either finding the cache, or else with the container or contents. The log was soon signed and I was back on my way again.
Thanks for bringing me here today. Happy to give it another well deserved FP

I Did Not Believe Grandad When He Said We Were Goin To Meet Mr Gnome.Sure Enough Mr Gnome Was Home,Cuppa Later And Off To The Next Cache.
Almost missed this but then I spotted the guardian, and quickly had the cache in hand, great hide, cheers
Called here after a lunch stop in Opunake. I had unfinished business with this one, I had come here several years ago after driving over from Stratford to meet with a friend for dinner. Unfortunately it was dark and pouring with rain, and I gave away the search reasonably quickly. No problems today, a nicely themed cache. Signed log, TFTC!
I walked right past this one. Luckily malinkaly has some eagle eyes. Well themed cache container.
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.
Greetings from Dunedin!
Thanks for the cache, happynappy8

Cool cache! We dropped offa jeep TB for the gnomes to use until someone moves it on. Lovely spot and nicely placed. A FP from us pd course. Tft
The GPS bounced around all over the place. I was on the point of moving on when I spotted the protector. TFTC
Nice quick find on our way home from a very wet walk to Dawson’s Falls. Cute little hide TFTC
#9564. I am travelling north to Taranaki to pick up some of the TMGT geotour caches in this region. I am having a 4 day weekend so there is plenty of time to drive here and take in the scenery and find some geocaches. Spent the first night in Hawera and after doing some local caches in Hawera I am driving around the west side of the mountain today. I parked close by and headed into the bushes to find the gnome home. The gnomes are good at hiding the entrance to their house. I looked around quite a few places before i spied something a bit different. Checked and saw it was the cunningly hidden porch for the home. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks happynappy8 for hiding it here.
no problem finding this one, cache is all good, deserves a fp for something different, tftc
#12,374. Parked for a little walk off South Road in Ōpunake. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. Great gnome home. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Two of our team went and found nothing, as I went, I wondered how blind they were. Both container and logbook were in good condition.a snail was stuck on the container, must be a great hiding spot. Thanks for the cache, it concludes our day on the surf highway.
Cheers for the amusing cache was great had to take sum snapshots as was rather unique an haven't quite come across 1 quite like gud luck hunters!!
Absolutely beautiful! The container might be leaking as was a little wet. Very pleasant surprise none the less!!

We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.
I had a fall a couple of days ago so I have a very sore and swollen ankle so I am just looking for caches that intrigue me and gk is having to go to find any other caches that are a bit more of a walk.
I had hobbled across the road and gk found the cache, he said it was worth me looking at so I carefully edged my way up the little slope. Yes it was a cute one and one I am pleased to have seen. It was a nice quick find, gk signed the log and returned it as he found it.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

realised i was lookin in the wrong place cache a quick search and was finaly in the bag ,i love this one well thought out a fav point for this
We went into the trees, and soon spotted the gnomes, lying in the grass. We pondered if one should have contained the logbook, but as previous logs referred to their home, we searched a bit further, and found it a few metres away. We then returned the gnomes to what we assume was their rightful location. A favourite from us. TFTC
Found it while in Taranaki for Waitangi long weekend. Great hide! Well done. Another FP for well deserved nice placement. TFTC! TB out
A beautifully put together cache! and well worthy of a fav point from me.
Travelling home from New Plymouth after staying up there for a week in lovely weather and swimming most days at one or other of the many beaches around the wider area. ..Lovely.
thanks for the work that has gone into constructing this clever cache. All was well here.
