Found It.................While up in the area working and with a few hours before we were due to check in to our accommodation for the night we grabbed a couple of caches. After pulling up we wandered around looking at all of the remains of the old water pump and wondered what it would have been like when it was at full capacity, with all of the noise and people that it took to run it. After taking some pictures of the sun setting across it we set too to try and find the cache. Mr H_3 was looking in all the wrong places as it was Mrs H_3 who came up with the goods and with the log signed we continued our journey. Thanks becca85 for the cache
We were on our way home from the Mega, and as we went via Ballarat to see Mr Dromaniax's father in the hospital, we decided to grab the cache closest to our Centroid to meet a Challenge cache.
We hadn't been able to make the exact calculation, but we knew it would be around Timor. So we decided to find all four caches just to be sure.
This was one of the four.
We found the cache in fading light, which was in great condition.
Thank you becca85 for this Traditional cache.

What a fantastic ruin, absolutely defies imagination how much work and engineering has been put into the quest for gold. A brilliant site to highlight with a terrific cache.
What a fantastic spot and I love the hide it wasn’t too hard to find once you read the hint I knew what you were looking for thank you for bringing is here
In Maryborough for the day with time for caching finding a variety of caches and a couple of DNFs All in all a very satisfying day and while the weather at times looked threatening the rain held off By the size and scale of the remnant arch this mine certainly lives up to its name of Grand Duke TFTC becca85
Camping nearby for the long weekend, we set out to explore the town and surrounds.
After my muggle friends read through the information board and discovered a spider bigger than my hand we set about to find this cache.
Thanks for pointing out this interesting site.

After at least 5 attempts at this one, each over an hour of searching, I finally spotted it. The relief I now feel knowing That this cache cant haunt me anymore is overwhelming. TFTC Becca it’s been the toughest one I have encountered so far
Heading off to Halls Gap for a couple of days with Bogonghazy. Quick detour. Easy find. Thanks for placing the Geocache
Found with LittleBoss2 on a beautiful day travelling. We walked and sometimes bush bashed to a lot of caches today on our way from Bendigo to HallsGap. So many amazing views today, making us feel so grateful to live in Victoria.
Our thanks to Becca85 for bringing us here

Searched as much as we could but no luck, might come back tonight and see if we have any luck -Raymond And Squizz
Must have taken some effort to get this pump house up and running, have a cache or two of these hidden so found in reasonable time, fav from me. TFTC
We have finally got this wretched cache.
We came for a weekend to Maryborough to specially find this one cache that has eluded us.... and it’s the same old story.... where we first looked..... a long time ago.
Got after 3 long sessions here.
TFTC and it truely is a magnificent site.

My family came down to visit, searched for a while but could not find. Thought we found were it should be but no luck
#477! Nic did a great job and found this one fairly quickly! More by accident than anything! TFTC. PaulandNic!
Was told by my work to have Monday off from work so i turned that into 3 days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and I picked a spot on the map that I can not remember ever visiting so Marybourgh was the spot.
After such a big day yesterday the plan was to a have a bit more of a relaxing day and take it as it comes.
Back on the bitumen for a bit and came across this very impressive structure, very interesting to read about what it was for and the effort to build it back then.
They sure got a lot of gold out of the mine to make it worth the while.
After searching in a quite a few spots for about 10 mins I eventually spotted the sneaky cache just poking its head out, I then added my name to the log and now lets see how many more I can find today a bit more of a relaxed pace.
Thanks becca85 TFTC.

We arrived and was quite surprised at the structure. We walked around, took photos, read the information boards and went back towards the car. Oops, forgot about the cache. This took far longer to find than it should have. Thanks for the cache and bringing us here.
Wow. Such a clever little hide. With the help of the clue, logs and sticks to move leaf litter the prize appeared. TFTC. Favourite from me.
Looking... Looking... Looking... Looking... and thank goodness for Snips & CO’s persistence.
It’s great to find these great sites but very disappointing when the caches are so hard to find. Wasted an hour looking. Liked at other comments all said hard so why difficulty only 2?
I knew what I was looking for but couldn't see it, so I decided to use a stick to brush away & soon had it in hand. Tftc.
Thanks for showing us an awesome relic of our ancestral stomping grounds, unfortunately did not find.. Newbies.
Found at 4.00pm. An amazing piece of history. To see the pump in action would have been wonderful. A well hidden cache.
Good spot for a cache.

Hooray !!
Here's another great reminder of why I love Geocaching [:X]
It takes me to hidden places like this one
Who doesn't luv exploring an olde mine site ??
And this one is a ripper [^]
Yer just know that this mine was a good'un !!
Unless the arch was a folly ?? [:o]
But a read of the info signs,
revealed that this was the richest of mines
Right up to the point where it went broke and closed down
The usual story !!

Appropriate hide too

Found today with Explorer Nan, while enjoying a day out exploring Maryborough and surrounds. This is one of the more spectacular old mines to visit. Amazing architecture. The information boards were extremely interesting. Oh yeah, there was a cache to find as well - which we did eventually, after a bit of a hunt. Nicely tucked away. TFTC and for bringing us here becca85.
This is an amazing area; hard to believe the infrastructure!! What a craftily hidden cache - it kept our tails in the air for a while!! TFTC
Wow!! The remains of the water pump building, is pretty impressive. Thanks for placing. Tftc.
Wow this old mine site is very impressive, the arch in the remains was cool it would have taken some work to build
Log full. Signed as KKSW (kenare kenbryl Sean.75 and Wozzle68)
What a team effort this was. I was volunteered to retrieve the cache. Thanks for highlighting fantastic ruins. Tftc

We have been cooped up, keeping warm and nursing our colds for a couple of weeks and we thought we would head out and find a few caches out Maryborough way.
Our last for the day - what a terrific spot for a photographer. Had to wait out one of the locals before heading into the hiding spot.
We had lots of fun today - thanks becca85

Having a few issues with phone gps (notice that I didn't call it a smartphone!). Had to use geosenses which thankfully were tuned in correctly. Hear that phone...good old common sense beat you!
Road in didn't suit the car as there was a tricky puddle/mudbath/divot combo so parked nearby and walked in. The only reason I stayed for ages was because the history boards were interesting. Thanks so much for bringing me here.

TFTC. Thanks for bringing us out here. Geocaching and history are a great mix. A quick find gave us time to read the information boards.
This is one of the caches we found, among the history lessons and interesting scenery, as we returned to Creswick, after the "9 Months to the Event in Alexandra" lunch in Wedderburn.
Apologies for such delayed and generic logs, we have experienced a severe computer malfunction.
Thanks becca85 for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Once I saw where the cache was hidden, I got worried. I needn't have been and it was good to appreciate the nearby structure, thanks becca85.
I think that this was the last of a number of your caches that I have done this weekend becca85 - I have enjoyed them, thanks.

Suscoe was up and about early today.
Another beaut Summer's day with an eventual top temp of 30 degrees in the North Central Highlands.
We were heading homewards via a few caches which we had on our list.
Thanks to becca85 for this hide.
Well we were spoilt for old buildings on our way here, first we spotted the church, then we spotted that remarkable school building, how good was that!!!!!!
Then this historical location for the Grand Duke.
We were pleased to make our way out here.

A quick find here and then we spent some time reading the info boards. Another interesting place we wouldn't have come to if not for caching. Thanks for the hide.
What a fascinating ruin left from the gold rush era. Its hard to imagine Timor being a thriving township of 27,000 odd in its heyday! While MrT searched , found and signed the log, I took some photos of the arch before heading off for the next cache.
Thanks becca85 for showing us this bit of history.

Lots of flies...and mozzies today. Luckily Motndarg spied the cache fairly quickly. We signed the log and we were out of there!!! Very interesting piece of history, loved the arches. Thanks becca85.
Checked out this piece of history some years ago, well before caching days. Today with McLookers , we drove in and were immediately engulfed with mozzies, so were pleased that the cache was a quick find.. Great camo. A favourite is given.

I love seeing history like this. It would have been impressive seeing the old pump going in its day. I now know why they used stone instead of brick to bear the massive weight of the machine. Thanks for showing us this place Becca85.

Caching with the kids in and around Timor today with becca85 and kids as our guides. What a great spot of history here - had to take a pic of kids in front of the arch - very cool. Thanks for highlighting a fab part of history
Catching up with some late logs, therefore this unfortunately is going to be one of 'those logs'. I apologize in advance for the generic log, A combination of limited time and too many to log dictates that a generic log is best. I have enjoyed the hunt and being outdoors in this great country of ours, partaking in a pastime that I thoroughly enjoy. I usually head out by myself, but I thank those that have had the misfortune of my company in some of these ventures.
Thanks becca85 for placing this cache.
