Logs
Spent two days here and was lovely exploring the beach and the rocks lots of birdlife. Enjoyed seeing the caves/archers at the southern end of the beach
we came into the bay at ten at night when it was pitch black. couldnt find the hut, but the waypoint on this geocache pointed us in the right direction and we got there in the end.
Day #10/11 of my Stewart island adventure..doing the northwest and the southern circuit.
Taking a rest day at the hut and after yesterday's big day and tomorrows even bigger I was ready for it..also I wanted to do a bit of fishing and a group of hunters camped by the stream pointed me in the right direction..
Found the "scattered" pomace stones by the tree after reinterpreting the hint..but no cache only some discarded fishing rubbish..(which I cito) ..expanded my search but no other pomace or cache in the area...I was able to recycle some of the trash and put down a temporary fix a bit further back away from the bones that were also close to gz..hint still applies..
As this is only a temp fix if the next cacher brings a better container that would save the Co a trip..
Cleaned container the best I could but I wouldn't go sniffing it for long...lol..
Will delete log if not ok with the Co..

After a fast trip yesterday, I am visiting the Doughboy Bay Hut to drop or pay a visit for a trackable - Connie Covid 19. Will not stay long.
Found it with "FrenchSuperTrampNiko" on our hiking on Stewart Island.... Bonus round after Te Arora trail
TFTC!
TFTC!
FTF and it was only an accidental find when I was out trying to find firewood with JimmyNZ, and saw the pumice stacked in an obviously out of place manner. When we got back to the hotel after completing the NW and S circuits, i checked online to see if this had been published since we were out, it hadnt been, so I put it down to a tramper placing a cache and being rejected by the reviewers for not being able prove they can maintain it. Signed the log and forgot about it, until now. But am interested in how the CO will manage to maintain all these, does he live on the island??
{FTF} with Greenslime. Was out getting firewood with Greenslime and she very observantly noticed a pile of pumice at the base of a tree. We were very very surprised to find an un-published (at the time) cache here since we'd made it a mission to do all 13 published caches on the Island while we were on our 14 day tramp around the NW and S circuits. Oh now i am cursing that we didn't know they were there, we could have snagged them all on our way around.
