found on our trip around the southern circuit. the hut was surprisingly full this night! thanks!
Nice Easy find - one day left on our tramp out from Port Pegasus over the Tin Range, Cache was in ok condition (slightly damp but no issues)
Day #12 of my Stewart island adventure..doing the northwest and the southern circuit.
Well today was a bit hit and miss as it poured down through the night and I was in two minds whether to carry on or head back the way I came also had been told the track up and over dough hill was nasty..
Well relatively clear skies in the morning with a strong southerly to add to the fun..
Turns out the track wasnt that bad and I found it easier than Adam's hill..turned into a 6hr 1/2 hour day plenty of boys to negotiate..
Two other tramper at the hut so while they occupied themselves I went out for "firewood" cache was a nice quick find all in good order..

Came over the Tin Range, having an afternoon here drying gear . Stunning sunny weather much of the time. Tftc
Exactly as described. Found after a 3 day tramp over the Tin Range from Diprose Bay near South Pegasus. Cold wet and cloudy on the tops. Great to get a fire going in the hut and dry out the wet gear. Many thanks to DOC for maintaining these huts and wilderness areas. And to the CO - FP given.
Found it with "FrenchSuperTrampNiko" on our hiking on Stewart Island.... Bonus round after Te Arora trail

Took the low level route at low tide to come from Freds Camp but worked out that waling on seagrass is slow going. After a slog through the mudflats and then the mud on the track, a few laps of the relevant tree was rewarded with a blank log sheet. TFTC
