Originally this cache was located waste deep in a huge truck tyre. Leaf litter has meant the tyre is full and the challenge has gone. Sadly it’s time to retire this one.
Found this one on the ground and open, lid is a bit broken. Needs some maintenance but we closed it back up as best we could and put it nearby
Stretching our legs as we make our way North today in search of some winter sun and Vitamin Sea. Swapped out of the socks and slides into runners for this one. The junior Ez catchers were impressed with the tyres.
Container has 3 broken clips, however contents were only slightly damp. Log signed and back through the wet grass.

# 5999 Found on the last day of our Murray Kayak trip. We found a few around Albury/Wadonga before heading back to Canberra in our own time. And thus another geo-adventure comes to a close.
Wow, this a a big tyre.
Thanks joeylovestreasure

We felt the need to go on a cache run, so we looked our area and made a plan.
Cache found in the obvious spot, signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, joeylovestreasure, for us and others to find.

Cache was found rather easily. Though the container has seen better days and could do with a replacement on the next maintenance visit. Thanks for the find.
Quick find while having a short break located, signed and returned the cache where found. All is in order, TFTC!
I heard that tyres have long memories, and often go to the same place to die. But they'd rather stay hidden away in their trunks. Or something like that, it sounded better in my head when I was wondering around here. Nice different type of GZ, soon had CIH, signed log and replaced as found. TFTC!
Very snakey here, I really wish I hadn’t been wearing shorts and thongs. Nice and quick, it was always going to be there. Thanks!
Driving from Wangaratta towards Sydney. Needed a break. This truck stop was convenient for a kilometre of walking followed by morning tea, using a thermos. TFTC
Find 3327 on 4 July 2019
Found on our way north to OzGeomuster @ The Gong. A huge day for us. 633k yet only 10 caches. A good time had by all.

Find Number 1987 found at 11:13. This was the 4th find of 11 finds and 2 DNF's today
I'm slowly heading up to my 2000th cache, which I want to find on my next overseas trip. We usually travel this route too quickly to stop for caches, but today we allowed extra time.
As I approached GZ, the location seemed obvious and there was the cache.
The cache was in good condition. We signed the log (sometimes we sign micro logs with G&T or GT) and replaced the container as found
Thanks joeylovestreasure for the cache.

Wow, this is certainly a big tyre graveyard. Aussie M & M from the JAM trio did the controlled dive to get to this cache.
Glad I didn't fall in as it was a deep dive required to retrieve the cache. Also glad the girls were not filming my less than graceful retrieval technique.

We are on our way to Canberra for the Mega event and this was day 3 heading from Wodonga to Canberra stopping for a few caches along the way with three of us caching as JAM (JJ52, Aussie M&M and mogni) [^]
We stopped here to find the nearby puzzle and ended up with 2 trads as well, happy with that.
Thanks for the cache joeylovestreasure.

Out with JJ52 and Aussie M & M for a huge day 3 of travel to the Mega near Canberra. We are caching as JAM to save taking up space in all the caches we find. Todays leg was Wodonga to the Mega. Another glorious day for travelling and much fun and laughter was had. The ladder was well used and no injuries were had.
Thanks to joeylovestreasure from mogni

A quick find of this one in a likely spot. That would have been a bugger to get off! TFTC
A couple of caches to break up the trip back to Canberra from a lovely short visit to Beechworth with my darling wife.
Yep, a couple of pretty serious tyres have found their final resting stop here. Probably not the best or most legal spot for them, but oh well. Cache found very easily and retrieved pretty much as easily. TFTC

Today was time to return home from a weeks Golf on the Murray.
While getting fuel and a coffee we solved one that just happened to take us past this one. After finishing that, it was time to get this one. Located the cache and signed the log.
Visited trackables.

The last cache in the area to be found, found container floating in water, signed log and replaced out of the water. Thanks to joeylovestreasure
With another day free, I decided on heading out to collect more caches and hopefully receive another souvenir from the current promotion. I decided on doing the loop that goes: Wagga to Kyeamba to Tarcutta and back to Wagga via Borambola. Out a possible 26 finds, I found 24 of them. It was a nice drive along the country roads and I visited many places I wouldn’t have visited otherwise. The trip from Wagga to Kyeamba had a couple of GCA finds and the first half of the W2T/T2W trail created by Roostaman. The next bit of the trip (Kyeamba to Tarcutta) were a lot of park and grabs along the highway. After a nice lunch, at ‘Joes Café’ in Tarcutta, it was time for the final part of the trip was around the back roads of Borambola and finishing with WWBridge#6. This means I only have the final cache in the Wagga bridge series to go. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s for placing and maintaining the caches I found and allowing them to bring enjoyment to me and others. TFTC’s
Today’s Totals:
20 GC Finds
4 GCA Finds
2 DNF
After completing the first half of the W2T/T2W trail I headed to this little truck stop to make 3 quick finds. This was the second of the 3. Yes, it is a bit of a tyre graveyard I walked though it to head for the third cache at this rest area. TFTC

This cache made me tyred in a big way. Cache has seen better days and can do with some love. Tftc tnln
gz was soon spotted. unfortunately the cache container was open and looked quite dirty inside. but the log was still there (on the ground outside the box). i put it back together. TFTC!
#3291 Second cache collected at this wayside stop. A rather large tyre specimen discarded here. Was this tyre from a machine used in the construction of the freeway? The cache was soon spotted and Mr BGF stretched to gather it in. Thanks again joeylovestreasure, replaced as found.

This was a nice spot for a cache and a rather large tyre. It must have taken quite some effort to get it over there.
I am surprised no one has claimed these things they are actually worth a bit of money. Fun cache though
This was a great leg stretch for us on our way to the Lake Macquarie OZGeoMuster, as there were three caches to find. Found in the company of GoodLook and Micaparamedic, with Chunk doing the honours for this one. TFTC joeylovestreasure.
WOW, that was a BIG tyre!!!
What a nice little get away.....I needed some R&R and so decided to head across the border from SA to Victoria and then NSW to attend the OzGeoMuster Mega with friends.
I mainly hung out with the lovely micaparamedic and the fabulous ChooknChunk and I also enjoyed many happy moments with others.
Some of the stand out moments included: camping in Belanglo State Forest and doing a night cache at 1am; 4wding and having water over the car bonnet; sitting around and chatting/chilling; sleeping loads; relaxing continuously and then watching some fab fireworks (thanks Team Crackers), and all in all a much needed break. Gary and I slowly made our way back to Bendigo before heading back to Adelaide.
Thanks so much for the cache joeylovestreasure!

Each year I follow the Aust Solo Speedway Championships which are held over four meetings. This year those meetings are at Kurri Kurri nsw, Undera vic, Mildura vic, and Gillman sa.
It only seems sensible to do some geocaching along the way. It helps to break the driving and I get a lot of enjoyment from it.
Please excuse this generic log as there are too many to do them individually, but I certainly appreciate the dedicated work of all the COs in providing us with this great hobby.

Headed down to Victoria with steeba and Hoojar to be part of the 3rd Victorian Mega celebrations in Alexandra. Our 3-day leave pass ensured we’d be constantly on the go! From 300 finds in the Mt Disappointment area to 10 different cache types there was never a dull moment.
This was day 3 of our road trip and it was time to head for home but not before we bagged a few more caches around Wangarratta and then some highway finds.
Thanks to all the cache owners who contributed to a great 3 days caching with my fellow caching buddies. My apologies about the template style log, it certainly doesn’t detract from the thrill of the ‘find”.

Found as part of a few days away with my great caching mates The Rats and Hoojar. Our main aim was the Mega event in Alexandra but we managed to find most of the Mt Disappointment series, did 9 or 10 cache types in a day (side trip to Mt Buller and then Melbourne CBD). Some great laughs, camping under the stars, a nicely organised Mega and some great wildlife (koala and echidnas ). TFTC!
The idea of going down to Victoria and to the Alexandra Mega was original floated by Steeba. Normally Megas are not something that I am super keen to attend, but the opportunity of also collect some serious numbers on the Mount Disappointment caching trail, and finding some Lab Caches really helped to sweetened the deal. I was in, along with my long time caching buddies Steeba and The Rats.
We left Wollongong at 8pm on Thursday evening, returning at 5pm on Sunday, 2,500km and over 400 cache finds later. With less than a handful of DNFs, a wonderful result!
Highlights of the trip included:
- Finding over 330 caches on Friday, the entire Mount Disappointment trail;
- Finding ten unique cache types on Saturday, which included a drive to both Mount Buller for a Web Cam, and then back for a late night Melbourne CBD visit for a Virtual;
- Meeting up with a few local Wollongong cachers in Alexandra;
- Setting two new personal records, for my most cache finds and cache types in a day;
- The always good company and banter of Steeba and The Rats;
- Seeing six echidnas, and a koala (my first sighting of a koala on the ground in the wild); and
- The absolute highlight of the trip was watching Sir The Rats be inducted into the Australia Geocaching Hall of Fame (or maybe the jokes that Steeba and I had over the weekend over the honour!).
Thanks to all of the cachers that hid caches for us to find over our short trip away. I have little doubt in thinking that we will be back to these parts again at some stage to find more caches!
Cheers

While heading to Canberra for the Mega lead up event plus a couple of others and a few other missions along the way, I headed along the Hume, I made a few stops here and there.
There is certainly a few old tyres littering the area and there is certainly a big range in sizes.

Day 1 of our road trip to Central NSW and what is a road trip without some caches along the way. We stopped here for another driver change and to pick up the two caches at this wayside stop. After finding our way through the many spiders webs, which all had quite large spiders on them, we made it to GZ and it was then a quick easy find. TFTC. TNLN.

Most caches I found were really nice and in good condition, thanks to all the CO for putting them out there! The start of our holidays and BettyBoo3747 and I headed for Queanbeyan.
A lovely day to be on the road and we picked up a few caches as we travelled.
The cache had about a few thousand guardians when I went to grab it today - I kept my mouth shut!
Interesting sized tyre, but a bit big for the go cart I think.
Thanks, Robmc.
