Two Finns backpacking and enjoying life. Our travels continued from Australia to New Zealand and arrived to Auckland two days ago! Today we visited the Art gallery and logged few caches on our way. This one was found easily, thank you!
During the afternoon after returning from Devonport we had a short rest at the hotel and then I went alone for a walk to catch some caches more that were close enough to our hotel. This was a nice one, I like library caches and this was easy enough. TFTC
Arrived in NZ this morning. My first time here. Log signed this afternoon. Replaced as found. Very creative. Favorite point awarded. Thanks for placing and maintaining caches.
We still can! Will tell a longer story later. Thanks! The longer story short: some 35 years ago when I was a student some 17000 km away from here I found the 1966 edition of the encyclopedia of New Zealand on the opens shelves of my university library. It turned out to be a fascinating literature which often helped to pass time until the ordered books came from the depositories. And now, 35 or so years later, I have to fulfill a similar task in Auckland. But yes, I still know the old tricks
#4153 Today is day 29 of my geocaching vacation in New Zealand. I'm wandering around Auckland and geocaching.Found it! I circled around the ground floor for a few seconds before I realized I needed to go up to level 1. Quick find after I was on the right floor. gernita, thank you for the cache! -crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on October 29, 2024 @ 17:08:38[GC5V9DV] Fun with GPS was a D2.0/T1.0 Other Multi-cache at the time of finding.
Nice find with the hint. Think the first part to solve more organically isn't available anymore
Waited in the wind tunnel outside for 10 mins while waiting for this establishment to open. Easy find once inside. Very cool cache! Tftc
Up in Auckland for a night This one was on the listSo we walk up to the library in good time to find the wee cacheThanks
ABCDF4 had this one on the List go lets go We walk up to this cache to find it in its wee spotthanks
I think this cache type is my absolute favourite, so since I had a little bit of time to kill before starting work not far from here today, I thought I'd pop in and grab this. This was one of the more straightforward variants of this cache type that I've found, but was conveniently out of sight of the majority of visitors today, so I was able to sign the log and return the cache without raising any suspicions. As you may expect, I've added a favourite point for this cache - long may it exist! TFTC!
I'm now back in NZ, having spent the last couple of months in Europe, and today I'm traveling to pick up my car that friends have been looking after in my absence. This means experiencing the wonder that is the Auckland Transit public transport system. But seeing as I have all day to get to them, and it's a beautiful winter's day with blue skies and a reasonable temperature I figured that I'd have a good wander around Auckland CBD, which is a rare thing for me so there are a good number of caches for me to find.I do like caches like this. It's almost like having the extra thrill of being caught whilst doing something as naughty as scribbling in a Library book lol. No issues to report here and everything was soon back in place after I'd added my name to the log. Thanks for setting this one up. Gets a FP from me.
Had a day off and took the bus into town. The stop was rather close to the library so it was finally time to pop in, sign up to the library and sign the log while there.Hint took me straight to the right location where I spotted a few familiar names
I'm in Auckland for a couple of days visiting my muggle brother, and I managed to get a couple of caches whilst in the area.Took me a little while to find something good to read, then bingo, there it was Thank you, gernita, for this fabulous hide, a favourite point from me.
After visiting the property where my wife spent the first few months of her life & then Eden Park, we split up for me to visit Mount Eden.Following a successful visit there, I caught the bus back into the city to visit Aotea Square for a couple of tasks. This was my next stop & the very clear instructions meant I knew exactly what I needed to do here. The area was very busy but I soon tracked down what I was looking for & as I signed in, I noticed that this had been found earlier today. Having completed the paperwork, everything was carefully replaced as found.Found at 16:05Cache #10391TFTC gernita
In Auckland for a conference and thought we'd do a spot of caching. First time I've done one like this and wonder if there's any similar in Darwin (Australia). TFTC gernita
After an event today we all wandered over to this cache. It has been a long time since I was in a library with friends and had to be reminded to quiten down.Cache was found quicky and signed. Thank you for the placement
Fun with group after the event. Thanks and funny that cachers are louder than the muggle patrons.
Ah I love these! Well done. This was a lot of fun. I appreciate the effort and coordination that goes into these kinds of caches. We found it right away then spent some time nosing around. FP awarded.

#14,566. I am up in the Auckland for the week and have a meeting in the central city early in the morning so booked to stay in a hotel so I wouldn't need to fight the traffic early in the day. I caught a bus and got off only to discover I was outside the central library. Had seen there was a multi here but thought I would not get a chance to visit. So headed inside and after a circuit around and up escalators I ended up by some numbers that looked very promising. Checked the hint once more and yep there is that number in front of me. Sweet. Have done a few library caches and always find them to be a fun way to hide a cache. Signed the book which of course was nice and dry. Thanks gernita for the cache.
Such a lovely Geocache idea! Our first day in NZ, visiting from Kent, UK. Thanks for hiding!
Hello from Seattle! After an amazing trip along the southern coast of Australia heading from Sydney to Adelaide to attend a Mega-Event with my fellow Lackey and best Geobuddy Giacaches, we headed over to New Zealand for a week of caching and adventure - as I often say, we've never been closer, so it made perfect sense to plan for a stop. We have a loop around the North Island on the schedule, and I'm so excited to see all the things there is to see!Today we wrapped up the coast on the way to Auckland and found all kinds of caches as well as getting on the water - every day on this trip is just 10/10. I love hiding locations like this, so this was an easy add-on to the day. We found it with no trouble! Thanks so much for adding to this amazing trip!
Greetings from Seattle! I traveled down under with jtcoffee to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-Event in Adelaide on Leap Day. Of course, a trip from Seattle to Australia just wouldn't be complete without a detour through New Zealand Per usual, We're squeezing in as many extra activities as we can, including, but not limited to: Logging our geocache finds in the southern hemisphere Finding Australia's oldest, [GC3E](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3E) at Lane Cove, and the first-ever Earthcache, [GCHFT2](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCHFT2) Enjoying the spectacle of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Sydney Cruising along the scenic Great Ocean Road Completing a challenge that requires finding 31 Earthcaches and 31 Virtuals in 31 days ([GC32TBZ](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC32TBZ) and [GC32TC2](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC32TC2)) Finding the oldest cache placed outside of the US, [GC46](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC46) Exploring the iconic Lord of the Rings filming locations across New Zealand It's our last full day here and I'm glad to spend it caching around Auckland! I've got a few library caches so it was really fun to find one so far from home. Additionally, I'm working to fill my multicache calendar and while I know it'll be a multi-year endeavor, each find I can make on an open date helps my future self. Thanks for bringing us here and contributing to our epic adventure!
This was a quick find, other than the fact I was not sure what floor I was on in the library on entering (I live where you can enter off the street onto level 8 etc)and the lovely librarian was more confused by my confusion, love there's only one reason I'd visit a library
Thank you for the multi. And so this discovery also put a smart grin on my face and one more happy smiley on my map!PS: To save space in the logbooks, we don't always log at the chronological end, but also use free spaces in the front pages in an owner-friendly manner. We would like to say a big thank you for the fun and work of the owner!
It's our last day in NZ after 3 weeks of adventures.Staying at the airport we took an Uber in to Auckland for a look around and or course a last min bit of caching. All caches found or completed with no problems and thank you to all COs for placingRunning short on time, going to make this the last of the holiday, great one to finish on even if it did take a bit of hunting down Thanks everyone

Danke an gernita fr diesen Cach.
Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today we had the whole day to geocach in Auckland.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndyThis log entry is translated with the help of Google.

# 21454Whau, I am on a three week trip with Cacher-Reisen and a bunch of fellow geocachers to Australia and New Zealand. It is so odd to imagine that I am going to visit a place that is nearly on the opposite of the globe from my usual hangouts. In Denmark it is late winter/early spring, and I am exchanging the winter-part for late summer in Australia and early autumn in New Zealand. This is so exciting. The itinerary is Frankfurt (Germany), Doha (Qatar), Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns (Australia) and Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Cromwell, Queenstown (New Zealand) before flying back to Europe. That will be two new continents and three new countries for me - and as far away from home as I have ever been. It is a lot of places and travelling, but we also have a plan to find lots of geocaches and see the sights and beautiful nature. After a week in Australia visiting Sydney, Melbourne and Cairns we set sail for New Zealand and a new way to explore the world downunder. Kia Ora. This is also closer to the antipode of my home. For this part of the trip we will be going by bus, and that way we will get to see more of the country and the beautiful nature here. I have looked forward to visiting New Zealand and all the things and caches we have planned her, and I enjoyed the stay and hope to be back some day to see more of this beautiful country. After settling in at the hotel we quickly headed outside again to find some geocaches. We worked our way around the city with adventure labcaches, virtuals and along the way we also passed by here. We had to ask for some startup info, and after a few minutes we found the right level, area and location. Nice, chalk up one multi in New Zealand.Tak for cachen til gernita.

Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences.
After checking out Aotea Square, we wandered over here, did what we expected was required and quickly spotted the well placed cache. Nice job. We L always enjoy these types of hides! Thanks for the cache!
Been wanting to come here ever since I saw this one on Seven Sharp . So much fun to do. Thanks.Favourite point.
Today we spent a day in Auckland including a visit of the Sky Tower and we shopped some gifts for the family Of course there was also some time for caches in the city We love caches in such sites and it was already the 4th cache of this kind we did in NZ This time we had no issues to find the right section and then we had the cache. We leave a blue heart for the fun we had. Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cache.Happy hunting!TFTCschnuckel1[#24302]
Indeed the most fun you can have with a GPS.Knew what needed to be done here, and so after a quick search find the right GZ, cache was mine and it was off away from the muggles to signThanks!
Greetings, gernita! MrMogger and I are back in Auckland (last trip was 30 January 2019) getting ready to fly over to Papeete Tahiti to board a cruise ship in a couple of days. After flying from South Carolina to Dallas Ft. Worth, then to Los Angeles and finally AKL, we stopped here. We completely missed January 31! We have one very similar to this that highlights a Boy Scouts Eagle project. This one gets a favorite point. Why do we call ourselves unimoggers? Because we own a dilapidated model 411 Unimog, 1964 version.Weather in Auckland: 76F, sunny with a nice breeze Footwear: Sneakers Equipment: walking Took nothing but pictures, left nothing, signed log and posted pictures, plus were having our traveling TB, some other TBs, and our Prague backpack visit this cache, T4T$;-)Last found: February 1, 2024Maps: Cachlys Google Standard Maps Cache condition: GreatAnimals besides birds and other flying objects seen on the way to this cache: none, really Thanks, gernita, for placing Fun with GPS, a Multi-Cache cache. This was unimoggers cache find #23305 @ 12:13:09 PM GMT+13 today. Famous quotes from MiniMoggerI I dont know, mom. Im just a YouTube mechanic. Famous quotes from MiniMoggerII Oh, mom. Youre so silly. We take pictures of every cache we find just for the memories. We never post a picture of the geocache, unless it needs assistance or its obvious what or where it is, but we try to remember to post a picture of the log plus a screenshot indicating our distance from the cache. Happy Trails! MrsMogger and MrMogger

# #7,214 #----------This one looked really good and thankfully I had an hour before the venue closed so I was able to get in and find this one with no problems what so ever. It was a fun look around for a good creative hide. Favourite point awarded. TFTC!!! ----------> All geocaches are signed as mmmPIZZA or mPZ
This one took me a while. I think it is the Jetlag. Ive done many of these in New York City, and other places. This was a little different, but very fun. Took me a while to put my hands on it, but then there was, so obvious. Thanks Thanks for placing. Favorite point.
my second library cache after the first one in Napier. it's really a nice idea and an amazing place: 3D prints were amazing. thank you to bring me there!
Library caches are always fun. Arrived shortly before opening and noticed quite a crowd waiting. Aucklanders must really be into reading! Then noticed the suitcases and sleeping bags. Obviously a good place to use the facilities and keep warm. But I digress. Very enjoyable cache. TFTC & FP.
Our third library find in NZ. It was tipping it down outside so it seemed a good place to hide. TFTC
This the first cache of our trip in New Zealand. On to the next of our trip in this beautiful country. Tftc.
Gevonden tijdens onze eerste dag in Nieuw Zeeland. Een dagje Auckland voordat we verder trekken. TFTC
#10520:Day 182. Today, me and Laura headed to the library to sign up for some library cards, take some books out, and find a geocache along the way.We very quickly homed in on where the cache was hidden, and I felt surprised when I picked it up and inspected. What a neat little thing! This was my first library cache, and it was awesome! Very cute, indeed. Have a favourite point. TFTC.
We found this cache in Auckland at Port #1 of our New Zealand Cruise Tour. We have a few of these types of hides back in our neck of the woods and they are always a joy to find. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Heute hatten wir Fun with GPS.
We are visiting from Arizona and arrived just as the library was opening, made our way upstairs and quickly found what we needed. Thanks for the fun adventure s/l M&D
Out looking for some more smileys. Started the day with some studies here. Thank you for the cache!
Last time I visited the cache, which was supposed to be in a different section from where it is now, had gone missing - thanks for replacing.
I was alerted to the TV appearance of reference to the cache by someone I knew whose daughter is a cacher.
A visit to the cache was a must as soon as I visited Auckland again and this is happening this week.
No trouble finding it although it was slightly out of sequence.
A favorite point of course!

In the city with Vistra attending a geocaching event in Aotea Square. After the meet and greet, I took the opportunity to pop into library to find this cache. Lots of fun finding this one. A FP given. Tftc
Found with some NZ friends after the event today in Auckland. Thanks for the fun!
Yvettetb and I are down in Auckland again for a geocaching weekend. We had a great day today at the event then collected all the different types needed for the souvenir around Auckland. That was a sucessful outing and although rain constantly threatened it only spat on us occasionally.
The forecast for Sunday wasn't much better. As luck would have it we had another dry and productive day. We even managed to get 5 ftfs in Whangarei to finish our weekend off.
Yvette did the Park and Run in Cornwall Park this morning so I wandered around there geocaching while she did that. It was then off to the nearby event. It was nice to catch up with fellow geocachers there and my muggle son who's at Uni this year who lives just 5 mins walk away. We then went as a group to this multi which I've been wanting for some time. A neat hide. Thanks for the well themed library cache

Picked this one up with other cachers after Crunchyfrogs Meet and Greet in Aotea Square. Fun to try and be discreet in the library - even better to find the log and sign it. Thanks for the placement
After the nearby event a few of us came across to the library. It didn't take long to find the book, then we all whispered quietly whilst we defaced a book!! I wonder if the library noticed how many people were suddenly interested in this one section.
As we were in the city for Crunchyfrogs Event at Aotea Square it provided a great opportunity to pop down the road and find this fabulous cache.
It was an easy to find cache that obviously took a lot of time and effort to construct. Thanks for this awesome cache.

With some apprehension, I return and begin to question myself. But in the end, all it takes is a little thought and a few minutes of searching to find the beautiful logbook. Very nice cache, just the way we like it.
