Out with rattll on a warm, humid morning. Having solved this some time ago, it was a good opportunity for both of us to find it. We approached from the top, up the main drive, which was possibly a mistake as the slope was steep and slippery. Even with the hint, it took us about 20 minutes to find, but rattll finally had it. Log quite damp, so the signature is hard to read. Headed back out along the bottom, which would have been a much easier approach! Tftc!

I'd solved this a long time ago, and kept meaning to pick it up but somehow it never happened. This time I was here with matagouri and had plenty of time so headed to GZ.It took a lot of searching around before I finally spotted it, and as I was fairly precariously balanced, didn't pause to touch and engage with the nearest tree. I tossed the container down to matagouri to complete the formalities. I've been to yarrow stadium many times when the Chiefs have played here, or Waikato's been playing Taranaki. Thanks for setting this up.

Sent Mr P ahead and gave him some gentle suggestions where to look success. we then tried some rigby ball passes to get the lig signed returned and rehidden

Had to get one last cache before leaving New Plymouth and this was decided to be the one as it wasn’t too far from where we were staying and I had solved it before leaving home. We approached from above and found it very slippery after the overnight rain. Managed to stay upright and found the cache after a short but careful trodden search.
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.
Greetings from Dunedin!
Thanks for the cache, BenandJen69

Nice to get this info from the puzzle. Maybe not the best idea to come here early in the morning when all is muddy. Wink but hey, we survived and got the cache.

Had this one solved a long time ago and found just after lock down but never logged it, I seen it in my solved list and was in the area so We stopped by and then it clicked that we had already found it.
Sorry for the late log Ben.

Down in the Naki for a few days so we are picking up a few yellow smileys. I solved a few puzzles before we came down, so am enjoying finding them now. This one was not an easy park and grab and took around 20 minutes to find, but it really shouldn't have taken that long as it's quite easy in the end. The hint and previous logs helped - just don't spend time looking too low cause it's not down there!! TFTC Smile

It was too good of a day to pass up the opportunity of taking the kids on a boring family Sunday drive on the last day of the school holidays. I asked muggle hubby if we could stop in here and help me search for this previous DNF of mine....(note previous log of finding stolen property here last time, handed it into police and never heard back so I’m sure it’s home again with its rightful owner)
Anyway we searched for a few minutes and after re reading hint hubby interpreted it another way and Bingo! There it was. Log is full and needs replacing. Thanks for the fun puzzle

20-Jul-20
Found this time with the help of dad but it was mum who made the find in the end....I was too busy looking for more stolen property....TFTC

another puzzle done, and another find made thanks for the smiley

Didn’t find the cache today but did find some stolen property that’ll I’ll be handing into the police.
Will be back for another look soon.

The puzzle was straightforward, but finding the cache took a little longer. We came in from Clawton St and made the mistake of going high rather than low. Once at the correct location it still took a wee while, and the cache was higher than we expected. TFTC

#11,675. A straightforward puzzle based in Rugby Park in Westown, New Plymouth. Entered from Clawton Street. Final GZ was all quiet at the time of the visit. Found after a short search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Thanks for the puzzle and placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

My boys have just started rugby and it's funny to watch them do their line outs and scrums! A wee bit slippery here (eh KR) after the rain of last night.

Up here for an awesome weekend jaunt with TheWanglers, Karma Reprint and Team Gators to do a loop of the mountain in 48 hours grabbing as many caches as we could while having a good laugh. Logs signed as some derivative of (KT)^2

Cheers BenandJen69 for the cache

A planned geocaching trip to the USA was shelved (but is all go for this time next year!) so we came up with a weekends Plan B. Taranaki with TheWanglers, KarmaReprint and KiwiMoose - logs signed (TK)^2 or a variation of. A really fun trip with the forecast rain and thunder seemingly always in the distance but never hindering us. A really fun weekend.
Day 3 New Plymouth to Christchurch via a few hours in Auckland!
Brilliant thunderstorm shattering the nights sleep. But the day dawned fine. A morning caching in NP before our lunchtime flight to Auckland.
Approached from high ground and made our search slowly downwards...slip slidey after the overnight rain...KR took a tumble but all good. Cache soon in hand. Cheers.

Day three New Plymouth to Christchurch, via Auckland.

Nice thunderstorm last night. Lucky for us the day started out mostly dry! Find quickly made, though not without some fresh scratches as I tumbled down the slippery bank. Cheers

A long weekend cache raid to Taranaki. The weather didn't stop us doing anything, and we had fun times. Logs were signed with a combination of KT and 2 depending one which of did the signing. Thanks Kiwi Moose, Team_Gaters and TheWanglers for a choice time.

Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

A plan was hatched for a few of us to head to America for a Mad Mission. With life getting a bit crazy a downsized trip was organised as I had sorted childcare for the cachelets. The big America trip is now set for next year. We asked a member of our crew if we could go to Nelson, Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington, Hastings the answer all came back "I don't have many to find there". We left it to that member to suggest an area. He came up with New Plymouth and a loop around the mountain. That's a go from the rest of us. We sorted puzzles, gpxs, motels and a car and hit the ground running. The forecast was doom, gloom, rain, hail and lightning. Oh well, sounds exciting. We had very little of any of the weather that affected our caching and found we had all overpacked (thank God!).
Day 3: We headed out after an enormous thunderstorm last night to a lovely morning to do a few more around NP before returning the car and head to Auckland for a few hours to do the Crayola series. Our morning in NP was a bit tough due to a few DNFs. The Auckland leg was fantastic we gave the poor wee Yaris a good go cruising around the countryside. We got back to the airport in plenty of time to end up waiting for and hour or so due to the inclement weather around the country.
Bit slippery, but we scored in the end.

Thanks for the cache BenandJen69.

Was in New Plymouth for work and after arriving in and checking into my accommodation I decided that it was time to contact Phronimos and TaraTed as I had made prior arrangement to go and have dinner with them. We decided that we would go and have dinner at Westown at the local pub as the other place that we wanted to go to was busy, after having dinner I decided to check my GPSr and soon realised that there was a cache not too far from where we were. I had managed to solve this puzzle cache way back in early 2016, but had never got around to picking it up.

Phronimos and TaraTed convinced me that since we were in the area it would be a shame not to go and check out this cache, also since I had mentioned it to them that I had tried looking for this cache when I was here on a prior visit and had failed big time [xx(]Surprised.

The walk to GZ was quite pleasant as the evening was still quite long and the sun was still in the air for a bit longer, as we neared GZ, it was starting to look familiar, and it was just a matter of getting down to GZ, we all started looking at spots that we thought that the cache may be and suddenly to my amazement I soon spotted something and it was the cache, I am sure that I searched this area thoroughly last time I looked here, I must have being blind, was glad that I managed to find it.

Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks Benny2015 for placing this puzzle cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (14106). Was glad that I managed to find the cache before the locals, otherwise I would have not being able to hear the end of it. The cache and logbook was in very good order even though it hadnt being found for some time.

After replacing the cache, it was just a matter of making our way back up the bank and then it was just a short walk back to our cars, well kind of short walk, but it was a pleasant walk to help with working off some of the dinner.

Solved this puzzle a few months ago in preparation for our trip to New Plymouth. GZ proved quite difficult to search - both hilly and slippery.
Spent about 10 minutes looking and then decided to move on to something a bit easier, thanks though for the enjoyable puzzle.

rustynz tells me I need to catch up with all my logging!

A 3 day weekend of fun with a group of Westies (rustynz, gorby, jag58 & merlot58)

Sorry for the generic logs. Thanks to all the CO for the hides, and the adventure

We solved this puzzle before heading South with a group of fellow cachers from West Auckland (Merlot58, RustyNZ, Rebel98 and Gorby). As we are not locals, it took a while to find the right approach to this one. At GZ we spread out to search for the cache, and with many eyes it wasn't long before Mrs JAG50 had the cache in hand.

20-Aug-17
I was visiting New Plymouth for the weekend with a few other Westies from Auckland. A nice easy puzzle to solve though as we weren't local we took a bit to find the best way to the cache without having a fence in the way. At gz, we spread out a bit, some of us way to high up the slippery bank before Mrs Jag made the find

20-Aug-17
Found the required information a few weeks ago. Today we hopefully got to find the cache Big Grin

Arrived at GZ, a bit of a drive around as we wanted to find the best spot. Then a clamber up the hill (just because we could!).

Once at GZ it was a matter of spreading out, trying to make sense of the hint, I think Mrs Jag50 found it this time, and the log was soon being signed.

Thanks for the puzzle and the hide, signed Team Westies (merlot58, rustynz, rebel98, Jag50 and Gorby)

Solved a while ago and waiting for the right time to go looking, all good tonight, no one around. Gosh a lot of targets to check, but within about 10 mins cache was in hand. Nice and dry, double container seems a bit of overkill but that's OK. This one is a wrap. Mission accomplished TFTC! Smile Blenheim Bear

Finally found this one. I had been here a couple of times previously, but had been put off searching thoroughly by various muggle activity.

Tonight being a day without any finds ever, I thought it would be nice to continue the holiday streak so the two of us came out for a hunt and found it in about ten minutes. Not quite what we were expecting from the hint, but the coordinates are pretty spot on.

Cache is nice and dry, and the log sheet is nearly full one side. Thanks for the hide.

23-Dec-15
Looked briefly last night but light was too dim. Went back this morning and master 9 found it in minutes. Tftc

10-Oct-15
Worked the puzzle out this morning and when out in town we stopped by and hunted in the trees, came up with it after 5 minutes, tftc.

24-Sep-15
Solving the puzzle was easy enough, but finding the cache proved a bit more tricky. Basically everything at GZ fits the hint, and when we eventually found it our interpretation of the hint proved to be different to the CO's. Thanks.

Only the hard way for us!! It was a game of two halves with geocaching being the winner on the day (mud a close second).
There was mud, inappropriate footwear and a lot of 'play' not near enough to the 'try line'. Finally after a regroup and rev up at half time, we 'scored' by finding it in a fairly obvious tree ( when you approach from the right direction!!)

11-Jul-15
Yep took the hard way! Found it! Cool puzzle hunt! TNLN.

10-Jul-15
Typical rugby weather - freezing cold and damp mud underfoot! The cache had taken a bit of a tumble, so I had to widen my search area a little. Replaced cache securely. TFTC w

It strikes me there are two ways to find this cache... the hard way or the easy way. Fortunately I took the easy way so it was a quick find. TFTC.
