Top vague a clue for the area. Scoured the suspected area as per coords and hint, but no joy. TFTC

Sadly this will have to be a DNF for me. Spent a long time looking around GZ and even checked around every tree several times. Judging by other logs the camo is really good, perhaps I'll have more luck coming back with a fresh set of eyes later.

03-Jun-19
We found the container. It was a good hunt for us. Good hiding spot. Best one we have found yet.

29-Dec-18
Too difficult to get into the bushes

05-Dec-18
OMG.... I can't believe I'm one of the very definite (NOT) elite cachers to have DNF'd this cache! So today I came by for my second attempt while I happened to be building a deck out this way, so popped in after a short day at work.

Things weren't looking good I have to say!! I recognised just about every tree, I could really see another DNF about to happen! Bugger that! So I soon realised I still had the C.O's phone number on my phone so just had to give her a 'I need help' call. Rang Mrs NLF, she recognised me amazingly and I pleaded to her for help! She certainly ruled out a few trees for me, and not long after the call (thanks Leanne) I eventually made the find! I can see now that was very easily missed on my last visit, a very good camoed cache! Nice work there L, a FP from me!

18-Nov-18
A nice stroll from our parking spot. This one didn't take too long to find once we zeroed in on the correct spot. Picked up the TB that was here. Thanks!

Well hidden -might need to wear your gum boots to find this one!

24-May-18
*Very nice* to have a cache dedicated to your Grandma NLF. I too have one dedicated to MY Grandma down in Waihou who passed away many years ago now (GC7E85F). It’s a great way to keep good memories alive!!

I parked up in Kelvin Hart Dr. Had my gumboots on for warmth and to keep dry, started across the bridge and slip.. slip.. slip.. nearly fell over a few times! Please be careful people if you’re approaching this way on the wet bridge, **very slippery**! Got to GZ and I read the description a few times – cache a couple of meters from grass – well, I tried to do this and ended up searching several places either side of GZ, just could not find it, must have been there 15 mins or so I suppose! I will be very embarrassed if it is still there and I just missed it somehow. Never mind, I had fun searching for it and it’s a nice day too. Just 2 more days before I hit my 6000th cache… whoo hoo! Can’t wait.

No go today.

A fantastic day out cacher hunting with the family, cache and log in good condition, thank you for placing the cache

24-Nov-17
Staying with my father nearby. He must live in the same complex as the cache owner's Gran. I came out here for a look shortly after arriving. It was getting a bit dark and took longer than it should have to find.

Great camo!

The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.

Thank you

Cherrys Rule

I actually looked at it and blew it off and did some unnecessary hunting. Lol. Came back spotted again and went doh. Lol. Nice camo. Blends in well. Grab the tb. Tftc

02-Nov-17
A nice find on the way home from work. Great work on the container, and very nice log book. All safe and dry, signed and replaced. I'm sure Gran would have been very happy knowing there's a cache here, and so to her memory, here's an FP. TFTC

17-Jul-17
After a tough week had been needing to get the hell out of Hamilton for a bit and grab a few numbers. So leaving home at 5am with HKCB we had a route all planned and goals in mind we headed for a few caches in south Auckland along with working our way up towards Botany.
When we left home it was dark, when we arrived home it was dark, so all in all not a bad days caching with 52 caches found along the way. There were lots of laughs and solving of the worlds problems along the way, but the one thing neither of us could grasp was how can people bear to live in such a rabbit warren? still that remains a question for the universe.

Thanks to all the cache owners for putting them out and continuing with the maintenance

17-Jul-17
Great camoflage. Very natural. Love the log... the best one I've signed. thank you for the cache.

16-Jul-17
I was invited to head out with C&D on another caching trip, this time to Auckland to focus on the hides in the Dannemora and Flast Bush areas, plus a couple of other cache clusters a bit further South. An early start meant we got the most out of the day with over 50 finds, on a wide range of caches, which varied the day nicely. I myself had no specific plan for the day, bar there were a couple of puzzle caches in the area which I had solved and was hoping to finally claim the smilie for.

All in all another great day out caching, with the weather gods on our side (bar being very wet underfoot in a few parks), some great hides and as usual great company. A big thanks to all the CO's for the placements.

Dropped TB we grabbed earlier for another find.

25-Apr-17
I joined up with Jag50 and Aiden29 for an afternoon of caching in East Auckland. A nice quick find here.

14-Apr-17
It was our 10th wedding anniversary, and as we tend to do, we mark these events with collecting a few caches. This one was on our hit list as we had not had much success with the I Hate Shopping series across the road. Between the I Hate Shopping series and here we had stopped off for an anniversary lunch at Wendy's as it was Good Friday and they were open and served fish.

Anyway, this cache was not far from where Mr. Kiwi's cousin lives, so we knew the area reasonably well. We trundled on up to a location near GZ and got out to walk over to GZ. It was nice crossing the bridge through the bush and over the creek as the sun was drying up the surrounding area. Luckily, the "stormy" weather that we were supposed to have had didn't eventuate and the ground was still rather dry. This made for a non messy trip over towards GZ once we got close.

It didn't take long to spot the cache as it was pretty much out in the open, but due to the clever use of camouflage, your average muggle would probably not have wondered too much about it, but to a trained Geocaching eye, it stood out. The log was retrieved and signed before the cache was replaced in a less conspicuous spot close to where it was found. By this time, Mrs. Liver Bird and LordCacher08 were calling out to say that it was starting to spit, so Mr. Kiwi rejoined them and we all headed back to the car.

27-Sep-16
I was in the area doing my recycling bit for the environment and dropping off excess cardboard to the local dump so thought I'd take the opportunity to grab some local caches... always an excuse Wink Luckily I had Mr 6 with me so ducking into the bushes didn't seem too odd if a muggle were to pass by. Once at GZ a spied something slightly unusual so sent Mr 6 to grab it as he always gets excited making the find. Sure enough it was the cache which he was delighted about... love the camo! TFTC

R was playing football at the nearby Greenmount Reserve and had forgotten his water bottle, so B went back to get it and decided to grab this cache as it was only a slight detour away on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning. Cache was nice and dry and in good condition, love the camo. Tftc

06-Jun-16
We were filling in a bit of time before we could drop cragger and laval home after a day out collecting the smile series with team SEAC, and this cache was nearby. A nice quick find here, however it took a minute or two to pick it up as laval (who had previously found the cache) was saying he knew where it was but didn't believe us as we told him he was kicking it with each step he took. Finally we got it out from under his feet and signed the log. Cool camo. Found with darthcacher1 and purply.

06-Jun-16
Found it while passing time before dropping off some extra passengers after finding the smiles. TFTC. Thanks for the cache NewlynFam. Favourite point given because the co is so cool.

14-Dec-15
Container replaced with one slightly larger- hopefully the camo will stay put this time!!! Happy hunting!!!

14-Dec-15
Approaching GZ I thought "oh no, this is going to take ages to find". Fortunately after diving in it was only a minute or two before the cache was spotted. Retrieved, signed and returned while remaining hidden. Ensured the remaining camo was on top to help it blend in. Thanks for placing a reasonable sized container here.

21-Nov-15
Tftc. I can see a lot of work went into the camo but it is coming apart. Dropped off TB speedy.

16-Jul-15
Out and about after work down South this morning collecting a few hides on my way back home. This was my first stop. Parked up near GZ and made the short walk to the tree line. Decided on a more circular approach which quickly bought me around to the cache for a nice quick find. Grabbed the TB. Cheers for the cache placement!

14-Jul-15
The cache was easy to locate once I spotted a piece of the camo next to the hiding spot. Another piece has also come off so now two are loose. Left Zacman TB. TFTC.

05-Jul-15
Our last one for the afternoon on our way home. Hoping for a quick one but that wasn't to be. Seemed like that was our luck for the day... Spent a few minutes here before this one was located. Probably because of the very nice camo used here. The camo on the lid has come away though and needs to be fixed. Signed log and headed for home. Nice first cache, cheers! Big Grin

This one came out while I was out of town for work, so was not very impressed with that :-p

Was in Dannemora heading home this arvo and remembered that I still hadn't come to get this cache yet, so looked on the map and off I went.

Found GZ easily enough and took a minute of searching then noticed the cache....signed etc.....now the fun part.....I always love this part....A single male hopping out of the bushes!

Working on our completing our calendar matrix this year, and this was one of the days we needed to fill. Popped out here to make this find after some shopping at Botany, in between the showers. Took us a bit of searching about before we finally found the cache, but we eventually got there. Nicely hidden. Smile Well done on your first hide! Thanks for the cache. Smile

Driving home and Mrs NZT rings saying about this cache but we know it's walking distance from Keylev and we didn't stand much of a chance for the ftf. And we didn't actually third to find. Nice hide and good camo. Took a few minutes to find in the dark with my TORCH.

10sec to late to be FTF but 2nd good enough for me gotta love that adrenaline rush....

20-May-15
Was feeding the kids dinner when I heard the geocaching sound on my phone. A quick glance told me it was only 0.58km away...well there was no way I was going to miss out!! Into the car in record speed and called other half to let him know so he didn't wonder why we had left the house in such a rush. Cunningly he continued talking long enough for me to miss my turning...argh. Unbeknownst to me he was passing right there on his way home and though he would have a look on his own!!

Oh well finally navigated the back streets of this area that I have never quite got my head around, got to GZ and spotted his torch immediately but he had not made the find as yet. Had a quick poke around and the cache was in hand in record time with of course a blank log. A friendly face popped through the trees - sorry Biartch79.

Thanks for the cache. Well done on the camo and your first hide - I look forward to more!
