It was a great cache, and I really enjoyed doing it.

24/7/19
After being shot down behind enemy lines on the 24/7, sheppythekid and i decided to wait til night to make our way to our extraction point. So we decided to blend into the local population as painters and decorators. We arrived at the location whilst it was quite light. Not wanting to be spotted in the open we made our way to the first WP to pick up our instructions and checked our equipment. Upon collecting the info it was quiet, a bit to quiet. There was no one around, the enemy was there, we just didn't know where.
As the light faded we picked our first WP, all good. By this time it was dark and making our way to the second, no problem. Then in the torch light, we saw the red berets of the enemy. Using stelth we made our way to the next WP to find it guarded by a single red beret. Sheppy put him to sleep and our objective was obtained without incident.
We then entered the bush, territory we were more comfortible in. The next WP proved more elusive as our navigation equipment was sending us in the opposite side of the track. After locating the next WP we used a piece of our specialist equipment to gather more info. At the next WP we found a downed pilot, we took his info and went to move on. We stopped at the lookout and tried to piece together our info, but it wasn't making sense. We could sense the enemy closing in, so it was decided to move out, meld back into the local population and attempt our escape another night.
30/7/19
Sheppy had made contact with base and we had missed a vital component to reach GZ. After finishing work we gathered our equipment and made our way to one of our previous WP. Although we were concerned the enemy might track our radio signal we received our info and we were off. Next we had to deciefer a code, which we over thought and was soon on our way. More specialist equipment was needed to see a far off clue and we re-emerged from the bush to gather our info in the open. Luckily, no enemy patrols. Then back into the bush to locate our extraction point. Once again we over thought GZ and after about 15 min we had our objective in hand and we were extracted.
Image one shows the enemy approaching our downed Black Hawk, we managed to slip through, this is where training comes in.
Thanks to our CO's for putting our escape plan together for our escape. A promotion is in order for this one.

**Find #3398**
**Multi Cache Find #329**
I have been wanting to do this cache since the day it was published but missed out on joining the 'group assault' and haven't been able to get down to the Peninsula ever since. Anticipating another oppressive night during which I'd have trouble sleeping, I decided that tonight was the night.
I'd visited the start more than three years but couldn't find the photograph I took then so it was back again tonight for the instructions. I found the container sitting in the open and so put it back where I found it 3 years ago.
The first few waypoints were found without any trouble and a variety of tools were used to obtain the information I sought but then trouble struck. I looked for a particular waypoint and couldn't find any trace of it. I moved on to the next and just as I was about to give up and log a DNF, spied what I needed to see through the foliage. Cool The next waypoint was a carbon copy of that experience. Armed with what I had just experienced, I returned to the previous waypoint and still couldn't find it. BlackEye I resorted to PAF. Blush
I kept going and then realised that I had left my binos in my car. Blush Fortunately for me, the ground was bone dry and I was able to walk right up to the information I needed so no harm done. Smile The environment showed signs of a recent skirmish near the next waypoint, but the information I needed was intact so I was able to carry on.
Next waypoint and finally, I could ditch some of the weight that I had been carrying. Worryingly, the container had become stuck and the precious liquid drained into the ground. Shock A quick deployment of a stick dislodged the container and then 3 extra water bottles were deployed and together, provided just enough water to bring my prize with within my grasp. A total of 4 litres needed on this occasion. Whew. That was close.
With puzzle solved, I headed to GZ, but the CO had one more surprise for me. I overcame that 'obstacle' and at long last, the excellent cache was in hand.
A typically quality experience and hide by BorisB&Natasha & Nut Bear. A favourite point from me.

**Thank-you to BorisB&Natasha for placing this geocache**
We located our instructions and started our journey.
WP1: Exposed to potential sniper fire we struggled to get started. I think the flora growth had obstructed the line of sight to our first target. We decided to push on anyway. A short stroll later we found what we had been searching for.
Wp2: Again we couldn't locate the target as the long grass was obstructing our view. We pushed on and spotted it eventually.
WP3: We quickly identified and neutralized the rouge operator. Very cool.
WP4: I can't believe how close we came to this one (without spotting it) when we first arrived. Having missed it, we then spent about another hour searching without luck. We had tuned our vision for long distance targets and were not ready for close combat. Eventually it was spotted and taken out!
WP5: A sneaky way to provide us with the intelligence but keep it hidden from the enemy.
WP6: A remarkable piece of kit. A keen ear picked up what we needed to move on.
WP7: A series of objects led us to another operative who gave us what we needed.
Having collected all the info we needed, we set off to locate what we thought was going to be our final objective. Little did we know how difficult it would be to escape from behind enemy lines. Information is always provided on a need to know basis and now we needed to know a bit more.
I can see why this is one of the great caches. An entertaining night that took us about 5 hours to complete. The thought and effort that has gone into this is staggering. A definite favorite from us. We thank you BorisB&Natasha and Nut Bear for a truly memorable night (and morning).
Chiefton!!!
Thanks to BorisB&Natasha for the cache.
And that's basically how this mission began after Square_pegs issued this assignment yesterday. It's been on our RADAR for way too long and tonight it's game on.
After completing the successful drop to the starting co-ords at zero dark thirty we confirmed our instructions and entered the zone. Following each checkpoint we made our way to the rendevouz point only to meet some resistance. As my old instructor used to say...improvise, adapt, overcome. A successful extraction of the cache was about 40min in the making and only when something caught my eye.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha ... have a favourite point to add to your collection. This was great fun and nicely executed.
So I got to do this cache with a muggle, showing him firsthand what a well thought out and organised multi caching experience can be like. We had some troubles at the start finding reflectors while the sun wasn't quite gone. Within half an hour to an hour we were getting a better idea of how to approach the overall puzzle. Still at plenty of points we pondered if we'd gone too far, if we were supposed to keep going, which clue to assign to which position…but it just took some patience and perseverance to sort everything out.
Progress steadily crept forward and even the final cache hide was a tough one to crack, we were so focussed on directions and distances that we weren't really looking at the obvious and not-so-obvious spots. I was lucky enough to make the find in the very end, and enjoyed being able to complete the big challenge. And as mentioned before, great to have some company along the way with an open mind and a fresh set of eyes.
We were in the very good company of Phetlern for this adventure and we worked our way through each waypoint with some excitement and interest.
It was fairly cold as we searched for our goal and it got colder as the evening progressed.
We have a terrific time doing this excellent night cache and we have to thank BorisB&Natasha & Nut Bear for a most enjoyable walk in the park in the dark.
Mission achieved which was a fitting outcome.
A favourite from us.
After sailing across the high seas of Port Phillip, in the spirit of Mary Hyde, with fellow pirates Suscoe, the adventure for the night was truly behind enemy lines. Having completed this cache back in December '15, it was just as exciting this time, the sound of potential enemy fire coming from Citation Reserve creating an even more eerie effect.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.
WP towards the end has had prop removed and simplified to make it more reliable in any weather.
GZ still operational and in simplified form while another is made.
My mouth dropped open at almost every WP, as the sheer creativity became clear to us and I would easily give a favourite point to every one of them. My only fear now, is that every night cache I do from now on, will pale in comparison to this one.
To my fellow team, I thank you for your unwavering support and commitment. To BorisB&Natasha & Nut Bear - I salute you!
WOW! What an outstanding cache. Had heard many good things about this one, and when the opportunity presented itself JaybeeBaby, S_38, and I joined forces to tackle this one, and what a team we were. After being unexpectedly hit by heavy enemy fire and shot down, crashing deep behind enemy lines, we gathered our assault kits and waited until nightfall.
We successfully navigated the obstacles the enemy had set up for us, each member of the team contributing to our success. We also had external back up which proved essential in gathering all intelligence.
Super thick fog rolled in, but we still managed to grab all the info we needed to rendezvous with our tactical team for extraction.
The WPs flowed wonderfully, and if I could award fave points for each of them I would. So much time, effort, thought, and cost has gone into the creation of this adventure, and the environment seems tailor-made.
So so cool - shall be recommending this to anyone who'll listen (and even those who won't haha).
Thank-you so much BorisB&Natasha & Nut Bear - amazing!
November India Charlie Oscar Lima Echo _ Lima Oscar Uniform India Sierra Echo = over and out.
With a heavy fog descending we were soon diverted into the woods where the way was not clear but with our navigational aid and following the easiest route we stumbled upon checkpoint whiskey and the enemy's communication headquarters. With their code broken and communications deciphered we were finally off to the the final clue and safe extraction. Or were we?
Checkpoint kilo was spotted behind enemy trenches and although a tool could have been used here I had already approached the partially water filled trench and was ready to charge the enemy so with a swift leap, a moist toe and a quick scramble up the other side I was upon the final clue. Or was it?
It all seemed so simple now, we were to continue to the extraction point and signal our completion. What did not occur was, the intel gathered on the way. It didn't even cross my mind, of what use was this if any. Was mission Black Hawk complete? Were we in fact now behind enemy lines? Only the next stage would tell.
Indeed it would seem we were behind enemy lines but our mission was really just beginning and all survival skills were about to be tested. Our next instruction was basic and slightly vague and the thick fog had now engulfed us making us wonder if we had missed something as we came to the end of the road.
Once again the enemy was well hidden and with our party broken up and searching in three directions in the fog it was seemingly difficult to locate the enemy's eyes in the dark but we knew they were watching us.
Again as in the final clue it was Nicole who finally spotted them although nearby markings caused confusion and delay our progress. Eventually I approached the enemy and once they were subdued I was joined by the rest of the team and we extracted a secret code and some useful looking tools from their store.
It was soon worked out what to do with the tools and the next stage should have been in our sights but equipment failure had let us down. Then our communication with outside also broke down. Backup communication was soon implemented and with intel provided we improvised until the points aligned.
The enemy here was stubborn but with water torture they soon gave up their secrets and using the code taken from the previous store further coordinates were revealed. Could we now be on our way to the extraction zone or was this just another sneaky decoy planted to delay our recovery?
With the tools and code replaced to cover our tracks we were once again off to continue our journey through the night.
A lookout post protected by razor wire was shortly found, surely this was the line between the enemy and our recovery. There was just one step to complete our journey. Eventually I spotted it and we made our way to where a hidden friendly spoke of our final extraction point.
Although clearly in sight it took us some time and searching before we located friendly resources which should have been easily seen and were overlooked by all three party members. With out mission complete and our names written on the log it was time to make our way back to the rendezvous point for our safe passage home.
Thank you Jaybee Baby and Nicole Louise for the opportunity to be a part of this mission and the great skill and teamwork to complete it.
Thank you so so much BorrisB&Natasha & Nut Bear for the massive effort and thought put into the most amazing cache I have found to date.
Absolutely loved it and it's a favourite point from me
I first became aware of this mission when the call was put forward under the codename Jaybee Baby via a secret military packet networking system developed in the 1960's but now widely used. I was hesitant at first as I was already on a search and discover mission some distance away and was not sure I would meet my objective in time or still have the energy for a recovery mission of such magnitude. As I searched through undergrowth for secret installations I was happy to find although sometimes difficult, I was making good progress. At 16:39 I completed my earlier mission. With 1hr21min to refuel, take in nourishment and repack my rucksack and the meeting point for this mission 1hr1min away the pressure was on but I was sure I would make it. By now another recruit going under the name of Nicole Louise (real name or a clever disguise, you decide) had responded to the call and the meeting point and time nearby where we would receive out survival instructions had been decided. With my gut packings chowed down and fresh rations and equipment packed I made my way to the meet point.
I was pleased to find I had made good time and was first on site. My arrival was almost immediately followed by Nicole Louise although there was another mysterious vehicle of unknown origin or occupant on site.
We awaited the arrival of our mission leader Jaybee Baby who unbeknownst had been misdirected to an area across enemy lines but due to modern navigational equipment had been able to locate us within a short time.
The mission began with some confusion as we headed for checkpoint bravo with no idea of what was required to survive but after some discussion we decided to check the given coordinates for clues to the mission. Initially nothing was seen but as we were about to continue on our leaders status was confirmed as she had located our instructions. With the required information documented and photographed we were on our way into the darkness unaware of what traps the enemy may have laid to hinder our progress.
At checkpoint bravo my keen eye eventually spotted our first target under the stealth of torch light although it was partially hidden behind fresh t-tree growth. We made our way to the location and after some searching found what we were looking for. This was where things got tricky. We found the clue unreadable and despite searching under torch light, uv light, with a mirror, with phones and photographs we were still unable to make a definite decipherment of the clue. Luckily with external help available checkpoint bravo was confirmed and we were ready to continue.
Checkpoint lima was completed without issue and we were off to infiltrate the red berets at checkpoint alpha1. After passing them by in search of the one that had strayed we returned to spend time among them where our target suddenly seemed clear. With a goal in mind and target fixation we were headed forward when Nicole said, what's this over here but was ignored. Never overlook anything, we spent some time beyond here before returning to the spot she had suggested and sure enough the one who had strayed had raised a flag to guide us.
Checkpoint charli, it seems charli is still good at hiding camouflaged to ambush passers by, but we knew he was nearby and eventually on the right angle I spotted the glint of his eyes and his secrets were soon extracted.
At checkpoint kilo we received more ammunition and the extraction point began to feel within reach.
At checkpoint hotel our submariner skills were engaged and the enemy's clue soon spied. The enemy had obvious radioed ahead because by checkpoint alpha2 we found him heavily armed but he was outnumbered three to one and quickly captured and his dog tags identified. With messages from a loved one filtering through and safe extraction seemingly only two checkpoints away I trod on behind in the mud taking care not to fall into enemy trenches.
Read my following diary entry to find out our fate...
Night two: I held my position and survived the day patrols while also managing to recharge the GPS. Nightfall was welcomed and it was time to move. Thinking the extraction point was nearby I assumed I'd be on the way home in no time. I was mistaken. Let's just say I realised the definition of unique, I'm glad I brought something to drink and one of the easiest parts of the multi (extraction) had me searching far and wide when it was right under my nose.
Extraction from behind enemy lines was extremely satisfying and I made it out without even being shot at thanks to the stealth of moving only at night!
I'm not the most experienced cacher but this was by far the best cache I've done. I'm not sure how to top this one? Thanks to Boris&Natasha for a great experience and the assist. A+ for creativity and effort. First fav point.
What can I say about this cache that probably hasn't already been said.
WOW !!!!!
This cache has it all. It's almost like doing 6 or so caches in one hit. And could have easily been.
After a shaky start, we managed to get back on track and made our way through the challenges.
I don't want to give much away so as to spoil it for others but one word of advice, read the description especially the suggested "tools"
We got to the very end and almost had to miss out. Lucky that one of members had an implement we could improvise with
So many highlights. Def a fav.
I can't wait to catch up with everyone again at
[WA GOES BIG 2017](https://coord.info/GC6TD11) in Rockingham, WA.
Perths big event is on again.
**See you there**.
BorisB&Natasha - Kyzabra found your cache BLACK HAWK DOWN - Behind Enemy Lines . The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing and maintaining your cache.!
After reconnaissance with friendlies under the codenames Ahomburg and Kyzabra, our troop made way to the first reconnaissance point. Orders were received and the mission commenced, avoiding enemy firing squads we made our way to the first of many checkpoints, all the intel was gathered with little difficulty. Throughout the mission several foreign reflectors were found to be placed 'can only assume tha tthey were the enemy trying to tamper with the mission. After a couple of hours arduously trekking through this zone we finally reached the chopper to rescue our comrade. Though the mission was difficult it was a complete success.
Anyways I am happy to say that this was one of the most creative cache I have yet to do, and i loved every second of it. I would very much like to thanks you for this incredible cache, as it is people like you that make this obsession perfect.
**Buhfuhguh #776**
This cache was also on hit list.
This is a truly amazing cache. Started off at about 2130 and made our way around the stages and finished at about 0015. Each stage was well put together.
I had gathered most of the equipment required but as it turned out not all of it was needed.
As we made our way around I spotted foot prints in the damp grass a few minutes later torches where seen in the distance, we finally caught up with another team whom where stuck at a way point. we teamed up and finished doing the waypoints and then we made the final assault on the cache.
If I could I would give all my favourite points to this cache.
[Scrat](https://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=4376822) visited your amazing cache whilst on his Great Aussie Adventure.
TFTC and memories BorisB&Natasha
The first night we set out in the bitter cold and rain, with determination but maybe not enough savvy, as we finally came to the conclusion by the 4th marker that we had played the whole game wrong XD.
However once we realised the full extent of this well thought out multi, it sparked our passion to come back and finish strong.
Our second attempt was spectacular! Like giddy school girls we raced to the parts we knew we still needed to figure out and started to get deeply involved in our mission. Whilst doing our first catch up quest, we soon noticed another party had come to play the game and so the race began, with this new team nipping at our heels.
Time after time each mission stage got more elaborate and more exciting, with one stage getting even more real as we both crouched in the bushes getting our new coordinates and watching as the rival team got closer.
At long last our rivals had caught us ONLY to find out it was actually the CO :3 testing out the newly polished components of their cache. It was an absolute TREAT to have these amazing creators help us finish their new pride and joy.
WHAT A MISSION!
Absolutely the most fun ive had finding a cache, the effort and time that has been placed into this multi is something to be greatly admired and treasured for a long time to come.
I wish i could give a favourite point to each part of this multi :3
Not to mention, look out for the wildlife around you as you play, i had the most amazing experience as a tawny frogmouth came swooping over my head from the inky black of night and land in a nearby tree to watch over us. A chorus of poddlebonks made the symphony of the night and the the watchful glints of the possums eyes in the trees added to the missions roleplaying fun :3
Nyochi and I had an amazing time, and marveled at the creativeness of this fabulous cache!!! So many highlights- I can't relieve them all, or this will never end!!!
Thank you once again to Boris and Natarsha for an awesome multi!!!
What great fun we had with the gadgets! I'd not seen one of the optical thingy before, and was amazed that Q was able to figure it out and make it work. Of course another FP from me - would love to give it many more than just one! TFTC, B&N!
With all information obtained we started on the next stage of the journey. Great gismo which Q soon worked out. We had to look a bit for the final item but L had the right spot, and I grabbed the cache without needing one of the items. Q an my eye sight was good so no binoculars were required either. Heading to what we though was Gz we ended up in the middle of thick bush. A call to the CO led us to another spot about 20m from where we were. Here we were able to spot the reflectors and Q soon found the cache. Excellent 'cache' which has had a lot of work put into it - and it shows. Some of the waypoints were really ingenious. The rain held off and we had a lot of fun doing this cache. Thanks Boris&Natasha

Aside from that , this is one of the most memorable caches I have done to the "done" date or since. I have no idea how you come up with these caches but they are fantastic.
Thank you so very much for this experience, as it is more than just finding a cache.
Most grateful and sincerely apologetic.
p.s. Sorry about the late post, I have just (finally) caught up from our recent trip to SA with over 1100 finds to log.
We all set out and worked as a team, going from stage to stage and completing them fairly quickly, with a 2 1/2 hour start to finish on the whole cache. I'd just like to say the workmanship on parts of this multi are fantastic and well thought out and we will give a favourite point, along with others in the group.
Thank you so much BorisB&Natasha - we love your work guys.
Thanks for the experience here tonight.
The message came in from the field troops that another Black Hawk had gone done and the crew were in need of rescue, exactly 2 months after the last tragic downing.
A call was put out to gather the troops into a rescue team and a very obliging and friendly team of 12 was assembled at 1800 hours and prepared our equipment to head in under the safety of night.
The first stop was the intel tent to get our mission briefing. Once we were all briefed, we headed off at 1830 hours to find the information required to narrow in on the crew's location. The first few were out in the open so we were careful not to be spotted by any enemy snipers. Upon arriving at waypoint Lima, the enemy had apparently attempted to throw us off the scent by disposing of the necessary information but we were able to work around this with the aid of some previous commandos.
We kept moving on and were soon battling our way through the jungle, making our way ever closer to the crash zone, gathering intelligence along the way which would aid us in finding it.
By just before 2100 hours, we had successfully avoided the enemy and infiltrated deep into the jungle to rescue the Black Hawk crew. A quick extraction was made back to the waiting vehicles so that we could all safely retreat from the area.
A big thank you to BorisB&Natasha and Nutbear for a fantastic cache. The night was really nice. The moon lit up most of the open parts and brightly glowed across the lake. We had a fantastic group of 12 people that worked really well together and made the night a memorable one. Definitely a favourite point from us.
An amazing 2.5hrs (12 sets of eyes and 12 brains helped with the speed of completion) with great company. We lucked onto the perfect weather and the near full moon over the lake was a delightful distraction. The COs are an incredible couple with an overactive imagination that we relish. The bar has been set very high indeed. I would award you all my fav pts if I could, but the computer says 'No'.
And a special thanks to the team...I couldn't have done it without you. 12 went in; 12 came out.
I now have to bring some others back to experience this cache. So in my best Arnie accent.. "I'll be back".
Many of the waypoints would each be a contender for Cache of the Year.
I was going to write a brief mission description but am overwhelmingly overwhelmed but the enormity of preparation, imagination, craftsmanship, technical expertise and creativity of the remarkable couple, [BorisB&Natasha](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=2ae89768-0b5d-4003-b7a2-549f01b6095d&wid=aa011137-9369-4b32-a0b6-71393d9de2f5&ds=2).
12 of us gathered at the beginning, 12 of us were evacuated. In between, we all shared an experience that will linger long in our memory. It was the perfect night to attempt. Thanks to [The-M-Fam](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=918c9d6c-2b93-4864-ba30-71115465a170) for organising our adventure.
I wish I could do it all again and I probably will.
I hope that there becomes a Hall of Fame in the Victorian Cache of the Year awards so this cache could be admitted.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha. Phew!
Thanks to the CO for help near the final as we'd got 2 numbers back to front and it was obvious that we were in the wrong place. Back on track and just a short distance away and that stage was done and we were off again.
The group was awesome and everyone contributed at one point or the another, which made it a great experience for all of us. I was thankful the tracks were all great and there were no hills, I love a nice long walk but I don't love hills, and the only wet and muddy bits were where we went the wrong way
We shared out the TBs in the cache (loved it by the way) amongst the group as they'd been there quite a while, we took 2.
Thank you so much for all the time and effort that has gone into this one, it was truly epic and we had such a great time. Geodaughter and I have done night caches before, but nothing like this one, I wish I could give it more than one favourite point!
This one has been on my to do list ever since it was published, having completed the first Black Hawk Down mission, I did briefly get to it but after finding the container at the posted coordinates with biggles1024, we then left as there was still too much daylight, with the intention of returning an hour later to complete it but a FTF opportunity came out and off we went and we never got back to it.
I had been speaking to Judith on a couple of occasions about this one and once we found a day, the word was put out to a few others to form a group to tackle this one.
We all met at the car park and after a bit of a chat, waiting for the darkness to ascend, we then set off on our mission.
We gathered the intel needed for later on at the first waypoint and headed off, at the second one and the next few , the reflectors took a bit of looking but they were all found in the end, after that our reflector spotting was getting better the further we went and wasn’t taking as long.
The waypoints along the way are amazing and a lot of work and thinking has certainly gone into the making of Black Hawk Down 2, there is great interaction and listening along the way.
A great time was had by all that completed this mission and all those that have gone before us as well, going by the fav points that have been awarded, I’m sure that there will be a few more very shortly.
**Thanks to BorisB&Natasha and nutbear for placing this cache.**
The first couple of waypoints had us adjusting to the distance and placement of reflectors used by the COs throughout the cache but we soon got the hang of it. The thought that has gone into the props and storyline is amazing. So much so that I wonder whether I have been spoilt when it comes to the standard of nightcaches put out by the Victorian caching community. We will see!
A brief hiccup concerning the transposing of two numbers saw jascat make contact with one of the COs who set us right.
We distributed the TBs in the cache given that a few had been sitting there for a while and the cache hadn't been found in some months prior to our little adventure.
Once again thanks go to the COs for the involving storyline, intricate set-up and quality of props. Finding this cache has also contributed to a challenge and filled in a D/T square. A favourite point (one amongst many) coming your way.
The first night I set out alone around 10pm and got a few checkpoints under the belt. I was left looking around for one for a little while and couldn't figure it out. Then got a call from work and had to call it a night anyway.
2nd night I brought the geodaughter along for the ride. I quickly pointed out the few spots, so she'd know what to look for. She naturally solved the checkpoint I was stuck on, instantly. We knocked off the rest of the listed checkpoints in quick succession and then couldn't figure out how to get the gps to accept a new waypoint. Hint: Not from compass mode *sigh*
But, given the hint and knowing this park really well I took a guess at where it had to be. We got to within a few metres of the point and called it quits for the night.
3rd night. Daughter and Mrs along for the ride this time. Found and solved the next point instantly ... and then got confused by technology again after a short walk along the path.
Put two and two together a few days later and was able to solve the rest of it early one morning, or so I thought.
4th night. Solo again, to finish it off. A few others in the park tonight, so I had to use low light devices to navigate to the finish. There were other lights everywhere ... no idea what they were up to ...
Fantastic effort by the CO's. Every trick in the book used. Well worth the adventure. A favourite from me, of course! We saw no signs of snakes, but plenty of possums and roos, two owls and some deer.

The team consisted of Team Tiddler, Bendsinister and myself & we thoroughly enjoyed the course regardless of a few hiccups, which were eventually overcome.
I was rather taken back to see the CO implement a number of ideas I shared with them a little while back. I guess it's an honour to have the CO incorporate those ideas as part of the BHD game piece.
Many thx to Sue for creating an awesome NC - Cachers from far and wide will come to experience what you have created.
This was our last night before heading back home, so we decided to give this a go. Just our luck... at the exact same time as we came down the road and pulled into the car park, two 4WDs pull in from the opposite direction!! A quick chat revealed they were muggles planning on doing some fishing... at 9pm!! A little unsure about the muggles, we set off on our "night fauna survey" ;cP The amount of work put into this multi is just awesome :cD We worked our way through all the waypoints, collecting the necessary intel required to keep moving towards our target. Then... we got stumped :cO Almost at the end, there were flash lights on the trail ahead... the muggle fishermen... or an enemy patrol? We waited a while until they left before continuing on. We were sure we were in the correct place, but the last intel source would not reveal and we did not want to get muggled out so close to the end :c( So 4 hours after setting off... we frustratingly called it a night as we really needed some sleep before starting the trip home. ((Attending the INTERVENING DAYS event in Melton the following day, we found we were in the correct location and so, so close)) This is definitely on our list for our next trip over... now we just need a reason for another holiday :cP
Thanks BorisB&Natasha, what an amazing cache and well worth the late night and child free time. What great fun. Well done
And so began our quest to make it out alive, the enemy were all around us, in company with the other shoot down survivors, our crew mates Morcs4, we made our way stealthily to each checkpoint. Constantly we were harassed by the buzzing enemy aircraft and many times they hit their mark and drew blood. We battled on, though the forests and the open plains. To our north, natures big guns could be heard booming in the night. Flashes of light on the horizon told us that the enemy was getting a pounding but still they searched for us in the dark. Only once we had made contact with our rescuers did we feel it might soon be over. But no, soon we we forced to once again take to the undergrowth as the enemy renewed their attack with vigor. Finally we made to a suitable LZ however our rescuers were forced away by the constant enemy presence. We sought a better area further out and finally after many hours and with some blood loss to the enemy we made it to the GZ. A quick touch and go pick up by the rescue chopper and we were signing logs and noting TB's.
Without fail our best adventure yet..fav points all round for a superbly thought out and executed cache....Thanks for the memories....☺☺☺
Zulu Time: 20.25
Location: Flying somewhere deep behind enemy lines
Encountering enemy fire... mayday mayday... Blackhawk hit and going down behind enemy lines. For the second time in two weeks team snugglebunnies is down, shot from the sky. Our first encounter was an epic fail, being captured just under two hours in, unable to infiltrate the twelve Red Berets. But this time was different!
Zulu Time: 20.30
Location: BRAVO
Teaming up with two elite soldiers, specially trained detectives, with intimate knowledge of the foreign land and the forces we were trying to escape. Our quest to reach the extraction point began.
Using the highly technical skills of our two Commanders we used all of the specially chosen tools in our arsenal kit. The journey across the hostile terrain set out from way point to way point was cleverly designed to ensure our stealth and covert mission to the extraction point was a success.
Zulu Time: 22.50
Location: GZ
With the extraction beacon signal a light and the sound of the rescue chopper inbound for our safe extraction we signed the log as a token of our survival behind enemy lines.

A massive thank you to borisb&natasha and nutbear for putting together this amazing adventure! The level of thought, planning, construction and detail that has gone into this is truly out of this world. Geowife and I have only been caching for seven months, and with just over 600 finds nothing comes even close to this! And an even bigger thank you to borisb&natasha for being our Commanders, and ensuring our safe arrival at the extraction point.
Certainly a favourite point from us. TB's visited, dropped and collected. Tonight will be a night we remember for a long time to come.
After taking in sustenance and night having fallen, a group of intrepid friends (Alansee, Coffee's, maccamob, pprass, Team Crackers and Phetlern) set out to discover how to extract themselves from this hostile environment. Survival instructions in hand we ventured forth in an attempt to reach the extraction rendezvous location. Our journey was adventure filled with plenty to discuss and discover as we made our way through the night. Two and a quarter hours later and without too much hassle but with some occasional doubt, we reached the extraction point, got the green light and were pleased to hear the welcome sound of the extraction team vehicle as they arrived to complete the recovery mission.

What an absolutely superb night cache - it ranks at the top of the night caches we have ever had the pleasure of doing. Thank you for the imaginative and well thought out way points - a surprise at every turn. The construction and presentation of the various "devices" alone deserve acknowledgement, but the way it has all been put together into a flowing activity just adds further to the excellence of this cache. Indeed it gets a favorite point and very a high recommendation from us.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to BorisB&Natasha for sharing your imagination and talents with us.

In the company of Alansee, Maccamob, Phetlern, Pprass and Team Crackers
We arrived at the starting point and set out with all the equipment including a 3.5 litre container on water I borrowed from our dog Bundy.
Over the next two and a half hours we gathered and clued our way to the final location and experienced waypoints that can only be described as brilliant, and happily logged our find at the final GZ. This is one cache that can be listed as a privilege to complete and a favorite of all time for me.
Our thanks to BorisB&Natasha for the cache.
Regards
The “cache of the year” Coffee’s
We were soon ticking off the known waypoints, and recording the required intelligence at each spot. Some were more obvious than others, but each one our various team members played a part and we made good progress. Gradually we found out where each item in the inventory came into play, and really appreciated the variety of techniques we were experiencing, and admired the standard of construction used. We particularly admired the technology required at some of the later waypoints, and had fun at the outhouse, which we took longer to open than we should have - too many cooks?
The final coordinates generated some doubt, but we pressed on and found our way to the rendezvous without any problems. This would be one of the three best night caches we've ever done, and the closest to maccamob HQ. A well-deserved favourite from us. Our thanks to BorisB&Natasha.
We arrived at the crash site, checked our Assault Kit was complete and after a bit of a slow start and a lot of talking we off working our way back to the extraction zone.
We will not give any thing away but this cache just kept getting better and better with each Way Point and we getting more confident about being rescued.
We got to use all the tools and even then had to think out side the square to get one piece of information. Doing this one in a group only made the night better and we were all amazed at the work and detail that has gone into all the stages of this cache and that kept the conversation going between stops while our many eyes to try and avoid capture.
We are happy to say we made it to the extraction rendezvous location and were plucked from behind enemy lines and it only took us around 21/4 hours, every minute enjoyable and a great way for Alansee to celebrate his 22,000nd find.
Many thanks BorisB&Natasha & Nut Bear for a night cache that will take a bit of beating it is up there in our top two so definitely gets a favorite point, there would be more if we could.
A very well put-together cache and a good bit of fun in the dark, thanks Boris&Natasha. I managed to make this #22,000.
We had heard about this night cache from some of the attendees of the Melbourne event and thought that we may never be able to do it as we live in Port Macquarie NSW. However while caching with maccamob during the day we learned that the group that we were meeting for dinner that evening were then going to go and attempt this cache. They had come prepared with all of the gear - I had nothing, not even a spare pair of batteries for the GPSr - which cut out about 2 WPT's from the finish
With a great deal of anticipation and torches flying ll over the place we forged ahead on a very balmy evening and the information came tumbling our way. There were so many incidents and funny situations with some of the team wanting to document everything in sight and others just happy to saunter along and add a few ideas here and there. Then there were those that had to carry stuff and were wondering when the heck they could use it and whether it was all just a con
We managed to work out everything quite quickly except getting the dunny open - too many hands involved and then we were not convinced about the final set of co-ords, but we ere just amazed at the level of workmanship and how you used every trick in the book for a very satisfying night cache - one of the best!
Thanks BorisB&Natasha.
A huge thank you to borisb&natasha & nutbear for the challenge, you got the better of us tonight.
Consisting of myself, Cpt Roverman, Alchey, Juc-cacher, CleverMonkey, CleverMonkey Jnr and Mountain Goat, we each did a 2 hour trip to arrive for this one cache. We arrived here just on dark from leaving Geelong at 6pm.
Upon arrival we set about gathering info and making sure we were on the right path. At each location we were guided easily and mission commenced. As the waypoints progressed we became more and more impressed - wow so much detail and awesomeness!
At no point did we slow or stumble, everything flowed nicely and gave credit to the Black Hawk Saga.
Finished at GZ and took it all in, including the group pic! Back home by 1:30am.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for another amazing cache experience. We appreciate every bit of effort that is put in and really stands out as a caching experience, especially as a night cache that sets the bar so high. Look forward to doing more of your caches - we are very lucky to have CO's like you in the game!
Cheers and 'Thanks for the Cache' - Fave point from me.
Chatter on the channels recently suggested that another Blackhawk was down and an elite force was compiled, suitable dates were analysed and the day arrived. Troops marshalled at the rendezvous point, with Kmace CleverMonkey, CleverMonkey Jnr and Mountain Goa scotuing out the earlier stages until the second contingent (Jacko83, Captain Roverman88, Alchey and myself) arrived.
Once we were all assembled, the mission proper commenced, with frequent forays into the undergrowth for necessary details. All tools were required (except the binoculars, as one of the squadron was able to get close enough this night) and we carefully made our way towards the final zone, marvelling at the ingenuity and workmanship those brave soldiers had deployed to guide the specially trained operatives to their lair, without revealing clues to unsuspecting civilians, or patrolling hostiles.
Under cover of darkness, the extraction zone was safely reached and the mission was accomplished without loss of life (except quite a few mosquitos, who paid the ultimate price).
Thanks for the whole experience Boris and Natasha...a worthy successor to the original and a definite favourite !
We consisted of Jacko83, Cpt Roverman, Alchey, Juc-cacher, kmace, CleverMonkey, CleverMonkey Jnr, and myself.
Armed with an arsenal of tools and gadgets, torches that could light up the moon and enough water to wash an elephant we set out as the sun disappeared over the horizon.
We took our time, making sure we grabbed all the information required as we went and shared caching stories along the way.
A really great cache that just goes to show that when you put your mind to it, you can create a fantastic cache.
Gets a Goat point from me.
Dropped off Obi-Wan trackable.
Thanks for the adventure and the cache and a favourite point is given for a highly creative cache.
Thanks for the cache BorisB&Natasha.
We were a bit too early to start the cache as it was still pretty light but soon enough the light faded and torches were activated. We made it though the whole operation with only one error in direction and 1 stumbling point. Each one of us aided in finding or working out a zone. A great team effort.
I substituted my apparently long and slim arm for a tool at one point!
All in all a very nicely laid out cache with a lot of effort put into it. A lovely area as well.
I took the TB and a pathtag from the final and left a multi tool.
Tftc.
What an awesome time we had!
Previous survivors 88andy88 and the daz half of daznjaneo returned to accompany myself, ahomburg, sedgwickDave, Ice Foxy, sharkiefan & the other half (Janeo) of daznjaneo on our mission to rendezvous with our Tactical Team extraction.
Apart from one wayward mishap, from which we soon recovered, we are pleased with the success of our mission.
Extremely impressed with the thought and effort that went into this mission, and looking forward to further adventures from BorisB&Natasha & Nut Bear. Cheers!

Find #6779
I had been told this was a must do cache and after doing a previous version I was keen to do it anyway. It certainly did not dissapoint. What a cache. It ticks all the boxes for me... Night cache....Tick, An enjoyable Walk.... Tick, Gadgets.... Tick, A cache to find at the end.... Tick. So, a team was formed to tackle this cache, There was sharkiefan, ozhockeychick, sedgwickDave, Ice Foxy, one half of daznjaneo and myself as well as a couple of tag alongs in Daz and Andy. We tried to start a little early, but the consistent gunfire had us ducking for cover. Once darkness was close, we spotted our first mark, we were now off and running, finding all necessary components, (with a couple of stumbling points) and eventually leading us to our extraction point safely without incident or loss of life All in all, another wonderful night cache that seems to have raised the night cache bar yet again.
Thanks to BorisB&Natasha & Nut Bear for the cache.
Big things are happening! Are you joining the fun?

What an amazing cache!!! It has once again raised the bar a few notches higher. [^]
Earlier in the week a group mission was planned for tonight with the mission underway by 8:30pm.
Every stage was unique with some of the kit items being very useful and others i.e a coat hanger catching blackberries and shrubs more often then not.
The team got lost for a short period so after back tracking back to the gate and then scanning around we spotted the correct direction to continue on to the pickup point. From here on it was steady going with a great team and many laughs and giggles at times.
A very cool cache indeed with amazing attention to details on all elements. A Favorite, it deserves alot more.... [^]
Eagerly waiting for the next installment in the series...

I was lucky enough to be invited along for the group assault on this excellent cache. I travelled down with LouiseAnn and SirJ-Oz and then we were joined on site by BernieH, muggle wife does, gmj3191, Pam and the Tassie Treckers team. A the beginning I was presented with my Anvil Angus baseball cap making me feel like a true cacher!
We were well prepared with tools and equipment and plenty of eyes to survive our ordeal behind enemy lines. We were here at dusk and made our first discovery. As the cover of darkness increased we were able to make progress through the various stages. As I commented at the time each WP in itself is worthy of an individual favourite point. All team members contributed along the way and often those bringing up the rear made the key discovery.
The thought and planning that goes into a cache like this is to be commended. We did get stuck at one stage and were generously given a small help by the CO to move us along. We were unsure how close we were to the finish but as it turned out I made a key discovery and the exit plan was revealed. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited a bunch of TBs. Thanks for your great work on this cache BorisB&Natasha. One favourite point doesn't quite seem sufficient but here it is anyway.
What a great cache and such an adventure as we walked in amongst the trees, along the track, across the grass, around the lake......to each of the check points which were all so different. The weather was kind and we all agreed the adventure was good to experience as a group with everyone contributing in some way (although my skill definitely wasn't in spotting the small fire tack reflectors).
What an amazing effort and imagination to put the whole cache together. I'll have to log more caches so that I can earn favorite points.
TFTC.
So glad we had the opportunity to accompany LouiseAnn, Annoying Tarbit, gmj3191, PamJ, BernieH, MuggleWifeDoes, and SirJ-Oz on this tactical adventure.
The weather gods were kind to us and our checkpoints were soon ticked off and a funtime was had by all - being a part of a group made this cache even more memorable.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha & Nut Bear for creating this adventure for us and others to enjoy.
A well deserved favourite point coming your way.
Time: 11:15 pm
Date: Sun 22 Nov 2015
We assembled at the starting point at about 8:15pm. Our task force was composed of LouiseAnn, Annoying Tarbit, BernieH and MuggleWifeDoes, Sir J-Oz, the Tassie Trekkers, and myself and PamJ.
We set out as soon as darkness approached, and proceeded to have a fantastic adventure, passing the many checkpoints with varying degrees of success, but continuing towards our extraction point at a steady rate.
We eventually made it, arriving at the extraction point at about 11:15pm, after an enormously satisfying adventure.
Thank you so much for a wonderful night of excitement and pleasure.
Obviously a well earned fav point. And I might add that the peninsular turned on a really nice night for us, cool, clear, and absolutely dry.
Thanks for placing this cache BorisB&Natasha
We headed of on our journey just on dusk and proceeded to gather clues and dodge enemy contact. Got through most of the exercises with minimal trouble but had a major Contact at Kilo 2 (or maybe that was...) but eventually sighted the tool repository. After arriving at the pickup zone we scrambled around and found the offsets to take us to our prize, safety. A great time was had by all.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for a great adventure and a excellently put together cache.
Dropped GC, grabbed TB
The crew was: BernieH - leading the way, with his tail light glinting in the distance so we knew where he was headed.
muggle wife does - along for the ride
gmj3191 - also powering a head and master clue finder
Pam - shock horror, no caching name, so we assumed just dragged along for the walk through the dark
Tassie Treckers - had a head up that this was a good cache, and they were here for that, not their prize, I promise!
SirJ-Oz - despite recent sickness, he wasn't going to miss this trip
Annoying Tarbit - initially the driver, but also resident water infrastructure expert and bloke with better than 20/20 vision
LouiseAnn - me, the broken one, team anchor and emergency reflector finder
Needless to say, we had a great time. We all knew we were going to, after all: We know the CO's and the fantastic work they do.
I am pleased to say that the weather was cool but dry, we were able to collect all the required information and make our way from point to point with only the tiniest of hick ups. We all enjoyed ourselves and despite the party having to move along pretty slowly (my fault, hip was really in a bad way) we had rescued all the concerned parties before midnight!
We picked this cache up at round 11:11pm. BorisB&Natasha, you have out done yourselves again. This cache is great. Thanks for getting back on the wagon after your tragic losses.

Unfortunately, I'd spent the previous week a little out of sorts, and had therefore been trying to take things a bit easier (not that was particularly successful). However, when the email came to "get the band back together" for another night cache, I was tempted. Once I looked at the email and it was the new BorisB&Natasha & Nut Bear night cache, I was in - no questions.
I put the call out for car pooling, as either driver or passenger, and both Annoying Tarbit and LouiseAnn took up that offer (in respective order and capacities). The initial meet up point was at my place and soon we were zooming off to the crash site. We were the last to arrive at 1 minute past the specified time and we were all soon ready to go, but the sunset was not. We did manage to work out the first and second sections before it got properly dark, but soon it was really night.
Unlike the crew of a Downed Black Hawk - Behind Enemy Lines, we talked and laughed openly, we walked in a ragged, sometimes spread out and sometimes clustered procession, we had our torches blazing across the landscape, we called out loudly when we made progress, but like a well oiled machine, we worked our way through the sections. A small wrench in the cog of our well oiled machine showed itself at one point, but we got by with a little help from our friends [PACO].
I really enjoyed doing this cache, my only regret was I forgot to bring my rescued pilot from the last BHD mission along for the ride. We really couldn't have asked for any better weather in which to get shot out of the sky by RPG and avoid capture by the enemy, cool but not cold and just enough light breeze to keep the insects at bay.
The advantages of doing these sorts of caches in a group are manyfold, including (but not limited to); great company, fresh ears for my (some would say atrocious) puns, a collection of different and varied skill sets, many pairs of eyes and probably the most important - sharing a great experience. And this was a great experience.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log, survived getting to the rendezvous point through hostile territory, got rescued by the tactical team recovery mission and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache BorisB&Natasha, have another fav point to add to your collection.
Rumour had it Black Hawk Down - Behind Enemy Lines was not far away, word from a couple that did the test run that it was a bit alright!! Patiently we waited with bated breath, then seeing on FB they're back confirmed our wildest hopes, yes another installment. We read the description, wow look at what you need, interesting. Whilst away in SA, an invite was put out there for dinner and a walk when we had Campbell a plan was hatched. A question was asked to Campbell, "Do you remember how we were going to take you to Black Hawk Down but it was unfortunatly archived? There is another version, wanna go?" Campbell's face lit up and responded YES PLEASE!!
We met BorisB&Natasha for dinner at Mornington, sharing laughs and a great meal overlooking the bay on what was to be a fantabulous night, making our way the the reserve just on dusk where we met up with another team and started the adventure!!!
We headed off our spirits high in anticipation of what was to come. As soon as we started weaving our way through some bush, fond memories flooded back of a previous adventure not too far from here. We located our much needed survival instructions and specialised equipment and started our fight for survival in earnest. Information was gathered as we moved from one location to the next, the sky a glow, a dark reminder that our transport lay in a smouldering heap behind us as we forged ahead towards safety.
It wasnt long before we realised we had to get past a group of Red Berets, as stealthily as we could we got past them, it was when we were skirting the sentry on duty, the eiry silence was broken, freezing us in our tracks!! He must of been bored not thinking we would get this far when of all things he started humming a song, then called out loud BRUCE!! We didnt hang around too long as we slipped into the cover of trees nearby.
We recovered from the shock of the close call. We went deeper and deeper into the cover of trees, gathering information as we went! STOP, What are they? Eyes? We are being watched, Sniper!! We braced for the sound of supressed gunfire to unleash on us, but to our suprise nothing, a rustle in the tree, then the local marsupial shows himself. Breathing a sigh of releif we continue following a track, ever alert.
We avoid any more contact as we moved from cover to cover, getting closer and closer to our objective. Our equipment worked flawlessly, each tool had its use (even the trusty iPhone). Utilising the specialised equipment we gathered crucial intelligence indicating we needed to make one last push. Even though the area was well fortified, the enemy was no where to be seen, we received intructions on where to meet the tactical team. The feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction to see the rescue chopper arrive swept over us.
Our mission was a success, we were extracted, not without incidence.
After consultation with doctors and psychologists in the following days we all got a clean bill of health, but everyone mentioned they hear music when they are falling asleep. Investigations revealed everyone could repeat an old E.L.O song!! Strange indeed!!
The effort and detail that was put into this night cache is second to none. Thank you again we loved it!
Thank you for an awesome adventure. ...
A favorite for me
And we were alerted to this beauty via the online book of faces, so we all thought if we are only to do one cache while we are down here, then this will be it (turns out it was the only cache we did that weekend), so a plan was hatched with a few northern locals.
Well, after the great fireworks and steak show, we all planned to rendezvous down at the secret drop zone and give it a good old crack.
So it turns out that a few other people had the same idea, so what started out as small group of us turned into a large group, much like a walking small town, with torches and stuff. Anyway, even though there were so many participants, we all got through the excellent WPs and everyone got to experience each fantastic and well put together WP activity and probably due to there being so many eyes and brains on the job, we were able to make our way through the whole course with a minimum of fuss, and even though we didn't want it to end, we all eventually made our way to the final zone, and with a fair bit of a search the cache was found right under our noses.
I must say that this is one of the best night caches I have done and the amount of time and effort that has been put into each WP is amazing, makes me want to do all the other ones I have heard about.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for the fantastic night cache that we had a big fun time doing.
100 favourites from us.
Cheers
We gathered our troops and all met at the starting point, only to find many others had the same idea as us. We decided to head off in groups but that didn't work due to obvious reasons the CO is fully aware of, so it was one BIG group trotting off into the darkness.
The gung ho's that had to be first were rushing off ahead of everyone else, the middle pack got the gist of what was happening and then the stragglers behind missed what was happening and ended up just strolling behind.
Overall it was an enjoyable evening doing a very well thought out cache that kept us all busy for quite some time!
Clearly a LOT of thought and time went into creating such a brilliant cache for us all to enjoy, so thank you BorisB&Natasha for a top cache!!
Fav point - Yes indeed [^]

Found while out caching with Snap Happy, and SnappyTomCats for the Melbourne Mega. Fantastic couple of days and my first time caching in Vic. This was an awesome cache with a great deal of effort... Thanks very much for what was the highlight of our weekend. A favourite for me for sure. Sorry for the delayed log... I'm learning how to use Gsak
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for placing and maintaining this cache.
"CONTACT CONTACT WAIT OUT...Command this is Tango Lima Whisky - Hostile RPG fire has hit our tail and we are going down, I say again we are going down... ... Hostile forces all over the place awaiting for night fall, recommend extraction after dark, initiating avoidance of hostile forces."
"Command this is Tango Lima Whisky moving out towards extraction point now, linked up with other friendly forces and are moving now"
" Command this is Tango Lima Whisky proceeding as planned, weather is turning FUBAR, recommend immediate evac soonest possible"
"Command this is Tango Lima Whisky, I can hear the extraction bird, popping smoke and IR beacon now."
"Command this is Tango Lima Whisky we are in the evac zone now, thank you for the rescue"

This cache is the best multi cache that I have ever done! Thank you, definitely a favourite point.
Found this whilst travelling around the area whilst attending the Melbourne Event...
A cool night to be out and about in this area... Found with Tomboy 711 and another couple of teams (a large mob)... This one had a bit of everything and certainly deserves the Fave point...
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment BorisB&Natasha...

One plan was made however, after seeing Skullracing I discovered a few were headed to do this new night cache and I just had to tag along since I never got to do the original and I quite enjoyed the mission impossible NC by the CO.
Well after a grand display of fireworks off I headed for GZ. On arrival it soon became apparent that a number of groups had the same idea tonight, and so a monster group was formed!
Off we set with a wealth of experience in the group (including one of the FTFers), and I've got to say it, I kept saying this is awesome all night! Each step along the way I was fully engaged and impressed! I won't go into specifics and spoil it for those to come but this is a ripper night cache and an incredible amount of planning and effort has gone into it! I left the car park early Sunday morning feeling like I'd just experienced this years cache of the year! Congratulations, this is an exceptional cache that is sure to impress everyone who comes an attempts it!

[font=Courier New] [white] Attempted this mission with a platoon of caches, with so many foot solders with bright lights it was going to be very difficult to remain undetected stop.
Was fortunate to move into forward scout position to discovering the each checkpoint as intended. The few that we stumbled on extracting information were soon sorted with the help many reinforcements stop
Not sure if it was because Ive been on so many of these missions in the past, but some how I managed to end up with the finial cache in my hands and after so much excitement and fun I was ready for extraction.
Brilliant! I've been blessed having you guys as caching neighbours

A squad of geocachers where heading in to find the Black Hawk Down.
I punched in some co-ords and headed to hell knows where through the dark night.
A collection of 4WDs indicating the rendezvous point.
We were an uncoordinated bunch strung out over a great distance to start with rather than a company.
I thought we looked like something out of the Hobbit a sting of wood elves with their torches strung out in a procession line.
There were scouts ranging ahead and I think our TECs kept dropping off as the night progress and some just plain deserted and at one stage we had a man down.
We were a ragged lot who dragged themselves back into the evacuation zone sometime near 1 o'clock in the morning.
Rain had been falling for the last 30 minutes and since I was with Snappytom the expression "Look what the cat dragged in" was probably appropriate.
Two hours in I kept asking for the British to pull us out but this time history didnt repeat and we had to rely on the GIs to get us out of here and it was another 30 minutes before we safely out of enemy territory and back behind the wire thinking of jam donuts.
This was an amazing night with rife sights, water boarding, binocular reconnaissance, radio calls, UV take-down and reflection.
Crawled into bed a happy cacher.
Nice one
Sierra Alfa Papa out.

So a great day's effort including a few more finds for good measure!
Also traded a heap of Pathtags which I was pretty wrapped with!
After a long day this was the last one we did while I was on this side of the bay.
A great adventure was had by all
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for the adventure

The adjectives of defining brilliant is as follows:
1.
shining brightly; sparkling; glittering; lustrous:
2.
distinguished; illustrious:
3.
having or showing great intelligence, talent, quality, etc.:
4.
strong and clear in tone; vivid; bright:
5.
splendid or magnificent:
Even with the above definition, it still doesn't do this cache justice as to just how brilliant it really is! During my time in caching, I have found some pretty good night caches...but at the time of logging...this is by far the best I've seen, and really sets the standard for all that follows it. My journey with this one started a few days ago when it was recommended to me that I should definitely pay it a visit while I was down for the Melbourne Mega event. At the time I didn't foresee myself traveling this far south, but sometimes fate has other ideas. Big Matt and I fortuitously bumped into 88andy88, daznjaneo, and tidder at Devil's Bend, and they had plans of tackling this one. Not knowing we were so close to it, we jumped at the chance to join them. As we approached the start of the cache, we knew it was going to be something special, but it was far beyond any expectation we had. As we made our way through the various WP's, we were like little kids wanting more...and couldn't wait to see what the next WP would bring. The attention to detail was what impressed me the most, as well as the level of effort that had gone into creating this cache from start to finish. Without wanting to give away anything in my particular log, let me just say it is worth the drive from wherever you are to come and do this one. Thankyou for giving me one of the best caching experiences I've had to date, and thanks to our Victorian friends who invited us along for the night for which the experience was made all that much better. Have I said enough about how good this cache is? Probably not!
Gratias BorisB&Natasha.
