A nice wee cache, thank you. We enjoyed looking around this area and reading the plaques while waiting for the ferry to Quail Island.
A nice quick find here this morning. Right where wed place it. As to be expected with this one, its nice and dry. Thank you.
Could not find it today... Did not see the previous logs with the accurate coords until I came home.
We go in circles until Arthur is an idea-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --French version below-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --Short late log but more complete now that we are back home. Our vacation will take us to the other side of the world to the land of the Maoris. After many, many hours of flying, a passage through China on the way there and through the United States of America on the way back, we will finally arrive in Christchurch which will be the starting point of our journey. We will enjoy the beaches of the Pacific Ocean and we will go back towards the North Island via State Highway 1. To combine business with pleasure, we will take regular breaks and small detours according to the caches that seem the most accessible to us.With a little more than 3500 km in 20 days, we will have discovered many facets of this island which is soothing. We will have to come back because there are so many places that we have not done . In broad strokes, the path will go from Christchurch to the Kaikoura Peninsula then towards Picton for the crossing to Wellington.New island, new road, and by State Highway 2 we go towards Hastings and Napier. We will leave the seaside for several days to go to Tongariro and Taupo. We will continue north towards Rotorua and Hamilton (without forgetting a detour via Hobbiton ) A detour to the Coromandel Peninsula and finally the almost north of the island with Whangarei and Waitangi to learn the history of this country. There will only be a few days left to spend towards Auckland and its suburbs before taking the plane back to the grayness of our European autumn. The majority of the boxes will be found, we have abandoned those where our English was lacking and where we could not understand the clue. Thanks to all the owners who brightened up our path, who took us to incredible places (that's also geocaching)In short, we had a great vacation, saw beautiful places that simply ask us to come back. We learned a lot about the history of this country and its traditions, it's a great motivation for our destinations.-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --Petit log en retard mais un peu plus complet maintenant que nous sommes rentrs la maison. Came to Littleton to check out the port and for the AL. Grabbed this cache and watched the ships being unloaded. Something in bags and some dirt looking thing. Dont know what either thing was. TFTC! OCW irondale
We are all the way down here in NZ to support our daughter at a sporting competition. And we are making the most of our time to check out the beautiful city of Christchurch and grab some Southern hemisphere caches! As mentioned in previous logs, coords are off but once you are at the correct object its a qef. Tftc
Parked at the freedom camping spot over at Navel Point, and headed out for a walk along the water front. Didn't notice the interesting info board right away, but when I did the cache was quickly found, nice hide here, TFTC
Nice to explore the area as I extended my work trip. Introduced my friend to the game too!
I've been many times but always too many suspicious muggles around. Today we were waiting for the ferry to Quail Island and I deployed the family to stand around eagerly reading the sign while I gave it a feel up. Tftc
S 043 36.310' E 172 43.342'We used these coordinated posted by a previous cacher to narrow down the search. Plenty of muggles but no one took note as we read the sign. All is well here.SL - TFTC!
This area looked too secure to be snooping around. Tried to be stealthy around waiting ferry passengers, but after a few attempts, the prying eyes of bystanders were to much for us. TFTC
Nice.Coordinates are a little bit off, so take a seat and think about a possible location.Tftc.
We are on a cruise with Queen Victoria. I was looking ahead to this port call at Lyttleton, because I wanted to find anything that commemorates the start of the Nimrod expedition on January 1st 1908 in the port of Lyttleton. This expedition is special to me, because I celebrated my 60th birthday with an outdoor simulation of that expedition using a self written Wherigo cartridge. It took me about 4 months to prepare this party and it was a huge success! Thanks for showing me this plaque!Greetings from GermanyJan
Found it - yup coordinates seem to be off but I used my geosense to find it. Nice to have something to do while waiting for the trip to Quail Island. Thanks for the cache!
Yes, coordinates were off but the cache is in the most obvious place around this region. Still took us a good few minutes! TFTC.
# #6,937 #----------This one took a good minute or two as I had put my hand on the cache but dismissed it and carried on looking. Felt like a bit of a dope once Id finally got it. All good here, quiet despite plenty of boats being docked in the area. TFTC!!! ----------> All geocaches are signed as mmmPIZZA or mPZ
We found this cache in Lyttleton at Port #5 of our New Zealand Cruise Tour. Our last cache in this port before heading back to the ship. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Stopped in Lyttelton on our cruise around New Zealand. We grabbed food for a picnic lunch at a local grocery and headed to the ferry for Diamond Harbor.Since we were early for the ferry, I tried finding this one, with no luck until I read a few logs and saw that the coords are off. Quick find once I had the right ones, and learned some interesting information. Then off to a nice time and beautiful scenery at Diamond Harbor. Thanks you for sharing with us.May the Fog Be With You!
We're cruising aboard The Ovation of the Seas and arrived into port early this morning. It's a beautiful, sunny, mild day. After riding the shuttlebus into town, we started off by foot exploring, hiking, and caching around the area. Made our way towards GZ where we were soon adding our ink to the log. Ran into a muggle bike rider who was very interested in caching after we explained the hobby. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl
Not an easy place to be subtle and use stealth. We searched we the coords took us but we could see nowhere to hide anything. We then read the coords are a bit out so spread out the search. Then we spotted GZ. Very interesting and informative. We didnt know that. TFTC
2nd attempt successfully located this one between muggles coming and going. Tftc
It was high muggle zone here today. But with the help more pairs of eyes to look, had no much trouble in finding it. Coords are out as most of the previous logs. Cache is all good here. TFTC
Fortunately we had read previous logs indicating the coordinates were inaccurate, so the cache was a fairly quick find at a location consistent with the hint. Sweetandsour's photo was also a good indicator. For us the cache was 9 metres east of the coordinates and ours were S43 36.310 E172 43.342. TFTC
Found with a bit of help from the office lady. Definitly needs new coordinates. Photo is a better indication.
My last find before catching the bus back to central CHCH. As I approcahed I saw what could be the obvious place - but GPS coords were still off by a few meters so I continued to their location - quick search but really nothing here that could match the hint. So I returned to my Gut instinct place and saw it easily. Sat on the table to sign the log. Interesting table history too.
I've come to ChCh for a few days to visit my teen who going to uni here. Given teenagers/uni students don't get up before it pm I decided to take a trip over to Lyttleton, with my mum who is also here for a dance symposium. We stopped in town for Blue cod and Chips for lunch - was very yummy - My mum bused back to CHCH and I stayed around as I had more time to occupy. After completing the ad lab I set about looking for a few trads close by the town.

On a geocahcing trip with the school, after a first find and lunch, we went to the bakery. We found a gingerbread man, another type of smiley face . At the terminal, we looked around in a few spots and couldn't find it. We went somewhere else. We looked again in first place and there it was. Container and logbook were in good condition. We made a few trucks honk. That was fun
Minergal was all over this one, insisted we waited out the muggles waiting for the ferry! I enjoyed watching a nearby ship being unloaded! TFTV
Tricky. Coordinates out by 6 mtrs. Spotted the cache but had to wait on heaps of muggles to clear the area. Found with Panda Dundee. TFTC
Forgot to log this yesterday. After our trip on the black cat around the harbour it started to rain once we got of the boat. This took a while to look for. I was a tight spot to fit my hand in but a cool magnetic cache. TFTC
We are having a very nice time exploring all different cities in New Zealand. What a beautiful place to vacation. We are having a fabulous time. We were exploring the sights nearby. After a trip to Christchurch we came back to Lyttleton for some shopping and some geocaching. While we were on one of the sidewalks with some other tourists, we were all witnesses to a road rage incident. It seems that one person did not like something that the other person had done and the chase was on, including sharp turns, skidding tires and shouting. Wow.
Thank you for creating this geocache for all of us to find. We appreciate it.

Walked over after our tour and had to wait for the ferry to arrive so we could search and success found it. Team Myers
Had to wait out the muggles sitting at the table near gz before we could give it a good look. Once they headed down to get on the ferry we had it in hand quickly. Signed and returned as found. TFTC and the smilie
We are on the Viking Mars for a cruise around New Zealand and Australia. Loved this beautiful little town and especially the gardens. After a hint from the girl in the ticket office, I was able to find this cache with the additional help of the hint. It's about 20' away from GZ. Signed log and replaced as found. Greetings from Texas, USA. TFTC and for adding to our fun today.
Too many muggles around to be able to really search, and wasn't sure which way off the coords were
After spending the day in Christchurch, this was my final find of the day before we reboarded Majestic Princess to continue our Christmas cruise around NZ ... next stop Picton tomorrow.

My partner made the find using Geosense while I was faffing around trying to follow the coordinates (which, as it turns out, are not very accurate)
Cool wee cache in an interesting spot- a nice easy find while waiting for our fish and chips
Thanks

Thanks
Arrived on board Coral Princess and decided to try for this one after doing the Adventure Lab here. Quite a few muggles around going to and from the ferry so we tried not to be too obvious in our search. Reading previous logs that the co-ords here are out quite a bit, doesn't help much. Gave up on this one, maybe we will come back one day.
Interesting reading information panels around the area.
Had to wait for a big group to board the ferry.

Found with Wisco Bryo on a dog walk. Coordinates are a little off so go for the obvious thing.
In Lyttelton for the day. No tours planed, so am out looking for caches. This one took some time to find it. The coordinates are a little off and you really had to think about the clue. One of the pictures helped.
Yay. The kids were so happy to find this. The coordinates a bit out on the navigator but fun!!!****
Managed to just arrive after all the ferry passengers had disembarked, and before the next set of tourists popped down. Cheers Gav
Finally got this one, my cords say 18m off on both my phones so may need to be double checked

After a great day on the island, I intended to make a find here. I was one of the last off the boat, and there were people signing the log, so I didn't need to work too hard to get my name on there. Thanks for carrying this one on, lyttletonwitch. A great spot to have one, keeps kids amused while waiting for ferries, I'm sure.
TFTC lytteltonwitch, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 11th of 11 today, making this find #3250

We were standing around waiting for the ferry when the CO asked if we had this one. Debsnz already had it but for some reason I didn’t. Managed to find and return while surrounded by muggles. Thanks for continuing to maintain this one.
