Very interesting, should be more like this underfoot and under whatever. Thanks TheWanglers
A joint effort to get the numbers out before we came over for the Mega. A quick find and signed with MummyPenny today. The ground was covered with fluffy stuff that sticks to clothes too easily - some kind of plant-released stuff, we guess. Thanks TheWanglers.
I'm assuming that squashed mess was the container. This one needs some love from the CO. TFTC!
Well that was a fun puzzle, even though it took me several goes to get it right. Arrived at the final and found a very squashed cache, but managed to extract the logbook to complete the necessary signing. Thanks for putting together.
On a trip to visit my sister and getting some caches for a challenge. This was one of my target caches as it filled a spot in my grid. Yeah. Cache was squashed but good. Thanks. This was the second of these types I have solved it gets easier.
A beautiful day and stunning views. Cache found safe and dry, very glad this has been replaced. Shocker of a puzzle and needed help, many hours spent. TFTC
I really enjoyed solving this, took several attempts but I finally finished it today. Once it was solved I was planning to head out for a walk, so why not a drive and a walk? From the logs it was very clear where it was going to be but sadly there was a lid hidden under there but no cache! Confident that I was in the right spot I got a container and spare log sheet out of my geocaching kit and replaced it, hope that's okay! Such a lovely area, went for a walk after I got the cache and it was lovely and peaceful. Thanks for the great puzzle, I solved it in excel, colour coded the boxes and then put all the numbers and letters in the empty squares in small font, then eliminated them as I could until I had one left and put it in bigger font. Worked well in the end but have to be so careful, one little mistake and unless I noticed it right away it was back to the start. Much fun and very satisfying to complete and then the geochecker confirmed
On ye bike and why not complete some of the caches I had solved. A nice ride. Road is great.

Mrs C had alot of fun solving this, enjoyed the challenge of trying to solve this. So stoked to complete this one. Went for a lovely drive today and stopped to pick up this one. Cache squashed but still works. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache DTguru.
I solved this one a while ago, I love doing sudoku puzzles and enjoyed working on it although I did have to restart a number of times after making mistakes. Sir Belac and I were on our way back to Christchurch after doing a day walk to Packhorse Hut and couldnt resist finding seeing we were passing. Thanks DTguru

Nice quick find once we.... Ugh I half did this log and now can't remember it! Many months later it's still in my drafts. I'm sure there was a great story. So sorry CO. Thanks for the cache!
I modified some code I had written to solve others a bit similar but only aids dies not solve. Went through several times but kept going wrong. Finally resorted to an online tool. Then came to gz and thought no way! Must be a T4 at least. But no was a lot easier. Thanks for that puzzle was great. Filled in a DT hole and also 6 mysteries in a row for my current streak.
Well, this looked like a tough one to decode. After pondering some lines of attack we cheated and found an online tool; why write a program when someone else has done it already! Today we made a very rapid find, despite the hint which we realised was a joke after extracting the flattened container from where it was tightly wedged under the heavy concrete object. Another hole in the D/T table filled. TFTC!
Solved this for a previous trip when was running Krazy K’s 160km run and didn’t sign it. Kiscardi has found it for me so logging it too.
Enjoyed the puzzle.
Enjoyed the puzzle.
Having a day caching while visiting the grannies up this way. Great to be able to fill some gaps on my DT grid with this find . Thanks to NZ Bozzy for solving the puzzle . Quick find today in a very pretty spot.
TFTC and bringing me here.

I’m in Christchurch for another visit for 4 days. This is my last day. On my own this time, I have picked up many puzzles. I hired a nice little car, very economical and quite sporty too. It was very clean when I picked it up but with all the back roads it got very dirty!
I was working on this puzzle primarily to fill my D/T grid, this fills one more and I have one more to go but the D5/3.5 by this C.O is impossible to solve for me. Maybe one day I'll pick up this last rating.
What a storm today! It's raining, it's freezing cold and I'm keeping my raincoat on at all times. The car does not turn off, it stays on to keep the car warm. i'm glad I wasn't out of the car long, the cache was a very quick find. Thanks for the puzzle, I learned something new.

Trying to complete our second round of our DT grid we thought we had this DT rating covered but one of the caches in AKL was changed to a higher T rating only a few weeks ago so so left us with another gap. That meant this one had to be solved a couple of days before the trip and it was a challenge that took quite a bit of time we didn't really have but happy to get it done before we left.
We had suffered a significant event in Tekapo the day before and it left us short on time for our last day of our tour. We had to make quite a detour to get here but fortunately still had enough time to fit it in prior getting back to the airport. No problem with the find, all good here. TFTC.

Phew, another D/T ticked off. Remember finding something here before there was a D/T series, nice recycling Thanks for the awesome series
We have decided this our challenge for this year is to fill the grid. Maybe not a good idea, considering how much we spent solving this puzzle. But very satisfying to finally grab this cache. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide.
I really enjoyed figuring out how to solve this puzzle. Sudoku isn't something I'm particularly good at. My goal this year is to fill in the D/T grid. Might be pushing it but have already got the 5/5. Found the cache thanks to your hint in the logs. It was without its lid but I found it close by and made sure it would stay on. Many thanks for the puzzle and cache. #3574
TFTC. With an early escape from work I planned to finally pick up a few solved puzzles in the general Lyttleton direction.
Another DT for the day. A lovely location that had me hanging around watching the kingfisher look for its supper.
Thanks DTguru for the effort involved in coordinating the puzzle creations and placing the caches

Solved this a long time ago - it was hard and we had to get the CO to confirm our thoughts before finally getting the tick. An easy find once at the beautiful location. Would never have come to this place if it had not been for two caches so thank you to the CO. Great puzzle indeed.
This was the seventh day of my driving trip down to Oamaru for Geofest 2017. I stopped every five to ten kms or so along the way to grab a cache. This expanded my driving time to a total of two weeks to get there and home again. I ended up going a total of 3,500 kms.
Another puzzle that required computing power, but still gave me lots of problems. The CO was nice enough to give me some help which shortened the solve time.
The cache container was smashed flat, so I worked with it to bring it back to the right shape. TFTC.

Out for a caching afternoon around the bays with the family. This cache was a quick find. TFTC.
It was such a nice day I decided on an impromptu morning of caching. My goal was to fill in a few spots on my D/T grid. This is another empty slot filled. I was looking forward to making that find (again ), so was sorry to see the old hide gone.

Out and about on a Sunday round the bays with Surveybase after a couple of rain interfered and sick children delayed weekends. Not sure of the final number found on this day but we found a few trads along with some of the D/T series. Sorry about the cut and paste log and thanks to all the CO's for their effort.
On a Sunday mission with Shannonp1. Grey old day but at least it isn't raining. This was solved some time ago. The cache was a quick easy find. Thanks for the effort put into the clever puzzle and of course the hide in a cool spot.
Caching day with the whanau, dragging the boys along also as we do not get many opportunities nowadays to cache as a team. The ambivalent morning turned into a nice mostly sunny day, and we managed to get to a few! TFTC!!

Yay!! A scheduled geocaching day off motherhood for me, a day of daddy bonding for hubby (Though baby is always so well behaved for him that it's totally not fair!!! ), and so mum & I were off to go find as much as time would allow!! (But mum thought it was a good idea to bring the boys also!! So it ended up being as much as time & the boys would allow before they started complaining too much about the fact that we were caching... ended up with 38 though if my calculations are right - and quite a few high T - so not too bad.
We signed all the logs as Team Polak for simplicity sake, and time sake, and save the trees sake. (Though neither of the two of us who will actually log these are Polaks anymore anway!
Speedy find here while rest of fam wondered over slowly...

A day caching with 2wombles to fill in some holes in our D/T grid or Month Placed grid and some others. This one for my D/T grid. I had spent a lot of hours on this puzzle. Thanks for this puzzle cache.
Decided to head out today with @Popmac to find a few caches that helped fill in some holes in our D/T grid or Month Placed grid. Obviously we found a few other caches on that way. The cache was a quick find. Thanks for the cache.
Another decent D/T combo ticked off today, not sure how we missed that one last time. This puzzle took ages, three brains at Xmas last year and much erasure of pencil marks to figure out. Really really quite glad to have it found now! Cheers
Found this but didn't log for some reason on the 24-8. Found again on 9-10-16. Cheers.
Kiwi Moose and I had a wet sunday morning drive, followed by a sunny afternoon. Nice.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Wow, this sudoku took ages to figure out. This would be right up there in the really-evil-puzzle department. It took a half dozen attempts before finally being solved (not including the family giving it a go over christmas and giving up in frustration) and hours of effort. So, here I am logging a DNF after a very good hunt around with Karma Reprint and myself today. Ho hum, onto the watchlist it goes. Cheers, enojyed the solving but would have loved to have found it too.
This was my nightmare cache for over a month, with the solution remaining tantalisingly out of reach, no matter how many attempts I made! I dread to think how many hours went into this..... Eventually, a friend put me out of my misery, and let me know that I'd been operating on an incorrect assumption. Once I'd realised the error of my ways, I finally had the solution about 30 minutes later. After the walk, this was a must find, to lay the ghost to rest. Really glad that the location and signing of the cache was straightforward! TFTC - have a FP out of sheer frustration..
When we saw this puzzle shortly after it was published we printed off two copies and set about solving it. We got a few spots filled in before one of us decided to try a different medium. With this we were able to continually make small incremental gains which kept us wanting to make more - and we spent most of the day working our way through until we had the whole grid filled in.
This afternoon we walked to GZ (the co-ords were spot on) and noticed something that made some sense of the hint. Checked it out and discovered the nicely camoed cache. We would have to agree with Troodles that this cache deserves favourite points for both the puzzle and hide. Many thanks.

I must write a note for the solve on this one as I'm not sure when I'll get to make the find. This was a totally solo effort to solve and one which called on all my Excel spreadsheeting skills (I'm not a programmer like Streetwlaker) to come up with an effective worksheet to make progress. Despite this it took in total 5 false starts before finally on the 6th attempt when I got through to an end result without ending in conflict. Hours and hours of time went into this and it has certainly been one of the most frustrating and satisfying puzzles of its type I have ever done. Thanks for the grey hairs and tired eyes
MadCat asked me last week if I wanted to geocaching with her today. It was meant to be because no one called me in to work and the weather was perfect. MadCat9 did the driving and we set out on our big adventure.
I remember looking unsuccessfully before. A very clever hide. When we first arrived I was reliving the old dnf nightmare but this time it was a different cache and I found it.

Found whilst on a MadNosy mission with Nosynel. Probably the less said about the puzzle the better but I could think of a few choice words @#$! Was impressed with the camo for the hide, fortunately my new GPS honed right in on it or might have had a bit of trouble! Thanks for the mind bending puzzle TG, my brain is still a bit squiggly but this fresh air is doing it some good!
#9762 (FTF #167). I've solved puzzles involving quite a few Sudoku variations; this would be up there among the toughest. I had three or four goes using pencil and paper, and though I made good progress each time, sooner or later I'd cock something up. My eyes had been a bit sore, and staring at this puzzle wasn't helping, so it was time for plan B. I wrote a program that was smart enough to work out placements in a number of situations. By the time I was finished Troodles had 10 or so answers we were pretty sure of (based on our pencil and paper efforts), so I plugged those into the program. With those in place, it got a fair way through, and when I looked at the lists of possibilities for each remaining unfilled square, quickly spotted another answer. With that answer plugged in, the program solved the puzzle, and Troodles soon had some coords worked out (which got the green tick). Phew! That was a toughie. Our hard work was rewarded by an FTF (after a week of crap weather, I took a day off work so we could grab some more of the D/T series). TFTC.
This puzzle took quite some time to solve as we both kept making mistakes and then had to start afresh. After discarding a couple of messed up paper copies, I made a spreadsheet with coloured backgrounds for the different squiggles and found it easier to work with, but still slow progress.
After about 4 attempts, StreetWalker decided to do a more tech approach than me and wrote a program to do the grunt work. After fixing a bug or 2, we had a solution, taking much less time than we had already spent using paper and pen.
A quick find today, and a nice hide, though I'm sure I have seen a similar hide before. Well worth a favourite point for both the puzzle (thanks TG) and the cache (thanks TW).
