Logs
collecting caches while in the area, some people don't listen, i said start the other way, tftc
Had stayed overnight at the nearby freedom camping spot, and made sure to grab this cache in the morning before heading off over to Invercargill. Started at the wrong end, but soon made the find here, TFTC
Good parking, took a bit of a search...always start at the wrong end LOL...thanks for the hide in a great location.
I'm down from Paihia for the Dunedin Mega event. We did a lot of caching around there between Friday and Sunday. Then on Monday we went down to Invercargill. The plan was 1 day coming down picking up puzzles as we headed south. Tuesday was doing the Big I and the penguin series. Fortunately we also had time to collect Cliften Swing Bridge and Monkey Island. Today is Curio Bay, Slope Point and Bluff as well as a few in Invercargill. Thursday was driving to Middlemarch for the old Donovan cache while collecting a lot of solved puzzles on the way and generally doing most of Middlemarch. Friday we headed up to Christchurch where I was going to spend the weekend with my cousin before flying home on Sunday. We had a great day today despite having to wait out a few showers. Our initial plan was to do Bluff first but the tide was right to go and do the Curio Bay earthcaches and Slope Point first. We then headed down to Bluff. It was very windy up to the lookout so it was nice to be back in a calmer place. It took a bit of hunting to locate this hide as there were lots of places to put it. Thanks for this cache **No oyster was harmed in Bluff by this geocacher. **
Day Fourteen of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris. The Mega day today and we spent it traveling from Dunedin to Invercargill. The weather improved this morning, and only occasional shower during our trip.We left early and were in Invercargill by lunchtime.A great sign. Lots of spots for invisible glue though. Finally spotted the right one. Thanks, Robmc.
Day 14 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc and we say farewell to Dunedin and head to Invercargill so the fellas can visit the motorcycle museums. Most of the morning was just driving the scenic route with intermittent rain, time constraints and some closures meaning we skipped quite a few caches. After we arrived and the fellas had their fill we toured around town and headed to Bluff for the afternoon until hunger and cold sent us back indoors. Thanks for contributing to the fun
#4058 Today is day 24 of my geocaching vacation in New Zealand. I'm driving the scenery route from Invercargill to Dunedin for [Geo Toroa (Dunedin, NZ)](https://coord.info/GCA7ZHD), the Mega this weekend and finding geocaches along the way. Found it! granville86a, thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on October 24, 2024 @ 14:58:22[GC5X0GC] Welcome to Bluff was a D1.5/T1.5 Micro Traditional Cache at the time of finding.
We visited Bluff today and did the local Ad Lab as well as a few traditional caches. A good day for it! Left this one till we were departing the area. The cache took a moment or two to spot. #7295. TFTC.
We tried for aaaaages and looked at other comments but no luck this will haunt us for ever
After five months walking Te Araroa from Cape Reinga, i cant believe this is the last day and there is only 8.4km left to walk to bluff... a wee bit more zinging and zapping and of course one last hill climb. But first, after staying at a fatmstay close by for the night first up we passed this iconic landmark advertising ones arrival in bluff. The obligatory snapshots were taken before I set about the cache hunt. Luckily I wisely stood back to look rather than get up close and possible and spied the stash immediately. My thanks to the cache owner granville86a for placing one in this photogenic location.-- This log is trackable ! ---- Feel free to discover ---- Please mention, in which cache you've seen this code: ---- 3TABQX --

TFTC, an easy find. This is where we had lunch on the first day of our Te Araroa walk a few years ago.
A quick trip to the end of the country. Not great weather and few people about. Followed the hints, including the ones in previous logs, and soon had it done. The sign is pretty cool and so are all the oysters shells. Thanks for the cache.

Thank you. David and Noeline.

Welcome to Bluff or in our case Goodbye tonBliff as we are on our way out. Love the sign and Geokid 7 was stoked to spot the cache. Thanks heaps .
Found on camp as we biked from Stead street to the Bluff sign with Ruru_nz.
We made it.
We made it.
A rather wet day. Stopped for a quick cache & dash here. Quite a bit of 'attractive' material to search round, but managed to spot the cache quite quickly. Thanks for placing.
Grrrrr! This one doesn't like me as I did look in on it when I was a novice without luck. Grrrrr!
Ran into another couple doing the same thing. Another good thing about caching...you meet some cool people. Thanks for the cache
Staying in bluff for the night before heading to Stewart island tomorrow for 3 weeks..

Nice to meet Tania and Julia today. Doing a werlwind caching B4 our flight back to welly.
I visited this cache in January with Infoferret and despite looking high and low for ages we couldn’t find the cache. Today 6 pairs of eyes, 2 pairs who had found it before, where looking for it. Soon I had my hand on the cache, the log was retrieved and signed. I am unsure how we didn’t find the cache in January. Apparently the cache container has cache creep. Many thanks to wombats _4 and TDronsfield for bringing us out here today. TFTC granville86a.
Four of us had been over to Raikura and Ethness had the brilliant idea to put a call out to meet some local cachers. The few hours that followed will be a highlight memory for sure. We started here, with the cache having some significance, as well as being a great hide. How often can you get photos of all of your geocaching mates in less flattering positions! Duly heard the Found it and our welcome to Bluff was official. TFTC and the fun.
25 October 2021 5:44 pm spent a long time searching high and low with no luck.
Cache 844 grabbing a few caches while the weather is still fine, thought I had better grab this one you can’t just go past this one and not stop, searched for longer than I’d like to admit but spotted it eventually not quite where I thought it was going to be DOH cache is in great shape T4TC
Was a nice afternoon trip to the deep south, sun was shining and not much of a breeze. Cache was in good condition.

We liked the sign and it didn’t take Mr nzk too long to find the cache. All quiet here today. TFTC granville86a.
On a PWGT expedition to the deep south with rustynz, rebel98, gorby and boneybruce. Great fun down here, great caches and an awesome visit to Stewart Island as well. TFTC!!!
A trip has been planned for 4 days away (1-4th May, 2021) to collect all off “RIMA” – part of the Pokai Whenua Geo Tour in the bottom third of the South Island including Stewart Island. This time round, there is myself, rustynz, Rebel98, FMZ and his skeleton called Bruce. We have picked up a car at Dunedin airport and will return there.
Today we are heading to Bluff and the ferry across the Foveaux strait to Stewart Island, this will be my first time to go there. Can't wait. rusty hopped out the car for this one and made short work of the cache.

Was not looking forward to looking underneath with all the shells underneath, luckily not really required, and it did not take long to locate the cache
Happy to be signing the log, and being welcomed to Bluff
Thanks for the hide granville86a

Some muggles showed up while we were writing in the log book but we remained stealth, pretending we were taking photos, and they offered to take one for us! Cache is safely back where it was found, and no muggles are any the wiser! TFTC!
Found on our Apr21 South Island Roadtrip. Coming all this way we had to get a cache in Bluff but the weather was against us in more ways than one. We thought we would give this one a go and quickly found it. TFTC
I arrived in Invercargill today to have a holiday exploring some of Southland and Stewart Island. A great place to stop for a photo, tftc!
Stopped on the way to the ferry. Lucky it was a quick find as others were waiting for photos in front of the sign.

Down here with my Mum & brother for a week travelling around the bottom of the South Island. We are heading around and across to the Milford Sound.
I did love this welcome sign it is well thought out depicting the locality..right down to the ground being covered with oyster shells, big ones at that ! I searched the wrong end initially but it was soon in hand signed and returned . this is worth a fav point as the sign is well worthy of being made a focal point. While visiting Invercargill i decided a trip out to The Bluff was required as it is something like thirty eight years since we visited here . I took some photos which i will log once i am back home with a faster computer.
thank you for this cache .
thank you for this cache .
Weve been touring around for a month now and seeing we were in Bluff had to do the tourist thing and have oysters and chips - for lunch. Now to find a spot to stop. Thanks for the placement granville86a
Well that sign is not going to blow away in a hurry well constructed and a nice tidy hide ..thanks Granville86a
Been here a couple of times and have never found, finally found it today and thought how did we miss that the previous times lol, tftc
Spent a lovely afternoon in Bluff with my son and his family walking and geocaching. Found with Span85 and Iroquoispilot. TFTC.
