This was fun and quickly done with the right TOTT and Baktrak climbing the rocks. Thanks TheWanglers
One of the easier finds this morning. We balanced on this structure with more confidence than our earlier finds. Coords spot on. Thanks TheWanglers.
Not many caches make me angry but this one did ....the solved Coordinates are wrong...like over 60 Meters wrong according to my phone GPS so of course I was searching the wrong area for far too long trying to make sense of the hint . Why do this??? Reading previous logs the penny dropped to where I should be looking still couldn't see anything from underneath and wasn't game enough to try out my balancing skills on my own ......
Stopping in Christchurch for a couple of days as I head towards the Dunedin MEGA. Ironically Im collecting several of the D/T series that I had no chance of solving for the 2015 Christchurch MEGA.Now Dunedin is publishing an impossible D/T series so I suppose I will have solved most of them in time for the 2033 Invercargill MEGA and so it goes on.This was fun. I did what others suggested and climbed down into the creek in order to spot the cache.Getting to the above cache area was a challenge as the council have been trimming trees and left the branches blocking both access points. Instead I had to access from the road and then as I was crouched down signing the log a large truck rumbled by just a couple of metres away. All part of gaining a desirable D/T I suppose.TFTC +FP
Well this was fun. The sun was shining this evening when I called around. Took Hal's suggestion to look from below to spot the cache. It was a lot easier from that point. Except standing back up once I had replaced the cache. What fun !Thanks to the Wrangers I think this is a blank spot on my third trip around the grid. Spotting around at Diamond Harbour tonight. It is my very first visit to this side of the harbour. Beautiful day for it. FP
I'm rather pleased with myself here. I solved these easier ones eons ago but today is the first time I have come out this way to find any of them. I previous logger definitely find not sign the cache as they haven't signed the log and the photo is inaccurate for the actual hide. TFTC# 20,816
This is my fourth geocaching excursion to **beautiful New Zealand**!
Due to Covid [xx(] I had to wait for 3 long years to again return to my beloved Middle-Earth [xx(].
This time it is (was ) a road trip enduring for 26 days, covering both North- and South-Island.
Sadly, everything comes to an end [xx(]...
Today was the second-last caching-day - but the weather was fine and the tour turned out to be very rewarding !
This geo-treasure was supposed to contribute to the finds of today.
Followed exactly the instructions in the checker - but couldn't find an Ice Cream Box .
Anyway - big thanks to the owner DTguru[:X] - and best regards from Germany !

KR proposed a maintenance trip so we decided to catch up with OP44 and then make a stop here first. A potential GZ seemed obvious but wasn't quite right. Some people gave up but KR pushed on thru for success. The cache lid had blown away so now you're looking for an ice cream box. Thanks DTguru.
We headed over to Diamond Harbour today, picking up a number of caches here and there. A great day for it and lots of pleasant scenery along the way! Managed to spot this cache more quickly than I was expecting to and, yes, it was a joint effort as recorded in pinocchio59’s log below. #5051. TFTC.
I'm currently down in Christchurch geocaching with my brother tbird 53. Today we came over to Diamond Harbour picking up geocaches, going on walks and enjoying the scenery. I wholeheartedly endorse the previous loggers comments - this cache is definitely easier to achieve with two or more people present. My brother scrambled down below and I wandered along the pipes - he pointed out where the cache was and I picked it up and wrote in the log. A definite favourite from me, TFTC
We were out for the day to find some solved puzzle and other caches. A lovely day to be out enjoying the drive and walks in the area. This was a fun cache that required team work from us. Mr C walked the pipes, Mrs C slid on bottom to go under and look up after not having any luck the easy way. Then managed to guide Mr C to the spot yeh!. Thanks so much for the puzzle, many laughs getting our hands on the cache and log TheWanglers.
On a day trip with Busypaws and this one took a few moments to find. Pleased that I was with another person doing this cache. We are now thinking of joining the circus with the skills that we gained today.
I have had this solved for a while and wondered about the terrain! Glad I was with someone today. Number one feat, does it hold me? yes it does. Which particular one is it under? so back under to see, ahaa that one. Lytteltonwitch was the good soul to do the acrobatics required to gain the beastie, a real joint effort and VERY glad to sign this one off. TFTC and the journey T. TFTC
Today Jude_E and I banded together to grab some D/T caches heading out towards Diamond Harbour and Camp Bay. We signed some logs as JJ or Jude and Jess. Being Waitangi Day there were lots of people out and about enjoying the water and the sun. The hint here made finding the cache a bit easier, but it was a bit of a balance signing the log here. Thanks for the puzzles and the adventure!
For a while now Jessdaphne and I have been solving the d/t puzzles locally to try and fill in a few more gaps in our own grids. We are starting the day with me needing 7 and Jess needing 6. The goal for today was to find the ones we had solved from Governor's Bay through to Camp Bay. Jess did the honours here. Thanks for the straightforward puzzle and more challenging hide.

On a D/T solved ones tour around Diamond harbour. This one was retrieved without too much difficulty. TFTC
Solved a long time ago but didn't get a chance to come out this way for ages. Found while the kids waited in the car. I spied the container from one angle, and retrieved from another. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 1950
Out on a Sunday Mission with Shannonp1 specifically to find some long solved puzzles including some D/T's. This was a quick easy find. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining the cache.
Got a day pass so went out and about with Surevybase for another crack at some caches out around the bays. Had a few laughs and more than a few scrambles and generally a good time. Thanks to all the CO's for their time in placing these caches. Sorry about the cut and paste. TFTC.
TFTC. Today was a slightly cooler summers day. Perfect opportunity to pick up a few D/T solved puzzles.
Do you know how much I hate heights????
Thanks the team of puzzle creators and cache placers.

My inlaws were down visiting for the week, so some caching was planned. The day was pretty hot, so we didn't get as much caching done as we wanted to.
Solved this puzzle a while ago, and we eventually located the cache today. Thanks for the puzzle, and the cache.

Down in Christchurch for a week,a day out caching with 2wombles. Thanks for the puzzle cache.
I have been curious for a while what some of these higher T rated hides would actually be... a few tricky ones no doubt. I chose to ignore the hint and suggested method for this one, instead managing to retrieve sign and replace the cache from below using just a couple of sticks... felt pretty pleased with myself. And all I went down there for was a recce. GLB1721 TFTC (4136)
Out for a drive to gather up a few more of this series. Followed the geochecker's instructions on how to access this cache. I could see the prize from the end I started at, which made it a lot easier. TFTC.
Ah yes, the terrain and fast moving 4 wheel muggles at this time of day make this a high risk retrieval. Great to have this one signed off ! Thanks TW for the chalenge !

On a caching mission with AngelG27, Fox in Jox and IVSS_XX to find as many of the D/T81 caches as possible in a day. I was in NZ for my daughter's wedding, and my other daughter's graduation and planned to visit Christchurch to maintain caches and find as many of these as possible. AngelG27 and Fox in Jox decided to take the opportunity to have a holiday in NZ and join me, so over the last few months we have been beavering away at solving these. After some hints last night we (mainly Fox in Jox) were still solving today as we enjoyed a beautiful day's caching around Lyttleton harbour. Unfortunately we didn't get them all solved, or find all the ones we had solved so maybe another visit in the future. IVSS_XX took the opportunity to join us for the day.
Easily found by IVSS_XX. TFTC.

AngelG27, TikvaNZ and I have travelled from Canberra to find caches from the D/T 81 Series that we had managed to solve by ourselves, or as a team (some with nudges along the way from COs or previous finders). We were joined by IVSS_XX, so we decided to log as team F.A.I.T. for brevity.
A quick puzzle solve and a quick collect by IVSS_XX . TFTC

This trip to NZ was long planned, with the DT 81 series the main focus. TikvaNZ, Fox and I did lots of puzzle solving in preparation, many solved individually, but others solved cooperatively and some with a little push. Today was the day to make good on our solves and we headed out with Ivss_xx (signed as FAIT) to collect a stack of them. It was a long day, but we grabbed around 50 of them, with a few others thrown in for good measure. Unless otherwise indicated, caches were found in good order and in accordance with the hint.
Thanks for the cache and the fun!

Caching day with the whanau, dragging the boys along also as we do not get many opportunities nowadays to cache as a team. The ambivalent morning turned into a nice mostly sunny day, and we managed to get to a few! TFTC!!

Yay!! A scheduled geocaching day off motherhood for me, a day of daddy bonding for hubby (Though baby is always so well behaved for him that it's totally not fair!!! ), and so mum & I were off to go find as much as time would allow!! (But mum thought it was a good idea to bring the boys also!! So it ended up being as much as time & the boys would allow before they started complaining too much about the fact that we were caching... ended up with 38 though if my calculations are right - and quite a few high T - so not too bad.
We signed all the logs as Team Polak for simplicity sake, and time sake, and save the trees sake. (Though neither of the two of us who will actually log these are Polaks anymore anway!
Brother and I climbed here, He retrieved, I signed.

What we lacked in height we made up with our trusty caching tools. I don't know what the passing traffic thought. TFTC
Out for a Sunday drive and collecting some DT puzzles solved a while ago. Mr Sharpe had the honours of retrieving this one which was a good thing as Mrs Sharpe doesn't have the height advantage he does. Thanks for the series.
#12769. We had some implements in the car that helped in the retrieval and replacement. Nice hide! TFTC.
The puzzles in the D/T series with solutions on the other side of the harbour have been beckoning us for a while and today, with the mild weather forecast, seemed an ideal opportunity to turn as many as possible into smiles.
Had a wee bit of trouble with this puzzle, not helped by mis-entering what turned out to be the correct co-ords in geochecker. We didn't take the advice of the geochecker hint, instead used another method to access the cache. Luckily no one else was about while we were there. TFTC.

We used teamwork to get this cache. I followed the directions in the hint and the rest of the team directed me from a safer location where they could see the cache. Tftc!
[green] Out with Hanknstone again, doing a miscellaneous set starting with the Smile series and then working on the D\T group. After caching the last couple of days in the rain is was nice to finish the day with dry feet - sunny all day! (Surprise!).
The coordinates here are about 9m out. Normally tolerable (I don't acccept errors of more than 10 - instant complaint about coordinate sloppiness), but it had us going up the stream which was plausible for the terrain rating. In the end we gave up and dug out the hint.

Found while in Christchurch for the NZ Mega with our Aussie mates from back home.
You encouraged us to this spectacular area and we saw the best views ever!
We had a great day cruising around collecting all the DT's we managed to solve prior to our trip.
Hopefully next time we can finish the series off!

Day nine of my New Zealand caching holiday. Today I was with Skullracing, The Geo Princess, Coruze , troo bloo, vk3gs&cc and sharkiefan. The weather was looking spectacular for the third day in a row and it was day two of our DT solved puzzle hunt. Some spectacular scenery was seen. We made a plan to drive to the end and pickup caches on the way back, but it ended up being a mistake as most were on the wrong side of the road. Anyway, a great day was had by all.
These views are certainly not getting boring

Out for some Mega caching with Kyzabra and Jinta29 today. Beautiful country cached today..Thank you TheWanglers for placing and maintaining this cache.
Jinta29 and I decided to head out this morning to grab and grab as many D/T combinations as possible. The Green Geckos decided to join us so off we went.
Nice hide here with good safe parking.
TheWanglers - Kyzabra found your cache D/T 1.5/4.0 (Canterbury) on 26/10/2015, 7:10 AM. This is my find #4177 and find #2 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

Kyzabra and I headed over for the Christchurch Mega from Perth, WA. We teamed up with The Green Geckos for the DT series today.
A lot of planning was involved with literally hundreds of puzzles solved and we targeted some highly favorited caches as well as those that filled gaps in grids and calenders!
We had a fantastic time caching in the cooler climate and with no fear of snakes or other nasties! Christchurch is my old home town but I did not know about caching when I lived there so it was fun exploring the City with a different objective.
We were glad to grab the smiley on this one and we replaced the container as found. Thanks TheWanglers for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

Found with my tools (skullracing, ahomburg & coruze) as well as some other Aussie cachers. We made a go of the solved DTs that we had. Very few by me....
We picked a cracker of a day to be out and about. I am pretty badly sunburnt. We went from the furthermost cache to the ones closer to town. Probably not a good idea as they were all on the other side of the road or so it seemed. A great series and a lot of fun. Tftc

Day 3 of my New Zealand caching tour in the lead up to the NZ mega, and the day was mostly spent chasing down the puzzles that I had solved of the D/T geoart series. Another nifty little puzzle to solve, but GZ was where the real fun was had. Initially went too low for the search, but it was equally as fun to go exploring underneath. Came back up top, and soon spotted the cache amid a few stares from passing cars!
Gratias TheWanglers.

We had made a quick solve of the puzzle. Today we parked a short distance from GZ and walked over to see just was meant by the hint. Followed the instructions but could not feel the cache within the area we could reach. We changed our position and were then able to spot the cache. Working as a team, one returned to make the grab while the other directed the hand. Thanks.
Tufty and I spent 7 hours signing off most of our solved Mega Group's D/T puzzles. This brought to mind a similar tricky puzzle placed some years ago. This was cache #11 (of 35) for the day signed off. Thanks Mega Group for the great work in placing these caches.
BaldEd and I had previously agreed that we would go together to try for the D/T series puzzles that we had solved. Today is the day for the first onslaught to sign them off.
Cheers for the cache and series.

When I(vo) arrived in Newzealand the weather was really dreary, so I hade enough time to solve some mysteries. This one was solved by "ca" in switzerland! Today I went for a longer trip around the bay with a two brasilien muggles to collect some off the solved mysteries. Due to the hint I found this one quickly. Thanks for the mystery and the cache. Cheers from switzerland!
Started the D/T series today this was my 5th find. I found 14 today and 1 DNF (I did try hard to get to, I just got very muddy and wet) Thank you for the hard work in building this series. I followed the hint for this one.
Starting to get into the harder terrain ones now and while we did as instructed to start with it did feel precarious so decided another approach was in order and this proved much more productive. Thanks Mr KFNZ for doing this one ! Nice easy puzzle solve on the other hand.

[Green] Ah! Logic! To me, the circle is the wrong shape to use here. None the less, I worked it out, ready for the big October trip.
With the solving part of the cache out of the way, it was time for Karma Reprint and I to hit the roads and tracks and pick up a few of these D/T caches. I'm also not going to give much away but I'm glad the creek was a bit tamer today and I can stretch. Cheers
NIce parking close to GZ, quick walk and the cache was there for the signing.
After a bit of DT puzzle solving Kiwi Moose and I went forth and collected a few smiley's on the DT series, and a few other caches that we just happened to pass by.
