Out and about with Baktrak, nothing like a climb to wake you up.Puzzles for this difficult series were solved in the wee small hours back home in Sydney.Well hidden cache finally found. Thanks TheWanglers
Found with MummyPenny today on our post Mega trip. One of several we worked on before hopping across. A considered climb and methodical search finally yielded the prize for us. Thanks TheWanglers.
A trip over the dittecch and I'm in the land of the big white cloud. Yep, Made it to Christchurch and onto Dunedin for a week of caching. DAY Three, (24/10) yep, its the same crew of Bluewattle, Snickersallan, Wollaston and myself touring around town. Today we are doing a series of challenge caches, some solved puzzle caches and a few multis. It's a long drive to Diamond Harbour and Deep Gully Bay before heading over to West Melton and surrounds to get some of the eclipse series. Had a few others on the list as we passed by collecting some of Christchurchs cool caches. There are a few set target caches along the way. The are some amazing areas of Christchurch and I have enjoyed driving around and seeing the fantastic sights, thank you for showing us around. All logs were signed and all caches replaced as found. Thanks for the placements.
Our second full day of venturing out and about with Aussie geo friends, picking up some solved puzzles, and selected others on our to-do list.It was a beautiful spring day, with lots of laughs and fun along the way. Most of the hides were found quickly, and it is a real credit to all the cache owners who placed them for the benefit of the geocaching community.
Thanks for placing and maintain for our enjoyment Found with Snickersallan, Wollaston and chamadVisiting Christchurch for a few days before heading down to attend Geotora Mega
Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. TFTC TheWanglers
Stopping in Christchurch for a couple of days as I head towards the Dunedin MEGA. Ironically Im collecting several of the D/T series that I had no chance of solving for the 2015 Christchurch MEGA.Now Dunedin is publishing an impossible D/T series so I suppose I will have solved most of them in time for the 2033 Invercargill MEGA and so it goes on.My first find for the day. A short scramble and a quick find.TFTC
found this today while staying at Diamond Harbour and coming around here for a bike ride . Beautiful day for a bike ride. The road was pretty quite and I found most of the caches with the hint relatively easily. Thanks to TheWranglers for placing and maintaining these D/T Caches, I need a lot of different ones for a challenge I am working on so very pleased to add 6 more to the list today
Very pleased to be making these climbs when the ground is nice and dry because it would be very challenging and slippery when wet. So many people enjoying the water and the beach below on this scorching hot day. TFTC # 20,824
A scrabble up and a quick find. Nice to have new log paper. Just in time as it started to pour. Thanks
This is my fourth geocaching excursion to **beautiful New Zealand**!
Due to Covid [xx(] I had to wait for 3 long years to again return to my beloved Middle-Earth [xx(].
This time it is (was ) a road trip enduring for 26 days, covering both North- and South-Island.
Sadly, everything comes to an end [xx(]...
Today was the second-last caching-day - but the weather was fine and the tour turned out to be very rewarding !
This geo-treasure contributed to the finds of today. Cool! [^]
The last catch of the day ...
A big thanks to the owner DTguru [:X] for the mystery, for hiding and maintaining this cache [^] - and best regards from Germany !

After getting the nearby 5/5, it was off to revisit these previous solved caches. The weather wasn't the best but I had to debunk the "Mr Cuddly Brick doesn't cache in the rain thing" that was floating around the community.

A quick scramble up. Was getting a bit nervous for a moment until I located the right place to look.
Decided to go for a drive and have another try. A bit of a scramble on a fine morning. The view is spectacular. Thanks for replacing the cache well worth the climb. TFTC
On a little day trip around the bays to pick up a few solved DT series and the odd trad. This was a good scramble but Mrs coconuts3 and I managed it with no hassle really. Grass isn't too wet or too dry really - all to our advantage. Log signed a tucked up againTFTH
Out today with busy paws to find a few solved puzzle caches. A beautiful drive with stunning views. Actually quite chuffed to get a 4.5 terrain and remain in one piece. Thanks for the puzzle and cache DTguru.
Another good dirt road to drive along. There were surfers on the beach. The cache container has been replaced so that this series can be kept alive. The cache is by a totara fence post.
Day 2 of the Loopppiiieee Tour (top to bottom, east to west). We are targeting the TWGTs for GraciesGPSfun; as well as the PWGT, CANZ, D/T and some oldie caches for both of us, as well as driving many kilometres AND, just as important, seeing the sights of the South Island and having a lot of fun. Scrambled all around , went over the fence and scrambled some more without success. We will come back if anybody else finds it.
Eldest son was taking part in sailing from over at Cass B so I decided to make the most of the early start to my day and drive around Lyttelton Harbour. Something I have been wanting to do for a while but no one else in the family wanted to do. Far too long sitting in the car.
After having enough of driving I stopped for a random cache which gave me a chance to check my GPSr and stretch my legs. My next cache was selected to help me to complete The Ancient Wonders set. This therefore became my third cache for the day, plus the one I was most worried about.
I had discussed where I was going before leaving Cass Bay and received some helpful information about the road. So I decided to park up at the first opportunity once the gravel started and to walk the rest of the way. On the way to this cache, but not on the way back there were several cars that passed my in both directions. So I was glad I was not having to negotiate my way past them, figure out where the caches were and find suitable parking space.
Once again I wondered what I had got myself into. Well it is a 4.5, what did I really expect!? I left the GPSr near the bottom so I would have two hands free as that had worked really well for me at the previous cache. It took several attempts to find a point I was happy to climb up from. I had no clue as I had loaded everything from GSAK and somehow that piece of information had been lost. So I checked the object that stood out from the rest the most and came up blank. So with out my GPSr I then had to decide which way do I go. At which point I climbed over the fence made a decision and went for it. Option number three had the cache. Not sure how it stayed in place.
Log signed I recrossed the fence in the same place and was thankful for a lack of traffic as I made my way down the backwards so as to stay low to the ground. Very satisfying after a few false starts and yes another square ticked off on the D/T grid.
Celebrations were had as I found my second for the day and a new square filled on my D/T grid. Thanks to everyone who helped placing and maintaining this series of puzzle caches.

Solved this puzzle quite a while with a many of the other DT puzzles. Was hoping to pickup quite a few around the Diamond Head and Camp Bay area but we were starting to run later and had a long way to go to get to Greymouth for the night so just one area of the caches on this trip. Really enjoyed the views from the area on what had turned out to be a beautiful afternoon.
We drove to the end of the road and Mrs B dropped me off to grab the first one while she turned around. Managed to scramble up top, sign the log and have a short look at the scenery in time to be picked up on her return visit. TFTC

Today Jude_E and I banded together to grab some D/T caches heading out towards Diamond Harbour and Camp Bay. We signed some logs as JJ or Jude and Jess. Being Waitangi Day there were lots of people out and about enjoying the water and the sun. Thanks for the puzzles and the adventure!
For a while now Jessdaphne and I have been solving the d/t puzzles locally to try and fill in a few more gaps in our own grids. We are starting the day with me needing 7 and Jess needing 6. The goal for today was to find the ones we had solved from Governor's Bay through to Camp Bay. Thanks for the puzzle and cache. Nice bit of exercise with this one.

Found on a caching journey into Mid Canterbury today with Bitsprayer and Erninz. All caches found in good condition. Really enjoyed the challenge and the many hours spent on the puzzles caches to unravel the coordinates. Also great to travel along the many roads in the area. Many thanks to the various cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. TFTC
Well thanks to Dwarps good use of his spare time, Bitsprayers navigation, I was just able to really stretch my legs at GZ and make another good find.
Thanks for placing this series

Here we finally used another tool, that we had in the car for the first steep ascent. Managed to get up, sign the log and came down in one piece. Glad to have this done, but not quite sure whether to look into more caches with this T rating. TFTC
Quite a long hike up the mountain for this , deserves the terrain rating . This is my mission for the day, the one I wanted
Out on a tour past Purau picking up solved D/T caches. Scrambled up to a quick find. TFTC!
With time running out, I decided to pretty much head straight to this cache from Orton Bradley, as the caches at the end of this road were main goals. Got here, scrambled up, quick find. Great views. There was a function and way too much activity here to get a couple of other PnGs, but happy to knock this one off. TFTC DTguru.
A long weekend in Chch to celebrate the good work our planet does. There it is, whizzing round the sun at 23 degrees tilt or whatever, just doing its job, and I have now observed 50 laps of this loyal service. No big achievement on my part - I, and a few select others, have just kept myself fed and watered long enough to witness it, but nevertheless I have been summoned to Chch to celebrate this fact.
So regretting not heading down a day or two earlier, I made sure it was a very early start today. So much so that I was able to get from Blenheim to Lyttelton by 10am or thereabouts. A few hours caching up my sleeve then, before the others finish their work and we can get on with the weekend.
A good chance to find some solved D/Ts and various others on the way, as well as soaking in the views of the harbour on a glorious day. TFTC to all the COs.

Was out for a Monday night drive and decided to drive somewhere randomly. My randomness was onto a winner as it is quite nice down here. It was great to be able to drive around some hills and some decent corners (something I'm missing about Dunedin). It's funny really, every time I mention Christchurch has a hill deficiency I am quite soundly told off by a Cantabrian and reminded that there are the Port hills . I sat around at gz for a while admiring the view. Thanks
Out on a Sunday Mission with Shannonp1 specifically to find some long solved puzzles including some D/T's. This was a quick easy find. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining the cache.
Got a day pass so went out and about with Surevybase for another crack at some caches out around the bays. Had a few laughs and more than a few scrambles and generally a good time. Thanks to all the CO's for their time in placing these caches. Sorry about the cut and paste. TFTC.
Very straightforward find and a good puzzle. Wonderful place to have a cache. Many thanks.
TFTC. Today was a slightly cooler summers day. Perfect opportunity to pick up a few D/T solved puzzles.

So glad the difficulty was low on this one as I was able to work out the puzzle easily. Phew! I get frustrated with ones I can't solve. The terrain is a different story at my age of 68 but a lot of fun anyway. I enjoyed challenging myself and the way up wasn't too bad and I even made it down without slipping, so all was good and the log has been gratefully signed. Cheeers and happy caching!
Enjoyed travelling out to Diamond Harbour this morning to collect a couple of D/T puzzles before heading south to the geofest. This one proved to be the more challenging of the two we attempted. An interesting geo art to challenge us all. Thanks.
This was the seventh day of my driving trip down to Oamaru for Geofest 2017. I stopped every five to ten kms or so along the way to grab a cache. This expanded my driving time to a total of two weeks to get there and home again. I ended up going a total of 3,500 kms.
I avoided the frontal attack and flanked the objective. TFTC.

AngelG27, TikvaNZ and I have travelled from Canberra to find caches from the D/T 81 Series that we had managed to solve by ourselves, or as a team (some with nudges along the way from COs or previous finders). We were joined by IVSS_XX, so we decided to log as team F.A.I.T. for brevity.
Puzzle solved easily. Both IVSS_XX and I dashed off for a scramble to the cache. TFTC

A beautiful day for a walk and some caching. We parked up at Purau and walked to Camp Bay and back. We even met a car load of cachers on the way. I was a bit worried about the higher terrain for this one but I managed to find a less direct route which wasn't so tough. This cache was a quick find. TFTC.

On a caching mission with AngelG27, Fox in Jox and IVSS_XX to find as many of the D/T81 caches as possible in a day. I was in NZ for my daughter's wedding, and my other daughter's graduation and planned to visit Christchurch to maintain caches and find as many of these as possible. AngelG27 and Fox in Jox decided to take the opportunity to have a holiday in NZ and join me, so over the last few months we have been beavering away at solving these. After some hints last night we (mainly Fox in Jox) were still solving today as we enjoyed a beautiful day's caching around Lyttleton harbour. Unfortunately we didn't get them all solved, or find all the ones we had solved so maybe another visit in the future. IVSS_XX took the opportunity to join us for the day.
Easily found. TFTC.

This trip to NZ was long planned, with the DT 81 series the main focus. TikvaNZ, Fox and I did lots of puzzle solving in preparation, many solved individually, but others solved cooperatively and some with a little push. Today was the day to make good on our solves and we headed out with Ivss_xx (signed as FAIT) to collect a stack of them. It was a long day, but we grabbed around 50 of them, with a few others thrown in for good measure. Unless otherwise indicated, caches were found in good order and in accordance with the hint.
Puzzle easy-peasy, cache found by Fox and Ivss_xx
Thanks for the cache and the fun!

A great afternoon in a part of the country I would not otherwise have visited. weather was cold but sunny and the ground dry - fortunately !
Continuing on excellent afternoon adventure with peter 007 who proved to be a handy "mountain goat"! Working our way back from Kamp Mother, I had never been to Camp Bay by road before and really enjoyed the drive and scenery.

Yay!! A scheduled geocaching day off motherhood for me, a day of daddy bonding for hubby (Though baby is always so well behaved for him that it's totally not fair!!! ), and so mum & I were off to go find as much as time would allow!! (But mum thought it was a good idea to bring the boys also!! So it ended up being as much as time & the boys would allow before they started complaining too much about the fact that we were caching... ended up with 38 though if my calculations are right - and quite a few high T - so not too bad.
We signed all the logs as Team Polak for simplicity sake, and time sake, and save the trees sake. (Though neither of the two of us who will actually log these are Polaks anymore anway!
Easy here too - nice to get the T's up a bit!

We drove down to the Camp Bay picnic area for a morning coffee and decide on our best line of approach - definitely not the Zorgon method. That decided it was off to find the cache and another D/T space in the grid filled in.
Puzzle was quickly solved when I eventually looked at the cache page. Finally in the area today to get 3 "must do" caches to help fill my DT grid. Once I found the best way to get to the GZ the cache was quickly found. Thanks for the cache.
Worked out a while back, so this was a quick park and grab while out with the kids on an adventure. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
Cache is up there, no guessing who'll go up and get that one, yup Mr Sharpe! Mrs Sharpe was in jandals so no from her. Thanks for the series, enjoying gaining more puzzle skills.
#12785. Another D/T where a bit of route planning was a good idea before setting out. A quick find. TFTC.
The puzzles in the D/T series with solutions on the other side of the harbour have been beckoning us for a while and today, with the mild weather forecast, seemed an ideal opportunity to turn as many as possible into smiles.
We parked close to GZ, but the direct route was not the one to take . The last D/T find for us today. Thanks for the incentive to drive out here. TFTC.

Day nine of my New Zealand caching holiday. Today I was with Skullracing, The Geo Princess, Coruze , troo bloo, vk3gs&cc and sharkiefan. The weather was looking spectacular for the third day in a row and it was day two of our DT solved puzzle hunt. Some spectacular scenery was seen. We made a plan to drive to the end and pickup caches on the way back, but it ended up being a mistake as most were on the wrong side of the road. Anyway, a great day was had by all.
What a narrow road, parking is an issue with 4 cars in our group. anyway, made the climb and claimed the prize.

vk3gs&cc and sharkiefan cruising along through this spectacular
part of NZ grabbing caches as we went. It was probably the
best day I had whilst attending the NZ Mega. Many, many pics on
my phone. Much needed D/T for my grid!!

It was a nice sunny day so our intrepid band of travelling Aussies (and one Kiwi) had planned to tackle some of the D/T series on the south side of the bay.
We decided to start down the bottom end and work our way back, and not only were we surprised by the amount of traffic on this dead end road, the views from this part of the world are magnificent!
The drive along the bay picking up caches and enjoying the views made for a ripper day, and we all had a mountain of fun. Some of the caches were a bit tricky to find parking spots for all the cars but we soon over came that and everyone got to sign their name in the logs.
Thanks TheWranglers for a great cache series with a view.
Cheers

Jinta29 and I decided to head out this morning to grab and grab as many D/T combinations as possible. The Green Geckos decided to join us so off we went.
TheWanglers - Kyzabra found your cache D/T 1.0/4.5 (Canterbury) on 26/10/2015, 8:16 AM. This is my find #4192 and find #17 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

Kyzabra and I headed over for the Christchurch Mega from Perth, WA. We teamed up with The Green Geckos for the DT series today.
A lot of planning was involved with literally hundreds of puzzles solved and we targeted some highly favorited caches as well as those that filled gaps in grids and calenders!
We had a fantastic time caching in the cooler climate and with no fear of snakes or other nasties! Christchurch is my old home town but I did not know about caching when I lived there so it was fun exploring the City with a different objective.
We were glad to grab the smiley on this one and we replaced the container as found. Thanks TheWanglers for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

Found with my tools (skullracing, ahomburg & coruze) as well as some other Aussie cachers. We made a go of the solved DTs that we had. Very few by me....
We picked a cracker of a day to be out and about. I am pretty badly sunburnt. We went from the furthermost cache to the ones closer to town. Probably not a good idea as they were all on the other side of the road or so it seemed. A great series and a lot of fun. Tftc

Reperio at 1900.
Day 3 of my New Zealand caching tour in the lead up to the NZ mega, and the day was mostly spent chasing down the puzzles that I had solved of the D/T geoart series. If the morning was the adventurous section of the series, then this afternoon was the speed section. This was the final cache found in this series today, and what a lovely drive it was throughout this section.

The puzzle was an easy enough solve. We parked a little distance and walked up to where we could study GZ - one parked car here would take up a lot of the width of this road. Checked out the best access and headed up there to make the find. Thanks.
Tufty and I spent 7 hours signing off most of our solved Mega Group's D/T puzzles. This was cache #22 (of 35 for the day) signed off. Thanks Mega Group for the great work in placing these caches.
BaldEd and I had previously agreed that we would go together to try for the D/T series puzzles that we had solved. Today is the day for the first onslaught to sign them off.
Cheers for the cache and series.

Out and about with MadCat9. Luckily we both were not working today. The mission was to find ad many dts as possible. I admit that I needed a little help from the Co. Not much but a little.
Out on a mission today with Nosynel to clean up the Diamond Harbour side of the DT series! A fun wee solve then a joint effort in finding this one. Nosy Cat had to look in many places before we turned this one up. That was the last of the DT's for this trip, but may have to come back for our earlier DNF. Enjoyed the pristine views of the harbour from this side. TFTC
Easy puzzle, but certainly a tougher retrieve. First straight line approach was deemed very unwise by the health and safety member of the team and so a far more sensible route was plotted. Careful inching towards GZ and happy days a cache was in hand. I think this is our last higher terrain cache for the day (hopefully)

No blank log for me at this one but it WILL help my average terrain rating I'd narrowed the GZ down to one of two places before approaching from the road. I was spot on with one of them, signed the log, took in the view, and made my way back to the truck for my return to Chch. I did call in for two more caches on the way (one trad, one from this series). 6 D/T puzzle caches and a traditional for the day.

With the solving part of the cache out of the way, it was time for Karma Reprint and I to hit the roads and tracks and pick up a few of these D/T caches. A fun road, never been out here before and I'm getting to experiance lots of little bits of it. Cheers for the [FTF].

A quick puzzle solve and cache find. A bit of a scramble at GZ, all good. WAHOO another {FTF}.
After a bit of DT puzzle solving Kiwi Moose and I went forth and collected a few smiley's on the DT series, and a few other caches that we just happened to pass by.
Thanks for the puzzles and the hides.
