After spending most of the day at the Otago peninsula it was time for another Geocaching binge. Two stayed at the camp site while I dropped my eldest off at the start of a mountain bike track. Thanks for the hide.
Had checked this one out on an earlier occasion but was focused on the wrong object. This time it was so obvious where to look. Found, signed & back to the car in double quick time. TFTC
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long! TFTC!
Enjoying holidaying in the area with tmann421 and another good day of weather today.
A nice quick find for us here thanks to tmann. I was overlooking the obvious! TFTC

A funny one J-L was busy searching around and I said what do you think the name of the cache could be referring to!
Soon found at the obvious location. SL TFTC

The name made sense when I saw the object, a wee bit of a closer inspection led me to sign a nice dry log
Thanks

Played it cool as a muggle eyed us up...thank heavens for our doggy decoy! TFTC.
I thought the title suggested something a little more literal, but then I turned my attention to something reminiscent of a flame. Yup, there it is. Tftc.
A quick find in a nice little spot. We had fun walking round this area, looking for caches. TFTC.
My first attempt at this was when the light wasn't very good and I was led to something tall that was lit up on top. No obvious hiding place so I moved on. today in glourious sunshine as ai approached I immediatly recognised the candle and soon had the log signed and tucked away.
The plan was hatched a few years ago now and it has been a standing weekend away with a few of us mad keen cachers. This trip was made up of Karma Reprint, Team_Gaters and me (TheWanglers). We couldn't use a previous anagram to sign the logs as one member was in Aussie. So we had to come up with another... Hmm, KiTT? We decided on KiTT but after signing the first few logs something KR mentioned took a while for me to sink in and I didn't really take on board until the next time I signed the log. "Hey, the double 'TT' looks like Pi!". Oh, that's what KR said! So we signed the log this trip as KaTT pronounced 'Kapai'! And the trip was kapai!!! We had an epic weekend starting with a detour to Peel Forrest for a few FTFs, stopped in Omaru, thrashed Dunedin and detoured to Port Charmers for a FTF and then back to Pleasant Point and Peel Forrest to finish off the weekend with more FTFs. We got home to our families at a respectable hour after clocking up just over 1100km!
We had a few milestones we really wanted to crack. My 4000th, TG's 5000th and KR's 10,000th. We cracked my and KR's goal and got really close for TG. It really is about the numbers. This trip was awesome as it has given me some ideas
We decided to try and get a few around Dunedin head north up the Leith and Waitati valleys and back into town over Mt Cargill. We stopped in Waitati for a great lunch. The weather played nicely too. We stuck around town to grab the ones in town before it got too busy. Had to sneak around at GZ but we got it in the end.
Thanks for the cache.

Took a wee detour from heading up the vally to find some in the hillier parts. A quick find, though the preople across the road backing a traiiler made the approach more difficult. Thanks.
Canterbury show weekend and time for our annual road trip to some place with plenty of boxes to find. One player short this year as PurdiePurdie got a better offer over the Tasman, (no not another MEGA).
TheWanglers, Team Gaters and I took off at 4:45am for Dunedin for a weekend of fun frivolity and finds. The plan was to get as many as we could, while still having a good old time, which we managed in abundance. Logs were generally signed kaTT, which actually should read ka pai, but I can not seem to get pi as a symbol.
A great time was had by all.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

Show weekend and a Road Trip to Dunedin with 'The Boys'....Karma Reprint & TheWanglers. Initially came up with the acronym KiTT but on seeing the TT looked like a Pi symbol we quickly changed to Ka(Pi) (ie. Kapai)....and a fantastic weekend it was. 3 days, 1100km, a heap of caches and great fun.
Muggles across the road but TW and KR managed to grab the cache. CHeers.

An easy find here while out and about exploring the Leith Valley this afternoon. TFTC
True to the description GZ was obvious when approached from below. Didn't take long to find stash. Encourage others to use their eyes before hunting with hands to avoid damage. TFTC
Went for a walk in the rain this afternoon, got nice and wet, too, even before cutting across the grass.
Thans for the cache.

Decided to find out what all the fuss was about Very nice hide, yet a quick find taking a bit of a detour. TFTC!!

Clever name. This street was still frozen at 4pm today! Don't you love Dunedin......
Quick park up and find, had to divert from a direct return to the car as one of the neighbours was having a chat with a passerby.
Nice hide.

This was a very clever little hide! I walked straight up to GZ knowing that this was it on sight, but it took a bit more poking and prodding to actually find the cache. Hevic still had her map loading, I don't think she could believe that I could find it that quickly! Cheers
I guess a yew tree might look like a candle after a few drinks. But that didn't matter. A few minutes searching and behold .... found it !
Found just on dark so needed a torch to help. Hopefully the light didn't attract unwanted attention. I'm guessing the three new caches within a roughly 500m radius of one another were all submitted together but the esteemed reviewer chose to publish two on one day and the third the following day. With the obvious result that anyone who goes to find the first two on day one gets highly annoyed! One wonders whether this happens because the reviewer has no ability to see the basic details of caches in the queue for approval and therefore can't see that there is another cache for approval within spitting distance of one they have just approved or if it is just down to sheer "attitude" on the part of the reviewer. In over ten years of caching I have to say that the current reviewer for our area is the worst I've encountered. It really annoys me that "members" who pay a premium to belong to gc.com get shut out of having any say in who gets to be a reviewer because of the whole "secret squirrel" manner in which local reviewers are appointed and which ensures that "power" says in the hands of a small, select group of people who think they run the game in NZ. More transparency and accountability please gc.com! TFTC.
FTF (#9) @ 1715. Thought I would try for another FTF on my way home. Well not really on way home but I will get there eventually lol TFTC BH
