On another road trip with our caching partners in crime to check out the area, Molesworth, Cathkin, Yarck and Gobur and pick up some caches along the way. This was our first cache of the day and despite a pretty extensive searching with our caching partner who had previously found this cache we had no luck today. Being four months since it was last found it could now be well covered by undergrowth which was quite damp today.
Were visiting from South Gippsland, staying in Woodfield and caching around the area for a few blissful days (without the geokids ). A short descent from our parking spot bought us down to GZ. Just as we sat down to look at hint, there it was. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache
Continuing on my journey from Yea i continued on the Road to grab a few higher terrain ratings in the area. A quick park of the car and scramble through the shrubs to the GZ to find a nice big cache next to the big tree. Want too wet today which was a bonus and the nearby waterfall was only flowing a bit of water. Great spot. TFTC Clever Monkey
Nice quick easy find beautiful day exploring little bit damp, but nothing to worry else
Thanks for the cache Clever,
What a nice little reserve, little used and appreciated.
The carpark hard to find, the sign wrenched from it's posts, the walking trails overgrown from lack of use.
On the other hand, the Cache was in excellent condition, though costly this type of container has surely passed the test of time.
I like to think that the caches I place will breathe some life back into some of the forgotten places which were well known only 30 years ago.
Thanks for luring me to some of those places.

Had to drive home from Goughs Bay to pick up some items for the misses so some caching on the way was in order. How easy is it to add a couple of hours to a trip
Had to give up on the coordinated here, GPS all over the place, looked in every conceivable place with no luck. Decided to find the waterfall and use the hint and I had the prize in hand in no time flat.
**Thanks for placing this cache Clever Monkey**

Met up with RoamingHowie to find some caches in an area neither of us had explored.
Parked and sussed out the best way in. Walked up a bit further and came in sideways - a much better option. Lovely secret waterfall. Top spot!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, Clever Monkey

Heading away for a few days camping. Met up enroute for a morning of caching with OZHockeyChick before heading off to reach camp.
Found some relatively clear land to access this cache and made our way towards the waterfall. Had the cache in hand soon after upon arriving at GZ.
Thanks Clever Monkey for the cache.

Found by Mary and David at 16:50. Filling in time before the Yea Event this evening, so a few cache finds were in order. The sound of summer cicadas, the lengthening shadows in the dappled light all made for a superb setting. Only a trickle over the waterfall but, with the drought, even that was unexpected. The GPSr was all over the place near GZ, so we found the cache in the third place we checked. Quite an oasis here, and a FP given. Had a look at another of your caches nearby but, with that terrain rating, no way! Our thanks to Clever Monkey.
A shame that the weather was closing in. It made this one take longer than Steve Rocks, up the road. Well the hint will put you on the right track. Another lovely spot in the hills, TFTC.
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

Missed logging this one on the day we got it due to no phone reception.
A snapshot of the screen was taken and promptly forgotten.
During a recount of caches found on the day and while looking through the pictures on the phone it was noticed that there was a picture of the cache page and a picture of the cache!
The cache took quite a while to find due to unstable GPS signals pushing me further up the hill behind the waterfall than was required.
After wandering in circles for a while, the GPS was abandoned and the clue consulted.
It was only after checking places closer to the waterfall that the cache was found.
Thanks for the adventure and showing us a waterfall we would otherwise not have seen.

Day trip: Home- **Molesworth-Caveat** -Ruffy-Strathbogie-MtWombat-TeripTerip-Highland-Yea-Home (Yay!)
Nice area although we didn't stop for lunch here as that was planned to be at Polly McQuinns Weir. It took a while to locate this one as the GPS was bouncing me all over the place so I ended up using the hint to help target the search. Soddin' Cockatoos spotted me and sounded their deafening alarm which didn't stop until we retreated to the car again. Ear plugs or a "lead thrower" would have been very welcome!

(PS: Grabbed "The Music Lover" TB from here which is probably a good thing since it had been in this cache for almost a year!)

Back again in the area and before a big walk tomorrow it was time to catch up with the art work and some other caches we had solved for the Mega. Some interesting puzzles and no real problems with the hides. TFTC
Attending the Alexandra Mega Event and spending the day with Bella@Waggy and dahumbug finding a few target caches as well as a few others which popped up along the way We had a great time bumping into various caching friends at different places and overall had a magnificent day
This was our first cache find for the day and it proved to be much more difficult to locate than we expected. The thick tree covering made for a not particularly accurate GPSr reading, but eventually dahumbug come up with the goods. With our names finally added to the log book, we continued on our way [^]
Thank you Clever Monkey for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Found with JATs and B@W .
The team left over from the 2015 MEGA had joined up for some interesting finds for the weekend. This was the first find for the team.
We searched probably way too long for this one than what we were expecting but in the end my Geosphere app on my crappy iphone4 led us to the container.
Thanks Clever Monkey

What a great adventure we had here today we searched hi and low instead of using common sense I moved about half a ton of bark around every tree in the area, as it turns out it was a lot closer to the falls than first anticipated. Muddy damp and supporting a few scares emotional and psychological, we came out winners with container in hand
Another spot that we would not have come across - had it not been for geocaching .. just beautiful ... it wasn't long until we were standing by the waterfall and it was now that the gps decided to take us on a wild goose chase ... spinning round and round and taking us way beyond where the final GZ was found (after a little logic and some moments of frustration) ... a great sized cache with some cool swag. Left TB, signed the log and had time for a few quick snaps in front of the waterfall, before heading back to the car. TFTC
We were over here to attend the Rover scouts MudBash at Mafeking and thought it a good chance to call past and pick up a few caches along the way.
Unfortunately this was the second disappointing DNF for the day. The harder Goat's Lair turned out to be the easier find. Waterfall was fairly modest but still flowing. We spent a fair while poking around GZ but no cache.

Up this way to do some fishing for the next month. Taking in the Goulburn, Kiewa, Mitta and Omeo Valleys. Focus is mainly on fishing, but any cache is likely to be nabbed along the way.
We are unable to log details when on the move so have used "Log Later" as a filler till we return.

A little bit of a bush bash for this one. All good though, TFTC TNLN

I was on the way from Caveat down to Melbourne today, and seeing as i had the whole day to make the trip, i took the opportunity to turn a 2 hour trip into a 6 hour one.
This was my first for the day. I'd DNFed a Clever Monkey cache yesterday, so today i decided to tackle one a little more my speed. I parked at what looked like a good spot, walked down the road, and then dropped down into the valley. A bit of bush bashing later, and i found myself near to GZ. As I stopped to admire the waterfall, i realized a spider had taken up residence on my hat. I wish i could tell you that i stayed composed in this moment, but the truth is that my hat ended up quite a distance away from me. In my panic, I had managed a perfect frisbee action, which led to me needing to go a while out of my way to collect the hat.
Once at GZ, the cache was quickly in hand, and the log signed. I followed a bit of a trail in the growth back up the the road, and ended up exactly where i had parked my car. It appears that i made the walk in alot harder than it needed to be! TFTC.

Visited this cache again today with McSee and Petal. Always happy to visit this area as the scenery never gets boring. The trickle had grown a little but the falls, even though small, were quite spectacular. Picked up both the TB's whilst we were here as it was a seriously chilly today. Thanks again for showing us this place.
Welcome to a cold chilly morning, standing out in the bush with light hail dropping from the tall eucalypts and a cool breeze at times. This road is very narrow and unkempt, but quite a few cars have past us so far while parked here.
A short walk to GZ and a bit of effort, soon saw this cache in hand, logged and then returned.
Thanks Clever Monkey for another placement here.

Out on a run with Ahomburg today caching thru this region which I normally pass thru but not often stop.
Some great terrain for caching and the couple found along this road were great.
After 2 hours of trying to enter the Goat's Lair with no luck we headed further north to find the remaining caches in the area.
This was the next one and after a nice hike into GZ the cache was found but was today 12m out.
Dropped 2 TBs as this look like a good spot and I had them now for long enough, good luck. Orange MM & Angry Bird

Today I was out and about with Theatralis being spontaneous and selective at the same time. The only real mission for the day was Melbourne's First, which I had already done, after that it was really where ever the geocaching gods were going to lead us.
We discovered between us that we really enjoyed the higher D & T rated caches and so after completing Melbourne's First and the few around Reedy Creek, we set our D&T filters up a couple of notches and a lot of caches began disappearing. However there were a few along this road that remained, even as we continued to increase our T filters.
*"Looks like a good spot to go"* we concurred.
So after a very enjoyable drive where the merits of Australian caching was discussed against that of Germany, we finally turned the old red ute off the made road and up the dirt track. I have got to say, I have never driven this road and the views coming up north from Molesworth are nothing short of spectacular (of course I was concentrating on the road too though!!!)
Anyway, looking at the map now we actually drove past a few other caches that had got filtered out by our snobberish selective caching style. Anyway, after completing Ab Intra which was a nice challenge and the absolutely fabulous Goat's Lair, which is now certainly one of my favourite caches, the next on our list was Steve's Rocks. Before heading off from our parking spot near Goat's Lair Theatralis commented that there was this one on the way, but it was only a 2/2.
*"But it is a Clever Monkey cache"* I replied, *"And it will give you a good feel for what he considers a T2."*
So shortly after that, we found ourselves parking nearby to this cache and heading off in the direction of the cache.
Now the keen eyed amongst you will notice that I said we headed off in the direction of the cache. This is what I like to call "Banana Style". We were both totally oblivious to the walking path that lead off to the right as we crashed our way through the bush.
*"Why is everything in Australia either sharp, poisonous or scratchy?"* came the cry from behind me as we made our way over to GZ. Arriving on location the search began in earnest and turned up nothing. Finally we consulted the hint and it described something that we hadn't even spotted yet but upon silencing we immediately heard where it was.
Re-aligning our location we then discovered the walking track that we should probably had spotted 15 minutes ago and then everything in the clue lined up and the cache was found within seconds, about 16 meters from our GZ but with all this tree coverage and the well described hint, that's not so bad (as long as you use the hint of course).
The log was duly signed, pictures were taken and the cache replaced as found.
Of course we used the walking track to get back out to the car.
Thanks Clever Monkey, now onto Steve's Rocks, but that log will have to wait a while until I have more time!

Parked the vehicle and headed off to find the cache. Along the way, Faulksi suddenly stopped and said don't stand there. Looking down to where he was pointing I spotted an echidna, almost totally buried under some sticks and leaves. We tried to encourage it out to say hello, but it just wriggled itself in further. So we left it and went on to the cute little falls and the good size cache hiding nearby. Thanks Clever Monkey.
Memorable cache, sadly BonnyBlack broke his geocaching stick. It was a very sad moment for him but hey....life goes on. Nearly stepped on a well hidden echidna. Thanks Clever Monkey for another geocaching adventure.

#637 - After some mid day Geocaching shenanigans, this cache was on my radar. Every now and then I have a lot of trouble finding caches and this was one of those caches!
After not knowing if I was at the top or bottom, I walked around aimlessly looking for the cache and came up empty. Deciding I needed some assistance, I started walking to where I thought the car was before realising that I had gotten lost XD
Luckily help was nearby and with some handy guidance, the cache was soon in hand!
Took pathtag and left a fruit ninja.

Having partaken of some restorative food and drink at the Ruffy Store it was onto Caveat to find more caches. First stop the Bush Reserve and a chance to glimpse a waterfall on the way to GZ. The mossy rocks were not too slippery today and the waterfall was very picturesque. Did a drunken bee dance for a while before finally finding the correct tree. SL at 12.45pm Left: PT #3037 TFTC Clever Monkey - another stunning piece of our Victorian bushland.
I didn't read the details for this cache before I headed off, so I spent a good 15 minutes following the gps on a wild goose chase nowhere near the actual gz. Serves me right, I should know better by now. Once I realized my mistake I was soon on the right path, and the cache was soon in hand. Definitely a lovely area to take a break for a while. It gets a favourite point from us too, as even if we had found this place ourselves, which is highly unlikely, we would probably not have gone down and discovered the delightful waterfall dropping over a rock so straight it looks like it has been cut that way. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

I was going to leave this cache alone since I was in Melbourne and manzie was in Eildon, however the lure of a relatively easy FTF was just too great. So, Saturday morning saw me up at stupid o'clock and driving to meet up with manzie in Molesworth at the crack of dawn. Nothing like a bit of spontaneity in life! We made the drive to the cache in the one car, me thankful I wasn't negotiating this road—narrow roads with steep drop offs just aren't my thing! Once near GZ we split up for the search—one went high, the other low—with manzie coming up with the goods pretty quickly. I scribbled my name in the blank logbook while manzie inspected the cache contents. Should come in handy . After picking up a couple of other caches together on the way back to Molesworth we then went our separate ways, and I spent the rest of the day caching my way back to Melbourne. TFTC Clever Monkey !
