Found the trail well marked and the final markers but not the cache. There were a couple of possibilities and on reflection, although I squirmed in quite a way, I might return and do a bit more wriggling. No issues with track closures now. There are some warning signs but the track to GZ is open. Until next time ...
Went to go for a walk in this area today
At the junction there is now a sign that wasn't there last week

FelicityID and I were going to attempt this cache last night, but when we arrived at wp1 we found lots of mechanical equiptment, fencing and signs for bush restoration until April 2020
Once the restoration is over I'd suggest the CO check everything is still there
Keep on caching!

With the geoTeen looking to log some night time driving hours, the search was on for a night cache. GeoTeen did a great job navigating to the parking area and an even better job following the reflective tacks. Easy to follow and container is in good shape

Have been wanting to do a few night caches, so tonight was the night for one with Trodectus. Had looked at this a while back and as there had been no rain for a little while, we decided to go for it. Parked near WP1 and walked to track start. Located WP2 and started using torches, tacks were easy enough to locate most of the time but there were a couple of parts where we weren't sure if we were on the right path but eventually saw the tack and continued. Located GZ and followed final directions, after short search, located the cache. Log signed and returned with a bit more camo added. TFTNC
Found with Coybear2000. We've been planning to do this one for some time, but just never seemed to get around to it. Today however we decided that a night cache was in order and we headed for this one. We parked near the listed co-ords and had no trouble getting to the way point. We clearly saw the first few tacks, but then it took a bit of searching to make sure we were on the right track. Eventually we saw the markers telling us that we were close to GZ. We followed the directions and started searching. After a minute or two we spotted the hide. Apart from hearing frogs and the occasional rustle we didn't come across any nocturnal animals. Still it was an enjoyable cache to do. I'm giving it a favourite. TFTC.
This has been my closest unfound for a long time so today I was glad to knock it off my list. Great to find a good sized cache, log and contents are in good condition. TFTC
Located at 7:25pm. #679. D/T grid fill! This was my main focus after a long day at work. I have been wanting this D/T grid fill for a long while now and am very happy to have achieved it. Also add to the mix that it was a well-deployed night cache with an ammo can at GZ and you have one very happy Geocacher. I swapped my work boots to an older but still trusty pair of past work boots as there had been rainfall prior to my attempting this and wasn’t sure of mud levels. I found the tracks still very accessible and the tacks were well-sighted. A favourite for the experience, I cache frequently at night but it has been awhile since my last offical night cache. I believe the last one was Tesla. Cheers DKMacca. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
LouLou0212 and myself headed off I tot he dark this evening to attempt this night cache. LouLou is a big fan of night caches. An enjoyable stroll and we soon found the cache. Thank you so much! It’s still in great condition. TFTC dkmacca
I headed out with BeckNmobts to find this cache. A nice length for a night cache, in great condition. Fantastic sized cache at the end! TFTC dkmacca
This was my 1000th cache GC+GCA combined. We waited until dark and then drove to the starting point and headed down the trail. Thought we might have to cancel as it started to rain but we pushed on and luckily the rain eased. The light tack reflectors are still working well. Found with geo-son & geo sister her 1st night cache & her last she said. As previous logs have stated to log sheet is damp but we were still able to sign it. TFTC. TNLNSL.
Came out tonight to do a couple of night caches. This was the second on my list I overshot the mark and had to backtrack to find the GZ marker. Once found the hide was soon discovered. Thanks dkmacca for the cache. The log is a little damp but still serviceable Cheers
Found with the_garbageman, TOMBI! and the Mighty Minions, on a special day trip down to Sydney to find missing TD combinations to help our respective grids. Atfer all the difficult clifff climbing/ decending we decided to try some less intense caches on the way home. As the driver was getting petrol, we worked out that there was a night cache nearby. We headed off to it, and were sone on the track, after finding torches. This was well layed out, but a good thing that GPS has the blue line to follow back. Nice big cache at the end, TFTC dkmacca

On an epic caching day with the Garbageman, Tombi and BillHill531 , to fill some DT grid holes and have some fun , we sure achieved that goal. This was a really impromptu cache but so much fun. I was very glad to have such good company , I would have been a bit scared on my own. the tacks were located fairly easily and it was a really nice walk. A day that will be long remembered as one of my best caching days ever. Thanks for the cache dkmacca fav point for the fun tnln sl
Found with the_garbageman, BillHill531 and the Mighty Minions or a day trip to Sydney finding a bunch of rare combo caches with high D or T or both. We successfully found all eight of our attempted caches and had one of the greatest caching adventure days ever.
This was our eight stop (the seventh being a revisit to a D5 cache all except the Mighty Minions had done). After fueling up I convinced the drive to take us here (it did not take much convincing and we all agreed). And we were all glad we did. I supplied three torches and we set off. This was a very well made night cache, with the fire tacks perfectly spaced. And with clear instructions at the end for a great sized container. The perfect end to a great day.
Thanks for the fun night walk and good sized cache!

On an adventure today with Mighty Minions, Tombi and Bill Hill to help fill in some D:T grid spaces in various loops.
This was our final cache of the day and a completely impromptu experience. We happened to be getting fuel around the corner and when I got back from buying water and fuel, my backseat drivers had a new plan - not going home! Instead, we found ourselves scavenging light sources from every backpack in the car, including phone torches, and heading into the great unknown.
What a well laid out trail this is. Relatively easy to follow, fun to do, across a range of terrains, and with a beast of a tin at the end! Thanks for the work that goes in to setting up and maintaining this. It was a great way to finish a great day. TNLN TFTC

I was in the are attempting to clear a patch on my map when I saw this one. Of course it was daylight then but I hung around until the sun started to set.
It wasn't pitch black but the tacks shone up nicely as I followed the track. Made a wrong decision at one of the junction so back tracked to correct the error.
I could hear the water getting closer and assumed I was going to get wet feet for the second time today.....I was right but the area looked really pretty so I don't mind.
Found a well stocked cache that was nice and dry.
I didn't do the original version of this cache yet really enjoyed it.
Now that I'm back home I realised I wrote 13th June n ALL of my logs today, including this one.

There were hazard reduction burns in this area on the weekend. Hopefully the tacks survived.
I'd tried this before dawn a week ago and only saw two tacks. I wandered back and forth and eventually exited at Churchill Drive which was well over where I should have been. I returned early afternoon and saw those two tacks again but no more on the track. With a couple of clues gleaned from past logs I tried for this one in overcast gloom. I chanced one clue and spied the three tacks. Turning around revealed the other clue just to confirm I was in the right place. A compass was not needed to lead me to the likely hide.

Entered the trail at 4.45am. After an hour of search and backtracking I had to do the return walk of shame after finding only two tacks and having to endure the laughter of kookaburras as the sun rose.
As per my log, the inside of the cache is damp (as are its contents) and the log is hard to sign.
I think the TShirt might be starting to go mouldy, but it's black and so hard to tell at night.

I already have my *Mission GC* souvenir for this weekend, but I was busy all day, and couldn't get to caching today until close to sunset.
So I thought that there are a few night caches not too far from home that I haven't tried, and decided that I'd tackle one tonight.
Picked this one and parked *The Hademobile* near the published coordinates just as the last light of day was fading.
Started along the track and soon found the waypoint and my first fire tack as pitch dark descended.
No trouble finding them with the geotorch they lit up a treat and sometimes I spotted the next one through the trees, although there was one stretch that I thought I must have missed one.
Didn't take too long until the torch lit up the final three tacks... aah. Yes.
Now my sense of balance isn't the greatest, and I'm always wary while doing this in the full light of day - and once or twice come a cropper.
And now I'm doing it by torchlight... No problems in the end, and then I was down to the final search.
Initially guessed the directions and one likely spot seemed to fit the bill. Checked it but clearly nowhere a decent sized cache could go. So went back to first principles with the iPhone's compass app, and that puts GZ... about here.
CIH!
Found it somewhat uncovered, and when I opened it the insides were quite damp. Decided not to go through the contents, but did grab the log - also damp and hard to sign. Finally managed a faded scribble, then replaced.
Rehid - hopefully a little more securely, then backtracked my way out. Back at the car in about 45 minutes.
Nice joib **dkmacca**. Have a favourite.
But it does need some TLC.

Will wasn't that fun. We had planned to do this one tonight. Even though it rained most of the day we still headed out. From starting point we headed to WP1. Don't know what happened but we went high and came in to WP1 from wrong direction. Hence our choose of direction to continue were both wrong. We tried one way nothing, tried the other nothing. It was then that I suggested that if we had come in to WP1 in a straight line we would have had a different choice of way to go. (Which was the track we came in on). So off we went
again on that track and soon saw a tack. Yeah finally we are heading the right way. Came to next turn found tack marker and headed down the next track. Now we are looking for the 3 tacks. Where are they it is raining we have 4 torches looking and nothing. After about 1/2 an hour we were about to give up. We knew what was next but how, let's go on a bit and have a look. Look there they are. Cache found.log could not be signed as pen would not work in the rain. Frazer took the tonker truck as a reward. Even in the rain this was fun.markers were hard to find but we got there in the end. Thank you for the work setting it up. Done with Frazer, kazzacosmo, and Ashleigh.

It would have been silly not to find a geocache on the 29th February and this cache was one of the closest (1.2kms) unfound to me.
I decided to walk there but would approach from the Churchill Drive end... and in the daylight! I was hoping these two factors would not matter as I had found the previous incarnation of this cache "Nocturnal" and remembered where GZ was... how could one forget. So, I bypassed all waypoints and trail markers and headed straight for the old GZ. Once there I had a bit of a look without going too deep but saw nothing obvious. Next I decided to have a bit of a general look around elsewhere before making a full assault on the old GZ. To my relief I quickly spotted something suspicious and with some manoeuvring had CIH. The cache is well stocked with various items but unfortunately it is all very damp, including the log book. I could only just scribe my name in the log with a pencil.
Still a nice spot here and a great walk in, no matter which direction you approach from. The cache could do with a little TLC but I am certainly glad I was easier to retrieve than the old cache.

Decided to conducted a day time reckie for the night find, and as it was overcast we kind of stumbled onto the reflected path, found with Snickersallan
It was a very overcast day today and Bluewattle and myself decided to check our the area and terrain before planning to head back out at night to search for this cache. Having previously done a couple of night caches we knew what to look out for so as we ventured along the track we actually spotted something then kept following and looking for others signs further along. To our surprise, we got all the way to GZ and had a very quick find. A fav point awarded from me, thanks dkmacca & TFTC.
I did the original cache many years ago and it was one of my first night time finds. It actually had me DNF it about 2 times, before I was able to finally grab it. It was a real terrain 3+ from what I remember, I was so muddy, dirty and wet even wearing overalls.
Today, I decided to came past and grab this one as well. I walked in, followed the tracks, even checking the tacks with my torch, until I got to the end. Walked over and spied the hide straight away. Ahh, I smiled. Much easier for me this time. I SL, TNLN. The log is wet as and it is all damp inside. There is a bag inside the cache and the drawstring of the bag was hanging out of the cache when it was closed, which meant it was not fully waterproof or damp proof. Will need some TLC and a nice dry out.
Great homage to Spindoc Bob dkmacca, well done. R.I.P. Darren!

I was glad I was familiar with this location as the marks are very well-spaced. Initially we overshot GZ and had to return down the staircase. We back-tracked a bit and found the correct turn. The water was low making for an easy crossing. I had to bravely beat down some spiders reminiscent of Mirkwood to get to the cache. Unfortunately the log was too wet to sign, even with my felt pen, and mould is growing over all the otherwise great swaps.
Might need a cache check to put things right.

Having finished the night cache Tesla a little earlier than expected we went for a short drive to pick up another night cache. I'd always planned on doing the previous incarnation but never got there so it was good to come by to pick up the resurrected version.
We walked down the track looking for fire tacks but finding nothing before I checked the description and realised they didn't start for about 100m. From there we picked them up at regular intervals and took the correct turns until we had the bright idea at one stage to turn off our lights and see if we could walk in the dark for a minute. After that we couldn't see any markers but hadn't seen a junction. We turned back to find that we'd had our lights off at the crucial moment so made the turn and soon had the cache in hand. A lot of water has been through here lately but it was dry inside. Good to sign this one off. If we'd had another night cache nearby we might have done that as well.
Thanks!

It was only when I was about 200m from the start that I realised that this was a cache reboot - they don't call me a genius for nothing
It was about two years ago that I was here last, and that experience made this trip a snap With GeoDog in tow, I still went backwards and forwards a few times but recognised when I was in the area to start looking for the magical triangle.

I just loved this one, my first official night cache. It was not completely dark when we started off and we were unable to find the first tack, only seeing it on the way back. Anyway, we chose what turned out to be the correct direction and eventually I spotted a tack and, after that, it was a fairly straightforward trek to GZ, which looked beautiful in the twilight. The cache was quickly located and replaced with plenty of camo.
Thanks for setting up this night cache dkmacca. I have one favourite point left and am awarding it here.

As there was still some light left in the day when we set off, it took a while for the torch to take effect so we were floundering for a while until YGAT’s sharp eyes picked up one of the tacks. After an enjoyable stroll in the twilight, we found ourselves at the three tacks, also spotted by YGAT. My contribution was to find the cache, a nice size and well stocked. I took the TB to move on.
An excellent night cache, thanks dkmacca.

I was late getting out this morning and didn't get around to making a find before work. I had to resort to a night search, and just my luck that there was another night cache around.
Armed with a beanie and a bright torch, I made my way through the bush.
Strange though, this was probably the first night cache that I didn't end up walking through spider webs.
The find was easy. Left a ninja travel bug.

Well this was a bit of de ja vue, as everything was exactly how I remembered the previous cache, not that I am complaining, as I approach the final days of a 3 year streak I take any advantage I can. I had looked back at my previous find and noticed that it was still within the 30 days of the previous cache being archived that it could have been reactivated, still I'm glad for a new GC code. bella@waggy and I had just finished "Bidjigal Night Cache" up in Castle Hill, and were joined by Purplepeopleater, the CO, as he performed maintenance. One the way back, I asked who wanted to come with me for this one, and b@w agreed. About 15 minutes later, we'd driven down to Northmead and parked near the posted coordinates.
From here, the trailhead was obvious and easy to follow to WP2. b@w junior spotted the first reflector, so off we went. The reflectors were easy enough to follow, without being too close together. However, at one point we'd been walking for a while and not seeing any reflectors, it seemed apparent that we'd overshot by quite a bit and so back we went towards the last one. In a little while, I spotted the three and we know knew why it was good to be a dry night. Feet stayed dry as we got close to the three and from there estimated GZ based on the pacings and bearings. B@W made the find and extracted the cache. We all signed as joint 2TF, inspected the contents and then replaced it. We briefly considered looking for the original archived "Nocturnal" - is it still there? - then had second thoughts.
Back we went via another shorter path to the nearest road and then a short walk back to the cars. Enjoyed the night-time adventure - have a fave point! TFTC.

After the other night cache KRS said who was up for this one. We figured it was not too far away and with no wind (so we weren't feeling the cold) now was the right time. We headed off and parked close to WP1. A quick read of the sign and off to to WP2 where the first tack was soon spotted. We continued our way along thinking the terrain was ok and then after a change in terrain type realised we had not seen a tack for a while as we had probably been geo chatting too much. Some back tracking was done and the trail re found with KRS spotting the tripple. We could them see a terrain change and how some the cache page comments can apply. Having 3 of us made the hunt at GZ a quick find with multiple sets of torches and eyes. Nice to find an ammo can and a big one at that. The cache is certainly well stocked and after looking at the contents we completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC and thanks KRS for suggesting we do this one. It's certainly more fun to complete as a group. A fav pt from us.
FTF @ 6am, what a dilemma, had two choices this mourning. Either go for FTF's on a traditional by same CO and a mystery or choose the multi. People who know what I prefer and the unknown to its length in the multi is what I chose, anyway, I knew I'd have more fun here.
Have been here previously, over 3years ago. Made my way to WP2, and followed a path at the T intersection as I couldn't spot any at WP2. Soon I spied the first marker and then others showed themselves. Sparatic shining the torch from the ground, to see that I don't trip, to the air. Ahh, some time later, I spot the cluster of markers, I do remember this pretty location.
Couldn't see anything at GZ, let me just read the description to check if I missed something. Oh, yes, still more to go.
Followed the instructions to spy a nicely camoed hide. Thanks DK, awesome hide, giving it a fav, I'll try the other new listings this afternoon.
