Found while camped at Hiawatha for a few days. We needed to travel to get a phone signal, so took the opportunity to visit here.
What a good story. I hope I'm that ingenious when I get to his age.
The cache didn't require any crawling as several other logs suggested, so maybe it is not where it should be. We signed the log and left it where it was, covered a little better than it had been.
The local dog came out to have a chat. A beautiful little girl, but we didn't have time to play. Just a quick scratch under the chin, and we were gone.
Thanks 2greywombats. It's always nice to learn a little of the local history.

Found this one on a day out on my motorbike. A great spot and an interesting story about the little monument. I love these caches that bring me to an interesting place like this with a bit of history.
It took a while to find this one, my GPS kept pointing me to a different spot even though my cacher sensors were telling me to look in another spot. Should have listened to my sensors and I would have found it sooner,
As soon as I pulled up a very friendly dog came running out of the adjacent property, I guess the same one mentioned in other logs, and she was really up for a game of chase the stick and she was still bring it back to me even as I climbed on my bike to go.
thanks 2greywombats for a great cache, just signed the log, returned the cache and on my way.

Thank goodness for my companion who was gamer than me...what a great story behind this bridge! Thanks for making us stop

We looked around at the start, looking everywhere that it wasn’t. There was 3 spider eggs on the bottom of the tin Smile. My granddaughter (my favourite one ) said where it was multiple times, then we found it, and she kept saying “I told you!” There were bugs everywhere, and we were being bitten, so I suggest putting bug spray on before you get out.
But overall, it was a great find

Found with gwd.aussie while on a day caching run in the area. Heading further up the road to grab a cache to fill a gap in one of my calendars we pulled over to make the find.

thanks 2greywombats great location with some interesting local history.

I pulled up here expecting a quick find. The hiding place seemed obvious but between the soaked grass preventing me lying down and the width of my shoulders I couldn't worm my way in. Instead I was entertained by the friendly dog who insisted in playing fetch. Initially she eyed a fallen branch many times her size, looking somewhat crestfallen when I broke a part of it for her. Later I accidentally landed that on the nearby shelter roof. I tried throwing a different stick but no, no interest in something new, so searching on the roof I went. She was happy then. Such a beautiful dog.
Enjoyed my time here. Tftc

We found it but it was pretty hard, my dad was the one who had to get on the ground. There was also a very friendly puppy who came out to greet us.

Hi all this cache is still in place, thought the idea was to make it a bit tricky to find part of the fun. Yes you do have to search a bit to find this one if you read the logs it has been found several times. As a local in the area we have been hearing about the bridge upgrade for a number of years and are monitoring the situation if the works go ahead we have a new gz planned. Thanks for your comments and we hope you have more success next time 2greywombats.

Found where we think it is however neither of us game to venture in and check it out. Had a lovely chat with the owner next to gz and gave her a brief rundown of geocaching. Depending on what is involved in the retrieval i question the current difficulty/terrain rating. One day may be game to try retrieving but not today.

04-Feb-18
Another note the muggle who we spoke to said the bridge will be upgraded to 2 lanes soon so there is a chance gz may be lost in the near future

Wow !! Tricky to say the least. Thank goodness this chubby short wife has a tall lean hubby. A bit if a lay down and it was ours . Tftc

Hi all this is not an easy one to find, you may need to channel your inner contortionist. You may also have to negotiate with some native wildlife, it is still in place oh and you need to be aware of lots of muggles. Campo tin well hidden second last log said it all.

We had a bit of a search however as farm muggles were up the hill not far from the GZ we ended up abandoning the search rather then arousing their interest. Anyway, it was an interesting story for this location so well worth a visit.

Interesting story but sadly we didn't find the cache, we couldn't give it longer as there were muggles around. We'll try again.

So glad to be able to give this cache the loving that it deserves. This is what geocaching is about.

I had a pretty good idea of where to look and it still took a while to pin point the cache in its bed. I also had to negotiate with a big brush tailed possum above my head as I contorted myself to retrieve the cache. It appeared that he/she did not like being disturbed and continued to hiss and snarl whilst I twisted this way and that to reach my goal.

Log signed on this beautiful fresh winter's morn'. TNLN, but thanks to the 2greywombats for a nice placement.

We tried really hard today. I even crawled/lay in the cavity which smells like wee. Kato saw a mouse above where I was. It's probably his/her wee. We met the neighbour and his friendly dog who chased sticks with us while we looked and looked. We left sad because this is a really cool area to be brought to.

12-Jun-17
Hunted for ages here and Mummy Short Legs even inserted herself, Alice in Wonderland style, despite the spotted mice in the upper regions. We were determined but very unsuccessful in locating this one. Have no notion were it could be as every viable option was checked. Next time..

Had a bit of time up our sleeves this arvo so thought we'd pop out to Stacey's Bridge and cross this cache off the list. So glad that there is a cache here now, as it really is a cool piece of local history. Thanks again 2greywombats! Smile
