Unfortunately there is no sign to the end of the dispute over repairs at the Pakuranga Sailing Club.

Therefore, as we are leaving the area this one will be archived.

29-Mar-16
Oh dear. We wait. Council issues mean the repairs to the sailing club are not complete so unfortunately the replacement cache remains hidden in our garage. Time frame unknown.

18-Dec-15
We wait......

We have been told that we can replace the cache once the building has been repaired. The latest info we have is that they hope to start work on the building repairs at the end of January. Repairs could take a month.

Replacement cache is ready to go, but meantime we wait ........

04-Oct-15
There has been a fire at the Club and the cache has been destroyed. Disabling cache meantime while we find out more info and whether we are allowed to replace it or not.

Out and about for some quick caching on the way home this evening. I remember finding the previous hide here. Anyway, I parked up in the playground and made the short walk to GZ. Cache was soon detected. But how to access the log. Initially I thought it was a different type of hide, but obviously that didn't work on this. So, I went in for a closer inspection and with aid of my TOTT started the process of reverse engineering the problem. Oh, it is one of those! That handsome devil marksean must be very flattered indeed by all these imitation efforts! However, by this stage I could access the log so simply signed the damp scroll. After a spot more engineering it was time to hit the road again. Cheers for the smiley!

Found the cache easy enough but didn't have the appropriate tool to access the log. Will have to come back another day with tool to retrieve and sign the log.

Tricky, had to put the thinking cap on

We found this cache while at a nearby engagement party. It was cold, dark, and rainy and we had a bit of trouble finding it at first. After initially calling it we found the cache after one more look but couldn't access it. A trip back to the party soon had us with the necessary tool, but it took us longer than it should have to figure out how to use it. Once we had that we soon had the cache and the log signed. This is a really cool cache, nice job. Thanks for the cache!

No luck, maybe 2 finds in one day is enough

Once we located GZ, we scratched our heads on what to do next, we tried one method with two different tools, but could not get the cache. Next we examined things a bit more closely and decided on another approach. Fortunately, we had the right tool back at the car, so we were able to make the grab. TFTC.

A big team effort here with my second go at this type. All went smoothly and we were off to the next one. Tftc.

29-Aug-15
A great group met up this noon to get some of the close by mud geocaches secured. Afterwards we decided to cache on to get our numbers up and the area a little bit more clean of trads. Already had this one checked out earlier in the morning but came not equipped to retrieve the container. Motivated the group to give this one go. Big Grin TFTC

Thanks for this ThrowersOnTour .....definitely a favourite !

Alpenmilch had been to this cache earlier on today and going by what she said, this sounded very interesting. I wanted to come here too and find out what was happening. So joined with supernanny and ric and Agazo and Alpenmilch and we soon realised our first approach wasn't working. Then Agazo craftily spotted why it wasn't working and then we saw quite clearly what had to be done next. So off Agazo went or ric, I can't remember, to come back with the right 'equipment' to tackle this number. We then appointed Agazo to put his finger in the 'dike' and up came what we wanted - the cache. Very nicely done ThrowersOnTour and good teamwork today fellow cachers!

An awesome place for the Travelling Kiwis to start their wanderlust across the world.

Great cache, thanks for the hide! Came with friends and the majority of us stayed dry! 11th find of the day.

Lucky we had the right equipment with us today. Quickly grabbed from the bike and used it only to discover we were short. Fortunately a fresh supply close by allowed us to get what we needed to claim this cache.

Following a long weekend of caching and now back in familiar territory I didn't want to be caching today as all in all was still feeling rather weary, but as needs must when one sets their own personal caching challenge sometimes you just have to man up and grab a cache, today was one of those days where that was necessary.
I appreciate the work that has gone into this one and the placement out of sight of nearby muggles at the far end of the green
A nice quick find and head back to the car.

Thanks for the placement and the fun

Quick find on a Friday stroll with ice cream. Only trouble was finding a suitable tool. Then realised it was in hand! SL TFTC

30-Jul-15
Found while out on a bike ride. A few muggles were around but worked out where it was, on the way back the coast was clear so made the grab. The log is damp. TFTC

23-Jul-15
Out with the kiddies today at the snakes and ladders park getting some fresh air before more rain comes so thought I'd stop quickly and get this cache. Initially looked at one container but soon twigged it was the other one. Log is a bit damp already. TFTC!

Out to catch some vitamin D's with the kids so grabbed the GPS as well. Hadn't read the page or hints but spotted something that didn't seem to have any other obvious purpose and when we looked inside was cause for a yelp of success from GreenbLat jnr.

Immediately knew what we were up against having seen a few of these before. We took a fresh approach where you don't need to wait for the moon to do its thing, and using the tool in hand, the pre-logging requirement was soon full-filled.

Despite being busy along here today, there were no muggles just here. Signed log, closed up, and we were on our way. T4TC

Easy find we road all around the rotary with our bikes Smile

This was our second stop for the afternoon and there was a few people around enjoying the late afternoon sun. We headed over to where the GPS was pointing and fortunately all was quiet. Had a look around at a couple of things before something caught our eye. Hmmmm ahhh yes... a very nicely constructed cache.

The tide was high so we used the available resources at our feet and soon enough we had the cache in hand. A very nicely constructed, well thought out placement with everything provided. An easy favourite for us, keep up the good work! Big GrinBig Grin

Arrived at night then worried we might get locked in so decided to drive back up, park on the road and walk down. As we did the security guard arrived! We got to GZ I quickly spotted something that looked a little strange and yes it was it! But we needed something to help with retrieval. Ger began to head back to the car for a suitable object when he had a Eureka moment and used something very close to hand! Cache was quickly signed and returned. Gets a fave from us. TFTC Smile

Had just finished dinner and was watching last nights NCIS, when the phone started churping....a few new caches in my hood. I'm not one who normally rushes out for these, but thought I would like to beat Keylev to it.....so out I went.

Arrived at GZ and there were a few young muggles in the area, but thankfully not on the cache side.

I nearly attacked the wrong cache container.

Awesome cache...gets a fav point from me. My cache like this was a lot meaner, you are been nice to us cachers :-p

WHOOP WHOOP....{FTF}

I had just got premium membership today and set up notifications, so was surprised when my phone went off, saying there was not just one, but THREE new caches close by! Well, one of them was mine, so I couldn't go for that, but the others..... I thought I'd see what this FTF buzz was all about and give it a go.

So I grabbed my keys and raced out the door, much to the surprise of hubby, who was just arriving home. I mumbled something about a new cache and jumped in the car. I decided to head for this one, since i know the Sailing Club well, as I used to walk along the Rotary Walkway often- although I also knew that it was closer to UncleSam's house than mine- I just hoped that he wasn't out on the prowl tonight, so that I might have a shot!

After dealing with traffic lights that just wouldn't change, I arrived at the Sailing Club and parked up near GZ- luckily the gates were still open, as something was happening in the club. I got out of the car and headed towards GZ.... only to be greeted by a figure coming towards me having a bit of a laugh.... UncleSam. Darn.... there goes my chance at FTF!

Nevertheless, I was here, so off i went as Sam headed for the next new cache, and after a bit of a search in the wrong place, I found the cache, but unfortunately I had not come as prepared as I thought! I gave it a couple of goes but just didn't quite get there..... I was so disappointed! Then inspiration struck, and after a quick return to my car for something I just happened to have lying about in there, cache was in hand, and I signed underneath UncleSam's FTF.

Then off I went.... wow, what a buzz! Next time for the FTF, hopefully.... gotta be quick around these parts!!!

Thanks for the cool cache.... A favourite for me also, for the cache itself, and for the fun of this adventure!
